An animated cartoon that airs during nighttime, as opposed to a Saturday-Morning Cartoon which airs during Saturday morning or a Weekday Afternoon Cartoon which airs during weekday afternoons.

Most of the series/specials on this list are aimed only at adults, but some are aimed at kids and families. Child-targeted kids networks such as Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network premiere a significant amount of their original series in primetime.
