- The Casino: At one point, Baxter visits the Royal Flush Casino in Las Vegas to talk to the singer Mrs. Ferroux, who used to be a client of Dr. Bedford.
- Evil Twin: Bedford had an identical twin brother, Joe Castafiore, who was involved with The Mafia.
- Faking the Dead: Christopher Bedford is actually alive: he killed his identical Evil Twin brother Joe Castafiore and made it appear like it was he who had been killed.
- Shout-Out: When Baxter knocks on Bedford's door in Aspen, and he asks who's there, one of the answer options is: "I'm selling these fine leather jackets".
