- Ending Fatigue: This game's last level is actually longer than all the previous levels combined, and it's as epic as it is exhausting. You have to fight your way through shoot 'em up level against the Morden Army, go through two more shoot 'em up levels after a fake-out, infiltrate the alien mothership, rescue your comrade, and escape while dealing with the alien's last stand. In total, there are five bosses, at least eight different levels, and literal hundreds of enemies you have to shred. Even though each of them is amazing in a vacuum, the mission can be really gruelling to play at once because of how long it is for an arcade game.
- Narm: Early in the Final Mission, one of your comrades is kidnapped by the Mars People in a cutscene, forcing you to control another player character in their stand. It's a shocking moment intended to establish your personal chips in the story, but... it really doesn't work in the two-player mode, where the other player character will inexplicably just stand still there and watch their comrade dragged away, doing absolutely nothing. Moreover, their idle animation will play in this cutscene, so if you're playing as Fio, enjoy watching her eat a sandwich while her poor friend is getting hauled away into the flying saucer. The result is the whole scene comes off absurdly hilarious rather than being a Player Punch.
