A Date with Death

You're just an ordinary person... or so you thought. For your entire life, you've been narrowly avoiding death by pure luck... or is it something more? When a strange program suddenly appears on your computer, and someone claiming to be the Grim Reaper says he's come for your soul, your life as you know it is thrown upside down.
As you delve deeper into the mysterious man that calls himself the Grim Reaper, you begin to wonder if fate brought you two together for a reason. Can you resist his charm, or will you fall for the one destined to take your soul?
A Date with Death is a supernatural romance chat simulator visual novel about the week long bet you enter against the Grim Reaper to attempt to keep your soul. Create your own character, from appearance to pronouns, decorate your apartment, and spend the (possible) last week of your life getting to know the one hunting for your soul.
💀 Custom Character Creation:
Build your own protagonist, from their physical appearance to their pronouns and name. Update them throughout the game!
💀 Room Design:
Decorate your apartment to your liking and create a cozy space that you'll love coming back to.
💀 Pet Your Furry (or scaley?) Companion:
Yes, you can pet the dog. Snuggle up with your furry friend and let their cute antics help you unwind
💀 Choices That Matter:
Make decisions that will affect your character's fate and lead you to one of multiple possible endings. What kind of relationship will you have with the Grim Reaper?
💀 Gorgeous Original Art:
It has to be said... the Grim Reaper is good-looking. Just don't tell him - it'll go to his head.
The main story of A Date with Death will always be free, but if you'd like to support the game and get some extras, then you can purchase our two optional DLCs!
Expansion DLC:
- Extra character customization options (five hair fronts, five hair backs, three fem outfits + recolors, four masc outfits + recolors, and 13 accessories)
- Adds extra choices and conversations throughout all days (find the ★ symbol!)
- Adds one additional ending (including a new CG!)
This DLC adds some small additional goodies to the free base game.

Bought the Expansion DLC after playing the base game and found that it was worth it. Having increased dialogue options made replaying for base game endings more enjoyable and the Expansion DLC ending was also a fitting addition to the plot (loved it). It's a very sweet game and I didn't expect to feel as immersed as I did in the story. So happy to have it available on Mac (thank you devs!!)
just finished the game after 2 days of playing, holy crap its so good im not sure how to put it into words.the art, story, character is just all so amazing.

What're you on? I use windows & you just have to extract the files & click the one that says application then youre all set. Even if you don't & still attempt to open the file labeled application, a notification will pop up asking if you want to extract them, for me at least. Hope this helps you

I just finished the game, what to say? I got so emotional thru the end. I loved how much we can customize of our character and the room, how shy and blushy Grim is... the fact that he gave the MC my fav flowers ;w; unf...
Got ending "Mine". So perfect, I loved this game so much, loved the chat, the variety of choice we can make. Thank you so much, I hope I'll play the dlc one day.

I finally was able to open it!! I swear I'm about to cry. I went through so much trial and error, trying to find some way to make this work. I kinda just had to do some work with different files and manipulate them so they worked. I'm, extremely happy, because there are lots of download games I want to play, and I finally can! <3

This one is safe🙌🏻 it may be confusing, but it's visual novel, so you just watch main character dealing with "unknown app" on their computer, it doesn't affect you, if that's what you're worried about
Sooo, I've been wanting to play this game for as long as I can remember, but it never works for me. I usually play all these games on my computer (which I'm doing rn) and when I download the file NOTHING happens. I can see basically all the parts of the game (like how there is 26 hair styles and 22 colours) but that's just it. Its every little file bit and photo required to make the game. No actual game. I really hope someone can help me with this, because I so badly want to play. I've heard good things, and from what I've seen (in the files) it looks like it would be really fun and right up my alley. Again, someone please help me. Thank you

Ok, I'm literally so close rn. I have the file and everything, but i sorta just need an app that can support it. Im not sure if that makes much sense. There's an app called concepts that already on my chromebook, but it doesnt support/actually open the game. I just need something that will go with it. Bro, Ive just installed crossover and a bunch of other stuff bc it said this would work, but its not. i swear im so close to giving up but i really dont want to. This is a new chromebook, i got it last summer, so I really dont know the problem. had me make a bottle and things, but i really dont think it should be this hard. i should ahve SOMETHING that supports the file.
This game is unplayable for me, it crashes in the same exact spot every time. Weirdly, this is consistent on both the downloaded version from itch, and on steam. I just thought I'd say something in case I'm not the only one!

In the beginning when the intro text is happening, right at the end it says that you look in the mirror and "what do you see?" After I click it freezes right there every time. Thanks for responding to me!
It sounds like your computer may not support the game's renderer. You can press shift + G in game to change it - making sure to restart the game between any changes!
OMG thank you SO much!!! It worked thankfully. I can't believe I almost missed out on this game. It's seriously one of my absolute favorites now. The first ending I got was 3: Mine. Can't wait to replay and get every ending. Great game, and thanks again for responding and helping me <3 <3 <3

THIS GAME IS AMAZING.
THIS IS THE CUTEST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED!!! 7000;5 STARS DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! The gameplay is easy to understand and follow along with, "Grim" is the cutest lil guy ever, there are so many choices to make (I got Ending 3 and intend to go back and play for more endings), and it is SO customizable! You can choose what you look like, your name, your pronouns, your favorite color, and SO MUCH MORE! LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH AND WOULD LOVE TO CONTINUE SUPPORTING THE CREATOR AND THEIR INCREDIBLY TALENTED AND LOVELY TEAM!
