1st place winner of the 2026 SLAS game jam, made in only a week with the theme of "Supernatural"! The year is 2037. After a nuclear accident at the Kola Nuclear Power Plant, the world is in shambles and people seek shelter. To help the people, RSF has opened 30 shelters worldwide. You are stationed as inspector of shelter 16. Checkpoint 16 is a short, "Papers, Please" type document inspection game in which you play as the inspector of Shelter 16's entry gate. Individuals, some normal and some anomalous, wish to get in, and it's your job to determine who is real and who isn't. Keep a keen eye out for discrepancies, interrogate suspicious individuals, and ensure the safety of Shelter 16. RSF is counting on you. Don't let it in.

Heya folks, it's Micrometer Squared Studios again, and we've brought forth our new, award-winning horror game, Checkpoint 16.

Checkpoint 16 is a short, "Papers, Please" type horror game in which you play as the checkpoint inspector of Shelter 16. In a post-apocalyptic world, people have become desperate for life and dozens of survivors are flocking to shelters to have a chance at living.

A 20 minute experience that can be played on itch.io in your browser, free of charge. Featuring 2 in-game days of content, 11 unique characters, and dozens of documents to file through, this award-winning game is one hell of an experience!

Some survivors give real information. Some try and decieve their way into Shelter 16.

During your two days as inspector, you must filter through documents in search of forgeries, fakes, mismatches, and other anomalies. Nobody can be trusted until proven innocent.
