Star Wars: Hunters (Video Game)
Star Wars: Hunters is a 2024 Star Wars competitive arena mobile game by Zynga.

Set after Return of the Jedi, the world of Vespaara is home to a fighting arena in which warriors from various factions battle together in teams to win their dues.

You can play as different hunters from various species, and backgrounds. These hunters include:

  • Damage: Imara Vex, Diago, J-3DI, Rieve, Utooni, Aran Tal, Pilbush, Nox, Glikkin
  • Support: Zaina, Skora, Sprocket, Tuya
  • Tank: Sentinel, Grozz, Charr, Slingshot, K-A0S

Two squads, The Gundarks and The Mudhorns, consists of four members that fight against each other to reach the objective.

It has four main game modes:

  • Squad Brawl: Score points by eliminating the enemies. Whichever squad has the most eliminations wins.
  • Dynamic Control: The control point regularly switches to a new location and whichever squad stays on the control point the longest wins.
  • Trophy Chase: Whichever squad holds TR0-F33 the longest wins.
  • Power Control: There are three control points in the map. The squad who holds onto at least two control points will have their score progress to win and holding three will speed up the scoring rate.

The game released on June 4, 2024 to iOS, Google Play, Android, and the Nintendo Switch.

The game's last update was on April 15, 2025 and has shutdown on October 1, 2025.

Previews: Teaser; Welcome to the Arena

Tropes in this video game include:

  • Become a Real Boy: Subverted with J-3DI. He isn't just a droid who wants to be a Jedi. He has been programmed to believe that the Force is with him, despite there having been no instances of Force-sensitive droids in Canon. This is because Sprock designed him to be a foil to Rieve and her Sith Lord persona, especially since there are very few actual Jedi left in the galaxy at that point in time.
  • Blind Weaponmaster: Diago is a Miraluka - thus born without eyes - and is a master sniper. Like many members of his species, he can see through the Force.
  • Bounty Hunter: Natch. Aran Tal and Imara Vex are bounty hunters out of the playable cast.
  • Call-Forward: In preview footage, you can see the back of Rieve's head, which has the Sith Eternal symbol tattooed into it.
  • Chainsaw-Grip BFG: Sentinel's main weapon is an E-Web heavy repeater without its tripod stand.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • On the official website, Rieve's character reveal image has her name written in the same font as The Acolyte.
    • One of J-3D1's customizable paint jobs is based on the Jedi Temple Guard look.
    • Sentinel's stormtrooper armor is weathered and rundown, much like the Imperial Remnants in The Mandalorian
  • Damager, Healer, Tank: As with other hero shooters, the game has three main roles being the Damage, Support, And Tank roles.
  • Grievous Harm with a Body: The Wookiee warrior Grozz wields the disembodied arms of an Imperial KX droid like clubs. Said arms supposedly belonged to K-A0S.
  • Healing Shiv: Skora can shoot darts that can heal allies while also poisoning her enemies.
  • Heel: Rieve and Sentinel on the surface, take on the appearance of a Sith Lord and stormtrooper respectively. However, these are entirely stage personas, and Sentinel abandoned the Empire.
  • Hero Shooter: Each character is going to have different abilities, weapons and playstyles, like the heroes of Star Wars Battlefront II (2017).
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: In place of her original arms, K-A0S has a new pair with two halves of a heavy Imperial riot shield attached to them that she can combine.
  • Mini-Mecha: Dizzy, an adrenaline-junkie Ugnaught mechanic, has repurposed a Droideka to be a manually-piloted combat mech for his use, taking up the team name of Slingshot.
  • Mutual Disadvantage: In the gamemode, Snipe and Sneak, a full team of Diago's fight against a full team of Glikkin's. Glikkin has the ability to activate his cloaking device to make him invisible and close the distance and perform a sneak attack to a Long-Range Fighter Diago. Despite this advantage however, Diago has the ability to see through this ability with his enhanced senses. His enhanced senses however only detect enemies in range at the time of activation so if the Glikkin wasn't in range, they could still sneak attack. Both abilities have a set duration and a hefty cooldown, so most fights boil down to who activates their ability last.
  • Mythology Gag: Aran Tal's color scheme is based on how Boba Fett looked in The Star Wars Holiday Special.
  • Padded Sumo Gameplay: In the Zaina-centric gamemode, Take Aim, she can instantly kill anyone headshots but any shot other than that becomes Cherry Tapping. On top of Zaina's ability to dodge, her smaller head, and the blaster bolt being quite narrow, makes each battle last far longer than other one character gamemodes.
  • The Remnant:
  • The Rival: Some hunters are setup against each other in Matchup Clash, with random teammates to accompany the rival hunters.
  • Rocket-Tag Gameplay: Gamemodes such as Boulder Bash and Arrow Assault makes everyone the same character while adding an instant kill attack. For Boulder Bash, it's the eponymous boulder from Grozz while in Arrow Assault, it's a well placed headshot from Nox's arrows.
  • Short-Range Shotgun: Charr likes to get up close and personal with his quarry, and appropriately his scattergun has a very short effective range.
  • Totem Pole Trench: The Jawa characters Utooni are this, being two Jawas in a trench coat. Being one single playable character, this also makes them The Dividual.
  • Unknown Rival: K-A0S joined the arena with the specific purpose of getting revenge against Grozz for stealing her arms from her. However, Grozz barely remembers the incident despite frequently wielding her arms as weapons in the arena (he sometimes wield other droid arms).
  • You Must Be This Tall to Ride: There's a height limit in place in the Arena for shorter hunters such as the Jawas that prevents them from joining on their own. Different methods are used to circumvent this such as, riding a Mini-Mecha (Slingshot, Pilbush) or becoming a Totem Pole Trench (Utooni).
