This game contains examples of
- Action Girl: Just like with the original, ladies are also welcomed members of the Heroes Guild, and for a majority of the promotional trailers the player character is represented as female, performing heroic deeds like fighting monsters with swords and magic.
- Alliance Meter: Exaggerated: As shown in the Developer Direct, the player builds a reputation through their actions that affects how every individual resident of Albion sees them.
- Doomed Hometown: As stated in the Developer Direct, soon after the hero's powers are revealed, their home village of Briarhill undergoes a disaster that causes the people of the village, including their grandmother, to be turned into stone by a mysterious stranger.
- Forced Transformation: One of the fights in the Developer Direct shows the hero turning their enemies into chickens, shooting one before kicking the other a few yards.
- Karma Meter: As stated in the 2026 Developer Direct, the villagers of Albion will react to you based on your actions. However, the developers stated in the Direct that they specifically wanted to avert Black-and-White Morality by making people have different reactions to you, since most choices and morals aren't inherently good or bad. Most of your choices give you a reputation around the village, such as "Chicken Chaser" for kicking chickens in the middle of the road and "Tycoon" for buying up a lot of businesses. This will result in the villagers having different reactions to you based on your personality — in the same Developer Direct, the Player Character talks to Esther the Merchant, who is shown to dislike the player because they've got the Tycoon and Rich reputations.Player Character: Hello there.
Esther: Yeah, yeah. We get it. You're rich. - A Minor Kidroduction: As stated in the Developer Direct, the game starts with the player as a child, showing them living a normal life until their heroic powers are revealed.
- Mockumentary: Previews state that there are certain segments in which NPCs give their thoughts via cutaway interviews, with The Office being stated as a direct influence.
- Mythology Gag:
- The Humphrey trailer shows this iteration of the Heroes Guild uses the same symbol as the one in the original continuity.
- The Developer Direct showcases several enemies from the original series, including Hobbes, Balverines, Hollow Folk, and Trolls.
- Our Giants Are Different: A vegetable growing giant, played by Richard Ayoade, named Dave, appears in one trailer bemoaning heroes, looking just like Richard Ayoade, but giant. The Developer Direct stream goes into more detail: Dave is a gardener who discovered a magical growth formula and accidentally turned himself into a giant, with the Hero having the option to either kill or spare him; should they kill him, his corpse becomes a part of the landscape and will drive down property values.
- A Pupil of Mine Until He Turned to Evil: Humphrey's trailer ends with the player hero saying a villainess, who he once taught, is returning.
- Retired Badass: Trailers show the character of Humphrey, who was once Albion’s greatest hero and the mentor of the Player Character, speaking about his protégé when he is no longer active, and looking a lot less well groomed as he did in his prime.
- Taken for Granite: The 2026 Developer Direct states that the player comes from a Doomed Hometown called Briarhill. This area has the player walking through the village as their character when they were young. But eventually, circumstances propagate wherein all of the villagers but the main character, including the Player Character's beloved grandmother, are turned to stone by a mysterious stranger.
- Video Game Caring Potential: True to Fable tradition, the player can roleplay as a gallant hero who spreads kindness and positivity towards the people of Albion. As demonstrated in the First Preview trailer, this can range from simply helping them out with a particular problem or making their lives overall better through generous actions like offering good paying jobs for the poor, adopting orphaned children, and so on.
- Video Game Cruelty Potential: As pointed out in the First Preview trailer, the player is also free to be as monstrous as they can towards any NPC they meet in their travels. This includes heinous acts such as buying their lands and evicting them from their homes, or murdering their families just For the Evulz.
- With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: In one trailer a hero comments that since she's a hero, then she should be allowed to do as she likes in growing megalomania.
