Hiveworks Comics is a webcomic publishing studio and collective, founded in 2010 by Isabelle Melançon (of Namesake) and Ashely Cope (of Unsounded). Unlike most of the hosting sites that came before, Hiveworks was among the first to approach webcomic publishing from a professional standpoint; addition to providing a hosting platform for creators to publish their work, they also provide support and resources to help them reach a wider audience and monetize it. They've published more than a few of the most popular and acclaimed webcomics of all time: Girl Genius, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, El Goonish Shive, Cyanide and Happiness, and Awkward Zombie are just a select few of their offerings.

In addition to publishing, they've also produced a number of their own Hiveworks Originals — professional comics fully produced in partnership with selected creators (with a special focus on highlighting queer creators and queer stories). The first comic to be released under the Hiveworks Originals label was Mary Cagle's Sleepless Domain, debuting in 2015.

In April 2025, it was reported that Hiveworks was doing away with publishing print comics in favor of web-hosting and advertisement networks. Many of Hiveworks' own authors were not pleased — seeing this as the latest in a string of bad leadership decisionsand joined forces to create a rival organization, the Chimera Comics Collective.
