This is a Character Sheet for the Pixar film Hoppers.
Humans
Mabel Tanaka

Voiced by: Piper Curda, Lila Liu (young Mabel)
A 19 year old nature lover and college student at Beaverton University. She hijacks a robotic beaver from the Hoppers program in an effort to save her grandmother’s favorite glade from being destroyed to make way for a freeway.
- Accidental Murder: She accidentally squashes the Insect Queen on reflex, slapping her between her hands because she won't stop buzzing at her.
- All the Other Reindeer: It is indicated that she is not well-liked by most people in Beaverton, seen as some weirdo obsessed with nature. It is no surprise that she has no luck convincing anyone to sign her petition to save the glades.
- Animal Lover: She loves animals and supports their protection, so much so that she was outraged with Dr. Sam and Dr. Nisha when she initially thought that Hoppers technology involved experimentation on animals, even calling them sick.
- Character Development: She learns to control her anger before lashing it out and to look out for everyone else after she sees the consequences of her actions.
- Cool Board: She's shown riding a skateboard several times
- Didn't Think This Through: Mabel has a serious problem diving headfirst into situations without thinking her actions all the way through.
- She tries to protest against Mayor Jerry's project to demolish the Glades and build a beltway over it by herself, leading to him just having her forced off the premises by police for trespassing.
- She rallies the Animal Council into fighting back against the humans, not realizing they would take things even further by "squishing the humans" for what they did against animalkind.
- She ends up drawing the swarm of animals to her location after Jerry still decides against cancelling the freeway construction, leading to them finding out about the Hopper technology.
- Establishing Character Moment: The first scene of the movie introduces her trying to free the class pets of her school, resulting in a scuffle with a group of teachers where she bites one of them, establishing her love of animals and her temper.
- Everyone Has Standards: A plot point. As much as she clashes with Mayor Jerry, she doesn't want him dead, and her realization that she basically put a hit out on him by accident is what kickstarts the movie's third act.
- Fatal Flaw: Mabel’s big flaw is the temper she gets when faced with moments of helplessness, leading her to lash out or run her mouth with no regard for the consequences.
- Interspecies Friendship: She, a human teenager, befriends a group of Woodland Creatures, particularly King George, a beaver.
- Jaw Drop: She gets this reaction when she sees, for the first time, King George (a crowned beaver) doing aerobics and the animals around him joining in while music plays.
- Manipulative Bitch: As noble as Mabel claims her cause is, Titus correctly points out, she was lying and using King George, along with all the other animals, to get what she wanted.
- Nice Girl: Despite her fiery temper, Mabel is a sweet girl who just wants to help. And she is not only kind to animals, she spent a whole day helping out an old man with his chores in hopes of convincing him to sign her petition. But even when she found out he was deaf and didn't hear a thing, she just thanked him for his time.
- Nature Lover: Has a deep love of animals and nature, which drives her actions across the movie as she attempts to protect animals and their glade.
- Soapbox Sadie: She's a college activist who makes every effort to protect the forest from being razed, including sharing petitions, confronting the mayor, and even body-blocking demolition sites herself. Unfortunately, Mabel grows more frustrated as she can't seem to get anyone else to care about the cause.
- Secretly Selfish: Eventually Mabel realizes and admits she isn't being driven by wanting to save the animals or the glade, but the grief from missing her grandmother and her own sense of feeling powerless to change anything.
- Tuft of Head Fur: Her beaver form has a tuft of fur shaped similarly her spiky hair.
Mayor Jerry Generazzo

Voiced by: Jon Hamm
The smug mayor of Beaverton whose goal of building a beltway to win over the voters turns him into Mabel’s nemesis.
- Big Bad Wannabe: He acts as the main antagonist for the beginning of the movie but ends up powerless when the Council decides to “squish” him and he needs to rely on Mabel and her allies to help save him.
- Corrupt Politician: Jerry managed to get permission from the state to build the beltway by confirming there were no animals on the land he intended to build on. And apparently he made sure there were no animals by using speakers in fake trees to play noises only animals could hear to drive them out. Illegal? Possibly. Unethical? Certainly.
- Cowardly Lion: Despite his bravado, he is quick to freak out in any weird situation like a normal person would, being a self-admitted coward. However, with a little encouragement, he is willing to put himself at risk for the greater good.
- Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: His elderly mother lives with him and he is shown making her a tasty breakfast and being affectionate with her. In her advanced age she seems to need some form of assistance to get on, and in the past when Mabel directly came to their house, Jerry told her off for harassing him since his mother lived there too.
- Everyone Has Standards: He is not an animal person, so he has no problems driving them out of the glade. However, he never considered fatally harming any of them to attempt finishing his beltway project. Titus doesn't share that sentiment when wanting to squish the humans.
- Ink-Suit Actor: Mayor Jerry is basically Jon Hamm as an animated character.
- Jerkass Has a Point:
- He may seem like a bully who always throws Mabel out of his way, but at one point in a montage of their past arguments, she's shown to have come to his house to rant at him, and he points out that it's his private property where his elderly mother lives and it's not right for her to bother them there.
- At the climax, he completely loses any composure he showed beforehand and angrily rants at Mabel for causing the animals to go so far in taking revenge. It’s noticeably very similar to the speech Titus gave to Mabel just scenes before, and the girl herself can't even disagree; once she calms down, she is more than willing to plan out a compromise.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He has a big ego and comes off strong but starts to truly soften up and starts to actually listen to Mabel and says they should work together and compromise a solution after the glade gets burned by a forest fire.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: Despite Mabel's misgivings about him, he is actually a fair leader who can be reasoned with. When faced with the consequences of his actions towards animalkind, he is willing to work with Mabel to help not just humans but also animalkind. Judging by how much his voters like him, he must be doing a good job as mayor. In the end, He decides to move his Beltway somewhere else while designating the Beaverton Glade as a nature reserve.
- Villainy-Free Villain: He's only a "villain" by virtue of wanting to destroy the glade in order to build a new highway, which is something that happens in Real Life all the time and is seen as a perfectly normal part of expanding a city. And while he may be kind of a jerk at times (and even then, only to Mabel, who openly antagonizes him every chance she gets) and secretly uses speakers in fake trees to drive out the animals (which is unethical), he's also shown to be a very caring son to his mother and, if his approval rating is anything to go by, he's doing a great job as the city's mayor. By the end of the movie, he even decides against razing the glade, cancels his construction project (by building the highway somewhere else) and creates a natural reserve instead.
- What the Hell, Hero?: He tears into Mabel for everything being her fault after Titus uses a robot body with Jerry's likeness to begin his conquest against the humans.
Samantha "Sam" Emily Fairfax

Voiced by: Kathy Najimy
- Big Good: As the inventor of Hoppers, Dr. Sam is the most influential heroic figure in the movie. Even when she is trying to track and capture Mabel it's because she doesn't want the technology to fall into the wrong hands and she's concerned for Mabel's safety due to the effects of prolonged Hopping.
- Eccentric Mentor: A slightly kooky but highly intelligent professor who serves as this for Mabel.
- Jaw Drop: Just like Mabel, she has this reaction when she sees (through a screen that gives access to the vision of the beaver robot that Mabel is using) King George (a crowned beaver) doing aerobics and enthusiastically encouraging the animals gathered around him to do the same, while a music plays.
- Nice Girl: She has the ecosystems best interest at heart and is constantly worried about Mabel's safety and well-being even when she downloads her consciousness inside the robotic beaver.
- Overly Long Name: The character with the longest and most complete name in the film, being "Dr. Samantha "Sam" Emily Fairfax" or "Samantha Emily Fairfax", that's why she is simply called "Dr. Sam".
- Parental Substitute: She serves as the closest thing Mabel has to a mother figure after her grandmother passed away, constantly worrying about her safety and her future.
- Tritagonist: The inventor of the titular technology, a maternal figure to Mabel, and the third in focus after King George and Mabel.

Voiced by: Aparna Nancherla
- Perpetual Frowner: Almost always seen scowling due to Mabel's antics or her annoyance with colleagues like Conner.
- Static Stun Gun: When Mabel enters her and Dr. Sam's lab and discovers the "Hoppers" technology, she takes out one to use on Mabel, but is stopped by Sam.Dr. Nisha: I'll handle her!
Dr. Conner

Voiced by: Sam Richardson
- Comically Missing the Point: The only thing he notices about the Animals actually having a King?Dr. Connor: Where did he get a crown?Dr. Nisha: Really, that is your first question?

Voiced by: Karen Huie
- Animal Lover: She loves animals just as much as Mabel does, being fond of the Beavers, Frogs, Deer, and other critters that inhabit the Glades.
- Cool Old Lady: A nice caring old lady who understands Mabel and knows the right words to calm her down and give her guidance.
- Granny Classic: A sweet, kind grandmother who with Mabel, cooks delicious warm meals with her, and offering her important life lessons that stay with her as she grows up.
- Nature Lover: She really loves nature, taking Mabel out to see the Glades many times just to feel a part of something bigger. The Glades serve as a Tragic Keepsake to Mabel after she passed away, defending them due to a promise she made to her.
- Posthumous Character: Only appears in Mabel's Minor Kidroduction to pass down her wisdom about caring for the environment to her. She passes away during the timeskip to the present day, but her kindness towards nature motivates Mabel to protect the glade in her memory.
Animals
Mammals
King George / Mammal King

Voiced by: Bobby Moynihan
A male beaver who is the King of the Mammals and a member of the Animal Council.
- Abusive Parents: He mentioned growing up with a dad who saw him as a threat to his rule and exiled him. He was brought back because the other forest critters were sick of his rule and wanted him in charge instead.
- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: All he wears is a little yellow crown on his head, which covers his slight bald spot.
- Animal Facial Hair: King George has a brown muzzle that gives an impression of a big, bushy mustache.
- Artistic License – Biology: In real life, beaver colonies are led by females, meaning they are matriarchal. Here, King George is the leader and a male beaver, and at one point, he claims he inherited this position from his father.
- Big Fun: A stout and paunchy beaver who loves to party. His Establishing Character Moment involving him encouraging the Forest animals to do aerobics together.
- Deuteragonist: He is the second character in focus in the film, the first being Mabel.
- DreamWorks Face: He makes this expression (one eyebrow lowered and the other raised, accompanied by a smile) in his poster, which is in this same folder.
- The Good King: Although he didn't set out to be King, he embraces the role with enthusiasm every day and created some rules (Pond Rules!) to help everyone in the pond get along. And with his jovial personality, he is very welcoming to any new animal living there.
- Married to the Job: His mistakes Mabel proposing marriage to him, but he mentions he's married to his job as king, and has no interest in looking for a partner.
- Nice Guy: He's shown to be very cheerful and friendly. He even keeps track of all the animals' names because, according to him, that makes it less likely to get mad at them.
- Photographic Memory: As mentioned above, he can remember the names of every animal that lives in the area, regardless of species (Pond Rule Number One), remembering the name of each beaver, bird, ant, fish, etc. And Mabel stays speechless as he introduces each one by the name.
- Talking Animal: Downplayed. After he and Mabel lose all ability to speak to each other in animal since the Hopper program was scrapped, he learns to communicate with her in a limited fashion through a smartphone and text-to-speech emoticons.
- Turn the Other Cheek: He is noted to be very forgiving even when someone he trusts screws up, with George mentioning trust as like a dam; there are always going to be cracks but they can still patch things up. It's subverted later when finding out the truth about Mabel; even when she can't understand him, his look spells how betrayed he felt. He doesn't forgive her until she earnestly recalls his Pond Rules.
- What's Up, King Dude?: Despite being King of the Mammals, he doesn't show off his authority and treats the animals more like close friends instead of his subjects.
- What the Hell, Hero?: King George calls out Mabel after she accidentally motivates the entire Animal Council to squish Mayor Jerry and the humans, and making everyone on the council go against them after she kills the Insect Queen by accident.
- Wide-Eyed Idealist: George chooses to see the good in everybody and doesn't hold a grudge, not against his father for exiling him, nor towards predators for eating other animals, not even towards humans for tearing down the forest. Mabel considers him naive because he seems oblivious to the fact that humans don't know or care about "Pond Rules", but gradually comes to appreciate his way of thinking.

Voiced by: Eduardo Franco
- Eyes Always Shut: Befitting his laid-back personality, his eyes are almost always closed.
- Meaningful Name: He tends to loaf around and do nothing.
- Nice Guy: He's shown to be very relaxed and easygoing and was even okay with Ellen trying to eat him cause she caught him and was hungry and doesn't hold any grudge against her for the rest of the movie becoming very good friends.
- Oh, Crap!: When he notices Jerry and his workers putting up more mechanical trees.
Ellen Bear

Voiced by: Melissa Villaseñor
- Bears Are Bad News. Subverted. When she's about to eat Loaf, she's simply hungry and following one of the Pond Rules, Loaf even agreed and stated that she has to eat someone to survive.
- The Big Guy: She is the largest and most physically powerful member of George's kingdom and puts her strength to good use many times.
- Flat Joy: She is very unenthused to have caught Loaf, only managing a "Lunch time" and a flat "Yaaaay".
- Gentle Giant: Despite her fearsome appearance, she is also a calm, loyal, and steadfast creature willing to help and protect her friends when needed. She does not even like eating the other animals and only does so to survive as a carnivore.
- Species Surname: Her poster (which is literally in this folder) reveals that her full name is "Ellen Bear", and that's exactly what she is.
- Tomboyish Voice: A female brown bear with a deep voice and the largest animal living in Beaverton Pond.
Insects

Voiced by: Meryl Streep
A female monarch butterfly who is the deceased leader of the Insects and a member of the Animal Council.
- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: When she was still the Insect Queen, she wore a little yellow crown on her head.
- Ax-Crazy: She's shown to be very unhinged just like her son if not way worse and wanting to "squish" Jerry.
- Dead Star Walking: She's played by one of the most acclaimed actresses in all of Hollywood... and her only scene ends with her being unceremoniously killed by complete accident.
- Death by Irony: She talks big about "Squishing" the Humans for their crimes against Animalkind. Only for her to get squished herself by Mabel because she won't stop buzzing in her face.
- Jerkass Has a Point: While she was quite aggressive and harsh about it, she has a legitimate point about Mabel's wishy-washy attitude about dealing with the Humans. She was the one to encourage them to fight back against the Humans to take back the Glades, only for her to tell them to dial back when they advocate for "squishing" Mayor Jerry. None of the other Monarchs are in disagreement about this, and this plays into Mabel's Character Development about controlling her temper and not jumping in headfirst.
- Killed Mid-Sentence: She is telling Mabel how it's "squish or be squished" in the animal kingdom, only for her to actually get squished before she can finish the last word.
- Token Evil Teammate: When Mabel encourages the Animal Council to help in fighting back against the Humans, she is the first to propose "squishing" Mayor Jerry for defying their authority and taking their homes much to Mabel's shock and horror. However, her son Titus turns out to be even worse than her.
- Too Dumb to Live: Not very wise of her to keep harassing an animal ten times her size who ends up reacting like anyone would when an insect keeps buzzing in their face, causing Mabel to squish her accidentally.
- We Hardly Knew Ye: She only has a few scenes until she gets squished by Mabel (accidentally).
Titus / Insect Prince / Insect King

Voiced by: Dave Franco, Eman Abdul-Razzak (young Titus)
A male monarch butterfly (previously a caterpillar) and the son of the insect queen.
- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: Upon transforming into a monarch butterfly and becoming the new Insect King, Titus begins to wear the same little yellow crown that the other leaders of the Animal Council wear.
- Arch-Enemy: To Mabel in the third act.
- Artistic License – Biology: Titus metamorphosises into a monarch butterfly after only a day. In real life, even at its shortest, a caterpillar's metamorphosis process would take over a week to finish.
- Big Bad: After Mabel accidentally kills his mother, he starts leading the animals in their initial plan to murder Jerry. After discovering the existence of the Hopper technology and that Mabel is human all along, Titus forces Dr. Sam and her colleagues to create a robotic human body resembling Jerry for him to hop into as part of his plan to kill every human and animal so insects can come out on top.
- Bratty Half-Pint: He is originally a small, chubby caterpillar who is still arrogant, spoiled, and antagonistic towards everyone. Once he matures into a butterfly, he's still a Psychopathic Manchild.
- Hugh Mann: When he is piloting a robotic copy of Jerry, he does not exactly do a good job impersonating him such as bragging about how great it is to be human or asking people about what bugs they have squished. However, his audience just plays along with it and doesn't question his behavior.
- It's All About Me: Following his mother's death, after only a moment of grieving, he is quick to revel in the power and possibilities that his newfound kingship provides him, and even orders the other Council members to tend to him as he pupates. This is made even more apparent in his Villainous Breakdown; while initially seeming to act in the best interests of the animal kingdom, he admits openly that he plans to betray his comrades to place insects - and by extension, himself - at the top of the food chain. Even after his defeat, his last words are an explosive tirade aimed at the other rulers, right up until the Amphibian King casually devours him.
- Just Desserts: Titus gets eaten by Frog King in one bite after he leaves his Human form.
- Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: Titus seemingly wants to avenge the wrongdoings humankind have inflicted on animals by killing every human at the rally, but in his Villainous Breakdown, he admits that he also intended to murder the other animal monarchs so insects can come out on top, revealing that he really wants to seize power and revenge for insect kind is a secondary goal.
- Omnicidal Maniac: Apparently, purging the entire city of all non-insectile life just so insects can rule the world may not require the slightest ounce of sanity. His mom also suggested squishing the humans too, meaning she doesn't have a bit of sanity either.
- Psychopathic Manchild: While his mother's behavior suggests he wouldn't be able to grow up into a well-adjusted individual, he is still the same insane, immature tyrant as a mature butterfly that he was as a caterpillar.
- Reused Character Design:
- As a caterpillar, he strongly resembles Glordon from the previous Pixar film Elio, especially because of their chubby bodies, small paws, mouth shapes, and invisible eyes. Not to mention that both are royalty of their species.
- He also resembles Heimlich from A Bug's Life; In fact, they both have the exact same body shapes, which is fitting, since they're both caterpillars.
- Redemption Rejection: Taking George's beliefs to heart, Mabel sincerely offers Titus the chance to back down from his murderous scheme and shows him empathy by apologizing for his mother's death. Unfortunately, Titus only pretends to be moved before swiftly mocking Mabel for believing he would change his ways by hearing an inspiring speech.
- Stupid Evil: The worst offender in his last moments, bragging about betraying the council when his body is near them can be a fatal mistake and could just get away from being eaten instead of for doing a tirade.
- Villain Has a Point: After hopping into a robotic Jerry, Titus calls out Mabel for being just like Jerry, accusing her of lying and stealing to get what she wants. She realizes to her horror that he's right, recalling how she initially stole and used the hopper technology for selfish reasons, and briefly enters a Heroic BSoD.
- Villainous Breakdown: Titus loses his composure after his face mask is removed, keeping him from accessing Jerry's phone via face recognition, and in his anger, accidentally reveals his plan to betray and kill the other monarchs due to wanting to avenge all insects that have also eaten by other animals and put the insect species on top.
Birds

Voiced by: Isiah Whitlock Jr
A male goose who is the leader of the Birds and a member of the Animal Council.- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: He wears a little yellow crown on his head, just like the other leaders of the Animal Council.
- Everyone Has Standards: He along with the other monarchs are grossed out when Titus starts to pupate.
- Reaction Shot: He makes his reaction quite clear after Titus traps himself in a chrysalis to begin his metamorphosis.King Bird: That was gross.
- Scary Teeth: He's a goose, and also has sharp teeth (which are called tomia, and are projections of keratin that are part of the beak).
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here!: When things start to go out of hand, he quickly hightails it.
Fishes

Voiced by: Ego Nwodim
A female fish who is the leader of the Fish and a member of the Animal Council.- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: Like the other animal leaders, she wears a little yellow crown on her head, which sits just above her green seaweeds hair, likely helping it stay firmly in place.

- Plant Hair: She has a hair made out of green seaweeds.

Voiced by: Vanessa Bayer
- Affably Evil: Despite her obvious threatening appearance she's actually shown to be very polite to other animals and even takes the time to tell Mabel to get out of the way so she can dispose of Jerry.
- Giant Flyer: With the help of a flock of birds, Diane is carried out of the ocean and into the sky to hunt down her landborne targets.
- Go-Getter Girl: George says she's the best.
- Ink-Suit Actor: Diane the shark smiles in Vanessa Bayer's signature wide toothy grin.
- Professional Voice Dissonance: While she looks and sounds as scary as a great white shark, her personified voice is cheerful and polite.
- Punch-Clock Villain: She is an attack animal used as an Apex Predator to terminate anyone the Animals want to "squish". But she is not sadistic or mean about it, treating it just like another duty with no hard feelings. Off the clock, she is willing to help her fellow forest critters just as easily.
- Scary Teeth: She is a shark after all with very sharp teeth.
- Slasher Smile: Her default expression.
- Species Surname: Her poster (which is literally in this folder) reveals that her full name is "Diane Shark", and that's exactly what she is.
- Threatening Shark: She's a shark assassin sent to dispose of Jerry.
- What the Hell, Hero?: As she falls back into the ocean, she chastises Mabel for interfering for not letting her kill Jerry.
Amphibians

Voiced by: Steve Purcell
A male frog who is the leader of the Amphibians and a member of the Animal Council.- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: The only thing he wears is a little yellow crown on his head, just like the other animal leaders.
- Everyone Has Standards: He along with the other monarchs are grossed out when Titus starts to pupate.

- The Dividual: They are only ever referred to collectively as the Reptile Queens, and they are never seen separately or individually.
- Everyone Has Standards: They along with the other monarchs are grossed out when Titus starts to pupate.
- Gossipy Hens: In their case, "Gossip Snakes". Their interests include gossiping, mockery, trying to end Council meetings early because (for them) they’re boring and stupid, and making fun of other animals for having legs.
- Snakes Are Sinister: They are shown to have a terrifying personality, and are often prepared to attack at any occasion.
Tom Lizard

Voiced by: Tom Law
- Advertised Extra: He was the first character to be shown, as early as the film's teaser, making you think he'd be involved in the plot in a big way. But he's not.
- Breakout Character: He's the character chosen to be given a skin in Fortnite for the Hoppers bundle.
- Fish Eyes: His eyes are often on opposite sides of his head and he is cross-eyed.
- Lovable Lizard: He's shown to be very affectionate and cheerful.
- Nice Guy: Very friendly and kind to others.
- Species Surname: His poster (which is literally in this folder) reveals that his full name is "Tom Lizard", and that's exactly what he is.
- Token Good Teammate: He is a reptile but he lives with King George and has become good friends with them, and remains loyal to him after the other kingdoms declare war on humanity.
