Dropgun is a Russian electronic music project originally formed in 2013 by Mike Martinov and Ilyas Kozhahanov. They are known for their collaborations with
DVBBS and
Breathe Carolina. They also have their own sample pack, Dropgun Samples. Martinov left the group in 2020, leaving Dropgun as a solo project of Kozhahanov.
Somebody's troping, oh Lord:
- Animated Music Video: Many of the music videos of their songs feature animated scenes featuring Author Avatars of the two members as well as the group's mascot.
- Cover Version: Two of their collab songs with Breathe Carolina and Kaleena Zanders are cover songs, of "Sweet Dreams" by La Bouche and "Rhythm is a Dancer" by Snap!.
- Crossover: Dropgun Samples have collaborated with multiple other electronic musicians to provide their own sample packs, such as Sevenn, SMACK, Rival, and Tokyo Machine.
- Location Song: Their song "Amsterdam", named for the capital of the Netherlands.
- Motor Mouth: The vocalist in "Earthquake" sings rather quickly.
- One-Word Title: "Pyramids", "Cobra", "Amsterdam", "Earthquake", and "Somebody", amongst others.
