Muffins come in many different flavors,
And different sizes, too
If you think you don't like one,
Just try a different kind!
(Just try another kind! Just try another kind!)
Oh, how can you not like muffins?
They never did you no harm!
How can you not like muffins,
When we're fresh and warm?
And different sizes, too
If you think you don't like one,
Just try a different kind!
(Just try another kind! Just try another kind!)
Oh, how can you not like muffins?
They never did you no harm!
How can you not like muffins,
When we're fresh and warm?
— "Muffinale"
Muffin Films is the first web series created by Amy Winfrey of Big Bunny and Making Fiends fame.
The web series consists of animated shorts featuring muffins and lasted 19 episodes, the first 12 released in 2000, 6 more released in 2010 and a pair of Christmas shorts coming out in 2011 and 2015.
Muffin Films contains examples of:
- Anthropomorphic Food: Most of the shorts feature sentient talking muffins.
- Christmas Episode:
- The 2011 short "Mini Muffin Holidays" has the mini muffins return during the holidays, this time pestering the girl to also consume season-appropriate foods such as eggnog.
- The 2015 short "Twelve Muffins" consists of a parody of the song "I Saw Three Ships a Sailing" that recounts the misadventures of 12 muffins during Christmas.
- Death by Gluttony: The interactive "Feed Me" short has the viewer feed muffins to a woman. Should the player give the woman one more muffin after sampling all six varieties, it will result in the woman blowing up.
- Easily Thwarted Alien Invasion: "U.F.M." has a race of alien muffins attempt to invade, only to land in the middle of a bake sale and get surrounded by humans willing to eat them.
- Gone Swimming, Clothes Stolen: "Twelve Muffins" has one of the muffins suffer the mishap of losing his pants (i.e. his wrapper) when he goes swimming.
- I Do Not Like Green Eggs and Ham: "Muffinale" concerns a girl who doesn't like muffins, but changes her mind after the muffins convince her to try some.
- Portmantitle: The last short released in 2000 is titled "Muffinale", a portmanteau of "muffin" and "finale", since it was apparently intended to be the end of the series before more shorts were produced about a decade later.
- Series Fauxnale: "Muffinale" was apparently intended as the final series installment (as indicated by the Portmantitle), but no longer was with the production of 6 more shorts in 2010 and two subsequent Christmas shorts.
- Vengeful Ghost: "Beware" involves Old Man Muffin being eaten whole by Mr. Turnpike, resulting in him coming back as a ghost and eating Mr. Turnpike in revenge.
- Video Game Cruelty Potential: "Feed Me" is an interactive short that can end in two cruel ways at the viewer's choice. Giving one more muffin to the woman after she states she's full will cause her to explode, while choosing to not click on any muffins and ignore her pleas that she is hungry will cause her to promptly die of starvation.
"Wow, you were right! Muffins are great!"
