5 open source alternatives to Slack for team chat
keybase.io now has a team collaboration mechanism. I'm still toying with it, but they have a unique and very interesting approach. Though ultimately open source, I don't think you can self-serve just yet. So how "open" it is...

Brotli: A new compression algorithm for faster Internet
Irony. This article (well, opensource.com) uses the gzip compression algorithm. "Content-Encoding:gzip" :)
