The main page for the under-developing "Material Authenticity Modification" (MAM). This mod project aims to create better authentic experiences for the entire COD WaW's single-player campaign with several new content and improvements. Mod developers: Gicombat, FeReise, PanzerMan and Co.

Greetings everyone!
This will be the main MODDB page for our under-developing "Material Authenticity Modification" or "MAM" that many of you guys might have heard from Frosty's YouTube Channel, so yeah, this is it. The MAM project's main goal is to increase historical accuracy and bring a better, more authentic experience for the entire COD WaW's single-player campaign. It will regroup the majority of the contents from our FoB mod series (Fall of Berlin, RoS, Vendetta, and Pacific stand-alone mods), with better models and weapons rearrangements in general, and combine them with several updates and additional features, including new weapons, models, and voicelines.

***Also note there's very bad news with the future updates for the FoB series, and I need to inform you guys here.
After a confirmation from Gicombat, with too many materials that will affect the overall performance and development progress of the FoB/Fall of Berlin series, we decided that most of the new models and textures that show in the image section of the FoB mod will appear only in this MAM project instead. This is due to the current version of the FoB series' mods having already reached their limited capacity to contain any new materials in them. Adding any single one of the new materials will definitely result in two huge technical difficulties that Gicombat has confirmed so far: "The game will crash and/or freeze while loading the Eviction mission and playing the End Credit section."

Thus, we must apologize to everyone of you for these issues. At the same time, some new models/textures will still appear for the upcoming update for the FoB series with new model rearrangements.
***[Updated] As of Sep 9th, 2025, we found out that the issue in the credit section is a separate problem caused by the "credits_load.ff" file belonging to the Spain at War mod. This file is located in the Appdata pathway/directory (...AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW) inside the "usermaps" folder. Although we managed to fix the issue by removing the file (and you can do this by yourself), now the soundtrack from the main menu section is somehow 'colliding' or playing together with the credits' soundtracks for some reason. We will look into this later on...

Anyway, here are some examples of the new stuff and updates for the MAM project (still WIP).
New models:
- USMC P41 Utilities for marine characters throughout the game (P41 is still in use in large numbers in 1944/1945).
- Proper Army uniforms for the 77th ID's soldiers in the Breaking Point mission.
- Some more variations among rank insignia for all factions.
- New IJN models for the Japanese 62nd Guard Force (identified by derfy4374 from Hattori Han reenactment group and his sources) in Makin Atoll, Peleliu's 30th Base Force (minority), and among merchant ships (and maybe them FKIN' PT BOATS!!!) in Black Cats mission.
- Import all contents from Vendetta 3.0 Beta for the Vendetta mission.
- Much more variations for German and some foreign volunteer units in Seelow & Berlin missions.
- Vast improvements in terms of model arrangements in each mission.
- Few female Soviet models (with their own voice lines) and shock troop/sapper models.
- New gears & equipment for every faction.
- Some new face models.
- etc.

[Updated2] New weapons:
- USMC & Army: M1928(straight and drummag) & M1928A1 & M1 & M1A1(new model) Thompsons, M1918A1 & M1918A2 (new BAR models), M50 Reising, S&W 1917 revolver, M11 shotgun, M12 Shotgun, M1919A6, etc.
- IJA & IJN: Type 38 Arisaka & Type 97/scope variant (standard rifle for 1942 mission, Type 99 rifle will be more common/standard since 1943-45 for the 'Pacific' theater), Type 96 LMG & Bayonet variants for both 96 and 99 versions, Type 44 Carbine, Type Ru (IJN's Lewis copied MG), Type 11 LMG, Type 89 Grenade discharger, Type 94 (pistol), Type I rifle (IJN, probably a few), etc.
- Soviets: New models for PPSh-41 & SVT-40, Mosin 91/30 (standard rifle, also with scope variants), DP-27, PPS-43, Mosin 1944 Carbine, Korovin TK, etc. The vanilla/original Mosin will be replaced by a new one and renamed to Mosin 1938 Carbine.
- Germans (mainly) and foreign volunteers: STG-44 (new models), Luger P08, Mauser C96 & M712 variant, MP28, scoped Gewehr 43, FG42 late war variant, Gewehr 98, Erma EMP, MP41, MP41(r) (9mm converted PPSh-41), MP3008, Gustloff Volkssturmgewehr, MAB38A, ZB-26 (also used by few Japanese on Okinawa), Carcano rifle variants, M1916 Berthier Carbine, Walther PPK, Browning HP (Pistole 640(b)), Wz. 35 Vis (Pistole P 35(p)), Mauser Model 1934, Mauser HSc, Model 39 "Eihandgranate", MP34/Steyr-Solothurn S1-100 and SIG Model 1920 (also used by IJN in a few or rare numbers, or as bonus weapons), etc.
Note that we might be able to include some new weapons like the Type 26 revolver, Panzerfaust 60, and Gewehr 41(w) in future updates. Only 'IF' we manage to create or port decent reloading animations and firing sounds & animations for them.

Others:
- Some new voices/dialogues for most of the factions except American (Maybe? We shall see).
- Either rearrange or include more variations among German armored vehicles in 1945-related missions.
- Change tanks in certain missions. Such as, replace Type 97 Chi Ha with Type 95 Ha Go in Peleliu missions, replace Tiger II in Vendetta with something else, etc.
- Change planes in certain missions, such as replacing B-17 with B-24 in Hard Landing.
- Including a "switch fires" mode. There's a considerable number of technical mistakes to deal with atm, but we shall see...
- Etc.

That's all for now, we'll be back later with any further updates!

One question: will the Veschmeshok backpack version with the sleeping blanket, like in Call of Duty 1, be added? A model similar to this one: Russomilitare.com
According to our researcher's partners, the link you sent ( Russomilitare.com ) turned out to be a post-war model.
They also mention that the closest thing to a bedroll backpack to depict here would be a pre-war model. But for the late-war scenarios like Berlin, there is only a single photo of it in the city (that they have found so far), and without a bedroll. ( Istochnik.us )
But, during the Vendetta missions, something like this would be appropriate: Share.google
They said that this is almost never seen by 1942, and the same with breadbags.
I also look through Stalingrad-related photos. And I'd say, the standalone simple backpack (Veschevoi myeshok), along with those equipped with a bedroll/greatcoat across the left shoulder, would be good enough for the Vendetta setting.

It seems to me that 'the Shinel "Skatka" bedroll on top of the backpack' style would be more suitable for the pre- and early-war rucksacks (Ranyets Rioksak). We will keep this in mind anyway.

that would really be a cool addition
Add the full auto versions of the M1 carbine and Svt 40
question will there be any germans wearing radio backpack?
This article says that a few female Red Army soldiers will have their own voice lines, which implies that you’re going to have voice actors for some of the female Red Army soldiers’ battle chatter, and maybe some of their scripted voice lines in Ring of Steel, Eviction, and Downfall?
Mentioned here Moddb.com
For some reason, on Ring of Steel (its probably on other missions too, just haven't played them yet,) some of the enemy models have been replaced with a low poly woman model? I'm unsure as to what caused it and need help fixing it
(sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, i really don't know where else to)
This is likely caused by a wrong installation method for one of the FoB series' mods. If you are sure you installed everything according to our "Article #8" correctly and don't MIX UP mod.ff files (or already installed 'Lanfix' in case you don't use STEAM), you can contact me directly via Discord. My account is: FeReise. It'd be easier to help you from there. But don't forget to leave a 'message request' to identify yourself and your request there or I won't accept your friend request.
But in case you can't send me a message in Discord, please leave a message in my STEAM account instead: FeReise
And yes, I'm afraid this is not exactly the place to leave feedback for the FoB series. Instead, you should leave this comment on the direct webpage of the mod that you have downloaded and are having trouble with in the first place. And I don't see any of your comments in the FoB mods' webpages.
