Our protagonist is Curly, a space plumber whose ship crashes on Earth after being attacked by the evil space clowns. Once on Earth, Curly tells his story to the police who send him to the Planters Asylum. As it turns out, the asylum's warden and his henchman, an evil maniacal genius Julio Googanschmelter Jr., were both abducted by the clowns as kids, and now they want to use the clowns' technologies to conquer the Earth. For this purpose, they're performing experiments on the asylum's patients using a device called Hydroponic Brain-Krisper, so each room in the asylum looks like its inhabitant's inner world and dreams: there is a room that appears as a medieval castle, a Hardboiled Detective's office, a Wild West town, a city full of superheroes, etc. Now Curly has to thwart the warden's plans, escape the asylum and return to his home planet.
A playable demo
was released; a bunch of materials are also available on Lost Media Wiki
.
The game provides examples of:
- Acid Pool: At the beginning of the game, Curly is hanging over a pool of acid. Fortunately, he just happens to have a bottle of antacid in the inventory, so he drops it in the pit and neutralizes the acid.
- The Alcoholic: One of the asylum patients, Cranium Richard III, is an alcoholic actor, and his room looks like a film set.
- Asian Store-Owner: One of the patients, the Indian Hadji Mumupurr, sees himself as the owner of a convenience store (and his room looks like one). He is also very rude to customers.
- Bedlam House: The Planters Asylum, where the patients are test subjects for the warden's experiments.
- The Cameo: Among the clients in the "King's Hut" bar there is Elvis Presley, Ben from Full Throttle, Greedo (who is in this game called "Gweedo"), and Boba Fett.
- The Don: One of asylum's patients (whose room sadly cannot be visited in the demo) is a mafioso known as Don Boyardee.
- Donut Mess with a Cop: One of the policemen, whom Curly meets at the beginning of the game, is eating a donut.
- Groin Attack: In one of the corridors, Curly needs to neutralize a laser beam that keeps hitting him in precisely this place. He does it using a piece of glass.
- Psycho Psychologist: The warden of the Planters Asylum, who experiments on his patients and plans to Take Over the World.
- Shout-Out: One of the film set decorations in Cranium Richard III's room is a green tentacle.
