Pit Pot (Video Game)
Before we had Alex Kidd, we had Igul.
Princess Lora was kidnapped by an Evil Sorcerer and locked up in his Pit Pot Castle. After no savior returns alive from the monster-ridden palace, it is up to Prince Igul to dress in armor and use the magic hammer to Save the Princess.

Pit Pot has tropes like:

  • Big Bad: The sorcerer is Princess Lora’s kidnapper and has her locked away in a castle littered with beasts.
  • Evil Sorcerer: The sorcerer is the Big Bad and trapped Princess Lora in a castle overrun by monsters.
  • Generic Doomsday Villain: The sorcerer kidnapped Princess Lora. Why? We never get to know.
  • Karma Houdini: While the princess is saved, the sorcerer who kidnapped her never gets any punishment.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain!: The sorcerer’s accidental dropping of a magical hammer is what factors into Igul saving the day when he grabs it.
  • No Name Given: No villain in the game has ever been named.
  • Save the Princess: Princess Lora has been kidnapped by the sorcerer and it is up to Igul to save her.
  • Title Drop: Pit Pot is the name of the castle Princess Lora was locked in and infested with monsters.
  • The Unfought: Igul saves the princess, but does not get into a fight with the sorcerer.
  • Video Game Cruelty Potential: It's entirely possible to kill the princess you're supposed to rescue by breaking off the supporting platform by smashing one of the sole connective tiles, causing her to fall into the abyss.
