  • The setting of Crystalicum was later used for an RPG of the same name.
  • GURPS 4th edition has Mars Attacks which is based on the Topps cards of the same name rather then the film based on the cards.
  • There are number of supplements detailing Magic: The Gathering settings for Dungeons & Dragons since they are both published by Wizards of the Coast.
    • To tie in with the release of The Art of Magic: The Gathering books, Wizards of the Coast released a series of PDFs called Plane Shift that detail the various planes for use with 5th Edition D&D.
    • D&D Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica is a supplement book about the plane of Ravnica as a setting for 5th Edition.
    • Mythic Odysseys of Theros is a supplement for the plane of Theros for 5th Edition.
  • The humorous RPG parody Munchkin had d20 System books based on it published by Steve Jackson Games. A supplement was also published for Toon.
  • Sentinel Comics: The Roleplaying Game, based on the Sentinels of the Multiverse superhero game.
  • Warlords of the Accordlands published by Alderac Entertainment Group based on their Warlord game.
  • Mongoose Publishing released the WARS Roleplaying Game in 2005, based on the setting of Decipher's WARS Trading Card Game.

  • Altered Carbon The Roleplaying Game, set to come out in 2020 and most likely based more on the Netflix show than the books.
  • Babylon 5
    • The Babylon Project published by Chameleon Eclectic Entertainment.
    • Mongoose Publishing's RPG, first and second edition using the d20 System and short-lived "third edition" using Mongoose's own version of the Traveller system.
  • Blake's 7 Role-Playing Game published by Horizon, the Blake’s 7 fan club, based on Blake's 7.
  • Buffy The Vampire Slayer Roleplaying Game for the Unisystem, based on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The same company also released a roleplaying game for Angel.
  • Carnival Row Role-Playing Guide world guide and setting book for the Cypher System was made available to download for free.
  • Dallas: The Television Role-Playing Game published by Simulations Publications, Inc which you play as characters from Dallas.
  • Doctor Who
    • The Doctor Who Role Playing Game published by FASA in The '80s, which claimed that the Meddling Monk was a previous incarnation of the Master, a theory found precisely nowhere else.
    • Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space published by Cubicle 7. Four editions between 2009 and 2015, bringing it up to the Peter Capaldi era which was titled simply Doctor Who Roleplaying Game.
    • Doctors And Daleks, the next game from Cubicle 7, using rules based on Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition.
    • Doctor Who Solitaire Story Game, a free fan-produced game successful enough to have two editions.
  • Margaret Weis Productions' Cortex Universal System has been used for a number of RPGs based on shows including:
    • Firefly Role-Playing Game, based on Firefly. See above for notes regarding its unique copyright situation.
    • Leverage.
    • Smallville, interestingly, this one had its system severely tweaked to focus more on inter-player (and player character-and-NPC) social interaction than actual action.
    • Supernatural.
    • Battlestar Galactica (2003)
  • The Expanse Roleplaying Game by Green Ronin Games was published in 2022, finally bringing the concept of the franchise full circle.
  • West End Games published Hercules & Xena Roleplaying Game based on Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and its Spin-Off Xena: Warrior Princess using the Legend system variant of the D6 System.
  • Farscape Roleplaying Game published by Alderac Entertainment Group based on Farscape using the d20 System.
  • Heisei Kamen Rider TRPG Masquerade Style is a doujin game based on Kamen Rider.
  • Jeremiah: The Roleplaying Game published by Mongoose Publishing based on Jeremiah using the d20 System.
  • Cubicle 7 published Primeval based on the first three seasons of the Primeval and Primeval Evolution based on seasons 4 and 5.
  • GURPS 3rd edition has a supplement based on The Prisoner (1967)
  • The Power Rangers Role-Playing Game by Renegade Game Studios was published in 2022, with an official expansion book to be released in late 2023 that allows crossover campaigns with The Transformers and G.I. Joe.
  • Stargate
    • Alderac Entertainment Group published Stargate: SG-1 Roleplaying Game based on their Spycraft game in 2003. AEG planned to publish supplements to cover material from the later episodes but they lost the license so it only covered the first two seasons of Stargate SG-1.
    • Wyvern Gaming announced that they are producing Stargate Roleplaying Game for 2020.
  • Star Trek
  • While not a full-blown game placed in that universe, in 2019 Hasbro Gaming (as in the division in charge of games like Battleship) co-released alongside Wizards of the Coast a special edition of the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition Starter Set as advertisement for the third season of Stranger Things with official figurines and Fifth Edition stats for the Demogorgon and Demodogs, stats for the children's D&D campaign characters (like "Will the Wise") and an adventure "written" by Mike Wheeler.
  • The World of Tales from the Crypt published by West End Games based on Tales from the Crypt using the Masterbook system. To mimic the anthology format of the show, the game has rules players to play as beings possessing "shells" - a separate character for each tale of horror rather staying with one for the entire game.

  • The G.I. Joe Roleplaying Game, released in 2022 by Renegade Game Studios. An adventure book released in 2023 allows it to run official crossover adventures with The Transformers and Power Rangers.

  • Broken World was developed by Tom Parkinson-Morgan based on his Kill Six Billion Demons using the Powered by the Apocalypse system and released via his Patreon.
  • Crystal Heart for Savage Worlds is based on the campaign world of Up To Four Players.
  • The Fallen Veil setting from Table Titans has been used for the Kickstarter funded adventures, The Terror of Haverford and Lake of Shadows.
  • GURPS has the PDF only Casey and Andy book for 4th edition.
  • A GURPS book based on Girl Genius was published in 2022.
  • The Kevin & Kell Role Playing Game based on Kevin & Kell using the Action! System.
  • Blind Ferret Entertainment published the Looking for Group Adventures Boxed Set for Pathfinder.
  • The Magical Land of Yeld is a Kickstarter funded game about children who pass through a mysterious door and find themselves trapped in the fantasy world of Yeld from Modest Medusa.
  • Sidekick Quests is a webcomic written as a way to introduce younger players to RPG concepts with a simple companion RPG to play them out.
  • The Underground - A Sam & Fuzzy Role Playing Game created by Damocles Thread Development allows players to have their own adventures in The Underground City of Adventure from Sam & Fuzzy.
  • Witchcraft: Magic of Hereva is a Kickstarter funded supplement for Dungeons & Dragons based on Pepper&Carrot.
