Can I cancel my subscription before the end of my commitment period?
There is no cancellation policy, or reimbursement for a subscription. Once you subscribe you are obligated to pay for the full commitment period.
Will my subscription automatically renew?
For Plus and Pro subscribers, when your commitment period ends your plan will automatically convert to a flexible month-to-month subscription. The key things to note about the flex option:
- You pay month-to-month and can cancel your subscription at any time. However, cancellation will take effect from the following month.
- You can add and remove seats on a flex plan without having to start a new commitment period. If you cancel your flex plan, you cannot re-start it: you will have to commit to another 12 months of Plus or Pro to get the flex option again.
- The rates for the flexible plan are the same as the 12 month commitment: $35/month for Plus, $125/month for Pro.
- If you do not wish to continue on a flex plan, you can choose expire your subscription after its commitment period. If you choose to expire your plan, your version of Unity will switch to Personal.
Can I downgrade my subscription during my commitment period?
No, you cannot downgrade to a lower tier during your commitment period. You can upgrade to a higher tier within your commitment period, however, you cannot reduce the number of seats if you upgrade.
What happens if I upgrade to a higher tier during my commitment period?
If you upgrade during a commitment period, you will have to commit for a new period of at least 12 months. For example, if you choose to upgrade to Unity Pro 6 months into a 12 month subscription to Plus, you will have to start a new 12 month commitment period for Pro. The old commitment period for Plus will be removed.
You can upgrade your plan yourself from your Unity ID. Note that:
- All upgrades will take effect immediately
- It is not possible to reduce the number of seats when upgrading to a higher product tier
- You can choose a different payment plan, for example, pre-pay for 12 months instead of paying per month.
When you upgrade to a higher product tier, any prepaid amount for the remaining commitment period which will not be consumed will be deducted in the future payments for the new product tier.
Can I increase the number of seats in my plan?
Yes, you can always add seats on the same plan and conditions as the seats you added at the beginning of your subscription, so if your subscription is prepaid, then the seats you add will also be prepaid, and there will be no change in the per seat price. The payment for all seats added during the commitment period will be prorated upon being added and enter into the existing billing cycle for future payments, up until the end of the commitment period.
