Go To

Hero Forge is a website where users can create custom miniatures for tabletop games. Featuring a wide and ever-expanding library of customization options, the site can be used to create unique miniatures for nearly any game setting. Users can purchase physical or digital versions of the minis they create, though the site is equally useful as a free character creation tool.

Hero Forge contains examples of the following tropes:

  • '60s Hair: The description of the Large Afro notes its popularity in the 60s.
  • '80s Hair: Represented by the Eighties Bob hairstyle.
  • Added Alliterative Appeal: Alliteration is present in the names of many selectable options. It’s most common among cloth colors, with most of them having alliterative names if they don’t already have rhyming ones. To list one for each letter that has one: Affluent Aqua, Bulky Beige, Copious Carmine, Elegant Emerald, Fleecy Forest, Granite Grandiose, Judgy Jade, Luxury Lavender, Millionaire Mink, Orange Opulence, Plentiful Pewter, Royal Red, Supreme Sky, Tangerine Treasure, and Weighty White.
  • Adhesive Bow Tie: The Wide Clown Bow Tie does not come with a neck wrap, so it can be applied to characters who aren’t even wearing shirts.
  • Alas, Poor Yorick: The Poor Yorick pose is designed to let minis contemplate an item of their choosing, with a skull being one option.
  • All Trolls Are Different: Trolls are among the selectable species.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: A large variety of fantastic skin tones are available.
  • Anchors Away: The description of the Ship's Anchor alludes to its use as a weapon.
  • Animal Eyes: Minis can have eyes with slit, horizontal, or curved pupils.
  • Anime Hair: The Anime Spike hairstyle consists of geometric spikes.
  • Arrows on Fire: The Siege Arrow is a flaming arrow that can be added to a drawn bow.
  • Arsenal Attire: Heroes can wear their weapons with the Wrist-Mounted Blade, Sentry, Grappling Hook, and Rocket Launcher, as well as the Bladed Gauntlet, the Gatling Glove, the bladed Ninja Gauntlets, and the various clawed gauntlets.
  • The Artifact: Many of the beard options contain the words "Sans Mustache" in their names and allude to the lack of mustache in their descriptions, despite the fact that the mini bearing these options may very well have a mustache. This is a remnant of changes to the facial hair system over time. In the past, only one facial hair option could be selected, so in order to have a beard with a mustache, they were combined into one item. Mustacheless versions of some of the beards were later added. Later on, mustaches and beards were given their own separate selection menus, but the descriptions of the "Sans Mustache" beards remained.
  • Artificial Limbs: A variety of prosthetic limbs, both realistic and futuristic, are selectable.
  • Bad with the Bone: Minis can wield both standard bones and bone-based weapons, like the Bone Blade, Skeletal Dagger, Bone Bow, Brutal Crossbow, and Horse Spine Whip.
  • Banana Peel: The description of the Banana mentions using its peel for tripping.
  • Barbie Doll Anatomy: Take the clothing off of a mini, and you'll see that they lack genitals and nipples.
  • Barefoot Cartoon Animal: This trope is true by default for minis with most types of animalistic legs, as shoes are disabled for these legs (though a few ankle wraps are selectable).
  • Basement Dweller: The description of the Shaggy Beard notes that it’s a common look for “dwarves who still live in their mom’s basement.”
  • Bat People: Batfolk, humanoids with vampire bat features, are one of the default species.
  • Bear Trap: The Bear Trap is available as a base item.
  • Beast Man: A large number of humanoid animals are present on the list of species options. To list them all: there's anthro-canines, anthro-felines, apefolk, batfolk, bears, catfolk, centaurs, colliefolk, crocofolk, dogfolk, elephantfolk, elk beastfolk, fauns, fennec fox beastfolk, foxes, frogfolk, giggle-dogs, half-dragons, horsefolk, huskyfolk, insects, kobolds, lionfolk, lizardpeople, minotaurs, rabbitfolk, raccoonfolk, ratfolk, ravenfolk, ribbets, satyrs, serpentfolk, simiah, stoatfolk, turtlepeople, weavers, and wolffolk.
  • Bedsheet Ghost: The Tiny Ghost item is a ghost depicted in this way.
  • Bio-Armor: The Soldier's Cyber Suit outfit is made up of "techno-organic" armor pieces. The Techno-Organic Leg Armor and Kneepads' descriptions say that they're made from bio-metals, and the Techno-Organic Pauldrons' description says that it's hard to tell whether they were made or grown.
  • Bird People: Ravenfolk are one of the default species. The Eagle Head and Owl Head can also be used to make an avian humanoid.
  • The Blank: The Smooth face option removes all the orifices from the face, and the Featureless option makes the face entirely barren, removing even the indents where the features would be.
  • Blood Sucking Bats: Both batfolk and the bat familiar are based explicitly on vampire bats. Slightly downplayed by the inclusion of markings from non-vampiric bat species as decals.
  • Blue Means Cold: Awed Ice, Dicey Icey, Frost (both skin and eye colors), Frost Demon, Ice Spark, and Winter are all blue ice-themed colors.

  • Fox Folk: Foxes (humanoid and otherwise) are among the selectable species, as are fennec fox beastfolk.
  • Frog Men: Frogfolk are one of the species options, as are ribbets (another type of frog people) for those with access to the Downloadable Content.
