Disguised in Drag

Go To

Basic Trope: A man disguises himself as a woman to hide or to infiltrate a place.

  • Straight: Bob disguises himself as Betty to infiltrate Emperor Evulz's castle without being seen.
  • Exaggerated: Albert, Bob, and Carl disguise themselves as Alice, Betty, and Carla with wigs, dresses, makeup, and high-heel shoes to avoid being seen spying on the villain at an event.
  • Downplayed: Bob uses a feminine voice in a telephonic call but doesn't wear women's clothing.
  • Justified:
    • Bob needs to pretend to be another person to infiltrate a place, and disguising himself as the opposite gender will make it easier.
    • Bob needs to get information from a male villain, and pretending to be a woman and seducing him will help.
    • Bob wants to invoke Wouldn't Hit a Girl against a male villain.
    • Bob needs to infiltrate a Lady Land and must look like a woman so he won't be killed by the misandrist people of that land.
  • Inverted:
  • Gender Inverted: Sweet Polly Oliver
  • Subverted: Albert asks Bob if he'll disguise himself as a woman. Bob tells him that he will not do it.
  • Double Subverted: ...Because Carl will do it.
  • Parodied: Bob disguises himself as a woman... and all the men fall in love with him.
  • Invoked: Carl tries this to be One of the Girls in Diane's group of friends.
  • Exploited: Edward accuses Bob of being a sissy and tries to lynch him.
  • Defied: Bob hates feminine clothing, so he tries another plan.
  • Played for Laughs:
    • Bob keeps falling down because he doesn't know how to walk in a dress and high-heels.
    • Many men fall in love with "Betty", and he tries to avoid them. Hilarity ensues.

You'll have to Disguise Yourself in Drag to hide from Evulz.
