Most popular video games are serious business. Although many video games do have funny moments or jokes thrown in, the game itself is by and large played straight. But for some games, the main purpose of the game is not to be serious, but to make you laugh. The game may or may not be otherwise entertaining or challenging gameplay-wise.
A game shouldn't appear on this list just because it has a few jokes in it. For a comedy game, a large percentage of the game should played for laughs rather than played straight. But that doesn't mean it can have no serious scenes or be played straight at times. A good way to decide if a game is comedy is whether it would be considered a comedy if it were a movie.
