Due to TV Tropes' policy on spoilers, this page contains uncensored spoilers about the game's features and story. If you are planning on a blind playthrough of Sprunki, it is best to read this page after playing the mod. You Have Been Warned!

Sprunki is an Incredibox mod/fan project created by NyankoBfLol. Like the game this mod was based on, you can drag and drop buttons to blank characters to make them play an instrument.
The mod is known for its adorable looking characters and their tunes, although that one character can make them... severely injured. And that's it.
Hello! Would you like to have some tropes?
- Aerith and Bob: We have color-based names like Orennote , Durple, Tunner, and Pinki, some normalish names like Garnoldnote , Simon, Wenda and Jevin, and some pretty rare names like Clukr, Vineria, brud, and... OWAKCX.
- All There in the Manual: Like many Incredibox mods, the names of the characters were only revealed in the files and by the creator. The latest versions of the Cocrea port and the (now defunct) Incredimake port have updated this, the second page in the gallery now shows an image of every character's names. Except for Voice 5, since he just doesn't have one.
- Amazing Technicolor Population: The Sprunkis have a wide variety of color-based figures that creates the formation of a rainbow, including a color-based names for each member.
- Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: Speaking to the same topic. Some of them are actually animals. Durple is a Purple Dragon, Sky is a Sky-Blue Bear and Pinki is a Pink Rabbit. Averted with Wenda however who's White color based on real-life cats.
- Ambiguous Situation: It's unclear exactly how Mr. Sun, Durple, Mr. Tree, Simon, and Mr. Fun Computer became "abnormal" in horror mode, aside from the implication that Black was the one responsible. Word of God stating that Mr. Fun Computer saying "they are not real" is referring to the abnormal characters only raises more questions.
- Amen Break: Fun Bot's tunes are a modified Amen Break.
- And I Must Scream: In the horror mode, the fact that the characters can still sing for you in the state they're in suggests they're being kept alive somehow, especially since according to Word of God they are very much in abject pain. However, this could also just be Incredibox logic.
- Art-Style Dissonance: Excluding Black, most of the characters retain their cartoony art style in horror mode, even though many of them have also been gruesomely killed or mutilated in some way.
- Blood Is the New Black: Wenda is covered in what is most assuredly not her own blood in the horror mode.
- Body Horror: In the horror mode, most of the characters either get horribly mutilated or have something bad happen to their bodies. The normal looking characters in this mode can be counted on one hand.
- Boom, Headshot!: Tunner's fate in the horror mode.
- Content Warning: When the original Scratch project got taken down, the official Scratch repost adds one to combat reporting. It got reported by somebody and got taken down anyway. However, this was averted in the Cocrea port and the now-taken down Incredimake port, considering that Cocrea's rules aren't as strict as Scratch's and Incredimake didn't have rules against it.
- Contrived Coincidence: The reason why Gray, The Protagonist of horror mode and Jevin, the most mysterious Sprunki on the good side managed to survive in horror mode was because Black just so happened to have forgotten to kill those two specifically.
- Cyclops: Mr. Sun becomes this after you drag Black into one of the blank characters.
- Death of a Child: Sky is said to be 14 years old according to Word of God, but sadly this didn't save him from being horribly mutilated like most of the other characters in the horror mode.
- Disguised Horror Story: This game might look cheery and cute at first, but dragging the black hat on one of the slots makes things go wrong...
- Dreary Half-Lidded Eyes: Most of the Sprunkis have this.
- Easter Egg: Typing "imsosprunki" on a keyboard lets you get access to bonus characters, which are mostly references to other Incredibox mods.
- Excuse Plot: The bare-bones "plot" of Sprunki—the Sprunkis happily performing music until Black joins and things end up going horribly wrong—serves as justification for the mod to have a second phase with creepier visuals and more intense music.
- Eye Scream: Seems to be a recurring theme in horror mode:
- Raddy's left eye has been ripped out of its socket.
- Because the top of his head was cut off, Clukr's hi-hat repeatedly slams onto his eyes.
- Vineria's eyes have been pushed out of their sockets by vines.
- One of Sky's eyes is impaled by a metal rod.
- Gadgeteer Genius: NyankoBf stated that Clukr and Garnold build things together and that they were the ones who invented Mr. Fun Computer and Fun Bot.
- Informed Species: Due to the limited traits and nearly same face syndrome. Some Sprunkis barely resemble their real-life species. Durple is one of the obvious example as he as he lacks the muzzle of a typical dragon and the
Word of God stated that he can neither fly nor breathe fire. And in the Cancelled Update reveals that Durple in Horror Mode has human-like teeth with no visible fangs. - No Ending: Thanks to being an Incredibox mod, Sprunki literally doesn't have an ending, and the conflict of horror mode is never resolved.
- Non-Standard Character Design:
- Jevin's Robe has a neck piece that is place on his body. Making him the only Canon Sprunki to have a body with an additional physical detail. Black does have a tie in Normal Mode despite the fact his Normal Mode design isn't Canon.
- Gray and Wenda have ring-shaped pupils instead of Black Dot Pupils like the rest of the rest of the Sprunkis.
- Pretty Little Headshots: Tunner was shot in the head in the horror mode, but the only change to his appearance besides his expression is a small hole leaking blood in his forehead.
- Propeller Hat of Whimsy: Mr. Fun Computer's appearance has this to show that he usually acts like a child. He loses it in the Horror Mode.
- Rainbow Motif: Exaggerated. All of the characters, save for FUNBOT, Mr. Fun Computer, and Mr. Tree are represented by a color from the rainbow.
- Sailor Earth: With the game's premise and character designs consist of color-based figures who make music to then take on horrific appearances in horror mode, many take on making their own OCs incorporating different kinds of ways they'd make music and be depicted in horror mode, dead or alive.
- Shout-Out:
- Wenda's horror mode sound is sampled from Chinaski by Venetian Snares.
- Oren and Raddy are based on Slick and Fuse.
- Happy Tree Friends:
- Pinki's V5 horror mode appearance is based on the moment in Eyes Cold Lemonade when Giggles' face gets sliced off.
- OWAKCX may be based on Nutty, specifically his horror mode appearance looking similar to Icy You. He also has a non-canon normal appearance, which is based on False Alarm.
- Mard, a character in the gallery, is a reference to Colorbox : Mustard. A fan made addition to the original colorbox.
- Subverted Kids' Show: You thought this was going to be a colourful music-mixing game for kids? Think again. Once you drag and drop the Black one, there's no going back...
- Sugar Apocalypse: The scenery and atmosphere take a hard turn for the worse the moment Black is input, and the characters (except for Fun Bot, Gray and Jevin) become horribly disfigured.
- There's No Kill like Overkill: Whatever the heck Wenda did to Sky.
- Uncanny Valley: There are several in horror mode:
- Black's sprite has a realistic, partially shadowed human face, and his icon has been changed from a top hat to a realistic eye.
- One of the images that flash on Mr. Fun Computer's screen is a close-up of a realistic human face.
- Mr Tree features a missing child poster with a black and white realistic smiling face.
- The clouds have realistic eyes on them, similar to the one on Black's horror icon.
- Exposed teeth such as Raddy's, Garnold's, OWAKCX's and Durple's, are much more detailed. Special mention to Garnold's, as they are an edited image of real human teeth.
- Walking Spoiler: It's impossible to talk about Black without spoiling the game's major twist.
- Wham Shot: Horror mode's mere existence is one, revealing this isn't like your usual Incredibox mod.
- Whispering Ghosts: Mr. Fun Computer's Horror tune.Fun Computer: Something is wrong. They are all DEAD. They are NOT REAL. Look around you.
- Come on! Come sing along with us, in this fun time!
