J-Mouse

j mouse

A J-Mouse, sometimes known as a JMouse or J Mouse, was used with earlier portable computers. It mimicked the actions of a typical computer mouse by using the keyboard’s “J” key. Under the spacebar, there were often two independent buttons for the left and right clicks. A mouse image and an indented circle serve as the exclusive identifiers for the Zenith or ZDS Z-Star EX keyboard J-Mouse, as shown in the image. It distinguishes itself physically and aesthetically from the other keyboard keys.

This mouse is no longer used since it was difficult to operate and because better technologies were subsequently developed. We appreciate Chris at ZDSParts for providing us with an accurate image of the Z-Star EX laptop.
