SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters' Clash 2 - Expand Edition is the second game in the SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash series, following SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash (1999), and part of the larger SNK vs. Capcom series. Like its predecessor, it released on the Neo Geo Pocket Color. Unlike its predecessor, it released in a single version and also only released in Japan. Here, Rikuto, a high schooler with potential for being a card fighter, loses against Neomantle who steals Rikuto's cards; now he travels with his friend Haruna in order to reclaim the cards taken from him.
A straightforward Mission-Pack Sequel to the original Card Fighters, Card Fighters 2 offers one rule change: the addition of Reaction cards, AC cards that can be played on the enemy turn while countering attacks.
The second entry has examples of:
- Bag of Spilling: The game starts out with Rikuto losing his cards when he is beaten by "Neomantle".
- Bare Midriffs Are Feminine: In contrast to Rikuto keeping his covered, Haruna's school girl top is narrow enough to expose her midriff.
- Demoted to Extra: The player characters from the first game are now opponents in the game.
- Gender Bender: G-Lady is pretty much G-Mantle, only as the opposite gender.
- Guest Fighter: G-Mantle inspired Neomantle, Robomantle and G-Lady here.
- Long Hair Is Feminine: The female Haruna's hair is waist-length in contrast to the male Rikuto's short hair.
- Pink Is Feminine: Haruna has long pink hair to signify her as the female counterpart to Rikuto.
- Player Character: The player takes control of Rikuto as he tries to get his cards back.
- Punny Name: Cap Com is a play on Capcom, Sys Them is a play on the word "system" and Foru Gotten is based on the word "forgotten".
- Robot Me: Robomantle is a robotic version of G-Mantle.
- Updated Re-release: Card Fighters 2 counts as this. Although is a sequel of the first game(s) and can be played separately without having played the first CFC, you can use your files saved from the first games and get your cards back. Even the title says it's an "Expanded Version".
