Tropes Associated With The Show:

  • Affectionate Nickname: Lily sometimes calls Cumulus "Cumie" in a sweet voice.
  • All-CGI Cartoon: The promo showcases a stylized form of CGI animation, a far cry from PBS Kids' other CG cartoons.
  • Bespectacled Cutie: The trailers show that Lily is a cute girl that wears glasses.
  • Bottle Episode: While this can describe episodes that primarily take place in the house, it's very pronounced in "A Dark And Stormy Night". Due to the storm and power outage, we mainly see the family in the living room and kitchen.
  • Celebrity Toons: The show is created by and stars Al Roker, who voices the family’s dad, Al Hunter.
  • Constantly Curious: The 15 second trailer show how Lily is a curious girl with how she keeps asking questions about rain and snow.
  • Cool Big Sis: Corky acts pretty friendly and supportive to both Lily and Benny, with the two girls also being happy around Benny.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Corky shows some shades of this in the first episode, when she makes a sarcastic comment about Al making dad jokes that he thinks are really funny.
  • Edutainment Show: As per usual with PBS Kids shows, this series is meant to be educational by teaching kids about the weather. The third preview clip shows this as Lili and Corky wonder about various things like thermometers and hygrometers, which are explained.
  • Flying Car: Episode 2, "The Vansformer", introduces the titular vehicle, a flying van that allows the family to fly into the clouds.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Great Grandpa Wallace invented a lot of crazy gadgets to help the Hunter family in the present day.
  • Gender-Equal Ensemble: The Hunter becomes this as of "Finding Cumulus", with Lily, Corky, and Dot all all female while Al, Benny, and the Cumulus are male.
  • Girlish Pigtails: The trailers show Lily wearing her hair in pigtails.
  • Goggles Do Something Unusual: The first episode has Lily get Flex Specs, which are glasses with her great grandfather's voice that allow her to analyze anything weather related.
  • Halloween Episode: One of the early episodes is titled “Foggy Trick or Treat”, which shows the Hunters navigating a spooky, foggy night while trick-or-treating.
  • Meaningful Name: The behind the scenes video shows how the family has a dog named Cumulus. That's a type of cloud, which fits the show's weather themed storytelling.
  • Parental Sexuality Squick: It's averted in the first episode. Corky doesn't mind when Dot gives Al a kiss on the cheek. In fact, she asks them to do it again while she records it. Lily and Benny don't seem to mind what's happening.
  • Picnic Episode: "Finding Cumulus" has the family go on a picnic to the park, where they encounter Cumulus the dog.
  • Weather Report: Given how this is about a family with a weatherman for a father, it's not surprising that we'd get this. The first episode starts with Al giving a report on the current weather condition while he says how he's moving to his old home. The main plot of the episode is about trying to do a weather report from the backyard, which he's able to do thanks to Lily, Corky, and Benny observing the wind all day.
