A Wolf Or Other
is a werewolf murder mystery game built in Roblox.
Every round, one player is randomly selected to play as the Werewolf, another is chosen to be the Hunter, and everyone else becomes a Civilian. The Werewolf's goal is to kill everyone, while the Civilians and the Hunter must survive from the Werewolf. Additionally, the Hunter is equipped with a crossbow, which they can use to kill the Werewolf.
A Wolf Or Other provides examples of:
- Achievement Mockery: There is an achievement for walking into the fireplace in the Winter Village.
- Advanced Movement Technique: The Werewolf can spam their claw-slash attack to move faster.
- Ambiguous Gender: Alden's gender is unknown, as they wear a male Puritan outfit while having long blond hair and a feminine-sounding death scream.
- Fun with Acronyms: The acronym for A Wolf Or Other is AWOO, the onomatopoeia for a wolf's howl.
- Meaningful Name:
- Primrose's outfit is a dress which resembles a primrose flower.
- Fern seems to be the medieval equivalent of a hippie who has flowers and twigs in her hair.
- My God, What Have I Done?: When you shoot a Civilian as the Hunter, your character will drop their crossbow and refuse to pick it up again, as well as clutching their head and seemingly going mad, hence the "madness border".
- Our Werewolves Are Different: The Werewolf can Voluntary Shapeshift between human and werewolf form. Additionally, they can howl as a way to reveal the locations of players around them, rather than howling at the moon.
- This Was His True Form: It is inverted if the Werewolf is shot while in human form, as they will transform into their Werewolf form upon death.
- Would Not Shoot a Civilian: When playing as a Hunter, your only goal is to kill the Werewolf with your crossbow. If you shoot a Civilian instead, the game will punish you by forcing your character to drop the crossbow and making them too guilty to pick up their weapon again.
