The UK SF Fandom ArchiveThis science fiction resource, set up by Naveed Khan at Glasgow University in the early 1990s, was deleted without warning or explanation in February 2009. Copies are preserved by the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. Here's a quick guide to repairing your sf links. Each section below begins with an appropriate active link.
- Ansible moved to its former mirror site at news.ansible.co.uk in 2005, so should be unaffected. However, links to the redirection pages left in its place at UKSFA will need updating. The equivalent URLs www.dcs.gla.ac.uk/SF-Archives/Ansible/a200.html and www.dcs.gla.ac.uk/Ansible/a200.html should both become news.ansible.co.uk/a200.html – and so on for all other issues of Ansible and related pages.
- Encyclopedia of Fantasy (1997) on-line corrections have been reinstated at sfe3.org/addenda/fec.html.
- Encyclopedia of Science Fiction (1993) on-line corrections have been reinstated at sfe3.org/addenda.
- Fannish E-Mail Directory – the text copies we used to hold at UKSFA were superseded by John Lorentz's own site (not, alas, updated since 2006) at http://www.spiritone.com/~jlorentz/email/.
- Fans Across the World, the archive of Bridget Wilkinson's newsletter (sporadic since 2002 and suspended since 2007), was re-hosted in December 2009 at Bill Burns's eFanzines: http://efanzines.com/FAWorld/.
- GUFF: the unofficial UK Get-Up-and-over/Going Under Fan Fund site moved some time ago to taff.org.uk/guff.html.
- Miscellaneous fanzine writing (including The Eye of Argon, "Egoboo for Algernon", The Enchanted Duplicator and an uncollected Terry Pratchett speech) is linked from a new menu at ansible.co.uk/misc/fanstuff.html.
- TAFF: the unofficial UK TransAtlantic Fan Fund site moved some time ago to taff.org.uk.
- Then, Rob Hansen's history of British sf fandom, has been reinstated at ansible.co.uk/Then.
- Other UKSFA texts, such as the Gibson and Sterling material copiously available elsewhere on line, have not been specially reinstated but can be found (in their UKSFA versions) via the Internet Archive Wayback Machine – see link.
