Zundamon's Theorem

Go To

Zundamon's Theorem is an online series starring UTAU characters Zundamon and Shikoku Metan, who explain unusual math problems. Over the course of each episode, the two characters will discuss a math problem that appears to be easy to solve at first, only to realize how complicated or non-trivial it actually is, leading to an insightful analysis for a better understanding. The humor and personality of the ladies make the topics fun and entertaining even for people who aren't experts in advanced mathematical topics.

Tropes in this work:

  • The Big Board: Metan usually has the relevant math problem displayed on a big board for Zundamon and the viewer to see.
  • Color Wash: Some scenes featuring Zundamon without Metan show the surroundings with a white hue, giving the impression that she's in another plane of existence.
  • Edutainment Show: The show is about advanced math topics, but they're presented and explored with a friendly, accessible language for all viewers.
  • Fade to White: A common visual effect, used when an important fact or formula related to the current math problem is about to be displayed.
  • Oh, Crap!: Zundamon expresses a big surprise upon seeing a result or a mathematical property that she didn't see coming, even when Metan says a "watch out!" line when it's about to happen.
  • Straight Man and Wise Guy: The episodes typically have Zundamon struggle with an unusual math problem, while Metan explains it.
