Tokino Sora [JP: ときのそら; CN: 时乃空]

Birthday: May 15th, 2000
Height: 160 cm
Fanbase name: Sora-tomo (そらとも) / Sora's Pals
Illustrator: Ikaki
3D modeler: schwarz
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter
Age (at debut): 17
Affiliation: Sora Train, Sora Guild
Occupation (bar idol): CEO of Sora Train, Founder of the Sora Guild (in Minecraft)
hololive's first virtual idol. She's cheerful and easygoing, and she has a fondness for singing and horror games. Despite being the daisenpai of all the other girls, she dislikes being put on a pedestal or treated differently because of her seniority. She has always dreamed of performing in Yokohama Arena.
- Animal Motifs: Bears. Her sidekick, icon, and occasional outfit are based around them - a fitting symbol for someone like Sora who worked her way up from nothing, since bears are frequently associated with strength, protection and determination.
- Authority Sounds Deep: While Sora is normally softspoken, she can pull off a rather impressively-deep voice when she needs to
. - Beware the Nice Ones:
- Hologra tends to play this up, along with her Surprisingly Creepy Moments, such as having a murderous intent, or giving someone an Implied Death Threat; these moments are typically Played for Laughs.
- Crosses over with Mama Bear during the HoloX introductory episodes, where she initially showed up to defend Iroha until she found out that Iroha had been trying to defeat the strongest members of the other generations only to bite off more than she could chew, and then when the rest of HoloJP confronts La+ over all of her attempts to harm or sabotage the other generations.
- Deliberately invoked during Baelz's 3D showcase, where Sora was requested to demonstrate what it's like when she's "very, very angry". The result left Baelz, Fubuki, Subaru, and the chat genuinely terrified due to how drastic of a departure it was from Sora's usual cheerful demeanor.

- Clock King: Living up to her name, Sora is very punctual and has excellent time-management skill, always arriving early to any event or appointment, and she had never been late. She's so punctual and precise in arriving early that the only thing her manager asked her to fix was to not come too early, and the one time she mistook an appointment time for being an hour later than it actually is, Sora was still able to arrive on time.
- Comedic Sociopathy: Downplayed as she isn't as sadistic or insane like some of her genmates or kouhais, but when she appears in certain Hologra episodes, she emits murderous intent which includes a Death Glare. The person at the receiving end are understandably freaked out.
- Cool Big Sis: After Iofi expresses her desire to be someone's younger sibling (since she's the oldest of her siblings and is curious what having an older sibling would feel like), Sora offers to be her big sister. Iofi happily accepts, largely referring to her as "Sora-nee-chan" from then on.
- Curtains Match the Window: When she's not wearing her color contacts (as seen in her original model and casual outfits), her eyes are the same chocolate brown color as her hair.
- Determinator: Best shown when she had to shoot for Watanuki-san Chi no, Virtual-san wa Miteiru, practicing for 1-on-1 live with Ginga Alice and recording her own songs, as revealed here
. It was shot in December during winter break back when she was still a student, and because it was a chance to do her job without impacting her studies, Sora was absolutely swamped with work to the point that she had to stay at a hotel during the entirety of winter break instead of going home. Not only that, she still had to stream at least once a week, and because she's already dead tired when she did so and couldn't reveal any of her projects, many of the comments were particularly mocking and vicious despite the efforts of her loyal fans to drown them out; combined with practically having no time left for herself, the fact that Sora managed to trug on without breaking down is a testament to her determination. - Don't Call Me "Sir":
- Justified. While she is the ultimate senpai, she is also one of the youngest members in the Japanese branch so she doesn't prefer nicknames denoting superiority such as "Goddess" and wants her kouhais and fans to see her as an equal or a friend. See Lonely at the Top below.
- In Kanata's 1st birthday stream
, Sora sends a congratulatory video in which she pokes at Kanata for being unable to speak with her normally on account of being her Fangirl. Though Played for Laughs, Sora does express she would have preferred Kanata to speak with her normally, rather than the Nervous Wreck Kanata becomes in her presence.
- The Dreaded: Played for laughs, where Sora's status as the most senior idol and her capacity for surprisingly solemn, serious reactions served to deter her juniors from antagonizing her in any way, as no one would dare to be on the receiving end of her legendary Implied Death Threat, regardless of whether they're regular mortals or possibly-immortal and ageless supernatural beings.
- Elegant Classical Musician:
- Sora has been playing the piano since she was four years-old and has learned how to use at least six other instruments.
- She is trained in singing opera and demonstrates it in her August 6, 2021 stream
by singing "Caro mio ben" and "Star vicino". Two weeks after that, she does a singing stream
that is all classical music.
- Evil Twin: Sora begins one of her covers by introducing one
. Essentially a Palette Swap of her usual avatar, with a very light shade of brunette hair, golden eyes, and darker set of clothes which are otherwise identical with her default. As Sora explains in the subsequent stream
, her main purpose is meant to be an Older Alter Ego, but Sora uses the two models separately enough it comes across as more of this trope. - The Face: Of Hololive as a whole, as she is the defacto representative of the company when it comes to general appearances and interviews. For all intents and purposes, Sora represents the entire company as their original idol who shouldered it as it grew until it became popular. The company would not exist as it does without her hard work, paving the way for her own fame as well as that of her kouhais. Overall, she represents Hololive's determination to reach it's current success from it's more humble beginnings.
- Girls Love Stuffed Animals: Her long-time sidekick is Ankimo, a living teddy bear.
- A God I Am Not: Frequently, she tells her chat she is not a goddess (or a deity in general), and it extends to using "-sama" to address her. Kaela however ends up calling her one until she calls her a "Minecraft God", and Kaela ends up pulling this trope as well.
- Guest Fighter: Sora is one of the six members chosen to represent hololive during a 2019 collaboration event with Azur Lane, taking on the role of Aircraft Carrier.
- Hyper-Competent Sidekick: A-Chan serves as one for her, being her manager, technician, and occasional co-star rolled into one, as Sora herself has little knowledge of computers and software.
- I Have Many Names: One of the things she's famous for is her ever-increasing list of nicknames. "Tokino Soda" is the most persistent among them. "Soda" and "Sofa" are also favorites among the Soratomos.
- Immune to Jump Scares: Sora barely reacts to jump scares in horror games.
- Implied Death Threat: When Minato Aqua declared that she's part of the Hololive Resistance, and Sora replied, in an innocent tone, "Ja, teki da ne?" ("じゃあ、敵だね?"), or "So you're an enemy?", which immediately caused Aqua to buckle; it has since been immortalized as part of her character. Sora has gone on record explaining that this was completely by accident
; she thought that Aqua, by declaring that she's part of the Hololive Resistance, is essentially saying that she's an enemy, and Sora is not part of the Resistance. - Innocent Blue Eyes: Her models starting from Spring of 2018 have these, though her original one and her 2021 casual outfit have brown eyes to go with the brown hair. The reveal stream
for her casual outfit has her explaining that the blue eyes are actually color contacts. - Innocent Means Naïve: Subverted. She's considered the traditionally "pure" idol of hololive, even though she does not try to maintain such an image. When she was playing I Am Part-time Worker!!, she once came across a nuisance customer who snuck into the konbini office to watch pornography on the computer; she smacked the customer in the head with a crowbar and told him to watch that stuff at home, much to the surprise of chat. She's since gone on record saying that just because she acts cute and wholesome doesn't mean she's stupid or naive regarding more risqué matters; she just doesn't feel the need to talk about them publically.
- Innocent Swearing: Her Meme Review collaboration with Coco exposes her to the word "Motherfucker", a word she is not familiar with. When they encounter a meme where it says "Coco is going to try to make Sora say Motherf*cker", Coco adamantly refuses to do so. She ends up saying it anyway, and a stunned Coco asks her to say it again, which she does.Sora: [confused] Motherfucker?
Coco: [wincing] AGH, NO! SHE SAID IT! - Language Barrier: Downplayed. Sora can understand English to a small extent, but by her admission she isn't at all good at it. On the other hand, when asked to sing a song with English lyrics, she can pull it off without any issue
. Her diction however appears to be improving over time, with her making an effort to communicate with her overseas viewers; she even goes so far as to purchase an Japanese-to-English dictionary
to aid in her communication in the language. - The Leader: She's considered the leader of all the hololive idols, and as such there is a considerable amount of respect and formality given to her.
- Living Toys: Ankimo, her teddy bear sidekick. He appears in both inert and living — albeit non-speaking — forms, and Sora likes to talk through him in a squeaky voice.
- Lonely at the Top: She is the DAI-Sempai, the one who carried Hololive into stardom, because of this everyone in both Hololive and Holostars treats her with almost god like reverence and respect, more then a few become nervous wrecks just talking to her, but Sora would much rather everyone just treat her normally. Starting in 2023 Sora began to work at breaking her own pedestal, first by doing more collabs, as well as engaging in more pranks and shenanigans with the others. The Sora-tomo also helped with this by actively discouraging new members from calling her a "Goddess" and trolling her as much as they do others, usually by giving her ridiculous nicknames such as Soda or Sofa.
- She had expressed on some occasions that she could never be someone's kohai within hololive, though luckily her fellow veteran peers Siro and Kizuna AI offered the olive branch to be in close contact with her for that expressed purpose.
- Modesty Shorts: Blue ones, unique in them being present from the start rather than being a later addition enforced by Youtube's stringent policies.
- Nerves of Steel: Sora very rarely gets scared when playing horror games, and on the few times she does, she's merely brought to Stunned Silence than screaming.
- Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant: She tends to play this role in the [Horror] labeled Holo no Graffiti episodes, and plays the main antagonist and protagonist of hololive ERROR.
- Not So Above It All:
- Her roles in Holo no Graffiti are slowly involving her in increasingly weird contexts, such as a ghost doppelganger, reading stereotypical Tsundere lines, becoming a piano, and at one point making a real katana out of paper with murderous intent. All but one of those moments were Played for Laughs.
- It's been elaborated that she actually wants and wishes to join in the shenanigans of her fellow talents, since while every girl in multiple branches tend to be quirky, but deliberately downplaying their quirks around her, this actually makes her feel lonely, since she wants to have as much fun as her genmates and kouhais. As such, she joins in Pekora pranking whoever "blew up" Ankimo Mountain, joined Coco's Meme Review (which spawned the legendary meme of her uttering the word "Motherfucker"), and just wants to have as much fun with them. Luckily, the other girls recognize this and let her in on the fun.
- Photographic Memory: Implied.
- During a stream
where all of the 0th gen got reviewed by their respective managers, an interesting tidbit about Sora that her manager noticed is that she's able to perfectly remember randomly-generated passwords, and Sora herself confirms that she never notes down any of her passwords, being able to recall them just fine when she needs it. - Sora had shown a surprising level of familiarity with her fans
, being able to perfectly remember so many of her regulars and what they did: from youtube commenters and regulars, to twitter users who either draw an art of her, mentioned her, liked her, or reposted any of the above, and to those who attended her real-life events; as long as someone had done any of the above, then it's highly likely that Sora remembers them in one way or another. And even when people tried to hide by changing their profile pictures and names or created a sub-account, Sora remembers their individual quirks anyway (such as the way they write, the kind of illustration chosen for their profile pictures and how often they changed either their names or pictures), so it's useless trying to hide from her
.
- During a stream
- Plucky Girl: Sora is a very positive and optimistic girl, and she herself admits that this is part of the reason why she managed to endure Hololive's brutal early years without quitting; she simply believes most of the time that when things get hard, it will eventually work out in the end.
- Seen It All: As the Dai-senpai of Hololive who debuted at a time when the amount of V-tubers could be counted on one hand, Sora had seen and gone through things many of her juniors had never experienced or could even imagine. She even admits that her sense for things like hardship in V-tubing is dulled and won't serve as a good reference for her juniors.
- Shout-Out: Her 2023 birthday outfit is heavily inspired by the outfit Ai Hoshino from Oshi no Ko wore when going incognito.
- Token Wholesome: Despite not really trying to maintain such an image, she's considered to be the one traditionally "pure" idol of the group. Incidents like the swearing mentioned above are few and far between. This seems to extend to her depiction in Azur Lane, as "special touching" her normal skin just has her talk about cheering up the commander (though her other skin has a reaction).
- Tsundere: She of all people pulled the cliché Tsundere lines in How to Invoke a Kaiju Hologra, but as a Type B.
- Womanchild: Played for Laughs. A-chan once stated that Sora has become more and more childish as the years have gone by. Evidence for this is Sora making random sounds during her streams similar to Baby Talk. The Soratomos have gotten in on it too, prompting her to respond with "Not Baby".
- Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Sora is frightened of wriggly things like worms, being one of the few things that can actually elicit a terrified reaction from her.
Roboco-san [JP: ロボ子さん; CN: 萝卜子]

Birthday: May 23rd
Height: 154 cm
Fanbase name: Robosernote (ろぼさー)
Illustrator: kuromaru9
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter
Alias: Roboco-san, Cutting-edge Robot, Roborobo (by Korone)
Age (at debut):17
Species: Android
Place of origin: Unknown, found in a faraway wasteland
- Affectionate Nickname: Korone gives her the nickname "Roborobo".
- Art Evolution: Roboco's model received a touch-up in late 2022, giving her a rounder, more polished face, changing her old wolf cut to the fluffy waist-length hair of her Regal costume and adding small triangular antennae to the sides of her head. Her default outfit was also changed from the old midriff-bearing camo jacket to a baggy pink hoodie.
- Big Red Button: There's a bright red button on the back of her neck that even she is unsure of what it does. Kiara relates to that seldom-explored attribute during their Holotalk episode given she has a similar taboo concerning her belt (which would transform her into a phoenix if used), and recommends that Roboco puts some tape on the button to avoid accidentally triggering it.
- Chained by Fashion: Her Regal outfit has a set of handcuffs and a collar with short trailing chains.
- Connected All Along: Koyori Hakui, the researcher of holoX, is revealed to be Roboco's creator, but Roboco's memories of that have been wiped. Roboco also inherited Koyori's clumsiness, and it is so ingrained into Roboco's programming that Koyori could not program it out, no matter what she does.
- Cute Clumsy Girl: hololive is full of clumsy people, but Roboco is arguably the one with the biggest reputation for being "pon", with there being many instances of her forgetting stuff, breaking things and generally falling over (sometimes even on-stream
). One official short
even has her accidentally total holoX's hideout just by being her usual klutzy self, with her barely even getting her foot in the door before falling down the stairs and getting crushed by a bookshelf. In a collaboration stream with Koyori
, Roboco also reveals that she inherited her "pon" tendencies from Koyori, and they cannot be programmed out, no matter what Koyori does. - Does Not Like Spam: Really dislikes tomatoes, to the point where unknowingly drinking tomato juice in a challenge
causes her to blow a fuse and fall over. - Girly Bruiser: She's a strong robot girl with the most adorable battlestation.

- Jack of All Trades: Her content is rather wide and varied, featuring the usual gaming and singing, alongside ASMR, chatting, cooking, eating and even video shorts.
- Laser-Guided Amnesia: Koyori revealed sometime after her debut that she was actually Roboco's creator, but Roboco somehow lost her memories of her at some point.
- Little Bit Beastly: Often shows up on stream with either cat ears or rabbit ears on her head.
- Major Injury Underreaction: She loses one arm in one of the animated shorts
and brushes it off with a calm disposition. She gets a replacement not two minutes later. Almost one and a half years later, this becomes a Brick Joke at the end of Help! I'll be Burned!
. - New Powers as the Plot Demands: holo no graffiti really likes to play fast and loose with Roboco's android nature, with her displaying functions like enhanced hearing, a social media database and a Beehive Barrier in various episodes. Perhaps the pinnacle of this is "The Invading Forca", where Roboco fights the orca menace with a voice-activated Wave-Motion Gun and later turns into an excavator, all accessed through an arcade fightstick on top of her head.
- Non-Standard Character Design: Roboco is one of the only members of Hololive who, at least initially, lacked cel-shading to her model, making her come across more like a CGI model as opposed to a model-converted cartoon drawing.
- Pants-Free: She doesn't actually have pants or any underwear on in her default outfits. She has robotic parts that cover up her crotch, parts of her butt, and the inner parts of her thighs, making it look like she's wearing chaps. It's not noticeable most of the time anyway as she only shows her upper body in most streams.
- Ridiculously Human Robots: Aside from the obviously robotic bits that are barely visible half the time due to her clothing and her avatar being shown from the chest up, she's basically indistinguishable from any other idol that's flesh and blood at first glance. Despite being mechanical, Roboco still has to eat and sleep, and she has the whole range of emotions that a normal girl has. Some of her alternate outfits up the realism game even further by putting flesh-colored "sleeves" over the robotic parts of her arms, leaving only her hands uncovered (and thus making it look more like she's a regular girl wearing gloves than a robot). She's also prone to bits of clumsiness, like a normal human, and this is because Koyori, her creator, hard-coded her pon tendencies to the point where even she could not program it out.
- Robot Girl: In all her High-Spec glory. She isn't called Roboco-san for nothing.
- School Uniforms are the New Black: Out of everybody in hololive ERROR's cast, she is the only one to wear the Aogami High School uniform often, even if her content at the time has nothing to do with ERROR whatsoever.
- ASMR Video: Features as a prominent part of her content and it comes in many types.
- Super-Strength: She's noted to be incredibly strong, which makes sense on account of her being a machine.
- Token Non-Human: Roboco is the only non-human member of her generation, being a robot.
- Uniformity Exception: Unike the other 3D only talents (Sora, Miko and AZKi), her model was made by Kuromaru, which allowed her to get accessories and outfits faster than them. Unlike others, her top could be entirely removed, revealing only strategically placed metal pieces on her breasts keeping things from going full R-18. This is still too much for YouTube's rules, so this detail is mainly seen in full in fanart and Kuromaru's older works (the racy foot day tweet art being among them).
- Unlimited Wardrobe: She has the most alternate outfits of any member, with her having at least 8. Although these outfits inevitably repeat, she tends to not wear the same one consecutively and constantly alternates.
- What Measure Is a Non-Human?: Ironically enough, despite being an android, she's made more than a few comments hinting at a desire to eat Pekora and Watame.
Sakura Miko [JP: さくらみこ; CN: 樱巫女]

Birthday: March 5th
Height: 152 cm
Fanbase name: 35P (みこP / MikoP)
Illustrator: Yūichi Tanaka
3D modeler: schwarz
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter
Alias: Mikochi, Elite Miko, Demon Lord Miko, Chappy
Age (at debut): 18, aging at the rate of 0.1 per year
Affiliation: Shikemura ELITE Construction —> Shiranui Construction, MiComet, Hoguchi Live
Occupation (bar idol): Shrine maiden, CEO of Shikemura ELITE Construction —> Education manager of Shiranui Construction (in Minecraft) President of Hoguchi Live (in Grand Theft Auto V)
Night after night, chasing after dreams
To prevent them from decaying away
Swaying, swaying, let's dance
I'll chant a poem until the break of dawn
Associated characters: Kintoki [JP: 金時] (shikigami/pet cat), Mikodanye [JP: ミコダニェ] (Super-Deformed Literal Split Personality)
An elite shrine maiden from the Virtual Sakura Shrine. She went about her duties until, under the command of the gods, she went to Japan and discovered Sora. Miko came to admire her so much that she decided to become a shrine maiden idol. Despite being "elite", she tends to possess very questionable decision-making skills, speaks in a very garbled manner, and often acts in a much more vulgar manner than her station would suggest. She also rivals Roboco in being "pon".
- Animal Motifs: While it is of lesser importance compared to the actual animal people, she has a cat motif along with her Miko and sakura motifs. This is emphasized in her second outfit and her personal greetings ("Nyahello!"). Her casual outfit makes the motif more obvious by giving her a brown cat-eared beret as an optional accessory. Her 2022 outfit took this the furtherest of all, by including an optional cat-eared hoodie and a cat tail.
- Art Shift: When she collabs with other hololive members, her guests tend to use their 3D model instead of their usual appearance, presumably for consistency's sake as Miko is one of the few members who's been 3D since her debut. Some examples of this include her A Way Out playthrough with Korone and her GTA Online sessions with Suisei.
- Ascended Fangirl:
- When Miko was sent by the gods to Japan, she found out about Sora and came to admire her immensely, eventually becoming a virtual shrine maiden idol.
- As a fan of Eroge games, Miko, along with Marine and AZKi, did a song for a visual novel called Aikiss 2.
- In collaboration with well-known eroge studio ALcot she got her own short visual novel, Sakura-iro Dreamer, based on her life before she joined Hololive.
- The Baby of the Bunch: Not appearance-wise, but in terms of personality. Given her Womanchild tendencies and childish voice, Miko is often referred to by fans and fellow talents as a baby, and on the occasions where she and Luna interact, it often devolves into a contest to see who can out-baby the other. Miko being Miko, demands that if people are going to call her a baby anyway, they have to specifically refer to her as an "Elite baby", or else. This further gained traction when her official Nendoroid by Good Smile Company
actually comes with a baby-sized body swap, bib and all. - BFG: She gained a pink M202 FLASH
as an accessory option in late January 2024
, complete with a small 35P carrying the launcher's name tag. - Big "SHUT UP!": One of her catchphrases is "Damare!"
(or rather, "Dyamare!", due to her unique accent), typically shouted out loud in an attempt to shut someone up or to vent frustration. - Born Unlucky:
- In spite of her love for gambling, Miko is astoundingly unlucky, nearly always getting the short-end of the stick when it comes to RNG, betting games, and even Rock-Paper-Scissors against a pre-recorded Watame. Numerous stories from real life and her childhood also oftentimes mention countless incidents of misfortune. This is all made even more ironic because sakura trees are symbols of good luck.
- Given how many times a misplaced bucket of lava ruined her day
in Minecraft, it's safe to say her bad luck extends farther than just gambling minigames. In fact, her unfortunate accidents with lava are so infamous that they're referenced in other media, like a bucket of lava accessory for her official Nendroid or lava being an occasional Miko-centric plot point or Running Gag in hololive - Holo no Graffiti. - Even when lava's not involved, she's still unlucky, as the very first amethyst geode she broke open contained tons of creepers ready to blow her up
— meanwhile, everyone else who streamed the Cliffs and Caves update had relatively peaceful first impressions. - It doesn't even have to be lava. Iroha's crashed helicopter will do
, causing mass chaos in the Hololive GTA server parking lot and killing several of the others. Miko does not die, but is close enough to inevitably catch fire and run screaming across the screen. Calli's deathcam is in the perfect position to watch and Calli herself is practically in tears laughing when she sees it.
- Bratty Half-Pint: Miko is 152 cm (a hair under 5’0”) tall, which is noticeably short, and she's a very frequent complainer as a result of her bad luck and Butt-Monkey status.
- Breakout Character: Due to Miko's immense popularity, during July and August of 2021, she held a special collab with a café chain where certain branches in Akihabara, Japan would get themed as Sakura Miko's Elite Café
, which would be redecorated with a Miko theme, served Miko-themed food, and even was given her own mascot Mikodanye. - Butt-Monkey: One of Miko's core characterisations is her tendency to get bullied over her clumsiness, whether it's in onstream roleplay or in Holo Gra, expect many jokes to be made at her expense.
- The Cameo: She appears as an alternate outfit for Kiriko in 100% Orange Juice!.
- Catchphrase: Her signature "Nyahello", which is inspired
from Yui Yuigahama, only changing it from the original "Ya-hello". - Characterization Marches On: When she first debuted, Miko was supposedly a pure, articular, soft-spoken and polite (if lazy) shrine maiden sent by the Virtual Gods to our world to become an idol, and through that learn of popular culture to enrich the realm where she came from. Somewhere down the line, she gradually drifted away from that description and became the foul-mouthed, unintelligible Comedic Sociopath Womanchild she is today, with no further mention of her mission from her Master. The only remaining traces of her original self are the name and her cat Kintoki, who has largely been Demoted to Extra.
- Cherry Blossom Girl: Her character is themed around this, with her surname being Sakura, having pink hair, and having a Cherry Blossom motif.
- Commonality Connection: Develops one with Zeta over their shared clumsiness. In a Minecraft stream, when watching Zeta get in a ride, only to prematurely leave the minecart and get stuck, Miko breaks her free. Zeta apologizes for the trouble and admits that she is "pon", but Miko also says that she is pon. When she says "pon friend", Zeta was more than happy to hear that.
- Continuity Nod: The Holo Graffiti episode "Help! I'll be Burned!
" revolves around Ayame egging on Miko with a lava bucket. - Cool Shades: Miko is frequently pictured with a pair of sunglasses, seemingly going along with her elite status, it is often present even in her Minecraft skin. The Miku Miku Dance model of her first outfit even has an option to equip one of these.
- Cute, but Cacophonic:
- Miko's normal speaking voice is already very high-pitched and nasal for her age — almost sounding like a squeaky toy on occasion — but she tends to play this up even more while on-stream, not helped by how she will occasionally turn on the reverb by mistake and crank the volume up to a truly ear-piercing level. Her Motor Mouth tendencies also make her speech almost unintelligible sometimes because of her unique accent, which has been described by many as sounding similarly to the babbling of a toddler. She has been jokingly called a baby by the chat
on many occasions because of this, and it's even referenced on her own Nendroid figure; which has a baby-sized body swap option
◊ of Miko in pink onesies and a bib, as well as a head swap of her with a pacifier. - And then for probably her greatest example of it, there's her... rather enthusiastic rendition
of Ode to Joy in her Trombone Champ playthrough. Simply put, it has to be heard to be believed.
- Drives Like Crazy: A common joke among her chat is that being in a car with her is a death sentence. Any game with driving as a major element is fair game. Assetto Corsa? Check.
Euro Truck Simulator? Check.
Grand Theft Auto V? Oh freaking boy.
In those streams, chat will be filled with fans simultaneously laughing their heads off and begging for their lives, and Miko sometimes plays along for comedy. For instance, she will "tie up" the chat and force them to be her passengers. She'll also often turn her avatar around and put herself in the driver's seat just to make the situation more absurd. - Early-Installment Weirdness: Miko had one of the most substantial character evolutions across all of hololive. When she debuted, not only did she have a completely different design (with a different outfit and short hair that was darker in tone, to the point it was almost red), her demeanour was almost the polar opposite of what it is today, as she acted like a quiet, somewhat reserved "big sister"-type. As her career went on, she found she got a much more positive reception on the streams where she was more of a goofball, resulting in a slow-and-steady evolution to the Miko of today, where she is much more energetic and childish. The shrine maiden elements of her character, while still present, were also emphasized much more in her early days.
- Even the Subtitler Is Stumped: Once told a story about how a staff member had shown her a clip of herself and asked what she was saying, as they needed to write subtitles for a blu-ray. However, even Miko herself couldn't understand what she was saying.
- Failure Hero: While on collabs, there's a 50/50 chance of her winning, on her own channel where she's the main focus, 9 times out of 10, she never wins at competitions, which she's always quick to lampshade. Of note is Watame's Tsunomaki Janken series, which Miko is a big Fangirl of, but never wins at, despite the outcomes being predetermined.
- Fashionable Asymmetry: Miko only wears one stocking on her left leg, with her right being left bare.
- Game Mod: Around May 2021, Miko had good time installing various Miko-themed mods on her Minecraft game like MikoP villagers and Miko-faced Ghasts.
- Girlish Pigtails: She has a pair of low-worn pigtails in her casual outfit.

- Goroawase Number:
- 35 ("mi-ko"). Her fanbase is accordingly referred to as "35P/MikoP", and incidentally, her birthday is on March 5, making it her Arc Number of sorts. Her Superchat donations are also typically in amounts that refer to this.
- 45 ("shi-ko"). Like Miko herself, the 35Ps will occasionally engage in perverted antics when playing games with her on stream. These fans are referred to as 45P or ShikoP.
- Gratuitous English: Miko is one of the most frequent users of this in all of JP, something further emphasized by her squeaky voice. One particularly noteworthy happened during a stream of Bus Simulator:Miko: (towards a rowdy passenger who's singing on the bus) [[Big "SHUT UP!" SHADDAP! Chill!
- Green-Eyed Monster: It's entirely played for laughs, but Miko becomes noticeably jealous
of Mikodanye — a mascot version of herself most known for her appearances at the Holoexpo events — when she starts reaching similar levels of popularity to her own. It's best seen when the two appear onstage together
on the Baby Dance Live 4th Anniversary stream; Miko ends up being pushed into the background as everyone fawns over Mikodanye, and she throws a tantrum while (unsuccessfully) trying to get everyone's attention.Miko: Miko is here! (jumping around behind everyone and waving her arms) Miko is here! Miko is here! Hey!
Polka: I can hear something!
(on cue, the stage lights go out, hiding all the girls but Mikodanye in the dark)
Miko: (distraught) WHYYYYYYY?! (Polka creases up laughing) EVERYONE! - His Name Really Is "Barkeep": A miko named "Miko".
- Idiot Hair: Her character model has a noticeable strand sticking out of her head. According to a 20 Questions session
with Luna and Marine, it's her favorite aspect about herself. When the chat asked her about the origin of her own ahoge, Miko put up a drammatic speech
about how it grew out of the part of the brain that's the dumbest, essentially admitting herself to being a massive knucklehead in the process.Q. What is Miko like?
—- Answered by fans:
[...]
A: A beautiful girl whose intelligence got sucked away by her cowlick.
-Official hololive website's Q&A about Sakura Miko - Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy: Miko's aim is infamous for how terrible it is — she practically has to get next to a target in order to hit it accurately, and even then she often messes up (such as the iconic clip of her trying to shoot the gate in Resident Evil Village). Her visit to a shooting range
in America with Subaru and Mio proved that this aspect of her is true to life, as her aim was so wildly off-target that the instructor actually took away her gun before she could finish, presumably out of fear that she'd accidentally misfire and hurt someone. - In-Series Nickname: Mikochi, a combination of her name and "-chi", a deliberate mispronunciation of the "-chan" honorific. Also doubles as an Affectionate Nickname, since many of her juniors would refer to her as this instead of "senpai".
- Insistent Terminology: A mutual example with MiComet: they aren't friends, they're business partners, and will call themselves such even when it's blatantly clear that they really do care about each other.
- Jaw Drop: Her first model has a triangle-shaped mouth expression
during moments of Stunned Silence, which fans made into an emoticon (・△・) and was also the basis of her Grand Theft Auto Online crew emblem. Downplayed in that it's not over-the-top, but it's still rather distinctive. Her "2.0" model still has the triangle mouth expression
(much to Miko and her fans' joy), but she has to do it deliberately. - Lady Swears-a-Lot: Drops FAQs like nobody's business, especially during her Grand Theft Auto V streams, though she significantly dialed back when transitioning to her third model. For example, there's her listening to Trevor's cutscenes
:Trevor: You motherfucking fuck! I grieved for you! You weren't even fucking dead! You were my best friend. Well, guess who's coming to shit on your doorstep, you fuck!
Miko: [Mostly repeating after Trevor] FAQ! [Beat] FAQing FAQ! MotherFAQing FAQ! - Maou the Demon King: The self-proclaimed Demon King of hololive JP's Minecraft server, with a big dark castle and a group of Four Heavenly Kings under her command, being Flare, Polka, Watame, and, ironically, Kanata. Haachama, upon visiting her castle
, remarks that despite the intimidating aesthetic, Miko's true Nice Girl nature is evident by how the Lava Pits of the castle have glass covering over them to prevent anyone from falling in, saying that a true Demon Lord would have left the lava open or, even more treacherously, would have left holes in the glass for people to fall through. - Meaningful Name: She's a Miko that has a pink palette like cherry blossoms.
- Miko: The clue is in the name. Admittedly, she has become considerably less miko-like as time goes on due to a combination of Art Evolution and her taking the brakes off of her childish antics. Her Shinto shrine-themed imagery seem to have been largely cast to one side as an Early-Installment Weirdness.
- Mission from God: Miko used to go about her duties as a shrine maiden until she went to Japan, per the gods' orders, and found out about Sora.
- Modesty Shorts: Her December 2020 3D model features a pair, to avoid the Panty Shots that were so abundant with her previous model.
- My Hovercraft Is Full of Eels: Her grasp of the English language very frequently boils down to this. The 35P humorously refer to her brand of English as "Elite English".
- One of her more infamous moments is the butchering
of Queen's "We Will Rock You". - In an English telephone game
, she would have single-handedly sabotaged her team's attempts at succeeding if not for Choco. - Her 15 minute stream with Coco about the Statue of Liberty
(which Miko translates as "Freedom Lady") goes off the rails during the 2nd part where Miko's goal is to ask Coco (who is a humanoid dragon) "to fly me to the top of the Statue of Liberty". After initially making progress and almost getting Coco to understand correctly, Miko blurts out "Butterfly, patapatta top!" This massively confuses Coco to the point where Coco starts to think Miko wants to jump OFF the top of the Statue to kill herself. This confusion lasts almost 5 minutes with Coco becoming increasingly disturbed and Miko not understanding in English the concept of "killing yourself", which results to a confused Miko screaming "WHAT THE FUCK!" at Coco. Eventually Coco figures out the "Fly vs Butterfly" confusion and explains it to Miko. - She once interpreted Moona's questions about breeding Miko's captured villagers in Minecraft as Moona asking Miko to bear her children.
- During her stream of Among Us with English speaking fans, she misspelled "sus" as "sws". She basically just runs with this, to the point where new players are using the spelling themselves. She also largely communicates in "No", "Elite" and "FAQ".
- On another telephone game
that included some hololive EN members, she still butchered pretty much every phrase passed to her.Amelia: (to Miko) I like to drink hot chocolate and ice skate in winter. What about you?
Miko: (to Gura) I rike wink hot choco-late I skay winner whabowyou?
Gura: Uhh... one more time, please...?
Miko: (now enunciating every word louder) I rike dorinku hot chocolay and... ice skay winter... with you.
- One of her more infamous moments is the butchering
- Netorare: According to her own profile sheet
, Miko's personal weakness is "NTR😭". Her fellow members were in shock from the revelation, saying that they weren't expecting something so obscene as cuckolding to be the weakness of someone as childish as her. - Playful Cat Smile: Her casual outfit gives her this expression as an option.
- Princess Classic: Miko's sololive outfit turns her into one of these, complete with a small tiara and a pair of glass slippers.
- Puni Plush: Her December 2020 model gives her a more rounded face compared to her older models, making her look a little younger. Pekora lampshades this
by asking Miko if she "became more loli". - Ragdoll Physics: Her casual 3D model seems to possess rather...weird
ragdolling
issues
. - Self-Insert Fic: On occasion, she'll turn her model around and turn herself into a self-insert for whatever's going on on-screen at the moment.
- Using the first person mode in Grand Theft Auto V, she puts herself in the driver's seat
and pretends that she's on a "driving date" with her chat. - In Umamusume: Pretty Derby, she turns to look at a character
that happens to be "looking" at Miko (read: coincidentally facing the corner of the screen Miko's in). - She once took advantage of her avatar's rotation to make it look like she's smooching Haachama
(among other things) while she was away from her desk. - This became more prominent during her Assetto Corsa streams, where she turns her avatar around to make it look like she's driving the car of her choice while its cockpit is in view.
- When she reviews HoloMyth's New Year's outfits, she sees that Amelia has twintails now and can't resist turning herself around and kissing the picture of Ame.

- Using the first person mode in Grand Theft Auto V, she puts herself in the driver's seat
- Shout-Out:
- Her signature "Nyahallo!" greeting is a reference
to Yui Yuigahama's "Yahello!", the anime adaptation of which has the same character artist as Miko's original model. - The background shown in her casual outfit reveal
is ripped straight from VR Dating Sim VR Kanojo
. The full stream has her talking about how she picked it out herself.
- Her signature "Nyahallo!" greeting is a reference
- Sideboob: Her first and second outfits both contain an opening where her arms are that show off her cleavage, revealing her to not be wearing a bra.
- Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Miko may be the queen of this particular trope in Hololive, as 9/10 times if she's good friends with someone it'll devolve into this.
- With Pekora. If they meet on the same game, chances are they'll be at each other's throats and/or trying to out-prank each other.
- She also started having this dynamic with Coco after she made her own parody of AsaCoco called AsaMiko, with both shows taking very thinly veiled jabs at each other's hosts. The first time Coco got banned after AsaMiko started airing, Miko seized the opportunity to rub salt in the wound
. - Then there's her dynamic with Suisei in the MiComet pairing, being the understated comedian duo of the original generation. Like Pekora, Suisei is fond of pulling fast pranks on Miko, with the latter responding in kind.
- She's a good friend with Korone with the pair frequently referred to as Mikorone. Naturally this means if they're in a game with any kind of competitive aspect to it, things will quickly devolve into mutual sabotage and petty insults. Taken to its pinnacle when they competed in Getting Over It.
- Mikodanye is one of her biggest ones, whom she opposes for both taking over her YouTube and Twitter accounts on odd weeks of the year and out of jealousy at her getting her own fanbase that rivals her own. In particular, Miko gets (humorously) annoyed at the fans who go out of their way to tease her by saying they prefer her mascot counterpart.
- Sorry, I'm Gay: When asked what type of men she is into, Miko replies that men are completely out of her field, though she can talk about what type of girls she is into.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Taiyaki. It's one of the few things that remained to this day of her original character concept when she debuted.
- Transplant: Originally an independent Vtuber under Cover Corp's Sakura Miko Project, she was later transferred to the Hololive brand around the debut time of GAMERS.
- Two First Names: Both of her names can be used as given names for girls in Japan.
- The Unintelligible: Became this after her official transfer to the main branch of Hololive as part of her character development, where Miko would often speak with a babyish lisp that became progressively more pronounced over the years, to the point that she's often joked to be the member with the weakest grasp of Japanese on that side of the company, after a while it grew to the point she is considered the worst at Japanese in the whole company. Contrast her typical speaking voice with how she once spoke
during her Miko no Tsutome days, before the Flanderization effect set in. - Vapor Wear: In all of her outfits besides her casual one, Sideboob shots reveal Miko to not be wearing a bra.
- Verbal Tic:
- She tends to pronounce the syllable "ne" as a nasal "nye". Noticable enough that others tend to copy it when imitating her. She is also aware of it, as she even writes this way (にぇ) and at one point
bemoaned how it makes it difficult for her to say Nene's name. - She also tends to end sentences with "de" (で) where many women would instead say "wa" (わ).
- She tends to pronounce the syllable "ne" as a nasal "nye". Noticable enough that others tend to copy it when imitating her. She is also aware of it, as she even writes this way (にぇ) and at one point
- Vitriolic Best Buds: With Pekora, to the point where their dynamic lasted long enough to get its own "I Am" Song, "PekoMiko Daisensou"
. As of 2022, she's also this for Suisei as part of their MiComet dynamic, where the two girls would be besties one moment, and then immediately try to throw each other under the bus the next. - Your Size May Vary: Miko has had multiple given heights in the past Depending on the Artist, ranging from 153
, to 156 and 157cm
. The official height chart
◊ and her bio give her a definite value of being 152cm tall.

To you, decked in colors shining oh so vividly
I dedicate this here melody
I can't fade away like this, not this way

It's time to make a move, 'cause the world will change!
Associated characters: Hoshimachi Meteor [JP: 星街メテオ] (Spear Counterpart), Anemachi, Comet-chan
A hard-working, multi-talented virtual idol who aspires to perform at the Tokyo Dome Note. Though she's usually cool and collected, Suisei tends to let the mask slip on her streams - sometimes to harrowing extremes. No one knows how much of the "Psychopath Suisei" persona is real or not, but Suisei finds it hilarious and leans into it every now and then.
- Abhorrent Admirer: She tends to get very flirtatious with Aqua, with the latter calling her a strange person. This hasn't gone unnoticed by Towa.
- The Ace:
- She is a very powerful singer and her peers are not shy about praising her ability. For outside testimonials, she amazed music industry veteran Taku Inoue when they were collaborating for his first major label debut, with him judging her very first recording submission of the song 3:12
to be more than good enough to use for the final product. - On the gaming side of things, Suisei is also a monster at Tetris, much to the amazement (and sometimes a bit of horror) of the people who dare challenge her. She's considered to be something of The Dreaded among Hololive talents in this regard, as nobody would be brave enough to dare playing against her, and the one time IRyS (actually Baelz posing as her) casually implied that she would like to challenge the singer to a Tetris match, the chat overwhelmingly begged her not to for her (IRyS's) own good. The only time she's ever lost at Tetris against a Vtuber was with Haato (with a set she was trying to use); Shigure Ui with *only* handicaps, since Ui wanted to handicap her and only lost once (17 wins, one loss at Puyo Puyo Tetris), and Marine at Puyo Puyo Tetris, since the pirate is no slouch at Puyo Puyo herself.
- She is a very powerful singer and her peers are not shy about praising her ability. For outside testimonials, she amazed music industry veteran Taku Inoue when they were collaborating for his first major label debut, with him judging her very first recording submission of the song 3:12
- A-Cup Angst: Subverted. She doesn't really care that much about her petite bust (having deliberately designed herself that way so people would focus on her voice rather than her design), and while she used to occasionally play this trope straight for comedic effect, she eventually
got tired of the flat jokes and asked people to stop making them
. - Adaptational Villainy:
- She wants this to happen as she wants to be the heel in Hololive Alternative on her Twitter
. But management declined her request to wield an axe, so she appears as a cute idol.
- She did however got to play as the villainous Furukawa Nanase in hololive ERROR.
- She wants this to happen as she wants to be the heel in Hololive Alternative on her Twitter
- Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Her parents found out about her Vtuber lifestyle when she saw her mother connecting her phone to their television, and started watching all of her videos. Her father was watching intently and comments the way she talked is pretty much "Yup, that's my daughter all right".
- Ambiguously Human: Despite having an appearance similar to a human, she proclaims herself that she isn't one. Upon being asked what species she is, she stated herself as an "idol". She also claims that she ages once every 250 years, a trait that isn't particular to humans, but alluding to long-period comet's revolution period.
- Angrish: Whenever she gets angry, she makes barely comprehensible words while pissed off. Games such as Mario Kart 8 and Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy showcases this well.
- Apologetic Attacker: She holds the distinct honor of apologizing to her victims in Project Winter and laugh at the same time.
- Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: As much as she enjoys doing random acts of murder, in the case of games like Thief Simulator, she enjoys shattering every toilet she finds.
- Art Evolution: Her avatar was designed by herself, which gave a much basic design and she also designed most of her clothes until Teshima Nari became her artist. From then on her model was remade in collaboration with her input.
- Ascended Fangirl:
- As a fan of the Love Live! anime series, she ordered the Love Live! Sunshine!! album Saint Snow but mistaken its released date. Then Asami Tano found out and retweeted her Twitter post about it and even attended her Karaoke, to her surprise. And now, she gets to host Music Space with Tano as her guest.
- She is also a fan of Cardfight!! Vanguard due to her sister getting her into it, with Shadow Paladin being her preferred deck in Zero. She eventually had a limited Japanese-exclusive event as a card, played the game on stream, and did a stream with Bushiroad's president.
- She's a huge fan of RAISE A SUILEN from BanG Dream!. For her 5th Anniversary/Birthday Live, she got to perform a duet of Michizure with RAS's bassist/vocalist LAYER, followed by performing HELL! or HELL? with the full band.
- Ascended Meme: Her official Nendroid figure
gives her an axe as an accessory along with a swappable face with a smug grin based on her infamous Ax-Crazy Comedic Sociopathy. Her fifth 2D costume equips her with a bardiche or poleaxe as an accessory by default, again based on her Ax-Crazy Comedic Sociopathy. - Attractive Bent-Gender: During her off-collab with Aqua, Kanata, and Coco; she has a male persona called "Meteor-kun".
- Awesome by Analysis: She has a very quick thinking skills when she plays games, which contributed to her skills in Tetris. She has really good detective skills, which she uses playing Among Us.
- Ax-Crazy: Miko may had pioneered Ax Crazy Comedic Sociopathy in hololive, but Suisei defined the terms to the point that she's a walking definition of both tropes. As such:
- Part of her humor in her streams is her Comedic Sociopathy, where she's quick to resort to violence or even murder when possible. Even when she's not acting as the villain, she's a Heroic Comedic Sociopath at best. Project Winter has shown that she takes both roles effectively, as she will legitimately scare a Traitor as a Survivor while she will kill everyone given the chance as a Traitor (though she's still calculating enough to avoid bum-rushing her targets).
- If she wants to kill everyone in a game she's playing (if they are not combatless game), she will start killing people in her line of sight, even in games where it's a Non-Standard Game Over for such actions, but wonton murder definitely brings this side out of her. And it's hilarious.
- Speaking of Grand Theft Auto V, this reaches its zenith when she was playing this of all games where she predictably goes around and running people over her car to the point she once attempted this being the goal to kill 1,000,000 people in the game and barely reached that number, but she was really into killing every pedestrian in her line of sight. And this is after she tried to shed her reputation as a psychopath for 2021 New Years.
- Berserk Button:
- Do not assume a favorite character of hers in a gacha game is "just a card". Subaru found out the hard way that Suisei gets angrily defensive when they bring up Kalim Al Asim from Twisted-Wonderland and assumed he is just a card. Fubuki was also angry, but not at Suisei's level
.Suisei: WHAT DID YOU SAY!?! HUH!?! - She also hates it when people call her a shotacon, saying she likes shounen. Of course no one buys it when she tried to make her point. Unlike most buttons, she absolutely despises this to the point of telling her fans to stop doing it.
- She dislikes BL of her favorite Enstars character Ritsu, since her friends had sent her doujins of him as the uke.
- Beware the Nice Ones: As Project Winter has proven, Suisei is very effective in hiding her true nature as Cute and Psycho. Even in collaboration games, those who experienced it first-hand are very wary of her when they play as Survivors and she is one of them. Matsuri is Properly Paranoid due to the Humiliation Conga she experienced from her.
- BFG: A few of the MVs for Midnight Grand Orchestra's songs show her wielding a shotgun-like weapon named Allegro that's about as thick as her arm and is capable of effectively deleting targets with mini-black holes.
- Big Good: In her collaboration stream with Mea Kagura, Choco, Inaba Haneru, Amano Pikamee, Tomari Mari, Hinokuma Ran, and Yunohara Izumi, she plays as a Survivor three times in a row, and since she's the most experienced at the game, she easily offs the Traitors while guiding the less experienced players to the goals. It doesn't stop her from being a Creepy Good after offing a Traitor, she steals their hearts to eat. Even Choco, who is a fellow Survivor, was taken aback by her offering a heart to stave off hunger. Even when she left the helicopter to rescue Mea Kagura, the worst she did was Mercy Kill everyone when the rescue chopper leaves them behind, which is far more beneficial than what she did to Matsuri.
- Birds of a Feather: Suisei and Calli greatly admire each other for their respective singing prowess, with Calli mentioning on Trash Taste that Suisei is one of her two favourite senpai (the other being AZKi), and Suisei affectionately replying to Calli's chat encouragements with "I love you!". Their original songs also sometimes touch upon the same subject, with "GHOST" and "Red" both expressing the feeling of making a lasting impression in the VTuber scene.
- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: As a traitor in one of her Project Winter streams, she can pull off a nice girl façade before showing her true villainous colors by manipulating survivors like Miko into getting killed.
- Blatant Lies: While Suisei doesn't have the greatest grasp of English, she does understand enough to answer basic questions. She once responded to accusations from Gura in Among Us with claiming she didn't speak English after she ran out of other excuses despite understanding the entire conversation. And this was after she had already participated in English conversations earlier in the collab. It threw off everyone else enough that it actually worked, much to Suisei's amusement.
- Born Unlucky: She does not have the greatest luck when it comes to RNG, which becomes a Running Gag among fans that RNG is specifically against her in luck-based and gacha games.
- Brains and Brawn: She's often depicted as the Brawn to Taku Inoue's Brains in Midnight Grand Orchestra's MVs, fighting on the front lines while Taku serves as her Mission Control. It's fitting, considering their dynamic as a singer-producer duo.
- Bring It: When she discovered that IRySnote issued a challenge that she could beat her at Tetris, she wastes no time in accepting her challenge.
- Brutish Character, Brutish Weapon: When she plays Project Winter, her favorite weapon to craft is a golden axe to fit her in-game "crazy axe-murderer" persona. If she's not using a poison rifle, chances are that she will use the axe in melee range. She also has a golden axe as her emoji for her channel membership, and her maid outfit upgrades the axe to a full-on halberd.
- Butt-Monkey: Not on the same level like, say, Miko, but Suisei will often be in the butt of jokes when she gets a bit sociopathic, or when she gets in a collaboration with horror games to the point where her fellow idols wastes no time in teasing her if she gets too scared.
- Canon Discontinuity: Pieces
was initially designated as Suisei's fourth original song, and was affiliated with BiliBili. However, as a result of the Taiwan incident and Cover Corp being considered Persona Non Grata, GHOST
was chosen as her fourth original song instead. - Car Fu: If she ever plays a game with driving involved, vehicular manslaughter ensues. In other cases, she's not allowed to kill people if the game enforces Thou Shalt Not Kill.
- Cassandra Truth: If she says it's Not Me This Time in collaboration games, she's telling the truth. More often than not, her friends will immediately suspect her of killing someone when she didn't do it. What doesn't help her case is her tendency to work by herself, and she is often suspected of being the Traitor (Project Winter) or Impostor (Among Us) until proven innocent. What doesn't help is that she is good at lying to avoid suspicion while others would fall for it when she does play those roles, something Matsuri knows by experience.
- Catchphrase: Sui-chan wa... kyou mo kawaii! translation
- Cherry Tapping: While playing Tales of Arise, she confesses that she had no idea how to change any equipment while she played her first Tales Series game, Tales of Destiny 2. Somehow, she made it all the way to the Final Boss. Which meant that she managed to beat many bosses, including
Barbatos! - Comedic Sociopathy: Good lord. There's a reason why fans call her "Suiciopath":
- Multiplayer games such as Project Winter and single player games such as VR horror or Hitman (2016) has shown time and again that she can be a bit out there when she wants to. And it's not limited to games either. When she had a sleepover ASMR with Coco and Kanata in the latter's apartment, she makes questionable remarks that Coco calls her out on, and Kanata outright calls her a psychopath. She was actively bloodthirsty during the 2020 Minecraft Sports Festival where she wants her team to kill the opposing team. And then there's the whole "Kill a million people in GTAV". There's a reason why fans in the west calls her "Suiciopath".
- After the release of Hololive Alternative short music video, she states she wants to be a Heel on her Twitter
if there's an opportunity for her to be in one. Naturally, fans finds this funny. - This nearly becomes a Flanderization of her character where she'll give either give a Death Glare or an Implied Death Threat in the Holo no Graffiti episodes.
- If her killing her friends in Rust isn't enough, she decides to feed her horse boar ribs on her way home.
- Competition Freak:
- She has a habit of getting mad at herself for not trying hard at some of the games she plays. Her Muse Dash streams often feature her spending dozens of minutes attempting to hit every note in particularly hard songs.
- On her Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics stream, she spends a lot of time
trying to beat the hardest CPU opponent in 6 Ball Puzzle (and subsequently losing her temper a lot). - Luna's 3D debut stream has her playing a Space Invaders knockoff called Holovaders, where she expresses confusion at the seemingly impossible high score of 1770. Suisei later admitted
that it was her high score, which she attained when Luna offered to let her try the game before her 3D stream started. She couldn't help but try hard at the game when a staff member told her that the game is surprisingly difficult. - Her interview with Kiara gives in insight of this: She started playing Tetris when her family owned a copy, and she played nonstop. She then found out there was an online competitive version and she started playing with her friends online until she encountered a really good player who thoroughly thrashed her. She then developed her competitive freakishness and discovered she really hates losing, and started practicing until she meets that player again, thus her expertise in Tetris and her competitiveness.
- On her radio series co-starring VA Tadokoro Azusa, Suisei expresses a bit of frustration
that her radio show isn't the first Vtuber/VA radio show in Japan. That honor instead goes to Yukoku Roberu of holostars and VA Yūki Ono, having debut mere days prior Suisei and Azusa's show.
- Cosmic Motifs: Stars and Comets. All of her costumes have some form of star motif, either in the form of individual stars or in the form of a starry-sky print. Her eyes even have star-shaped glints. And then, of course there's her name ("Hoshimachi" roughly translates to "starry town/street", while "Suisei" is both the Japanese word for "comet" and an Alternate Character Reading of the Japanese name for the planet Mercury, which has a comet-like "tail").
- Costume Evolution: Along with Art Evolution, her first outfits were
◊ made by herself, and she would switch between costumes either during talk streams or music videos. Come 2019, after her Art Evolution, her permanent main outfit is a gray plaid outfit along with a hat with a crown
◊. Her skirt shows her star motif along with two chains. She also has a blue kimono in when she wears occasionally and New Years, and her 2020 outfit is a sleeveless shirt, a new hat, a sidetail, a large jacket, orange socks, and a longer skirt and a pair of glasses. She occasionally removes the glasses and jacket in some streams. - Cowardly Lion: Despite being scared of horror games (and monsters in Minecraft), she will brave through her share of unknown horrors through the end of the game. Moreso if she is allowed to fight back as shown in her playthrough of Biohazard 7.
- Creator Backlash: Played for Laughs in-universe. When she chose to visit a fansite dedicated to her, she noticed her introductory stream was in it, and gave it a watch. She was less than happy when she remembers how hard she was trying to sound cute.
- Creator Breakdown: Also discussed in-universe. Her own songs are actually based around this. This is heavily prominent with Tenkyuu and GHOST, especially the latter and explained to Kiara the context behind it. She not only wants to be remembered for her own accomplishments, but that other Vtubers shouldn't be forgotten as well as a Take That! towards people who dislike Vtubers after their increasing rise in popularity.
- Creepy Good: Even when she doesn't play Traitor on Project Winter, she has a tendency to creep out actual Traitors when she plays a Survivor
. - Crossover: She is good friends with Inui Toko from Nijisanji. Like Suisei, she is also regarded as one of the most talented singers of her respective company and the two regularly record duets for each other's channels.
- Cute and Psycho: Gained a reputation with her fans as a psychopath, stemming from her ruthlessness in Project Winter whenever she's one of the traitors and expanding into any game or situation where there's an option to be horrifically violent. Sometimes she continues to play this trope straight, other times she comically denies allegations of her psychopathy, but in general she's pretty amused
at her fans' perception of her. It's even Ascended Fanon in the Hololive animated shorts, where she kills Miko, Rushia, and Ayame by using them as Tetris blocks cheerfully in her debut episode. - Daddy's Girl: Suisei apparently talks like her own father. When she talks about how her parents found out her Vtuber and idol career, she mentions how he was watching intently and noted her diction was similar to his.
- Damn You, Muscle Memory!: After playing Grand Theft Auto V since the start of 2021, she developed a habit of running people over she sees on sidewalks. When she returns playing Thief Simulator, she does the same thing, forgetting that killing is a Non-Standard Game Over.
- Dark Horse Victory: Her winning the 2021 New Year's Hololive Mario Kart tournament came out of nowhere, and none of the other members or fans expected it.
- Dead Person Impersonation: She enjoys pulling this tactic during Project Winter by either impersonating a survivor (such as Miko or Fubuki) or a fellow Traitor (Aki Rosenthal, who was poisoned and killed by wolves).
- Delinquents: Suisei sometimes enjoys talking or acting like a yankī
when she's trying to be both comedic and intimidating at the same time. - Determinator:
- She was actually rejected
from a hololive audition at least once, but that never stopped her from pursuing her independent Virtual YouTuber career. Fast forward a year and her 3D debut
within hololive has the production values of an actual idol concert and it's associated twitter hashtag was a #1 trend globally. Fubuki, who had the most subscribers at the time, firmly believed Suisei should be the one with the most subs after seeing her 3D concert. - When it comes to gacha games, she won't stop rolling. Whenever she plays a gacha game on and off-stream, she is determined to get the gacha she wants, which includes paid and unpaid gacha.
- She spent 6 hours determined to beat VIP mode in Tetris 99, and finally manages to beat it despite having to eat during those 6 hours, and facing the exact same stream snipers over and over again, despite the chat's concern for her health. Her determination was so great that her chat went from being concerned for her health and sleep schedule to cheering her on until she managed to get first place.
- When she joined with Aqua and Towa for the gamer maid's first and last tournament, she sacrificed all of her free time and a lot of her sleep to improve by leaps and bounds because she wants to properly support Aqua in the latter's only tournament showing.
- Work-related, she spends most of her time practicing singing and dancing that she only streams when she has the time. It's through her own hard work that she is constantly improving her singing voice, though there are times where she sounds visibly tired during talk streams. But it pays off on how much she wants to work on the songs she wants to cover and her personal efforts behind them.
- In her very first stream in March 2018, she said that her ultimate goal was to perform at the Nippon Budokan. She later said that she intentionally made her goal something she thought was impossible, so that she'd always have something to aim towards. Nearly seven years later, she actually made it happen with her SuperNova concert.
- She was actually rejected
- Dissonant Serenity: She is rather casual with all the death and destruction she causes in multiplayer games or games that even allows her to do it. Such as killing her friends in Project Winter or being chased by a bear.
- Does Not Like Spam: Suisei hates vegetables of all stripes, often pouting and sulking whenever someone tries to get her to eat one. This created a rather funny conflict when Iroha (a Fangirl of Suisei who very much enjoys vegetables) joined hololive, and Suisei said she'd stand her ground even if it made Iroha cry
. - Double Take: When she's knocked out of musical chairs
, she looks at the camera twice in disbelief due to the fact that she lost to Miko. - The Dreaded:
- Needless to say, her fellow idols became personally afraid of her, particularly Matsuri, who has every reason to be very wary and Properly Paranoid of her in collaboration games, even if they're on the same side. It doesn't help that Suisei enjoys butchering her friends in collaboration games like Project Winter and Among Us with a sadistic glee and laughing at their suffering, because it amuses her doing so. Not even guest collaborators are safe, even as a Heroic Comedic Sociopath. There's a reason she has her well-deserved reputation as an ax-crazy Suicopath.
- Funnily enough, her victory in the 2021 Mario Kart 8 DX tournament collaboration is exactly why every other girl are trying to avoid Group B, the group both her and Aqua are in for the 2022 DX race. Suisei herself finds it funny that the other girls are going out of their way to not get set up in that group
. - Playing Rust reinforces this. Koyori got killed by Suisei in their first encounter to the point the latter took her MP5, and found Sakura who was on her way to her house. And then both her and Sakura got ambushed by her. And then after getting revived, Suisei decides to return her MP5, only to shoot her anywaynote . In her stream of the game, when she went to the snow area for loot, and Miko also happens to be in the area, Miko decides to scare her with warning shots. Once she finds out Miko was in the area, she camps inside a warehouse where her horse is in, and riddles her with bullets. And then Pekora decides to destroy her house, she was also fighting Miko at the time and stealing her items, and once Pekora gets shot, the latter pleads for her life in order for Suisei to not kill her. And then Matsuri, who has been relentlessly bullying her friends in Rust, wisely chose not to pick a fight with her.
- Driven by Envy: Played for Laughs upon her first visit
to hololive English's Minecraft server. On one side of the server's entrance tunnel, she notices a bunch of signs left by Japanese members gushing about their "dates" with the English members (conveniently glossing over the fact Sora, Kanata and Pekora came and left by themselves), prompting a quick "normies explode" from her and writing a sign reading "Loners are the best!" on the other side of the entrance tunnel in protest. - Drives Like Crazy: Predictably, she has played Grand Theft Auto V and becomes interested in the game, her driving skills are left to be desired (ironically, her starting character Franklin Clinton has the highest driving stat). She spends the majority of the stream deliberately running people over with her car. After watching her stream, her mother apparently sent her a message on LINE saying "Let me drive."
- Early-Installment Weirdness:
- While her Comedic Sociopathy is consistent, during her early years, she had a high-pitched voice, her model (created by herself) often looked stiff, and appeared emotionless, even when she reacted to something. Her model since December 2019 has more fluid animation and emotional range, and her voice isn't as high-pitch. She returns with the model in January 30, 2021 after being demonetized on the day before as a re-debut. And then she visited a fan website dedicated to her where she decided to watch her old videos that were posted there, and the way her tone speaks when she hears her own voice in 2018 is cringe to her.
- This was discussed in the HoloTalk Q&A session with Kiara Takanashi. She explained when VTubing was becoming a thing, she made her own model way before she joined hololive proper while independent. After Nari became her official artist, she felt her old model was missing something, and wished she could have done better with it.
- Enfante Terrible: Told Akai Haato a story one time when she accidentally killed a frog by crushing it to death. Haato's reaction was calling Suisei a psychopath
. - Epic Fail: In the EN/JP/ID Among Us collaboration, she made uncharacteristic blunders despite her performance in the previous collaboration where she only died once. This is due to language barrier, and when she tries to explain what she was doing, no one believes her, and she gets ejected. When she finally gets the chance to play an Impostor, she almost made the same mistakes as Miko. Her saving grace however is saying "I don't speak English" and Calliope didn't voted against her despite Gura being proven correct. Fans however speculate that she sounded very tired since anyone following her on Twitter knows that she went to work on that day, and work fatigue is the reason for the blunders. There's also the fact that in that particular instance Suisei did understand most of what was being said in that meeting, and used her not speaking english line as a last ditch effort to throw everyone off too much to vote her off.
- Establishing Character Moment:
- Her performance as a Traitor during Project Winter games has established her reputation as an Ax-Crazy psychopath among her fans and work partners alike.
- Invokes this when Generation 5 was planning to play Minecraft together, and so Haachama and Subaru hatched a plan to blow up a large image of YAGOO while also blowing themselves up. The plan backfires as the TNT destroys the man-made platform, and just burn themselves to death. To G5's complete utter confusion.
- Everyone Has Standards: Despite her sociopathy, she gets shocked in her GTAV run when she accidently runs over a dog. The same stream reveals that she has issues against abandoning animals, and that animals/pets are like family.
- Evil Is Petty:
- While she's one of the nicest girls, she is extremely petty when her Competition Freak tendencies leak out with her Comedic Sociopathy, such as butchering her friends in Project Winter or when she insults her would-be opponents in online games. Thief Simulator showcases that she enjoys shattering toilets on her way out.
- When she was compromised by Gura in the Hololive JPN/ENG/INDO collaboration, she was singled out by her when she walked by Risu's body whom she killed not even seconds ago and Gura took notice. After playing dumb against Gura, she decides to target her, and killed off Gura when the gate opens right in front of Nene.Doors shut as Gura's following Calliope, separating her and leaving her alone with Suisei and Watson, both Impostors, and Gura starts panicking
Suisei: Gura...you've been suspecting me a lot, haven't you?
- Evil Laugh: Can sport a truly hearty one when she's enjoying herself too much or when she finally defeats a hardest A.I. at Speed
. - Exorcist Head: She discovered how to rotate her head in MineCraft in unexpected ways. Mainly to creep her friends out when she isn't streaming and playing the game on her free time.
- Exotic Eye Designs: Her iris highlights are stars.
- Fairytale Motifs: Cinderella references pop up every so often in her music, usually to be subverted. In Stellar Stellar Suisei sings that she wants to be a Prince Charming "who goes and gets things done" rather than Cinderella "who waits forever". In Bibideba, references to glass slippers and carriages are made, while in the music video, Suisei's Animated Actor character tries to dance as a demure Cinderella character on a movie set, but quickly gets into a brawl with an abusive Prima Donna Director to defend her manager. The music video ends with her doing the dance sequence flawlessly in stylish modern clothes (portrayed by a live actor), implying that Suisei will always be her best self when she's taking the reins.
- Fangirl:
- Of idol mobile games such as Ensemble Stars! and The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls Starlight Stage. She also happens to be an Arte Refact fan. She is also a fan of the Love Live! anime, and when she was planning to buy the Saint Snow album, she caught the attention of Asami Tano on Twitter, and Tano herself watched her karaoke stream that same day. Suisei was freaking out when she discovered this.
- She's a big admirer of Calli's music and outright named the reaper her oshi.
- The Fashionista: According to the super stylish rich girl Lamy, Suisei has an amazing fashion sense and the confidence to pull off some bold outfit choices.
- Fatal Flaw:
- She is extremely prideful. She once pulled a 6-hour stream playing Tetris 99 in VIP mode trying to get first place, and she had to eat occasionally (it ended in 3AM JST). It actually took Amemiya, one of the most well-known Tetris player in Japan himself, to go in and help her out (who even asked fans to either snipe or support her. Fans chose snipe, but he chose to support her instead). While she was graceful that she won, she didn't accepted the win knowing someone helped her. And thus played one more game off-stream and had a legitimate win.
- Playing Getting Over It made her quick to rush through the game without focusing, which (usually) throws her back in the beginning of the game. Half of the time, when she does get fair enough, she's so focused on beating the game instead of concentrating what she needs to do that she makes irrational mistakes.
- Faux Affably Evil:
- As a Traitor in Project Winter, her nice girl act is only a front to drop the Survivors' guard and kill them. This is proven when she kills Miko after seemingly leading Miko to safe place with questions regarding her concern ("Are you hurt?", "Are you dying?"), only to announce that she wants to savor the shrine maiden's heart.
- In one of her Rust streams, she revived Koyori after getting shot and handed the coyote an MP5. Alas, it was also a ploy so the comet can shoot her again when she least expects it.
- Despite her wish to stop being a psychopath for 2021, she continued being a psychopath anyway by killing pedestrians with her car in her Grand Theft Auto V stream of said year, as part of her "One Million Annihilation Plan". The reason for this is because she sees the pedestrians as coins to collect while practicing for the Mario Kart 8 DX new year's tournament. She doesn't live up to her psychopath reputation for nothing.
- Friendship Moment: In her collaboration stream with guest Vtubers, near the end of their first round of Project Winter, Suisei could have left Mea Kagura behind while making her escape. But she chose to rescue her while the timer to escape was running out. Even though she Mercy Kills everyone else, it was the thought that counts, and it earned the Survivor's win since Choco was able to escape.
- From Nobody to Nightmare: In her earliest Project Winter streams, she was relatively new to the game, and thus die in situations that were against her regardless of which side she was playing as. Come her collaboration with Shion, Miko, Roboco, Mio, Ayame, and Fubuki, she becomes a cunning strategist and misdirects her friends and ambush them as soon as they drop their guards, boosts her stats, and kills without mercy. Her collaboration with Matsuri, AkiRose, Fubuki, Coco, Kanata, Watame, and Roboco reaches that zenith where she kills four survivors in quick succession while Roboco was trying to kill Watame, and injures Matsuri before wearing Fubuki's character's clothes, imitates her, then finishes Matsuri off with her signature golden axe. And thus her Comedic Sociopathy status was born.
- Fun with Acronyms: Uses an acronym "A.Y.T" for Aidoru YouTuber for her custom-made phone cases. When asked why she didn't abbreviate it as "A.V.T" (Aidoru Virtual Tuber), she already knew it would bring Unfortunate Names with the letters "A.V"note . The real meaning of the acronym, however, is "Anta no Kane de Yakiniku Tabe ni iku", which means "I'm gonna eat yakiniku using your money".
- Future Me Scares Me: Inverted. When Miko told her the time they played Project Winter back in 2018, Miko remarks how psychotic she was back then. Suisei ends up finding her past self to be terrifying.
- The Gambling Addict: She trends to roll a lot with gacha games she plays. Her luck isn't exactly great, but when she rolls, she goes all out. A Running Gag among fans is how awful her gacha luck is.
- Gamer Chick:
- She's very good at playing Tetris. She once managed to go head to head with the second best Teris 99 player in the world on stream, and only lost to them because she couldn't keep up with how fast the blocks were falling.
- Outside of Tetris, she's very good in many games across many genres. It goes hand-in-hand with her competitive spirit and if she's not good at a game, she will be in short order. To put into perspective, she's one of Hololive's best Mario Kart racers and can keep up with Aqua and Towa in Apex Legends despite not being a regular player.
- Genki Girl:
- She has her moments when she gets very excitable depending on the topic at hand. Whether it's a concert she's preparing for, talk streams, or in group talks. Even if she sounds exhausted, her energy is still there thanks to her personal own efforts as an idol.
- When Ensemble Stars is brought up, expect her to talk for a very long time on the topic. Especially since Sakuma Ritsu is her favorite Enstars character.
- It shows especially in her collaboration with Subaru. The duck is easily the most energetic person in Hololive, but Suisei can match her without problem, unless it's morning.
- Genre Shift: Her music shifts drastically. From J-Pop, to alternative rock, and rap, the latter thanks to her collaboration songs with Calli. Sometimes switching around depending on the tone of the songs.
- Girl with Psycho Weapon: Axes and similar weapons, as a result of her antics in Project Winter. In the "Summer, Summer Go Away
" hologra, she is depicted wielding an enormous golden halberd as large as herself and swings it around like it was as light as a feather. - Good Is Not Soft: Just because she plays a Survivor in Project Winter doesn't mean she won't kill a Traitor with the same sadistic glee she would as a Traitor. Heroic Comedic Sociopath exists for a reason.
- Graceful Loser:
- Zig-zagged. When she plays games with friends, she takes her losses in stride, although losing against anonymous opponents online irritates her. However, she does acknowledge a worthy opponent if they catch her attention. Yacht is one of the few games where she was pressing her luck when she was playing with Roboco, who beat her twice. Roboco's stream ends with a tie however (their first game was 6 Ball Puzzle).
- In one particular animated short, she gets into an argument with Marine on who has better endurance, she simpily reads a book (or shadow reading), and rejecting a talent recruit while Marine was working out, and livestreaming with her generation which earns Marine's win. She gracefully takes the loss and makes peace with Marine.
- Gratuitous English:
- Her original songs "Next Color Planet" and "Now On Space" featured some English phrases.
- Her attempts to speak to her English fans is this: After one too many frustrating ordeal playing Getting Over It, she decides to communicate with her English-speaking fans in her stream by pretending it's an English stream. Thus, coining the term "Suinglish" by her fans.
- This actually comes to bite her when she did an Among Us collaboration with her, Luna, AkiRose, Roboco, Nene, Calliope, Gura, Amelia, Iofi, and Risu. As much as she's able to make really good arguments, she cannot do so when five out of ten collaborators knows English (Calliope, Gura, Amelia, Risu, and Iofi), so when she tries to make her defense, she was immediately booted off after finding too many bodies than warranted (which would make her a suspect if she found so many bodies in one round).
- Generally speaking, her pronunciation is decent, and she knows how to sound the words (e.g., she pronounces "Oh my God" properly while most of her colleagues tend to pronounce it as "Oh my gah!"), though she is not exactly sure what the word means.
- Has a Type: Suisei has a preference for short people: Miko, Kanata and Aqua (the three members she has the strongest attachment to) are all considerably shorter than her, and she's a noted fan of the "youthful, wide-eyed shonen protagonist" archetype. She's also into goth/punk-styled women, as seen through her admiration of Calliope Mori.
- Heroic Comedic Sociopath: On the times she's a Survivor in Project Winter, her sociopathy can be beneficial to others. If she was suddenly attacked by an unskilled Traitor, she wastes no time killing them as much as she would as a Traitor. In fact, she is also benevolent to a less skillful survivor despite her I Work Alone tendencies. Keep in mind the sociopath part of Heroic Comedic Sociopath still means she'll creep people out, such as eating hearts or offering someone a Traitor's heart.
- Hidden Depths:
- In her 100,000 subscriber milestone, she has mentioned her struggles to be an idol, and had a rough three years before she was able to join hololive, due to factors such as executive meddling from Inonaka Music, who underpromoted her and visibly cries when she brings it up. But after she was finally accepted in hololive after being rejected once, she truly earned her happy ending as she was able to become the idol she wanted to be.
- Her songs have an overlying message of her struggles in becoming an idol, best shown in her first three original songs. Then there's "GHOST", where she feels her successes are fleeting, and thus wants to be more than just a memory; the plight isn't just about her, but other VTubers who had the same struggles as she did when she was independent, and it also serves as a Take That! towards people who dislike VTubers.
- Horrifying the Horror: Suisei is one of the few people that Pekora absolutely refuses to trifle with or troll in a game, since she rarely lets go of grudges and frequently resolves her problems with violence. On the rare occasion she does get on her bad side, expect it to end with Pekora frantically pleading for her life.
- Huge Schoolgirl: When she was in elementary school, she used to be the tallest kid in her class. She eventually stopped growing at that point.
- Hypocritical Humor: Suisei once told a story about how shocked she was at the prices of designer bags when taking her mother gift shopping for her anniversary, and says she doesn't usually splurge on luxury items like that in order to keep her finances in check... But when her chat brought up her own gacha addiction, she immediately tried to change the subject while saying that gacha is a different thing.
- I Call It "Vera": She and Anemachi own a roomba that they named "Sakamata Chlo", after her orca junior. So shortened because there wasn't enough room for the last character.
- Idol Singer: Her main forte is her singing talent. She even managed to land her own music show called Music Space, which she delivers every 17:00 JST on Sundays until its discontinuation in April 2021, where it was replaced with Azusa Tadokoro's Heikousen Scramble.
- I'm a Humanitarian: As a rule of funny, she enjoys eating hearts from other players in Project Winter, which is a real game mechanic.
- Inconsistent Spelling: When writing her own name in the Latin alphabet, Suisei tends to write according to Nihon-shiki romanization
or Kunrei-shiki romanization
, according to both of which her family name is written as "Hosimati", rather than the more common Hepburn romanization
, according to which her family name is written as "Hoshimachi". Likewise, when playing Among Us, her user name is usually "suityan", rather than "Sui-chan". - Insane Troll Logic: Ever since she started Grand Theft Auto V, she started to run people over with every available vehicle she sees, and to her, the pedestrians are the coins from Mario Kart. Even Coco is baffled by her logic in their Meme Review collaboration.
- In-Series Nickname: Sui-chan, portmanteau of the first syllable of her name and "-chan". She is called this by both fans and other hololive members alike.
- Insistent Terminology: She likes shounen, not shota. Her Hitman (2016) playthrough has her angrily declare that her targets are people who don't understand the difference. Not helping her case is that she used pre-Time Skip Alan Stuart as "proof" against the argument, who's a Bratty Half-Pint with a female VA and, more importantly, is somewhere around the ballpark of nine years old ("shounen" usually refers to boys who've at least hit puberty). Her chat, naturally, immediately called her out on it.
- I Reject Your Reality:
- She does not take failure well in Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy, usually pretending she hasn't played the game before after a big enough failure. This is extremely obviously in her second stream playing the game when she pretends it's the first time she's ever played the game and then does this two more times in the same stream after making mistakes that make her tumbling back.
- This tendency also extends when she's playing other competitive games such as Fall Guys and Mario Kart, where she constantly proclaims victory despite her actually losing the games.
- Irony:
- She has poor English skills when she tries to communicate with her English-speaking fans. Her mother, however, is an English teacher.
- Despite having a tendency to legitimately scare her friends when she plays multiplayer games as either as a Traitor or Survivor, she cannot handle horror very well, especially horror games unless she is able to fight back.
- Of all of her talented music skills, she cannot whistle. Whenever she attempts to whistle, fans would remark that she sounds like a tea kettle when she tries to.
- When she was a little girl, she saw a frog she thought was cute, and accidentally kills it while carrying it to show her sister. Come 2022, and she is now terrified of frogs.
- I Work Alone:
- In some Project Winter games, if she's a Survivor, she often goes off on her own to help with game objectives her way, unless there's an obstacle in her way (such as ambush predators) where she'll need backup. In her latest collaboration, Mea Kagura acts as her bodyguard because she knew she couldn't complete objectives on her own, and her paranoia actually helps out Pikamee, whom they both kill in no time. She also decided to help the other girls with the game due to their inexperience and so she had to drop this in order to help them win.
- She used to have this attitude when she was an indie, she was very proud of her single work and when she was asked if she was affiliated with Tokino Sora, she'd be quick to snap that she wasn't. However, she's changed her view upon joining hololive, building a good friendship with the other idols (including Sora herself) and doesn't mind collaborating with her fellow idols at all.
- Playing Among Us puts her into this territory when she plays with her friends. Because of how she knows how the game works, Suisei will often keeps a distance from others to finish her tasks. The one time she didn't do this was when she finds Aqua, which proves to be her undoing since Aqua kills her immediately. She then goes back into finishing tasks on her own after that game.
- Kick the Dog: Played for Laughs stream-wise: When Matsuri was the last victim to fall in Project Winter, Suisei goes up to Fubuki's character's corpse, wears her clothes, then imitates her while Matsuri pleads with her life all the while using a poison rifle, and finally kills her with her signature axe.
- Laser-Guided Karma:
- Her aforementioned rampage in Project Winter was so bad, everyone else ganged up on her after she was wounded by a wolf in the next game. Unlike the previous game, she wasn't even a Traitor, but the girls didn't want to take any risks.
- In one of the anime shorts, Marine was completely focused on building a ship in a bottle when Suisei and Coco finds her. Suisei and Coco ended up making too much noise that Marine tells them the next time they do it, she will get angry. Unfortunately for her, just when Coco was about to sneeze, Pekora is the one who does, and Fubuki finds Suisei, Coco, and Pekora trapped in a giant glass bottle with Marine sitting on top of it.
- When she was playing with Roboco in 6-Ball, she blazes through their first match as if she was playing Tetris, which Roboco calls her out on as she gets two matched hexagons. Until they start Yacht Dice, Suisei's luck runs out twice when Roboco manages win their first two games when her luck was on her side. Suisei barely manages to their third game however.
- Leg Focus: Several of her outfits show off her long nicely toned legs.
- Leitmotif: Her pre-stream loading screens almost always come with an instrumental version of her latest original song. For example, "NEXT COLOR PLANET" was featured on most of her loading screens during 2020, and was only replaced by "GHOST" when the latter got released on 2021. 2022, however, would replace "GHOST" with "Stellar Stellar" after its release. Come 2023, her loading screen song is changed to a vocal version of "Soirée".
- Like Father, Like Son:
- She apparently talks like her own father. She mentions when her family were watching videos from her mother's phone to the family TV, they started laughing, but he was watching intently. He then sums it up with "Yup, that's my daughter".
- Apparently her love for Tetris came from her own mother, who owned a GameBoy with Tetris in it. And she may seem to be as sociopathic as her daughter when she sent Suisei a LINE message saying, "Let me drive". Apparently, Comedic Sociopathy is In the Blood.
- Violence runs in the family from her mother. When she went to her grandmother's during her break in late January 2022, she tells Toko how after her mother had Tears of Joy after not seeing her for two years, a friend went to visit Suisei, and her mother talks about how she had a violent encounter with her mother-in-law (i.e Suisei's grandmother she was staying at). This immediately stunned both Suisei and her friend and laugh how violence runs in the family.
- Misplaced Retribution:
- During her first visit to hololive's Minecraft server, Pekora kills her and chases her around with a sword out of belief she was antagonizing her by placing a rabbit skin in her chest. Flare admits to the deed a few minutes later.
- After her rampage in Project Winter, she actually made the girls paranoid of her when they went for another game while targeting her specifically. That point in the game, she wasn't even the Traitor.
- Morality Pet: Mel appears to be this for her whenever they do collaboration streams, considering she is much more nicer to her in collaboration streams. While she does kill her indiscriminately in games where they can kill each other (such as Project Winter and Minecraft), she slightly tones down her usual behavior around her. Every everyone else, everything goes.
- Motor Mouth: Can keep a conversation going by herself at high-speed, whether she's by herself streaming or meeting with people IRL. So far, it's been demonstrated when:
- She tried to imitate
the text to speech in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. - During her play of マッチングアプリで出会い厨してみた, she takes an in-game conversation talking about anime recommendations and decides to give her real recommendations in a manner that has been likened to Fubuki's famous glasses speech.
- She tried to imitate
- Murder Is the Best Solution:
- Her M.O. She explains why she kills people in Hitman (2016) when asked by Tamaki Inuyama, and that she was just killing people normally, never mind that the game penalizes the player for killing people who isn't the target. She also loves to kill people in online multiplayer games when able, especially Project Winter and Among Us.
- Part of her reasons playing Thief Simulator is to kill witnesses breaking into their houses, but finds out she can't. She ends up having a Non-Standard Game Over when she hits an NPC with her car, which made her angry because of her mindset.
- On of her stated goals in playing Grand Theft Auto V is to kill one million people. At one point during her second stream of it, she apologized to a NPC because she wasn't murdering him properly.
- My Eyes Are Up Here: When asked by voice actress Azusa Tadokoro
on why she didn't just give her character model a big bust if she's so touchy about flat jokes, Suisei said she wanted her viewership to appreciate her for her talent and personality, rather than being Distracted by the Sexy. - My God, What Have I Done?: She will kill friends in multiplayer games and NPCs indiscriminately, and act like But for Me, It Was Tuesday. But if a game allows killing animals with the same destruction she actively causes, she will react very badly to it and is genuinely remorseful.
- My Sister Is Off-Limits: Part of the reason Anemachi hasn't shown up in Suisei's streams since early 2020 is because Suisei isn't sure how to handle the increasing number of people falling for her sister.
- Ninja Maid: While not exactly, her 2022 outfit is a Meido outfit with a halberd as her weapon.
- No Sense of Direction: Her directional skills is left to be desired both on and off-stream. On-stream, big world and multiplayer games, she tends to get lost very easily. This is best shown when she had a Project Winter collaboration with guest Vtubers where she ended getting herself and her party lost, and her Minecraft streams where she tend to forgot where her home is. Off-stream, she went to help Aqua and Marine buy an audio splitter and forgot her phone and key. And then, she tried to ring Kanata's apartment but because they live on the same floor, she just remembered where Kanata's apartment was and not the number so ended up ringing the wrong one, in which the door neighbor called complaints on her for continuously ringing his door bell.
- Not a Morning Person: She wakes up rather late when she has a stream to prepare for, such as her meme review appearance with Coco
and her HoloTalk interview with Kiara
where she speaks very slowly due to waking up. - Not Me This Time: In social deduction games such as Among Us, because of her Comedic Sociopathy status and tendency to be shunted with the role as Token Evil Teammate, there are times she gets compromised where people think she is the killer, but she is innocent the whole time. Suisei is even aware this might happen, and so her innocence is usually proven posthumously.
- Old Shame: In-Universe, she has this personal opinion about her original model and the fact that she was trying too hard to be cute. When she appeared in NHK with her music collaborator Taku Inuoe, she immediately freaked out because her debut video was shown. On public TV. her reaction is understandable.
- Otaku: She is out and proud about all of what she likes and will happily talk about them if given even the slightest opportunity. For example, she accidentally derailed a broadcast when her co-host Tadakoro Azusa showed that she didn't follow Cardcaptor Sakura and Suisei wanted to explain the series plot.
- Percussive Therapy: Does this to her own keyboard when she gets very frustrated. This has not gone unnoticed by Bushiroad's president, who bought her a new keyboard during board meeting.
- Precision F-Strike:
- Has occasionally dropped a few F-bombs whenever she messes up while playing a game. And this is before Coco frequently does this in her streams while Miko's is far more innocent.
- Despite claiming her English is not good, she still delivered a very fluent sounding "oh my god... fuck you Yagoo"
when Luna killed her in the Among Us collab between HoloJP, HoloID, and HoloEN.
- Put on a Bus:
- The last weeks of July 2020 gave her a very busy schedule because she had to prepare to perform in China. Which meant that any planned streams such as Hitman had to be withheld until then.
- She also barely streamed during October 2020, having to prepare for her performance in the Tokyo Idol Festival and her 500,000 subscribers 3D live celebration.
- She announced that she will be on break for the entirety of May 2022 starting at the 10th while still using her Twitter account.
- She announced in late September 2022, due to surgery on her throat, she'll be taking a break for half a month while interacting with her friends on Twitter. She does show up in some collab streams, but she has to avoid talking.
- Rage Against the Author: The MV for "Caramel Pain
" has Suisei lash out at the animator who created her and attempt to break into the real world, wreaking havoc on his paint program, ransacking his desktop and getting smacked around by YouTube videos (including her own video for "Bibidiba") before finally escaping by using a 3D printer to make a physical body for herself. - Rage Breaking Point:
- When she gets truly mad, she gets very mad to the point of breaking into Angrish.
- Keep calling her a shotacon. Do it. She, in no uncertain terms, really hates this meme, and is very dead-serious about it. About the only person she's ever let make the joke is Coco, and that was during a Meme Review.
- Real Life Writes the Plot:
- In early 2021, during a celebration stream Suisei explained to her fans that her vocal cord damage she had received several months prior was not healing because of her artificially forcing herself to speak at a higher cutesy pitch for her streams as part of her role as an idol. Suisei had been slowly slipping into speaking more deeply often already, but then on she admitted that her natural pitch is extremely relaxed and low by comparison and that from then on she would have to give up the cutie act on stream permanently so that it wouldn't endanger her ability to speak or sing. Her fans were very accepting of this.
- Her fourth original song, "GHOST", is heavily influenced by her struggles early into her VTuber career. Its lyrics reflect the desire to become more than a fleeting memory; a feeling that many other struggling VTubers share in an increasingly competitive niche.
- Renaissance Man:
- Other than singing, she's also a talented artist
(her first 2D model was, in fact, drawn and rigged by herself), and capable of video editing as well, making her own music videos back when she was under Inonaka Music (this
video for example) and still taking it up now to a certain extent. She also has a reputation for being a scarily competent gamer on par with Fubuki (even more so where Tetris is concerned), and has been praised by her fellow neighbors Coco and Kanata as a great cook. - Interestingly, she also credits her multiple talents as one of the reasons her beginnings were so rocky. Most of her failed auditions got answers along the lines of "it's amazing that you can do all that, but we have support staff for a reason", and being decent at everything meant that she didn't have anything truly one-of-a-kind about her, be it good or bad. She had a hard time forging her own identity until joining Hololive proper, where she tried her hand at new things and found herself surrounded by colorful personalities she could bounce off of.Suisei: Uniqueness is what's important. And if that uniqueness hits someone's tastes, it'll become precious to them. [...] I didn't think I had that uniqueness, something that says "it couldn't be anyone else". But after joining Hololive, I started to establish myself, find the things that only Hoshimachi Suisei can do. Now I feel a bit more confident.
- Other than singing, she's also a talented artist
- Revenge:
- Suisei reveals that part of her motivation for being a Vtuber is she took lot of auditions to be a real life idol but she didn't pass any of them, saying she was a Master of None. She then learned that Vtubers were popular and decided to be one to become so popular that she could make the companies regret failing her.
- Her demonetization in January 29th reeks with the trope as she talks about it while calm but clearly angry.
- Revisiting the Roots: During her 4th sololive "SUPERNOVA" (which took place at the Nippon Budokan, an iconic Japanese arena/live venue Suisei had been aiming to perform at for most of her career), Suisei celebrated the achievement by debuting a new 3D model based on her original indie design, having wanted to remake the outfit in some way for a while due to how significant it is to her.
- Sanity Slippage:
- Rarely, but if she starts singing while losing at a game, run for your life. Fans see this as a red flag waiting to happen. In fact one time while playing
Getting Over It she started singing Tsubasa wo Kudasai. Basically - She went under a long process of this when her channel was demonetized, where her stream ideas and behavior became slowly more crazy as YouTube took an extremely long time to restore it. The most extreme example being her using her old self-made model while pretending to be a new VTuber.
- Rarely, but if she starts singing while losing at a game, run for your life. Fans see this as a red flag waiting to happen. In fact one time while playing
- Secretly Selfish: Suisei does not shy away from talking at length about how everything she does is for herself, despite being ostensibly one of the nicer and extroverted talents; this ironically makes her the antithesis of being an idol, even though she calls herself one. This attitude of hers is best exemplified in the song "TEMPLATE"
, where she sings about how the only person who can define her image is herself and she's ultimately motivated by her own happiness rather than any grander ideal. The MV takes this even further, showing her singing on without a care as two emotionally unstable fans come to blows over what they think "Suisei" should be, both unaware of just how little their conflict matters to her. - Shameless Self-Promoter: She tends to sing her own songs during streams, retweet her merchandise, and talk about her singles and her first album during her talk streams and her Scramble radio show with Azusa Tadokoro. She will also bring up any events she participated in or making near the end of streams. In her outfit reveal stream in October 2021, she even covered up her costume a couple of times with promotional images of her upcoming solo concert.
- Shared Family Quirks: While waiting for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond to download, she starts to talk to her plush as if she is literally talking to herself. A fan even points out how alike she is to Anemachi.
- Signature Laugh: Her usual laugh is usually more of a giggle, but she let out a distinct "Yihihihi" once that caught up with the fans.
- Singing Voice Dissonance: Compared to her normal high pitched speaking voice, her singing voice has an amazing deep pitch.
- Sir Swears-a-Lot: When she swears, she often swears in English (often Precision F Strikes). In fact, she already knew how to swear in English before Coco came along.
- The Snack Is More Interesting: If she ever starts or joins a social collaboration stream, there is a very high chance she is more interested in the food rather than whatever topic's involved. She's actually done this in the collaboration pizza party where she is more focused in eating the pizza, and the 2021 New Years party with Kanata, Coco, Towa, Noel, Fubuki, and Choco where the other girls were talking about various topics while Suisei is more focused on the food. Hell, even her abbreviation for A.Y.T.'s real definition is basically "I will eat Yakiniku with your money".
- Sore Loser:
- She hates losing when it comes to games, such as Fall Guys, Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics, and Tetris 99. Whenever she loses, she will usually vent out in different ways (either going on a rage or denying her losses) and retrying until either she achieves a victory or her allocated stream time is over.
- Her Yacht Dice game with Roboco in Clubhouse Games shows this prominently, as she asked for retry lost twice due to her bad luck. She was able to win the third game afterwards.
- During a Mario Kart tournament between other Hololive members, she placed badly on the qualifications and ended up being eliminated. This angers her greatly to the point she went on a training arc (and it eventually paid off, as she placed a high position on the losers' bracket), only for her to be crushed on her next stream (which traumatized her badly to the point she stopped playing Mario Kart for awhile). Thankfully, it didn't last as Suisei would go on to win the 2021 and 2023 Mario Kart tournaments.
- Stupid Sexy Flanders: During her collaboration with Coco and Kanata involving lunch, she manages to pull an ikemen voice similar to Kanata who pulled this a few times before, which did not go unnoticed by her chat. Of course her chat actually commented on how attractive she sounded.
- Super-Strength: In the Holo no Graffiti episode "The Importance of Catch", she effortlessly lifts up a boulder twice her size that would make Chris Redfield proud. Which is ironic when she couldn't lift a Tetris block containing an unknown solution without Noel's help.
- Supreme Chef: Has been stated to be a great cook, especially when friends comes over to her place, and why her Big Eater sister doesn't want to live without her. She made a Members-only stream with Kanata cooking omurice during their large multi collaboration stream that ran from November 1st to 2nd.
- Suspiciously Specific Denial: Frequently when brought up by other people, she pretends she has no idea what guest Vtubers are talking about when they mention her being a psychopath. Others actually see through this
using Project Winter and Hitman (2016) as an example of this, and her chat is often bemused by her denying it. - Talk Show: She has two: Music Space in which she had a one year contract with A+G to air her show until 2021. The second, Suikoro, where she co-hosts with Azusa Tadokoro. Both shows air on 17:00 JST with the latter just beginning to start its run after her contract with Music Space ended.
- Tamer and Chaster: Unlike most girls, Suisei's video thumbnails will either be a non-fanservice fan art, or she makes the thumbnails herself. The closest thing to a sexy fan art she uses is her at the beach, but even then, it's far more tame than some of the other girls who uses Hotter and Sexier fanart for their thumbnail. This is because she takes her idol work very seriously, and doesn't want that image ruined. It's the reason she even tells her fans to never use such work for her fan art tags.
- Taught by Experience: Suisei's singing skills are self-taught. She developed them by going to karaoke booths and practicing alone.
- Team Mom: Plays this role when playing with guest collaborators and Choco in Project Winter. After having enough food, she shares the food she cooked for the other girls while the game's blizzard was going on. This has not gone unnoticed by her chat, who calls her "Mama Suisei".
- Tears of Joy:
- One of the greatest examples is during the 2021 New Years' Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament, where she not only managed to advance to the winners' bracket, but also win the tournament outright. Cue tears.
- And again in 2023 in the 2023 New Years' Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament where despite having some serious competition in the winners' bracket, she managed to come out on top being the winner with Marine and Mio placing second and third respectively with the same joy she experienced in 2021.
- Tears of Remorse: Sadly in the 2022 New Years Mario Kart tournament, despite putting on an incredible show, thanks to a series of unfortunate hits in her last race she ends up second overall, while she tries to stay positive it's pretty obvious she's not taking it well and can be heard crying.
- Tempting Fate: There are times she tried to shed her reputation as a psychopath. But when she plays a game that even allows her to kill, she ends up being the Ax-Crazy Comedic Sociopath people known her for. 2021 is a perfect example of this when she had a dinner collaboration with Towa, Kanata, Noel, Fubuki, Coco, and Choco, she tells Towa she was trying after Towa gifts her an ancronym SMS note , and tells her she was trying to shed that image. Not for long, she states "I'm grilling [a] human". Not even 4 days later, she ends up playing Grand Theft Auto V to the point that her fans were surprised by her choice of game.
- That's All, Folks!: She ends her streams with "Otsumachi!".
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!:
- Her in-universe opinion to the supposed change to Lily's voice in Duolingo. She was so used to her low tone and when she does her fourth session, she was in denial over the changes to her voice. It turns out Lily's voice didn't change when she clicked on each word Lily repeats.
- This is why she hasn't done any collaborations with anyone for Project Winter: Due to many updates, it became harder to find neccessary items since they are in parts. Instead of inserting chips to power generators, they are needed to create said parts.
- Third-Person Person: She frequently uses "Sui-chan wa" when referring to herself.
- This Is Unforgivable!: She was demonetized in January 29th, 2021 just when she was about to upload her Bleach cover. While she talks about what happens, she acts as if she is hosting a funeral for her channel, and the last thing she says before she closes the stream is the Exact Words of the trope.
- To Absent Friends: In her Christmas Minecraft collab with Mel
, Suisei initially leaves four cakes outside the Gen 5 house before doubling back and leaving in one more for Mano Aloe. - Token Evil Teammate: Whenever she plays multiplayer games like Project Winter, expect her to go out of her way to kill every Survivor solo while the other Traitor is bemused by this. The perfect example is when Roboco was trying to kill Watame and jammed the Survivors' transmission, Suisei flat-out tells her she already killed everyone else. Roboco's reaction is a "Seriously?" while giggling at that feat. Her friends actually treat her like this despite her alignment, and even then, she at least helps with the game's objectives her way.
- Trademark Favorite Food:
- Yakiniku and boxed apple juice, to the point those two have been featured in her merchandises (the former being on the phone case with the AYT abbreviation, which comes up from her misspelling Idol Youtuber as Aidol Youtuber. For the mistake, she tries to justify it that the abbreviation can also mean "Anta no kane Yakiniku Tabe ni iku" (basically meaning "I'll use your money to eat yakiniku"), while the latter is featured as one of the icons on her T-shirt and hoodie).
- Apple juice would be Subverted Trope when Suisei revealed on HoloTalk that she actually enjoys orange juice more than apple juice note , much to the surprise of Kiara and the chat.
- In Project Winter, she tends to eat hearts. Regardless of the role she's playing. note
- She also loves skin of broiled salmon, fish eyes, chicken skin, mentaiko (pollack roe), Tara shirako (cod roe), and ankimo (monkfish liver). She will frequently bring these up when she goes to eat on her Twitter.
- Trrrilling Rrrs: She enjoys trilling her Rs, especially when she speaks in English.
- Uniformity Exception: Suisei is the only idol in the original generation to stream with a Live2D model; Sora, Roboco, Miko, and AZKi use 3D models, though Miko would finally get a Live2D model of her own as part of her 2025's April Fools stream.
- The Unmasking: Her parents and cousin found out about her Vtuber lifestyle
through random chance. - Unsportsmanlike Gloating: When she ends a game in Tetris 99 against any other players that try to snipe her, she wastes no time in gloating that they failed and she beat them regardless.
- Unwanted Assistance: As much as anyone else, she hates backseating while she's playing Dark Deception blind. Her chat tells her to use teleport on the third level, which irritates her to no end. While she does make use of it, her aggravation is clear when she tells her chat to stop.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: She's good friends with fellow genmate Miko when they collaborate games together. Professionally, they form a two-girl group called miComet and often participate in live concerts together (both paid and free). Game collaborations, Suisei tends to throw Miko under the bus if it's a multiplayer collaboration game, or just beating each other up in Minecraft (and in some cases, victimizes her). But outside of that, they get along just fine.
- Vocal Evolution: While for a good portion of her career she had a high-pitched speaking voice, due to her throat condition taking a turn for the worse because of said voice, she started speaking in a lower tone since late March of 2021.
- Weight Woe: Surprisingly subverted. She is 43kg, and openly shows it during her stream of Ring Fit Adventure while the other girls, aside from Sora, have all tried to hide their weight in the streams. She even mentions that she's the type to not really get fat despite having a healthy appetite and is actively trying to work her weight up.
- Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?:
- She's scared of insects, overly cramped places, and things that contain multiple pieces inside when broken (similar to Minecraft slimes). Those things scare her enough to the point that she went into panic screaming and driven into tears. She also had the same reaction when she saw an Enderman in Minecraft, likening them to insects
. And as expected, she gets really horrified on her first encounter with silverfishes
, the actual insect monsters in the game when Kanata showed some to her. - She's afraid of CT scanners, not only because they're claustrophobic, but also because they make her feel like she's being abducted by aliens.
- Minecraft's "Wild Update" added frogs and tadpoles, which she's also afraid of, much to Miko's amusement.

Those things scare her enough to the point that she went into panic screaming and driven into tears. She also had the same reaction when she saw an Enderman in Minecraft, likening them to insects
- The Worf Effect:
- As far as Project Winter is concerned, when she plays as a Survivor, her chances of survival is relatively small compared to being a Traitor. Whether by predators, ambush, or the group's paranoia gets the better of them. In fact, when she plays again with Matsuri, Aki, Choco, Mel, Haato, and Luna as one, she was the only Survivor until a pack of wolves attack her.
- In Tetris-related games:
- Despite her skills at Tetris 99, she often gets sniped by other players who are far more skilled and experienced than her, including actual professional players.
- In an NHK TV show, she played Puyo Puyo Tetris against one of the hosts, whom she trounced easily. When she then played against Amemiya, she lost both games within seconds.
- The Workaholic: She is a very busy person. Whenever she posts on Twitter, it is usually work-related, and has to prepare for events. This leaves her extremely tired as a result to the point that she doesn't stream as often as she used to. The positive side of this is because of her own hard work, Suisei had been dreaming to become an idol she wants to be, and manages to see the fruits of her labor didn't go All for Nothing. She is aware that her fans will feel lonely without her due to her busy work schedule and this is why she tries to join as many collaborations as she can so her fans can see her when able.
- Worthy Opponent: During the 2022 Hololive Minecraft Festival swordfight, she defeats Sora, Reine, Anya, and Miko in quick succession. And then her last opponent is IRyS, and they both fought to a draw. Neither side expected the outcome, and show respect to each other.
- You Are in Command Now: When Coco antis raided her chat after she imitated Coco in an APEX collab
, Suisei simply temporarily modded three of her long time members and nonchalantly told them to get to work. She also congratulated her chosen mods on their "kills" in chat, much to Matsuri's amusement.Suisei: Moderator, nice kill.
AZKi

Debut Date (Hololive): April 1st, 2022
Birthday: July 1st
Height: 158 cm; 168 cm (including heels)
Fanbase name: Kaitakusha (開拓者) / Pioneers
Illustrator:: KasokuSato
3D modeler: KasokuSato
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter
Age: Eternally 18
Affiliation: KanaKen Construction
- The Ace: At, of all things, GeoGuessr. AZKi's navigational skills mean she's capable of getting her answers accurate down to the meter. It even extends to locations in countries she has never visited before, much to the bafflements of her collab partners who actually hailed from there like Bae (Australia), Kiara (Austria), Ollie (Indonesia) and Calli (United States).
- She's also no slouch in Othello and has racked up multiple dominant wins against other holomems, most notably pulling off a rare perfect game against La+.
- The Ageless: Claims to be forever 18 years-old. When interviewed by Kiara in Holotalk
, she also adds that she's on Season 3, which is suspiciously similar to Marine's claim of being "17 season 3" on her birthday not even days prior to the Holotalk episode; something Kiara pokes fun at.Kiara: Uh, that seems familiar... - But Now I Must Go: Ultimately Subverted. The AZKi project was originally planned to end in July 2022 with AZKi's graduation, but with the newfound support she has received from her fans, it was decided in mid-2021 that the project would go on to "change routes" and continue on beyond the original end goal. This was cemented with AZKi moving into hololive officially, joining the "0th Generation" on April 1st 2022, ahead of INoNaKa Music's cessation of operation later that month
. - Catchphrase: "Ping-Pong-Pang-Pong", which AZKi often recites before or after giving an announcement, in reference to a jingle frequently used in Japanese intercom messages.
- Cool Big Sis: Not unlike Sora, Azki is also seen with seniority by several Hololive members, and Azki looks out of them like this. This can be especially seen with Iroha: during the period when Iroha was gradually recovering her lost voice
, Azki went out of her way to accompany Iroha in practically almost every Minecraft stream. At one point, Azki even encouraged Iroha to speak her feelings at her own pace, despite her speech not yet fully recovered
, giving Iroha all the space and time to fully articulate herself. - Costume Evolution: On February 23, 2021, she debuted her third outfit and hairstyle which gives her a more "idol" look as opposed to her usual "virtual diva" appearance. While she doesn't primarily use the second model since her redesign, it's also been updated to look visually consistent with her new look on the occasions she wears it
. - The Diva: Unlike the others, she's marketed as a "Virtual Diva" and as such, she has some of the stylings (more sensual and provocative). Her personality doesn't fit the typical expectation, however, being a soft-spoken Nice Girl instead.
- Evil Twin: Has one that debuted in this music video
, which takes the form of her classic design, but with a darker color-scheme and Supernatural Gold Eyes. - Facial Markings: A constant with her designs is those thick red stripes beneath her eyes. Her third design still keeps them but they are much smaller and under the corner of her eyes. She noticeably sheds them
the moment she reveals during her 7th live concert that she has diverged from her original path (which was to graduate in July 2022) and is on her way to a new future thanks to all the support she received. - Fashionable Asymmetry: Her fourth outfit comes with literally half of a jacket that is worn on her left side. Her outer skirt is also split into two halves that come in different colours.
- Fun Size: After getting her third outfit, she later got a chibi model she occasionally brings out during pre- or post-concert. Her concert with Mizushina Aoi shows that she is tiny when assuming this form.
- Hidden Depths: In her Flightradar 24 stream, she admitted that she likes to watch military channels of all things, and has some fascination with large-scale construction projects such as aircraft carriers. She also greatly appreciates the inputs from her fans about various military aircraft (mostly American and British) she encountered during the stream.
- Idol Singer: One of hololive's original idols, having been there since the start working under Inonaka Music. She's more committed to it than fellow singers Sora and Suisei, given that her channel
has minimal Let's Play content and has the highest number of 3D concerts. She has since picked up gaming after her first gaming stream
alongside Sora and has even expanded into different genres as time went on, such as appearing in (but not streaming) Rust as the Holoserver's premier NPC in 2022 and doing multiple consecutive streams of GeoGuessr in 2023 after getting addicted to it. - Massive Multiplayer Crossover: Hosted a 48-hour music program twice with videos from hundreds
of VTubers. Playlists of the first
and second
events. - Meaningful Name: The meaning of her name can be traced back to her first album's flagship song, "without U"
. AZKi, when pronounced in katakana, becomes "Azuki" (which means "red beans" in Japanese and goes with her theme), but "AZKi" does not contain the "u" letter, hence the album's name. She then reveals in her Holotalk session with Kiara that the reverse is also true; in other words, "Azuki" without "u" becomes "AZKi". - The Navigator: She has been interested in travelling and map-reading since her youth, which translates into her regularly getting perfect scores in GeoGuessr with extremely low margins of error. Her pinpointing skills are so great that she essentially showed Bae, an Australian, the way around
Australia, a country AZKi never visited. - Stripperific: Her first and second outfits showcase quite a lot of skin. The latter, while technically covered up the most due to her large trench coat, is particularly egregious in how AZKi appears almost naked without it.
- Tamer and Chaster: Her more "idol-like" outfit and redesign, in contrast to her two other "diva-like" outfits, is comparatively more modest in design. Her fourth design is even more conservatively dressed, even after removing the half-jacket over her white dress.
- Transplant: Like Miko and Suisei before her, AZKi was originally introduced as part of a separate project from Hololive proper, before being transferred in as a conventional idol. Hers was INoNaKa Music, which Suisei also used to be part of before her own transplanting into Hololive occurred, leaving AZKi as the label's sole remaining member until April 2022, where she too was folded into Gen 0 as an official member.
- Uniformity Exception: Unlike every other talent's live concert outfit, which is predominantly white with a side colour representing their theme, AZKi's is predominantly black while keeping the same overall design. This is a reference to the fact that AZKi was affiliated to INoNaKa Music rather than the main hololive branch until the merge in December 2019.
