SonicInHell (Video Game)
Make Sonic suffer.note

SonicInHell, also abbreviated normally as Sonic In Hell, is a short Sonic the Hedgehog horror game where Sonic… goes to Hell.

In all seriousness, this game was originally created by THOANOSCHINA in December 8, 2024, while an unofficial remake would later be created by Green Juega in November 15, 2025. This page covers both of them.

The original game can be downloaded here, while the unofficial remake can be downloaded here.

Due to the short length of the game, all spoilers are unmarked.

SonicInHell contains examples of:

  • Ambiguous Situation: It is unknown why Sonic is repeatedly killing himself or why he has depression in the first place, as it is never explained in-game.
  • Downer Ending: No matter what you do, it all ends with Sonic killing himself and ending up in Hell as a result.
  • Driven to Suicide: Sonic kills himself repeatedly by hanging himself in "Depression", leaping from a tall height in "Jump Off", and finally, jumping in a pit of lava in "Hell".
  • Fire and Brimstone Hell: The level "Hell" is this, as Sonic is sent there after killing himself in both "Depression" and "Jump Off".
  • Hanging Around: In "Depression", Sonic hangs himself, with the aftermath being shown in the Game Over screen.
  • OOC Is Serious Business: In the remake, Sonic visibly has a more sadder look compared to his usual cocky appearance. Since he is normally not the one to give up despite the many hardships he faces, this alone gives away the fact that something is very wrong.
  • Rule of Three: As typical with most Sonic games, Sonic starts with three lives. He loses each one by purposefully killing himself.
  • Sensory Abuse: The original game has very ear-piercing garbled audio that can catch those who have their volume set very high off guard.
  • Shout-Out: The remake uses music that were originally associated with old creepypastas repurposed for the game.
    • The level "Hell" uses a reversed version of the "Song of Healing" track from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, which is most commonly associated with Ben Drowned.
    • The Game Over screen's music is the same music used in the ending in various recreations of Suicide Mouse.
      • The screaming from said recreations can also be faintly heard when Sonic dies in "Jump Off" and amidst the music in "Hell".
