MetaBallStudios is a YouTube channel made by Álvaro Gracia Montoya from Spain. The videos consist of 3D animations demonstrating the size differences among various real and fictional animals, buildings, vehicles, and other things. There are also videos using the same method to quantify more abstract concepts like speed and time.

Tropes include:

  • Big Applesauce: New York City is very commonly used as the setting for the size comparison line-ups, likely because it's easy for viewers to visualize the sizes of its many famous buildings.
  • Exact Words: The "DRAGONS Size Comparison" video features many literal dragons — and the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft as a "reference".
  • Funny Background Event:
  • Heartbeat Soundtrack: In "Time In Perspective", a heartbeat can be heard as the video arrives at the last unique milestone, "Quantum tunneling could generate new inflationary events, resulting in new Big Bangs."
  • Humongous Mecha: A video from April 30, 2022 focuses on the size differences between various fictional mecha.
  • Kaiju: Giant monsters are popular choices for the videos. "(Movie) MONSTERS Size COMPARISON" most directly deals with them, but lots of other videos focused on different topics nonetheless feature kaiju as well.
  • Long List: The videos frequently end with lengthy lists of characters and things that fit with the video topic but which Montoya didn't have the time or resources to render.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: "DRAGONS Size Comparison" compares the sizes of numerous dragons from fiction.
  • Stock Scream: In "RADIOACTIVE DOSE in Perspective", the final radiation dose causes the human to be knocked back while letting out a Wilhelm scream.
  • Time Abyss: In "Time In Perspective", where one second equals one millimeter, and the age of the universe isn't even the size of a city, there's still several minutes left when the observable universe — by definition the absolute largest thing that humans can possibly measure to any degree of accuracy — passes by. The milestones after that have absolutely nothing to be compared against. Not even each other, as the differences are just that vast.
