    In General
  • Accent Adaptation: The Latin American Spanish dubs, both the Geecko Productions and the official one, are quite odd cases regarding this. In the official one, the imps speak with Mexican accents, barring Loona, who speaks with a neutral accent, given her voice actress is from Guatemala.note  The Geecko one, however, while Blitzo, Moxxie and Loona speak with neutral accents, Millie speaks with a Northerner accent instead as an stand-in of her Southern one from the original English version.
  • Ascended Fridge Horror: While the premise of I.M.P. having to take out a target who doesn't deserve death was toyed with since the very first episode, it was consistently subverted early on, with all their hits and opponents turning out to be Asshole Victims, cementing their Moral Luck. From the end of Season Two however, being sent to kill humans who are legitimately innocent, even good people becomes a recurrent conflict, leading to the anticipated confrontations with incredibly petty and repugnant clients, or also among themselves, since very rarely are all individual members of I.M.P. on the same level of sympathy towards a target or what certifies as making one "sympathetic". This is exacerbated by most of their Character Development within that time, meaning some of them have a greater scope of moral decency compared to before.
  • Ax-Crazy: All of them can slip into this at their worst, as shown in "OZZIE'S" where, upon returning from butchering a group of lumberjacks, the trio are in high spirits, even Moxxie, who is usually the least violent, is hyped. Millie is still exhilarated by the carnage they caused, roaring in triumph.
  • Badass Crew: "Truth Seekers" certainly establishes the I.M.P as such, since they effortlessly slaughter an opposing force that outnumbers them at least 20 to 1.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Downplayed, they wore suits while bodyguarding Octavia and Stolas, but the I.M.P also goofed off a lot in Loo Loo Land, with their boss' permission no less.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Asshole Victim, or not, I.M.P. always get their target, with any opposition that tries to stop them or make them face consequences usually easily taken out. It took until "Sinsmas", the season two finale, for them to fail to kill a hit, and even then by their own decision. If it weren't for the frequent slapstick bumbling they endure along the way, I.M.P. would border on Invincible Villain territory.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: While they are generally ruthless professionals outside their own circle, I.M.P. do demonstrate a level of kindness towards people who show them sincere sympathy, especially given they're troubled backgrounds and lowly status within Hell. While their partnership with Stolas was originally for profit, after Stolas sacrificed his livelihood for him, they take care of him and let him work at the office without complaints, despite him no longer being of much benefit to them.
  • Being Evil Sucks: Mostly subverted, as I.M.P. usually take great pride and vigor in their assassination work, though there are a few times where they cross a line even they regret. Blitzo is haunted by a long history of destructive behaviour towards himself and loved ones, while both Moxxie and Loona have been left incredibly morose after trying to show mercy to a target they felt sorry for only made things worse. They are also all clearly remorseful when their means to keep their business alive ends up ruining Stolas's life and relationship with his daughter.
  • Big Red Devil: Aside from Loona, they have the look of traditional demons with their red skin, horns, hooves, and pointed tails, although they're not exactly big.
  • Big, Screwed-Up Family: Played With. Blitzo clearly believes that I.M.P is a family and tries to treat his employees this way, which is one of the only times Loona actually seems happy about something he does, but Moxxie (who is married to his co-worker Millie) outright tells him in the pilot that they are not a family but a business. This seems to have changed a bit over time.
  • Bodyguarding a Badass: They're hired to be Stolas and Octavia's bodyguards on their trip to "Loo Loo Land", not that the former really needed it. As his swift dispatching of his final attacker revealed, Stolas could have dealt with the problem himself but just wanted an excuse to have Blitzo around.
  • Boom, Headshot!: This is I.M.P's preferred method of dealing with targets and opponents, as seen with Martha, two Imp assassins sent after Stolas in "Loo Loo Land", and several unnamed targets in "Spring Broken". Justified since the imps of I.M.P are all Fragile Speedsters who need to finish their targets off as quickly as possible before they are cornered.
  • Broken Win/Loss Streak: Be it their own tenacity as assassins or pure dumb luck, I.M.P. consistently pulled off their job throughout Seasons One and Two, with every target they were hired for being dead by the end of the episode. The exception finally happens in Season Two's finale "Sinsmas", where Blitzo ultimately turns down a hit against a loving family man that reminds him too much of Stolas. note
  • Combat Pragmatist: Justified since assassination isn't a gentleman sport, so I.M.P. seems to have a clear "all moves go" policy when it comes to both doing their job and fighting. Examples include Millie freely attacks from the back and Blitzo has zero problems with biting in a fight to set up another attack.
  • Contrasting Sequel Main Character: To the Hazbin Hotel crew. The former are demons of human origin (except Charlie, who is the Princess of Hell) and are trying to reform sinners; the I.M.P crew are natives of Hell who abuse their home's toxic environment to gain money. They are also this in terms of class — a lot of the Hazbin crew are either powerful (Charlie as Princess of Hell and Alastor as the Radio Demon) or famed in-universe (Angel Dust is a renowned adult entertainer who works for no less than one of the Overlords of Hell). In contrast, I.M.P is a group of demons just trying to run a business and aren't particularly rich or powerful, outside of Stolas from the extended cast.
  • Cool Shades: Played with, the I.M.P dons shades and suits when they act as bodyguards for Stolas and Octavia in Loo Loo Land, problem is that they're not particularly competent as bodyguards with Blitzo specifically giving Millie and Moxxie time off and himself getting distracted by an old coworker.
  • Create Your Own Hero: The group's carelessness got Blitzo and Moxxie caught out by The Men in Black organization, D.H.O.R.K.S. While Millie and Loona bail them out, the ensuing bloodbath leaves the organization with footage that hell-beings exist, giving them enough government backing to make technology to resist them and even create a portal to Hell to track them down. They are able to fulfill this when they align with C.H.E.R.U.B., a Heavenly unit who lost their jobs due to a petty dispute with I.M.P. While the two groups were merely annoyances for I.M.P. alone, their alignment allowed them to act as a much more serious threat to them.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: While they ''are'' skilled fighters, none of I.M.P's members are terribly proficient at the other skills needed for assassination, almost never planning things in advance and mostly just winging it on the job, doing a terrible job at being stealthy or covert, and overall seriously lacking any professional conduct.
  • Dark Is Evil: All of them wear dark clothing and are assassins for hire.
  • Deconstructed Character Archetype: Of the Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain. I.M.P. has all the charm and buffoonery of a standard bumbling villain group and regularly instigates several Zany Schemes to apprehend their targets. The big catch however is that, despite all their slapstick and backfires, I.M.P. consistently succeed in killing their target ultimately, often to the extent of Only the Leads Get a Happy Ending. This somehow doesn't totally override their likability due to the sheer humor and pathos they exuberate spending a whole episode trying to pull it off (helped by most of their targets being Asshole Victims as well). As such they nail every aspect of the trope, except the most iconic quota, and literally get away with murder throughout the series (and damn well enjoy it too).
  • Disguised in Drag: None of the imps care whether their disguises in the human world are gender-conforming or not.
  • Dysfunctional Family: They all come from one.
    • Both Blitzo and Moxxie were raised by horrible fathers and suffer a great deal from their Daddy Issues.
    • Loona does have a bit of a troubled relationship with her adopted father Blitzo but it is clear they still care for each other.
    • Millie's relationship with her family is mostly healthy. She loves her parents and appears to be very close with her sister Sallie May. However, her family still counts as her parents are hypocritical and don't approve of Millie's freelance assassin career or her marriage to Moxxie.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: All of them are unrepentant assassins willing to even kill children for free if they're hired to do so, but they each show a capacity for love.
    • Blitzo thinks of himself and his employees as family, being particularly affectionate with his adopted daughter, Loona. He also has a giant picture of himself with his mother and sister.
    • Millie and Moxxie are in a happy, stable, love-filled marriage. Millie also genuinely loves her parents and siblings. On Moxxie's end, he presumably has a good relationship with his parents as he had a nightmare of them being murdered; a nightmare which he, unfortunately, decided he'd go back to upon waking up as he found it less unsettling than waking up and discovering a creepily staring Blitzo atop him. Revelations in Season 2, however, makes it unclear if he considered the dream good or bad, judging by the way Crimson treated him.
    • Loona is the most bratty and immature, but she does genuinely care for Blitzo. She just hates showing it.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • They're murderers for hire, not wanton killers, and they don't like causing collateral damage if they can help it. When they accidentally shoot a child who wasn't one of their targets, they're clearly distressed and try to save the boy's life. Even when they murder him and mutilate his body at the end of the pilot, it can still count as a case of "Even Evil Has Professional Standards", as while they found him to be an insufferable jackass once he started talking, they only actually killed him when they learned he was indeed the target they were paid to take out.
    • In "Spring Broken", Moxxie points out they can't go around killing people at random just to win a bet against Verosika unless they have the clientele to cover the kill count. Blitzo agrees with him, and instead, the organization releases a discount ad to attract a lot of clients so that the people they kill do fall under their purview.
    • The group is explicitly about killing people in exchange for money, mainly in the form of assassination contracts. If a job involves killing without money or money without killing, then they'll refuse. Anybody wanting to hire them must confirm to Blitzo that both killing and money payment are guaranteed details for the job. Even then, Blitzo only did the "bodyguard" deal as a one-time offer, and any further business he will only allow in an assassination contract-like way.
    • In "Sinsmas", they can't bring themselves to kill a loving dad in front of his husband and daughters on Christmas, and leave them to enjoy their holiday. It probably helps that the client who ordered the hit, his ex-wife, was an extremely rude and unpleasant woman.
  • Fatal Flaw: Their complacency. While they repeatedly bungle missions, their consistent ability to wing it or simply dumb luck their way out of any real consequences tends to leave them incredibly brazen and overconfident that they can get away with anything. They barely attempt real stealth over brute force, and their halfhearted attempts to cover their tracks has led to enemy factions catching them out multiple times, as evidenced by D.H.O.R.K.S and later Andrealphus exploiting their carelessness for their own benefit. They also tend to overlook that, while they can often outdo any of their adversaries, that doesn't mean their allies can, evidenced by Stolas playing collateral damage multiple times, getting kidnapped and scarred by Striker due to them not deeming him a big enough threat to warn him over, and later losing his livelihood over their poorly hidden transaction with the Grimoire, which would have gotten the entire group, then only Blitzo, executed by Satan if not for Stolas Taking the Heat.
  • Foil: The team contrasts each other on several fronts in terms of personality, which tends to add to their internal conflicts.
    • Blitzo and Moxxie contrasts heavily: Blitzo is abrasive, selfish, immature, blunt, frequently psychotic and an immature Cloudcuckoolander, while Moxxie is calm, polite, mature, nice and the realistic Straight Man. This goes for their love lives: Blitzo has had many shaky, toxic relationships (Stolas, Verosika and Fizzarolli) that sunk because of his Master of the Mixed Message antics, while Moxxie's first serious relationship with Millie has blossomed into a wonderfully supportive marriage thanks to communicating their feelings regularly.
    • Millie and Loona are polar opposites in terms of personality and relationships. Millie is a Perpetual Smiler who is Happily Married and has a large family whom she loves and gets along well with (for the most part), while Loona is apathetic or angry most of the time, can't get with a guy she likes, and has a vitriolic to emotionally distant relationship with her adopted father. Particularly in the case of their parents the two have opposite ways of dealing with conflict; Loona will angrily tell off Blitzo when they're fighting, while Millie never raises her voice to her parents when they scold her.
  • Found Family via Work: Blitzo views IMP as the closest thing he has to a family — Loona taking this further by being his adoptive daughter — and while the others don't always see eye-to-eye with him, this dynamic is shown consistently throughout the show, with the group supporting and caring about each other even at their most dysfunctional. Threatening or harming the IMPs is a great way to get on Blitzo's bad side.
  • Four-Philosophy Ensemble: Blitzo is the Cynic who (despite his optimistic attitude towards his company) closes himself off from close connections and is a ruthless assassin, Millie is the Optimist who (despite her Cute and Psycho murderous nature) is a friendly person, Moxxie is the Realist who is the Only Sane Man amongst the four, and Loona is the Apathetic who cares for very little around her besides what affects her directly, albeit with a few exceptions.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble:
    • Sanguine: Blitzo is dimwitted but generally optimistic and wants to do what he can to save his failing company. He also thinks of his employees like a family.
    • Choleric: Loona is rude aggressive towards her coworkers when they try to get emotionally close to her.
    • Melancholic: Moxxie is extremely rigid and strait-laced and tries to take his work more seriously than his coworkers.
    • Phlegmatic: Millie is a more outgoing example and is overall a total sweetheart (when she's not killing anybody, that is). She is easily the most stable and level-headed of the crew.
  • The Friends Who Never Hang: Justified due to them only being co-workers, but Loona doesn't get many opportunities to interact with Moxxie or Millie, and it has been shown that Loona doesn't like Moxxie very much. The one time where Loona and Millie were forced to team up, much of it happened offscreen.
    • Despite Blitzo and Millie usually working together alongside Moxxie, the two of them don't have many interactions with each other, with an exception being during the events of "Ghostf**kers".
  • Fun with Acronyms: The assassin business run primarily by imps is called I.M.P (Immediate Murder Professionals).
  • Gender-Equal Ensemble: Made up of two men (Blitzo and Moxxie) and two women (Millie and Loona).
  • Graceful in Their Element: In missions on Earth, I.M.P. are recurrently played as bumbling, horrifically unstealthy, and with zero knowledge of their surroundings. Whenever the conflict comes down to their home territory on Hell however, or an Earth mission simply reverts to a game of brute force, I.M.P. are incredibly efficient combatants able to deliver Curbstomp Battles to even opponents with numbers or power in their clear favour.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: The group as a whole Gender Inverts this. For the guys, both of them are highly proficient in long-range sniping, alongside Moxxie being a Multi-Ranged Master and Blitzo favoring a Flintlock pistol. For the girls: while Millie is capable of killing using guns, it's not her forte, primarily acting as a Multi-Melee Master who favors knives and axes; when Loona fights, she primarily wields bladed weapons alongside her claws and fangs.
  • Heel Realization: With the occasional exception of Moxxie, I.M.P. generally brush off the collateral damage of both their work and personal antics, either choosing not to get personally involved or viewing their targets as Asshole Victims who had it coming. However, by "Mastermind", after their illegal misuse of the Grimoire gets them into severe trouble with the Deadly Sins, Stolas ends up Taking the Heat so they won't get executed. Having originally seen Stolas as merely their "meal ticket", the group are quietly humbled and sympathetic that he sacrificed his livelihood for them, with Blitzo offering him a place to stay. It is clear that the callousness of the "justice" Satan tried to inflict onto them is also making I.M.P. contemplate some of their jobs as well (e.g., "Mission: Orphan Time" has Loona hesitant to murder a father due to the trauma of Blitzo nearly being executed in front of her).
  • Heinous Villainy Needed: Downplayed. They aren't remotely heroes and are more indiscriminate assassins. While earlier episodes tended to give them a high level of Moral Luck and pit them against Asshole Victims however, as their Character Development continues, they begin dealing with pettier clients who hire them to kill relatively innocent or even genuinely good people. While I.M.P. do still take on the work, they are clearly becoming more uncomfortable with some of the jobs, and often try in vain to poke holes in their innocence. In "Mission: Orphan Time" in particular, Loona dithers to kill their target, a Mr Rogers Expy, having banked on him being a corrupt Bitch in Sheep's Clothing rather than a legitimately kind figure.
  • Hitman with a Heart: With the exception of Moxxie (and even then only occasionally), they tended to subvert this in earlier episodes, keeping their compassionate qualities strictly off-duty and not really caring who they kill so long as they are paid for it. After the events of "Mastermind" cause the group to undergo serious Character Development and a few Trauma Buttons however, they begin to demonstrate more reservations with their work if they relate enough to the target. In "Sinsmas", Blitzo straight up calls off the job, as the target was a relatively innocent husband and father who reminded him of himself and Stolas.
  • Humanizing Tears: While they are prone to comedic breakdowns, "Mastermind" has this Played for Drama when Blitzo attempts to take the fall for their crimes in court. As he faces execution, the whole group devolve into tears at the thought of losing their boss and friend. They also sob tenderly when Blitzo is freed and group hug. Especially the case for Loona and Moxxie, whose relationships with Blitzo were comically vitriolic at best.
  • Hypocrite:
    • Though posessing more Evil Virtues than most of their adversaries, they inevitably condemn a lot of them for posessing the same despicable qualities they do. It takes their near-miss with Satan in "Mastermind" to consider whether their job is any less self serving and ruthless than those they work to break from under, and even then not mutually.
    • They also mock their opponents for their grandstanding and lack of subtlety, both aspects that regularly bite themselves. "Full Moon" is a rare case they earned the right to brag about being more covert... which they do to the extent that C.H.E.R.U.B. recovers and seizes the upper hand from them.
  • Incompetence, Inc.: Mostly in the pilot, but even in their more professional portrayal in the series proper they've had a bit of a spotty track-record: from Blitzo's refusal to let Loona work in the field even though she seems like the best fighter among them, to their constant failure to wear disguises on Earth leading to Blitzo and Moxxie getting kidnapped by the The Men in Black in "Truth Seekers". Even when Millie and Loona bail them out, the ensuring bloodbath leaves the unit with hard evidence hell-beings exist and government funding to track them down. Helluva Shorts especially portrays I.M.P. as much more haphazardous in action, with them often only reaching their targets via a ton of chaos and dumb luck.
  • Karma Houdini:
    • Played with. While there's a lot of bumbling and personal woes along the way, especially with Blitzo and Moxxie, the organization thus far has a clean success rate in terms of their job, always killing their target and getting away with it, and squirming out of any attempts to make them pay for their misdeeds. The worst repercussions they have suffered is the odd kill causing them woes in the afterlife, such as Emberlynn.
    • Zigzagged against C.H.E.R.U.B., an organization they tussled with in a very reckless job that caused multiple bystander deaths, with C.H.E.R.U.B. losing their jobs and livelihoods while I.M.P. escaped with relatively zero consequences. In "The Full Moon", C.H.E.R.U.B. come for revenge at the height of a business increase, only for I.M.P. to smugly defeat them in another destructive battle, ensuring their profits. During that moment however, Blitzo and Stolas have a serious falling out, and come "Ghostf**kers", a depressed Blitzo has not only squandered their new income but most of the company's finances in general, with the entire group sans Millie implied to have been undergoing a meltdown for weeks, giving them at least a temporary sample of the financial and emotional ruin they caused their angelic rivals.
    • Comes to a head in "Mastermind", where the whole group are finally caught and put on trial for their illegal use of the Grimoire, only for Stolas to take the fall for them, not only negating their Karma Houdini Warranty but making them celebrities within the imp population. Deconstructed however, as not only are they thoroughly shaken by the whole ordeal, but all of them feel sincerely awful for ruining Stolas' livelihood, with Blitzo in particular trying to do anything to make amends for it.
  • Kindness Button: So far, all I.M.P. members have had a certain variety of person that they show explicit unwillingness to kill, at least without visible assurance that they deserve it:
    • Blitzo, following his Character Development with Stolas, dithered vigorously to kill a husband with several links to the latter. This ended up being the first hit that he officially called off when his family even reminded him of the idealised relationship he wanted with Stolas and their daughters.
    • Moxxie is unwilling to kill families, particularly Mothers (given his strong and tragic bond with his own). He straight up tries to physically stop Blitzo shooting Martha on grounds she is a seeming loving Mother, and while he relents to pulling the trigger himself when she and her family turn out to be unhinged cannibals, he still tries to give the rest of the family proper legal help over fatal justice (though this backfires). He also attempts to spare Paulie when believing he is seemingly forced into the mob life by his father, though after discovering his father is in fact a loyal man out to sacrifice himself over Paulie's own unscupulousness, Moxxie quickly converts to killing Paulie to stop Luigi from Taking the Heat.
    • Loona, after finally accepting Blitzo as her adoptive father, dithered to kill Mr. Wriggers upon realising he wasn't a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing like assumed. While she doesn't spare him, she does insist on making the kill as gentle as possible and letting him say goodbye to all his adopted kids, still haunted by almost being denied this during Blitzo's execution in "Mastermind".
    • Even Millie has one despite the fact that she doesn't have a Dark and Troubled Past and therefore, isn't that reluctant in killing innocent people, and it's in the physical form of her husband, Moxxie. This was best shown in "Sinsmas" where, when Millie was going through a brief Evil Cannot Comprehend Good moment when Blitzo called off an assassination, it's Moxxie looking at her in an uncomfortable, disappointed expression on his face as she was about to go off at him is where she snapped out of her anger and apologized for the way she was acting.
  • Lack of Empathy: Played With. Being professional assassins, I.M.P. are pretty decensitized to the suffering they cause even when not on the job. Even Moxxie, despite wanting to be a Hitman with a Heart, often proves incredibly flippant about putting it to action. Being a found family however, they prove to be extremely protective and caring towards each other and anyone else within their circle. It is shown that strangers or targets can trigger I.M.P.'s sympathy if they share a Commonality Connection or remind them too much of someone they are attached to.
  • Laughably Evil: For a bunch of unrepentant killers, they're really damn funny with how dysfunctional and argumentative they are.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: They're demons that'll kill anyone they're hired to (even kids), but they're not relentless mass-murdering monsters like a vast majority of Hell's population, and they try to refrain from killing anyone that's not their target, even going as far as doing their best to save the life of a person when they think they got the wrong one.
  • Meaningless Villain Victory: While both C.H.E.R.U.B. face-offs end with the cherubim the clear loser of the feud, I.M.P. don't come out particularly benefitting from it either due to Blitzo's antics:
    • In "C.H.E.R.U.B.", after a very lengthy tussle for Lyle's will to live that ends with C.H.E.R.U.B. accidentally killing him themselves, it is revealed that Blitzo already spent all the earnings for the hit in advance on a small toy horse. Only Lyle and his old friend Loopty benefit from his death due to being reunited in Hell, with a frustrated Blitzo telling them to get out after their grand entrance further demolishes I.M.P.'s office.
    • In "The Full Moon", the rest of I.M.P. sabotage C.H.E.R.U.B.'s ambush plans to make sure they don't mess up Blitzo's meeting with Stolas and potentially ruin the flourish of business they've been having. They succeed in defeating C.H.E.R.U.B. and kicking them back to their hideout without Blitzo even knowing... only for him and Stolas to have a massive fallout anyway. The next time we see I.M.P. HQ in "Ghostf**kers", the whole group are undergoing a meltdown, Blitzo has drained all their finances, and they haven't done a hit in weeks.
  • Moral Luck: They are nearly always A Lighter Shade of Black compared to other players in Hell and even a lot of their hits, who are generally scumbags with none of their redeeming qualities. However, it is made clear several times that this is merely a formality to I.M.P., in "Murder Family" for example, Blitzo was perfectly fine blowing Martha's head off even before she turned out to be a sadistic cannibal. The rare times this trope is revoked and I.M.P. face a genuinely innocent or at least well meaning adversary such as Collin or Mr. Wrigglers, they are usually played straight as Jerkass Villain Protagonists (albeit with Moxxie or Loona sometimes playing the ambivalent Token Good Teammate, though emphasis on sometimes).
  • Moral Myopia: They will murder anyone they are hired to (often with great enjoyment), and scoff at anyone who condemns them just for doing their job. Anyone who is sent to go after them or anyone else they care about however is liable to meet their end via an Unstoppable Rage melee however. Downplayed in "The Full Moon", while they obviously tear down C.H.E.R.U.B. for trying to assassinate Blitzo, they merely mock them for doing a poor job of it.
  • Muggles Do It Better: While royal demons like the ones from the Ars Goetia possess magical powers, many of them prove to be incompetent either due to ignorance ranging from how life works outside of a mansion to their own families' needs, having a ridiculously short fuse, or cluelessness on how to actually provide for themselves without the aid of a butler. I.M.P., on the other hand, make use of their relatively limited resources to create a genuinely successful company providing services to clients as part of an independent business rather than one that happens to serve in favor of a higher power (like what is implied to be the case with most lower-class demons). While they do have to resort to the aid of a demon prince in order to trespass into the mortal realm for a time, they still carry out their actual hits with no real forms of magic to aid them. Since they’ve also gotten the muscle memory to defend themselves with their own two hands, unlike most Goetias and even most overlords and royal demons in general, (as additionally seen in the sister series) who have to lean on their powers when the going gets tough and are therefore helpless without if they were to be taken away (as shown in “the season 2 finale”), they aren’t as easy to disarm or suddenly make powerless. Lastly, since there are usually four of them who accompany each other into most battles, they are rarely caught off-guard and watch each other's backs regardless of the number of enemies (most of the time).
  • Murder, Inc.: I.M.P (Immediate Murder Professionals) is the assassin business founded by Blitzo for the purpose of traveling to the living world and killing off those who wronged their clients when they were alive.
  • Never Suicide: If the client wants, they can make their target's death look like a suicide. Their TV commercial shows Blitzo hanging someone and Millie writing a fake suicide note. In "C.H.E.R.U.B.", when they realise their target is already considering suicide, they put all focus on convincing him to do such, even after C.H.E.R.U.B.'s intervention makes it less and less convenient than just doing the job themselves.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between:
    • Out of the I.M.P in the pilot: Millie is nice, as she is the most kind-hearted out of all of them. Moxxie is mean, as he is very aggressive, especially towards Blitzo and Loona. Blitzo is in-between, as he is mean to others, but wants everyone in his business to feel like a happy family.
    • "Murder Family" shows that in regards to their sense of morality: Moxxie is nice, preferring to only kill genuinely evil targets while sparing innocent ones. Blitzo is mean, only caring about killing his targets and getting paid, regardless of how innocent or guilty they are. Millie is in-between, as while she appreciates Moxxie's strong moral compass, she makes a point that killing people is their job that they get paid for, so innocence or guilt is irrelevant in regards to who they kill.
  • Noodle Incident: "Murder Family" shows that Blitzo has a button for clients giving birth in his office. Why he would need such a button goes unexplained.
  • Normal Fish in a Tiny Pond: They have been shown to be fairly formidable in their own right when killing humans, but it's been stated that imps are actually the lowest class of demon in the infernal hierarchy, appearing to be noticeably weaker and lacking the special powers of other demons. It's also shown that humans are actually quite capable of beating them if they lose the element of surprise.
  • No-Sell:
    • "Murder Family" shows that Blitzo, Moxxie, and Millie are all immune to Earthly fire (due to being imps).
    • A recurrent point in Season Two is that I.M.P. are so experienced to combat that they can shake off inhuman amounts of injuries that would quickly take down their opponents. The battles in "Full Moon" and "Ghostf**kers" in particular have them quickly shrug off rather brutal injuries with only a brief display of pain, before trouncing their adversary with a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown.
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: Yes, they're all various flavors of Laughably Evil and constantly bickering with one another, but they're still legitimately dangerous and not to be underestimated. "Murder Family" sees I.M.P going toe-to-toe with a family of violent serial killers and winning, and "Spring Broken" has them effortlessly trick people with a Honey Trap. "Truth Seekers" dials it up to 11.
  • Our Demons Are Different: Unlike most of the characters from Hazbin Hotel, who were mortal souls turned into demons, the imps and Loona are naturally Hell-born demons like Charlie.
  • Out of Focus: Downplayed with Season 2. While Blitzo is still the main character and has a consistent presence, the rest of the team suffer this to different extents depending on the episode in favor of other characters, Stolas in particular. None of them even appear in "The Circus", "Oops", "MAMMON'S MAGNIFICENT MUSICAL MIDSEASON SPECIAL (ft. Fizzarolli)", and "Apology Tour" in favor of Stolas for the first and fourth, Fizzarolli and Asmodeus in the second and third, and Verosika in the fourth. Loona in particular suffers this, only having a speaking role in "Seeing Stars", "Full Moon" and "Ghostf**kers" onwards.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: With the exception of Loona, who has a genuinely convincing magical Human Disguise, the rest of the team have to resort to (often poor) costumes. As when they don't use disguises though, nobody bats an eye.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • For what it's worth, they try to save the life of a child they accidentally shot, even giving him medical care in Hell after the human doctors threw the kid out the window for having no insurance. Though once they find out the kid actually was the correct target, they're more than happy to finish the job, especially since Eddie proved to be such a tremendous Jerkass.
    • In "Sinsmas" they actually spare a target; a relatively innocent family man who reminds Blitzo of Stolas.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Since they're only paid to take out certain people and need to maintain the masquerade on Earth, they try to limit themselves to doing their job with as little collateral damage as possible. In "Spring Broken", Moxxie notes that Blitzo's bet with Verosika is doomed to fail without enough clients, because "we aren't just going up to massacre" random people. Once they get to Earth, I.M.P has Loona act as a Honey Trap to lure people away, all so they can kill only their targets and avoid any unwanted attention. They do all of this less out of a sense of morality or decency, and more because they don't want the consequences of killing the wrong people to come back to bite them in the ass.
  • Pride Before a Fall: By the time of "The Full Moon", I.M.P. are relishing a business peak. Their jobs have become more sadistic, and their success rate as well as their partnership with Stolas is (seemingly) stablized enough that they believe they can get away with anything, to the extent of straight up toying recklessly with C.H.E.R.U.B. in the episode's battle. Shortly afterwards however, Stolas cuts ties with Blitzo, their boss' meltdown costs them their funds and almost liquidates the company altogether, and Satan catches wind of their illegal transaction with Stolas, giving them a blunt reminder of their mortality by almost executing them. While they manage to revert to normality afterwards, this near miss and Stolas taking the fall for them leaves I.M.P. somewhat humbler and more empathetic, with their job noticably impacted.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: Zig-Zagged, I.M.P usually only ever kills people while "on the clock", but they can still act pretty assholish during their downtime. Even when doing assassinations, they consider as "just a job" they can be needlessly sadistic and cruel. Best exemplified in "C.H.E.R.U.B" where they easily could have just shot Lyle or damaged his life support but instead decide to cruelly drive Lyle into thinking that life wasn't worth living.
  • A Real Man is a Killer: While they're all killers, everyone except Moxxie prides themselves on being able to kill people regardless of what they may have done to warrant it. Blitzo in particular chides Moxxie for not having this mentality.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: All of them are remorseless killers who have varying degrees of black and red in their design.
  • Serial Escalation: The level of ruthlessness with some of their jobs seems to become more testing as the series goes on. In early episodes, they were preserved by Moral Luck, their targets always turning out to be Asshole Victims. In "C.H.E.R.U.B", they bump off another corrupt Jerkass but nonchalantly ruin the lives of the cherubim that were hired to protect him in the process. In "Mission Weebooboo", Blitzo murders a girl who is somewhat annoying and has No Sense of Personal Space, but was targeted over an absurdly petty shipping war (he suffers Laser-Guided Karma for once since said girl's sinner form becomes a Stalker with a Crush). In later cases such as "Sinsmas" and "Mission Orphan Time", they are hired by extremely vindictive people to kill perfectly innocent targets, largely over very petty reasons. Due to their Character Development within that time, I.M.P. start to find these kills too cruel even for their liking, either turning them down or finishing the job disturbed and morose.
  • Signature Team Transport: The I.M.Pmobile, a run-down old van with their logo painted onto the side of it.
  • Smart People Shoot: The most intelligent and most reasonable member of I.M.P is Moxxie, and he's also a total Gun Nut. The second smartest, Blitzo, also often uses flintlock pistols. Meanwhile, Millie and Loona work as the muscle of the team.
  • Stronger Than They Look: None of the imps look very muscular, but both Blitzo and Millie are shown to be quite physically formidable, especially when angered, as the former have effortlessly ramming his fist through a wooden wall and manhandled opponents his size and above with ease, while Millie has literally ripped another demons' skeleton out of his body or pried open the jaws of a mutated fish hundreds of times her size.
  • Stylistic Suck: The I.M.P commercial's quality isn't exactly very good, being rather grainy, among other things.
  • Super-Toughness: They have the regular-issue durability that comes with being a demon, which comes out in full force when they go to the living world, as they retain that durability up to the point where only blowing out their brains will send them back to Hell, whereas the humans they go to kill are just as squishy by comparison as you'd expect. They are also completely immune to fire, as revealed when Blitzo and Millie are burned at the stake. That said, while destroying their brains is the only thing that will re-kill them, being shot, stabbed, or smashed can still hurt and incapacitate them.
  • Sympathetic P.O.V.: The group greatly benefits from this on both an overall level and as individual characters. While the narrative shows them as very likable and multifaceted characters with their own slowly developing sense of morality, from an objective standpoint they're a group of incompetent hitmen who will kill anyone their client asks for so long as they're being paid and cause loads of collateral damage wherever they go, they frequently break Hell's laws when doing so, and have managed to alert Earth of their existence to the point the United States Government has granted D.H.O.R.K.S. the funding to research ways to fight against if not invade Hell. Part of Season 2's theme though is removing that POV and making the members of I.M.P reexamine themselves after seeing themselves from the outside while making them more conventionally sympathetic. Individually:
    • Blitzo comes off as a rude and crude career criminal and ringleader of the group, as well as responsible for emotionally breaking hundreds of other demons that developed feelings for him. Part of his development comes from seeing for himself how many people he's hurt in his own self-destruction and realizing for himself that he is loved, while becoming a genuinely inspiring leader and person to both I.M.P and the rest of Imp-kind. He remains a cold-blooded assassin, though later instances test Blitzo's sympathy a lot more by pitting him against genuinely innocent targets, leading him to suffer Laser-Guided Karma or have a change a heart, not too differently from outcomes a standard Likable Villain undergo.
    • Moxxie ends up looking like a self-aggrandizing and arrogant twit with a fragile ego, regularly preaching about the morality and ethics of the job while either buckling under the rest of the group's peer pressure or going through with killing the target anyway once they pissed him off. The later episodes and shorts do start vindicating Moxxie's softer moments, though still deconstruct them with moral dilemmas like murdering their target anyway to save another human, showing his aim to be a Hitman with a Heart is a lot more complicated in action. Noticably, whenever Collin, his Good Counterpart, is in focus, Moxxie is portrayed as no less cruel and arrogant than Blitzo, making clear he is still only A Lighter Shade of Black from his teammates.
    • Millie ends up looking like an insane brute with little identity outside of killing and being Moxxie's wife. A key part of her focus in Season 2 was exploring how that kind of perception negatively affects her and caused her to put herself down until Blitzo met and inspired her, after which a good amount of her focus is in crafting her own identity outside of those traits. Even then, her indifference towards Moxxie and other's moments of conscience hint this may be A Lesson Learned Too Well for her.
    • Loona is the only subversion due to being Out of Focus for all of Season 1 and most of Season 2, with most of her background being shown from Blitzo's perspective rather than her own, and causing her to largely come across as she's depicted: a moody and bratty womanchild. When she does get focus like in "Spring Broken", "Queen Bee", "Seeing Stars", and "Mission: Orphan Time", she's shown to be much more vulnerable and the actual Token Good Teammate of the group, but it still avoids giving her the Sympathetic P.O.V. by not shying away from how her behavior still has its negative sides, especially when shown from the others perspectives like Blitzo's in "Ghostf**kers". Her most impactful sympathetic moment thus far remains her massive Jerkass Realization after Blitzo's near-execution in "Mastermind", where after she not only understands the level Blitzo loves her, but becomes the one I.M.P. member self aware there is barely a hair of difference between Satan's callousness in that scenario and what they do to their targets.
  • A Taste of Defeat: Usually even at their most bumbling, I.M.P. always somehow manage to kill their target. There are two occasions they left empty handed however:
    • In "Sinsmas" they are hired by an exceptionally vindictive client to kill her ex-husband on Christmas. Given the similarities the target has to Stolas however, the mission hits too close to home for Blitzo, and following Moxxie's suggestion, he wilfully passes up the job.
    • In "Mission: Bigfoot", the titular Sasquatch manages to throw the oblivious I.M.P. off his trail the entire short, to the point Blitzo eventually decides that Bigfoot doesn't exist. They shoot a lookalike in a costume to pose as the client's target however.
  • A Taste of Their Own Medicine: Multiple adversaries have tried to target I.M.P as payback, with varying degrees of failure. D.H.O.R.K.S. more directly attempted this by sending C.H.E.R.U.B. into Hell to assassinate Blitzo, though the rest of I.M.P. stopped them. A more culminative case occurred when Satan tried I.M.P. for their illegal use of the Grimoire and threatened to have them executed. Though they were saved by Blitzo and Stolas consecutively Taking the Heat, it was clear this near miss shook the group a lot more and impacted their relationships, with the preceding episodes and shorts even demonstrating a newfound lack of enthusiasm to pull off jobs that hit too close to home.
  • The Team: Blitzo is The Leader; headstrong, tries to be a Mastermind type but is constantly criticized for being incompetent. Moxxie is The Lancer who doubles as The Smart Guy; a cultured, polite imp skeptical of Blitzo's eccentric yet nonsensical strategies. Millie is Moxxie's wife, who also takes the role of The Big Guy and The Heart, the mediator between Blitzo and Moxxie's bickering, but will relentlessly maim her targets and especially those who harm her husband. Loona shares the role as The Big Guy with Millie, and not only does she tower over the imps, if "The Harvest Moon Festival" is any indication, Loona being summoned by Blitzo to fight Striker seems to speak volumes about her combative prowess. Then "Truth Seekers" comes along and we see exactly how dangerous she is. The only reason Striker is still alive is the fact that she didn't take Blitzo's summons seriously.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: The I.M.P staff can barely stand one another, which is the internal conflict that arises in conjunction with actually running their business and carrying out their contracts. This trope has downplayed as Character Development has played out, with it being emphasised more and more that the group do all sincerely care about each other.
  • Two Girls to a Team: Millie and Loona are the only female members of I.M.P..
  • Underdogs Never Lose: The show repeatedly emphasises that I.M.P., consisting of imps and a hellhound, is the bottom rank in Hell's system. Despite this, I.M.P. nearly always come out the victor in every episode and have very seldom lost a fight, even against higher ranking demons. Even the beatings I.M.P. do endure only emphasise the inhuman amount of damage they can shake off compared to their adversaries. Only Satan's forces had them completely at their mercy, and even then Blitzo and Stolas manage to rather easily manipulate him into sparing them. Lampshaded with their fight against Andrealphus in "Sinsmas" . Despite ultimately needing Octavia to intervene due to him eventually gaining the upper hand, the lengthy portion of the fight beforehand was a Curb-Stomp Battle in their favour, an accomplishment so humiliating for a high rank Goetia that Andrealphus knows he'd never live it down if it were made public.
  • Villain of Another Story: As the series progresses, they lean more and more as such, as while they are still very much assassins (with later episodes if anything delving into the sketchier elements of their work like killing innocent people), a large amount of the show's focus is more on their personal lives and dealings in Hell, most of which they have a much more mundane relationship with or are even the relative "good guy" of in terms of conflicts. Helluva Shorts largely exist as a showcase of their actual occupation, albeit Deconstructed somewhat, as the Character Development they undergo in the main episodes is starting to impact their performance.
  • Villain Protagonist: An organization that murders living people on behalf of their clients for whatever reason, justified or otherwise. They're also the main protagonists.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Their status as imps and a hellhound put them at the absolute bottom of Hell's pecking order, being the weakest a demon can possibly be, especially the imps, since unlike hellhounds such as Loona that possess small amounts of magic, the imps are near powerless outside of fire immunity and Super-Toughness. Despite this physical weakness, all four show themselves to be vastly more skillful and resourceful when it comes to their assassination abilities than most of their opponents. It especially shows well when faced against C.H.E.R.U.B, who are Unskilled, but Strong when it comes to their magical abilities, with I.M.P having the angels heavily on the ropes due to utilizing both the cherubs weaknesses and their own surroundings to maintain an advantage. Said situation subtly implies that if I.M.P weren't in the perfect situation to use said advantages, C.H.E.R.U.B being inherently stronger would've caused them serious trouble.
  • We Have Become Complacent: Due to besting every adversary they meet and their general "Don't give a shit what others think" worldview, I.M.P.'s arrogance and negligence in practice slowly start to bite them as the series goes on and more long-term problems start to rise:
    • Their brazen attitude and overall carelessness during missions leads to them eventually being caught out by D.H.O.R.K.S. While they still shrug them off after they easily escape and defeat them, the group recorded footage of them in action, allowing them to get government backing and technology to properly track down and fight IMP, as well as enlisting C.H.E.R.U.B. who were also screwed over by I.M.P. over a petty dispute. The latter initially laugh at their foes coming back for another beating, only to be put through a much more intense battle where they all take wounds. I.M.P. still win, though it is made clear they underestimated previous victims' abilities to recover and bite back harder.
    • While they regularly humiliate their Rogues Gallery enough to justify their indifferent attitude, they also sometimes fail to anticipate that just because they can fend off dangerous figures like a regular occurrence doesn't mean others can. In "Western Energy", Stolas is captured by Striker, with Blitzo forgoing dealing with the problem himself to give Loona her Hellbies shot. It is only after Millie and Moxxie come back with the scarred and passed out Stolas that Blitzo realises that he was in actual danger. Naturally Stolas is even more upset when he discovers Blitzo knew Striker had a contract on him for a long while before, but never bothered to warn him due to viewing Striker as little more than a nuisance.
    • The large majority of their actions as a profession are illegal even in Hell. When authorities finally catch wind of their unauthorised lending of Stolas' Grimoire and confront them, I.M.P. are completely taken by surprise and resort to frantically destroying anything and everything in the office before trying to escape. They are handily caught, tried and almost executed for their crimes, only spared by Blitzo and later Stolas Taking the Heat. While they get off the hook, with the organization even gaining some positive attention from the court win, the group are left quite rattled by this reminder of their mortality against Hell's higher forces, not to mention rather guilt-ridden by the severe consequences Stolas still had to suffer.
  • Women Are Wiser: Though far from flawless, being Hell-born civilians and all, Millie and Loona tend to bungle and land themselves in peril far less often than Blitzo and Moxxie, and even their more ruthless qualities tend to only make them more efficient at their job. This gets Deconstructed for Loona after she finally gets to play an active role in missions....and completely botches her first one due to her Character Development making her more empathetic than her father.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Zig-Zagged. I.M.P will murder children if hired to do so, with the jingle itself even saying they'll do it for free, but they are horrified when they shoot a child who seemed to just be in the wrong place at the wrong time and even tried to get him medical care. Of course, once they learn he was the target, they have no issue finishing him off, especially since he had just insulted all of them.
  • Would Not Shoot a Civilian: They have no real rhyme or reason to take out anyone who they aren't paid to deal with, and so they try to avoid collateral damage. When they shot a kid accidentally in the pilot episode, they rush to try and save him. When Blitzo, Moxxie and Millie are all beaten and captured by a murderous cannibal family, they decide to leave as soon as their target is dead rather than take out the rest. When Blitzo challenges Verosika that he can kill more people than she can screw, Blitzo makes it so all the people he kills were targets.
  • Yellow Eyes of Sneakiness: Aside from Loona, they all have yellow sclera, and make a living as an incredibly shady organization of hitmen.

"Have you guys forgotten what service we provide?"

The founder and manager of Immediate Murder Professionals (I.M.P). An energetic but incompetent boss, Blitzo tries to motivate his employees to do a better job, but his methods leave a lot to be desired. The "o" in his name is silent. At least, it is now.
For tropes about Blitzo, see his page here.

"We aren't a family, sir! You are the boss! We are the employees!"

Voiced by: Richard Steven Horvitz (English) Foreign VAs

"You told me we were going to run this assassination business like professionals. You even put in the company name. And on the billboard. And the jingle!"

An assassin and I.M.P's resident weapons expert, as well as Millie's husband. Despite sticking out like a sore thumb amongst the generally murder-happy I.M.P team, he serves as the voice of reason among I.M.P — or, at least, he tries to. Blitzo never seems to actually heed any of his advice, much to his increasing frustration.
  • Absurd Phobia: He admits to Millie that he's disturbed by theme park mascots, easily being scared by one in "Loo Loo Land". Possibly downplayed since his reasoning apparently has something to do with the mascots being "a pervert under there", to which the subject of his accusation sighs and sullenly agrees. And then subverted when we learn in Season 2 that Moxxie's father is a mafia boss who hides his activities in an abandoned theme park, including torture and murder, and that Moxxie was forced to witness this and maybe even to participate when he was still a child.
  • Affably Evil: He swears the least out of anyone in the show, and he always refers to Blitzo as "sir." He's also generally kind-hearted and polite, all of which kind of belies the fact that he's an actual demon from Hell and a professional assassin for hire.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Millie tends to call him "Moxx". Chaz called him Moxxie-Poxxie.
  • All Gays Love Theater: Moxxie is openly bisexual, is a massive fan of musical theatre, and comes with suggestions to Blitzo for performances to see, like Cats and Les Misérables. He specifically has the hots for the iconic theatrical/musical actor Michael Crawford and wishes to know what sex with him would be like. He also lights up at the end of "Ghostf**kers" when the TV plays the musical version of the titular show.
  • Alternate Catchphrase Inflection: While he normally spouts “Oh, crumbs...” when frightened or shocked, his iteration of it following a heated argument with Millie over his jealousy in the face of her newfound stardom in “Unhappy Campers” was more so out of shame upon realizing just how much his selfishness has hurt his wife.
  • Amazon Chaser:
    • While he adores everything about her, the thing Moxxie seems to find most attractive about Millie is that she's a highly skilled killer. He's often at his most in love with her when she's showing off her fighting abilities.
    • In a same-sex example, he admits to finding Loopty Goopty's supposed desire for brutal revenge "kind of hot".
  • Ambiguously Jewish: Says "Oy gevalt" during his musical hallucination in "Truth Seekers". Possibly subverted in "Exes and Oohs", where his dad forces him into a wedding with a shark-demon in a mitre presiding, implying that his family is Catholic or a Satanic denomination of some kind, though given that his mother is of a different background than Crimson, it's possible she was Jewish and he picked up his Yiddish from her. (They probably needed something to rhyme with "your fault").
  • Animals Hate Him: He gets attacked by a shark enough times for it to become a Running Gag in “The Harvest Moon Festival”.
  • Anti-Villain: Just like his wife Millie, he's only working for Blitzo as an assassin because it gives him a paying job where he can use his skill to kill with guns, though he also likes that it gives him plenty of opportunities to watch in loving awe how skillfully murderous Millie is. However, he initially had some difficulties accepting the "villain" part due to his strong sense of morality, which risked ruining a job during "Murder Family". While he comes around to accepting that he needs to leave innocence and guilt out of the job, he still prefers getting things done quickly and efficiently so that he can get his paycheck sooner, having no interest in torturing or tormenting targets.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Normally he subverts this trope, often being the most disciplined and straight-laced member of the team, but he's shown to have a particular weakness for mortal-realm souvenirs, getting hopelessly sidetracked by literally every vendor he encounters in Los Angelos during the events of "Seeing Stars".
  • Attention Whore: In "Unhappy Campers". While he and Millie are infiltrating a summer camp, Moxxie quickly becomes obsessed with the idea of his "Moxxine" persona becoming beloved by the other campers, doing everything he can to get their attention and admiration.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: He is often at odds with Blitzo due to their conflicting personalities but from the episode "Truth Seekers" and onward, their relationship begins to grow. Blitzo does believe in Moxxie's abilities as an assassin. Moxxie gets along with Blitzo much better afterwards, though pressured circumstances such as in "Unhappy Campers" and "Mastermind" sometimes still bring out their vitriol with each other. Despite this, he does care for Moxxie and they genuinely are friends.
  • Back-to-Back Badasses:
    • He and Millie are doing this while shooting their respective guns in the "Oh Millie" song.
    • Again with Blitzo in "Truth Seekers" against the D.H.O.R.K.S agents.
  • Badass Adorable: Much like his wife Millie, Moxxie is no slouch in this department, either. He lacks the energetic personality to be a straight example, being more so the Only Sane Employee. Nevertheless, he's a well-meaning, slightly neurotic, tad clumsy, Endearingly Dorky theatre geek who is utterly, adorably devoted to his wife. And appearance-wise, he's just as cute as her, being around her height and having Youthful Freckles. But while he may be the physically weakest employee at I.M.P, he more than makes up for it as the resident weapons expert who specialises in firearms. And he's able to go Guns Akimbo with a pair of sub-machine guns.
  • Badass Bookworm: He's a total nerd about weapons, and even if he's somewhat physically weak, he's still really good with guns.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: His regular outfit consists of a snazzy black & white suit with red buttons and a big red bowtie. He's also the most "professional" of the killers in I.M.P, along with being quite skilled when it comes to using firearms.
  • Battle Couple: An Unholy Matrimony variant. He's a co-worker to his wife and they go on hired assassinations together.
  • Being Personal Isn't Professional: Initially, he vehemently disagrees with Blitzo's insistence that I.M.P is a family and would prefer to just have an employer-employee relationship with his boss. It doesn't help that Blitzo's ideas of familial relationships include hiring his hellhound daughter despite her complete apathy for the job, and stalking Moxxie and Millie relentlessly outside of work. He does seem to be won over as the series goes on however, with implications he even desires a father/son relationship with Blitzo.
  • Beware the Nice Ones:
    • As "Murder Family" shows, he's a really good shot when he wants to be, putting a bullet through someone's head and out of their eye socket. While shooting them from behind, no less. It's just that most of the time, Moxxie would rather do things with as little of a mess as possible.
    • While he is the most moral bound of the group, in "CHERUB" he is quite upfront to the rivaling cherubin that he is still a willing assassin who finds the idea of redeeming an asshole client utterly stupid, and shares as much antipathy towards Collin as the rest of IMP do their cherub counterparts. Given Collin's Sheep in Sheep's Clothing role within C.H.E.R.U.B, and his less conditional meekness towards killing or revenge, this ironically makes Moxxie the cleanest Evil Counterpart on I.M.P's side, while the others are more Grey-and-Grey Morality.
    • In "Western Energy," when Stolas is being held hostage by Striker — endangering Moxxie's meal ticket and the future of his employer — he's all business from start to finish. When some hoodlums in Wrath harass him at a gas station on the way to Striker's hideout, he kills them all before the tank is done filling up, and when it comes to confront Striker himself, he immediately takes aim and starts blasting as soon as he has line of sight.
    • After the humiliation he suffered the entire mission beforehand, Moxxie is completely laser focused on their target in "Unhappy Campers", attacking him in a rage, and when Barbie Wire violently forces him off, he fights back with equal viciousness. His fury with both reaches a point that Blitzo has to hold him down.
  • Birds of a Feather: While Blitzo and Moxxie are different as night and day, they do have one similarity — both have manipulative and abusive fathers. Blitzo softly acknowledges this in "Exes and Oohs", implying he's happy they finally have something to bond over.
  • Butt-Monkey: He's mocked for his small dick and allegedly being fat (mostly by Loona) and he gets injured a lot, even more than the others.
  • The Cameo: A voice-only one, but during the Hazbin Hotel one-night Broadway show, Richard Steven Horvitz comes in at the end of "Hell's Greatest Dad," replacing Mimzy's part.
Richard Steven Horvitz: I'm here! What a gas! Took a while, but I'm present at last! It's me, it's me, Moxxie!!!
  • Casual Kink: "Truth Seekers" shows that Blitzo is completely correct in the assumption that Millie pegs him. Downplayed in that he's not the one being casual about it as much as Blitzo takes the opportunity to get it out of them when under a truth serum.
  • Catchphrase: "Oh, crumbs." He says it when he's shocked or in times of worry, such as when he realizes that the family whose matriarch he initially refused to kill are Satanist cannibals in "Murder Family", or when he sees Millie's favorite ride at Loo Loo Land in "Loo Loo Land".
  • Celebrity Crush: According to Millie, Moxxie would like to know how it feels to have sex with Michael Crawford.
  • Character Blog: He has an Instagram account called simply_moxxie.
  • Characterization Marches On: His character is mostly the same between the pilot and episode one, but one big difference is his stand on morality. In the pilot, he's completely unconcerned about the innocence or guilt of a target, only caring about whether they are the target, something shared with the other I.M.P members, to the point where he's completely unperturbed by joining the others in killing the kid once they found out he's both a jerk and their target. In the first episode proper, he heavily dislikes the idea of killing innocent people even when they are his targets, greatly preferring to only kill people that deserve it, and even then his moral compass is so strong that after killing his target, he chooses to call the police on the target's family rather than kill them, despite them trying to kill I.M.P earlier and being cannibalistic Serial Killers, and is horrified when the police immediately blow up the house to kill them instead of arresting them. He still has dips early in Season One however, in CHERUB for example, he vehemently mocks the cherubin's idea of redeeming a sinful target as much as his comrades and has zero qualms killing a whole room of innocent people just to get them out of the way of their one hit.
  • Children Forced to Kill: When he was younger, his father tried to get Moxxie involved in the crime family business by shooting an imp, but is stopped by Moxxie's loving mother. When she is gone from the picture, Crimson has a horrified and crying Moxxie drown a pleading and sobbing imp via Cement Shoes.
  • Cold Sniper: As the weapons expert of I.M.P, he primarily kills people through long-range gunning like with a sniper rifle, and he's the most reserved and professional among the entire company.
  • The Complainer Is Always Wrong: Played for Laughs. At least in Blitzo and Loona's view, Moxxie's rarely right. The Universe itself likes to make Moxxie wrong from time to time too by putting Contrived Coincidences in his way. Subverted a few times when it's a moral and/or dangerous situation.
  • Complexity Addiction: In "Unhappy Campers" Moxxie gets the chance to lead an assignment, which is a total disaster because he considers the direct approach to be for simpletons.
  • Covert Pervert: Moxxie is quite professional and uptight but sang in his song to Millie that she's a "maniac" when it come to sex and he loves it. In "Spring Broken", when Millie asks Blitzo what sex with Verosika was like, given that she's a celebrity, she points out to an angry Moxxie that he'd want to know what sex with Michael Crawford was like, and he can only give a Touché in reply. When under the effects of a Truth Serum in "Truth Seekers" Moxxie admits to enjoying being pegged by Millie. In another episode he mentions that he finds the idea of eternal torture 'kind of hot.' He also asks for Striker to choke him harder.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Him being both the Only Sane Employee and Team Mom of I.M.P results in him always coming to a job overly prepared for any possible situation, such as carrying an unnecessarily large amount of antacids, ibuprofen, and morphine to Loo Loo Land just in case things get stressful, and when on a kill-job he makes certain to pack enough of a Walking Armory to weaponize a small platoon just in case he needs the firepower.
  • Creepy Crossdresser: Played With. He's an unrepentant assassin, but he's also polite and affable, so whenever he cross-dresses, he toes the line between this and Wholesome Crossdresser. Played Straight but also for laughs in "Unhappy Campers" with his Moxxine disguise, who is portrayed as an off-putting and annoying jerkass Valley Girl.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: It's rare, but Moxxie can very much put up a fight.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: A very tragic example. In "EXES AND OOHS", it's revealed that his father is The Don to a mafia crime family in the Greed Ring. While his mother tried to protect him and give him a normal childhood, his father Crimson is a Control Freak who sees his son as another mook to use at his discretion, with implications that he murdered his wife because she objected to his cruelty. He met and started dating Chaz when he officially became a member (much to his homophobic father's disapproval), only for Chaz to leave him to get arrested at a botched Bank Robbery.
  • Dating What Daddy Hates: Played With, while Crimson is very homophobic and Moxxie straight up says that he hated Chaz, it quickly becomes apparent that Crimson really doesn't give a shit who Moxxie dates, but only cares about how they can be useful and that they don't get in the way of his control of his son. At first, he treats Millie with respect, but when Moxxie says he can't marry Chaz because of Millie, Crimson immediately derides her as just a beard, and insults the crap out of her during her rampage against his men.
  • Depending on the Writer: Even after the pilot, Moxxie's role as the Token Good Teammate comes and goes episode to episode. The revised pilot "Mission Zero" firmly reestablishes Moxxie as being against killing innocents and causing any unneccessary deaths outside their target, with several later appearances like "Sinsmas" and "Mission: Whacked Out" spotlighting his moral code still in play. In cases like "C.H.E.R.U.B." and "Mission: Bigfoot" however, Moxxie is as blasé and unfettered as the rest of I.M.P. about killing undeserving targets or even unrelated bystanders in the process of doing their job.
  • Deuteragonist: The majority of Season One gives him almost equal screen time and focus as Blitzo, making him the second most important member of I.M.P. In Season Two this laxes somewhat in favor of giving Stolas more screentime, though is maintained somewhat in Helluva Shorts, which are mostly Blitzo centric, but with Moxxie getting the most roles otherwise, supporting or central limelight.
  • Did Not Think This Through: Tries to perform a traditional love song in a sex club owned by the Demon Lord of Lust, only to be ridiculed for the sheer audacity of it.
  • Disguised in Drag: One of his mortal realm disguises while I.M.P is showing Lyle the horrors of life is that of a blonde woman, complete with black lipstick and a blazer. In a later episode he takes on the persona of 'Moxxine', a Valley Girl stereotype complete with pigtails, a crop top and revealed later a set of lacy lingerie. In a different episode during a hallucination of Blitzo's he appears in a Cinderella-esque old fashioned ball gown, complete with heels and a flabellum style fan.
  • Distressed Dude: Out of all the I.M.P. members, he is by far the most liable to be put in peril or captured by an adversary, usually with Millie rescuing him.
  • Double Standard: Rape, Female on Male: 'Spring Broken' features a scene where he attempts to confront Verosika and her gang. We see in silhouette their flirting with him and his insistence that he's married, before they all attack at once. When he emerges from the room, he's covered in lipstick and clearly distraught, which angers Blitzo, but the scene is Played for Laughs.
  • Dragon Rider: Subverted and downplayed, near the end of "Loo Loo Land" while the amusement park is burning around him, Moxxie somehow finds himself riding a dragon that's usually kept in the parks' petting zoo, but his terrified expression as the dragon swallows Robo Fizz shows he's got absolutely no control over it.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: A silhouette of him appears in the Hazbin Hotel pilot at one point, though unlike Blitzo, he's not immediately obvious.
  • Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: He murders people for a living, but flashbacks show he had very close and loving relationship with his mother.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • He may give Blitzo hell for his incompetent, inappropriate, and disgusting behavior, but even Moxxie finds Eddie's insults towards his boss uncalled for.
    • The first episode shows that he isn't very comfortable with the thought of wiping out an entire family. He only lets up on his hesitation after seeing the true colors of his current targets as psychotic Satanist cannibals. Though even after killing the wife (his intended target) of said family after they tried to kill him, he still calls the police on the husband and children rather than kill them in retribution and is utterly horrified when said police blow up the house with the family in it.
    • In "Spring Broken", while he learned his lesson from the first episode about the irrelevance of innocence when it comes to targets, he's still the first to point out that their business is taking out specific targets in exchange for money, and slaughtering random people on Earth without guaranteed compensation just for the sake of their Demon Duel against Verosika would be counterproductive to their moneymaking efforts.*
    • In "Mission: Bad Drivezo" When he discovers that the reason Drivezo was in such a hurry was to have incestuous sex with his now legal son, Moxxie is so disgusted that he doesn't think twice before deciding to kill the guy.
  • Evil Virtues: Moxxie exhibits quite a few commendable virtues, while he's readily the kindest of the I.M.P, his profession makes him evil by default.
    • Creativity: He is musically talented (both singing, playing and composing songs) and shows this by serenading his wife. This doesn't translate to him being good at insults though.
    • Kindness: By far the most gentle and moral Imp on the team, opting to let their target Martha's family live rather than gun them all down, instead calling the authorities on them. When they're killed off by the police he called, Moxxie is horrified. Millie states it best: "You have a good heart, just a fuzzy head".
    • Love: Moxxie absolutely adores his wife Millie, who reciprocates the feeling to the fullest. He shows this by standing up for her to her parents when they scold her for not killing Striker and having excuses for it, despite being very nervous around them himself. The two have a very affectionate relationship and can hardly keep their hands off each other during a gun battle with Cherubs. Moxxie similarly is implied in the Pilot to have a good relationship with his parents, considering he has nightmares about their deaths. Of course, we find out that Moxxie only had a good relationship with his mother — his dad however...
    • Passion: He is deeply passionate about guns, weapons-technology and war-history in hell, which comes in handy when using or identifying weaponry. He is also knowledgeable about music in several forms, but seems to favor classics like opera over modern music like pop.
    • Responsibility: He takes the time to call the police on Martha's cannibalistic family and highlight the paternal responsibility to the father of the family, trying to make him see reason for the sake of his children's future.
    • Vigilance: Moxxie literally carries enough firearms and close-combat weapons around his person to arm a small platoon of soldiers, perfect during a prolonged firefight or to live up to the company's policy of letting clients keep the murder weapon. This also comes to the fore in "Loo Loo Land" wherein he offers up antacids, ibuprofen, and morphine to Octavia when she said she was going to be sick.
  • Extreme Doormat: Eddie calls him this, although it's subtler than most examples. Unless his Berserk Button is pressed, he'll usually swallow his pride, as seen with Loona eating his lunch.
  • Felon's Failson: Moxxie is a classic White Sheep, the son of mafia boss Crimson, an unrepentant and cruel piece of garbage who kills anyone who crosses him. While Moxxie is talented with firearms and can be a skilled assassin, he doesn't have the same sheer merciless nature as his father. In fact, Crimson attempted to train his son into becoming as ruthless as himself, but Moxxie's kindhearted mother often blunted his efforts, leading to what is heavily implied to be that Crimson killed his wife for interfering. Ultimately, Moxxie couldn't handle being part of his father's criminal enterprise or his abusive nature and sought to escape, thus leading him to join Blitzo's startup Murder, Inc. of I.M.P.. Crimson made attempts to force his son back into the family business but Moxxie remains defiant, leading father and son to become enemies. Notably, whilst Crimson's sheer ruthlessness has allowed him to rise impressively high for an imp, it's made abundantly clear he's not as smart or as successful as he thinks he is, leading to him making several serious blunders out of pure arrogance.
  • Foil:
    • To Blitzo. Moxxie is in a healthy, happy marriage with Millie. Blitzo has an unhealthy relationship with Stolas, characterized by a power imbalance, and pushes away anyone who gets close. Moxxie prefers planning kills meticulously, often overcomplicating and missing obvious solutions. Blitzo acts impulsively without regard for consequences. Their upbringings also differ. Crimson groomed Moxxie as a successor for his mob family, killing Moxxie's mother for making him "soft" through love. Cash Buckzo treated Blitzo as a talentless circus employee at best, and at worst as worthless, nearly selling him to Paimon for "a wadded up 5 dollar bill and a slim fit condom". Cash manipulated Blitzo through his mother to do his bidding, such as robbing Paimon's palace.
    • His Beta Couple with Millie is essentially the "win state" for Stolas and Blitzo, both of them having overcome any fundamental insecurities and gone on to a happy relationship.
  • Force and Finesse: The "finesse" to Millie's "force"; his area of expertise is centered on tactics and gunplay rather than brute force, though this unfortunately leaves him in a tough spot when forced into melee combat against completely superior opponentsnote . That being said, he can still take quite a beating despite lacking the strength to fight back.
  • Gender-Blender Name: When one thinks of "Moxxie", it's usually given to a girl. This Moxxie is a guy.
  • Gender Nonconforming Equals Gay: Moxxie has several stereotypically feminine hobbies, loves musical theater, is an avid crossdresser, allegedly has a Teeny Weenie according to other characters, and has a fairly submissive personality especially when compared to his wife. So it's not really much of a surprise that he's bisexual and has dated a male shark demon in the past.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: While he does occasionally belt out actual swears, it's only rarely, with them mainly slipping out when he's angry. He otherwise sticks to exclaiming tamer stuff like "oh crumbs" or "gosh" when in situations where they're appropriate. The fact he switches to much more frequent genuine swearing when he gets drunk in "Spring Broken" implies he deliberately tones down his language when he can help it, likely as another way of maintaining a "professional" image.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: He becomes incredibly jealous and acts like a child when "Millerd" gets the attention and adoration of all the campers in Happy Campers. He grew out of this by the end.
  • Grew a Spine: He stands up to his father when he tries to force Moxxie into an unwanted marriage. Unfortunately, he has one of his goons taze him and drag him to the "wedding."
  • Gun Nut: He loves guns and is very knowledgeable about them.
  • Hairstyle Inertia: A flashback to his childhood in "Exes and Oohs" reveals that he had the same short pointy hairstyle that leads up to his horns since he was a kid.
  • Hammerspace: He apparently has the ability to make anything he wears hold a lot more inside than should be physically possible:
    • While the initial amount of pill-bottles full of antacids and ibuprofen he pulled out could feasibly have fit into the fanny-pack he wore to Loo Loo Land, the bunch of morphine syringes he brings out next is bigger overall than the bag even without the aforementioned bottles.
    • He carries his Walking Armory of weapons inside his coat, pulling them out one after the other despite how the combined size and weight for all of them once present is bigger than his entire body.
  • Happily Married: Moxxie is happily married to Millie, and pretty much worships the ground his wife walks on. They are the only two members of I.M.P who get along swimmingly, and have a stable home life outside of their jobs.
  • Harmful to Minors: When he was a child, his mother taught him to fire a rifle, but took it away from him when his father tried to make him shoot a person. After she died, his father forced him to sink a person into a lake with a block of cement, clearly sympathizing with the victim and trying to spare them to no avail.
  • Has a Type: The ultra-violent. He's married to Millie, and finds Loopty Goopty's desire for bloody revenge on Lyle "kinda hot".
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: While the two of them may constantly bicker, it's clear that Moxxie deeply values his friendship with Blitzo. This is something that becomes more apparent in later episodes, as earlier ones often showcase Blitzo acting condescending towards Moxxie and treating him like an underling while insulting him for fun. "Exes and Oohs" reveals that Blitzo was the reason why he was able to escape his abusive father Crimson and build a new life for himself in Imp City in the first place. In "Mastermind", Moxxie is left practically begging for Blitzo to be spared after he offers himself up to be executed by Satan to protect his employee and he's left weeping into Millie's arms with his face turned away from the scene in horror the moment Blitzo is laid down to be beheaded. Not to mention that Moxxie is the first to reach out to Blitzo in relief after Stolas appears to save him. In "Sinsmas", Blitzo and Moxxie are shown enjoying each other's company much more openly, even coming to an agreement together not to kill a target who had a family. "Mission: Whacked Off" even sees Millie bring Moxxie a leach she states to have been caught specifically for him by Blitzo.
  • Hitman with a Heart:
    • Deconstructed. He may be a hired killer, but he's one who wants to limit the amount of people they kill at a time and would rather only kill the genuinely guilty initially. While this may make him more morally upstanding than his coworkers, it leaves him less efficient, and his initially only looking at the surface level of the target made him a hindrance. "Murder Family" in particular highlights this, as he interferes with Blitzo's shot at Martha due to thinking they were a (seemingly) wholesome family who did something wrong, only for the family to reveal themselves as gun-totting satanic cannibals that capture Moxxie and nearly kill Blitzo and Millie thanks to his actions, something Loona and Millie pointed out earlier in the episode.
Moxxie: (Referring to a photo of a family acting as hypothetical targets) But to eradicate an entire innocent—seemingly, in this instance—upper middle class family bloodline?
Loona: Hey! You don't know they're innocent! (points to the boy) This kid probably sets dogs on fire, (points to the girl) maybe this girl gets off to bullying Australian kids online, *points to the father* and this guy… This guy definitely watches.
Millie: Exactly! Humans are full of secret nasties. It's why so many of them end up here. Guilty and innocent aren't our business, Mox. Killin' who we're paid to is our business.
    • He does finally get to play this trope successfully in "Sinsmas", where he once again advises against killing a target, another wholesome family member. Due to no dark twist revealing from said family this time, and the huge amount of Character Development Blitzo has underwent since the previous instance, Moxxie reaches through and the hit is called off.
  • Hypocrite:
    • Confronts Millie in "Unhappy Campers" for spending an entire week spending time with the human campers instead of helping him find their target, calling her self-centered for it, when Moxxie was just as, if not more, self-centered than Millie was and wanted to get the attention of the human campers as well. Millie rightfully calls him out on this.
    • Despite frequently chiding the other I.M.P. members for being too cutthroat and unprofessional, Moxxie's own self-restraint will also be thrown out the window when frustrated or competitive enough. He hates C.H.E.R.U.B. as much as the others that he thinks nothing of the mass collateral damage they cause to one up them in their face-offs, while in "Unhappy Campers" he is left so humiliated and infuriated from his mission that when he finally tracks the target he forgoes a quick clean kill in favour of unleashing an Extreme Melee Revenge on them, violently resisting Barbie and even Blitzo's attempts to stop him.
  • I Am Not Weasel: In "Spring Broken", a girl calls Moxxie a possum. Later on in the episode, a drunken Moxxie says "A human called me a possum... I am not a possum!"
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: He can calculate a shot, in mid-fall, to cut the string of a sandbag and have it land on someone wrestling with his wife without touching a hair on Millie's head. With the same amount of effort someone might put into shooting a tin can.
  • Informed Deformity: Loona occasionally insinuates in intentionally insulting ways that he's slightly overweight, even though he has no more fat on him than Blitzo or Millie. Granted, this is coming from Loona, who even at her nicest singles him out as her main abuse and insult target, so she's likely just doing it to be a Jerkass.
  • Informed Flaw: Moxxie is called spineless multiple times, but he calls Blitzo and Loona on their faults rather forcefully. Of course, they could be referring to his comparatively strait-laced attitude towards their profession and constant (justified) complaining. It's later shown in "Murder Family" that Blitzo and Loona are both disapproving of his hesitation when it comes to killing people who he doesn't think deserves to be killed. The inconsistent spinelessness is somewhat handwaved in "Truth Seekers" when Blitzo asserts that Moxxie cares too much about what everyone thinks except for Blitzo himself.
  • In Love with Your Carnage:
    • As shown by his serenade song towards Millie, and elaborated on in later episodes, Moxxie gets really turned on when seeing his wife being psychotically murderous.
    • It's not just for Millie, though; when Loopty shows off his high-tech arsenal while declaring his intention to torture Lyle, Moxxie declares the idea "kinda hot."
    • When he and Millie are swinging through the opera-gone-wrong battling C.H.E.R.U.B, the duo get so into all the chaos and mayhem caused by their fighting, they start making out with each other. In fact, based on the bra and bowtie that go flying off shortly after, all the carnage happening arouses them so much they decided to go even further.
  • In-Series Nickname: Various characters (Millie, Blitzo, Crimson, Chaz) have called him "Mox".
  • In Vino Veritas: As shown by his bout of Intoxication Ensues in "Spring Broken", when Moxxie gets shit-faced drunk, he loses all seriousness and aggression, turning into a giggly and incredibly friendly guy who is very nonchalant towards any kind of craziness, even more blatant about his love for Millie, and drops his deliberate avoidance of cursing to become a Sir Swears-a-Lot.
  • Iron Butt-Monkey: Being a Butt-Monkey for the story means the imps' Super-Toughness is put on full display for him, as he repeatedly ends up injured at varying levels of intensity, from concussions to being crushed, but the demon-issue durability means that shortly afterwards he'll be fine, though occasionally incredibly angry, or at least annoyed, that it happened at all.
  • Ironic Name: "Moxie" is a term used to describe someone with a strong force of character, who has nerve and determination. Moxxie doesn't quite live up to those parameters. That being said, he is one hell of an Iron Butt-Monkey who, despite being possibly the physically weakest member of I.M.P, managed to survive the Wrath Ring's Harvest Moon Pain Games relatively intact, which is practically an achievement unto itself.
  • Irony: The pilot heavily portrays Moxxie as the serious, responsible one to Blitzo's nonsensical, incompetent approach. "Murder Family" shows Blitzo taking the job much more seriously than Moxxie and the latter causing more damage and trouble than the former. This is subverted much later in the series, however, but occasionally it's brought up.
  • It's All About Me: Briefly suffers from this in "Unhappy Campers", where he wants the attention Millie got from human campers and sings a song called "Everyone look at Me" while disguised as "Moxxine", where he talks about himself and how he is better than every other human camper. He fortunately grew out of this when Millie calls him out.
  • The Klutz: Downplayed. He trips over the grimoire while jumping through a portal, gets knocked back by a shotgun blast, accidentally shot a child, and accidentally sets the office on fire by misfiring a crossbow, causing it to knock over a tank of electric eels. Granted, that last one was caused by him getting startled by Blitzo, so it's not entirely his fault.
  • Lame Comeback: He absolutely sucks at making up comeback insults, with Loona saying "sit on a dick" having him start replying with No, You before telling her to do her job, and Blitzo slinging a string of insults about his intelligence getting retorted with an insult at Blitzo's art skills. The fact that Blitzo takes the insult very personally does not change the fact that it was lame.
  • Large Ham: When he really gets worked up, he tends to lose any semblance of subtlety. He's played by Richard Horvitz, so this is not a surprise.
  • Last Het Romance: Inverted. His first known relationship was with the male Chaz, but he's currently married to Millie.
  • Like Parent, Like Spouse: "Exes and Oohs" reveals Millie closely resembles Moxxie's late mother, who loved and valued him in stark contrast to his father.
  • Love at First Sight:
    • When Moxxie recollects his past romance with Chaz, he reveals he was enamored with the latter the moment they saw each other.
    • Moxxie was also visibly enamored with Millie as soon as they met, as shown in "Ghostf**kers".
  • Loves the Sound of Screaming: According to his song for Millie, he loves to hear her victims screaming.
  • Mafia Princess: A rare gender-inverted example, but it is revealed in the episode "Exes and Oohs" that Moxxie is the only son of a prominent Mafia boss in the ring of Greed. Downplayed in that said mob boss is an Abusive Parent of the highest order as opposed to a doting or even loving one.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: His rather submissive personality and weaker physical prowess, combined with having a few normally feminine hobbies, puts him in direct contrast to the bombastic aggressiveness and strength of his wife Millie. As a result, Blitzo regularly maintains the belief that Millie "pegs" him, (which Moxxie later confirms in "Truth Seekers" as something they occasionally do), and others that know him for long enough start thinking that she most likely wears the pants in their relationship.
  • The Medic: Implied to be one of his roles, based on Millie calling I.M.P dispatch to send Moxxie her way when she's stabbed and the fact that he carries basic medicines and tons of morphine with him on the job.
  • Morality Chain: To his wife Millie. While Millie is already a Nice Girl, a flashback during "Ghost Fuckers" shows that she used to be a lot more cynical before meeting Blitzo, and it's safe to say that meeting and marrying Moxxie turned her into a kinder and more sensible imp. Moxxie's role as this shines through during "Sinsmas" where Millie went through a brief Evil Cannot Comprehend Good moment, and it isn't until she saw her husband's dejected and disappointed frowning expression when she's about to explode at him is when she snaps out of her anger and remorsefully apologize for the way she was acting.
  • Motor Mouth: You wouldn't think it, due to his straight-laced personality, but "Truth Seekers" shows that he can spit out one hell of an Overcomplicated Menu Order off the top of his head. Being someone voiced by Richard Steven Horvitz, this is to be expected.
  • Mr. Vice Guy: He has his flaws, such as being passive-aggressive, prideful and somewhat judgmental. Other than that, he's pretty grounded and good-hearted most of the time, which stems from him being the Token Good Teammate.
  • Multi-Ranged Master: Unlike Blitzo, who only has his Flintlock pistol for close-range and a sniper rifle for long-range, Moxxie utilizes a wide variety of ranged weaponry for assassinations, including pistols, shotguns, rifles, tommy guns, crossbows, regular bows, etc. If it can kill from a distance, even if that distance is point-blank without being melee-based, Moxxie knows how to use it and has used it.
  • My God, What Have I Done?:
    • When he accidentally shoots a child who wasn't the target, he's clearly horrified. But when it turns out Eddie was the target after all, he doesn't hesitate to join his boss and wife in venting their frustrations on his carcass after the boy gets shot dead.
    • He has another case of being horrified by his actions in the first episode: he genuinely was against killing the entire family of his target, only wanting to kill his target and have the remaining family arrested. When the cops that show up decide to blow up the family's house in an effort to kill them without even bothering to put them on trial, Moxxie ends up horrified and spends the remainder of the episode staring off in the distance with a look of shock and horror.
    • In the flashbacks to his childhood in "Exes and Oohs," a young Moxxie picks up on what his father wants him to do with the boat passenger, and starts crying when hearing them plead for their life. After he drowns the imp, he looks into the water with clear regret.
    • In "Unhappy Campers" after Millie calls him out for not supporting her throughout the whole episode, Moxxie immediately realize the error of his behavior and genuinely wants to make up for it.
  • The Napoleon: Noticeably shorter than Blitzo, and noticeably angrier. Although given the antics he has to put up with, it's hard to blame him. He's also frequently called "little man" by characters deliberately trying to wind him up, although this usually makes him sad and self-conscious rather than angry.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero!: At the end of "Murder Family", he decides that, rather than killing Martha's husband and children, he'll call the cops on them, so they'll have a chance to change for the better. Unfortunately, their house gets blown up by a helicopter, seemingly killing them. Had he simply left, this wouldn't have happened.
  • Noble Demon: He is a deadly hellborn assassin who operates with a code of honor, perhaps the only character in the series to do so.
  • No-Respect Guy: Of all the workers at I.M.P, he puts up with the most abuse from both Blitzo and Loona, despite being, or likely because he's the only employee who takes his job seriously.
  • Not So Above It All: Under normal circumstances he tries his best to act as the Only Sane Man of the group and keep the "professional" in Professional Killer, but there are plenty of times that show how he can be just as Ax-Crazy as the others, mainly when he gets emotionally worked up both negatively and positively, best demonstrated by the aftermath of a lumberjack slaughter in the opening of "OZZIE'S", where he's acting just as energetically bloodquenched as Millie and Blitzo, or "C.H.E.R.U.B" where he's just as smug about outdoing the cherubin, and totally indifferent to the mass collateral damage of innocent people they gunned down to achieve that. "Seeing Stars" demonstrates that his usual straight-laced business mind tends to falter when confronted with mortal realm glitz and glamor—to the point that it stops his and Millie's efforts to locate Octavia in their tracks when he gets distracted over every single street vendor and souvenir stand that crosses his path. "The Full Moon" also shows him as arrogant as his teammates in action when he seemingly has the upper hand, with his inability to resist gloating or making swanky one-liners at C.H.E.R.U.B earning him as many knocks as Millie and Loona. Also, even though he's the Token Good Teammate, he absolutely cannot stand Collin's All-Loving Hero attitude, and belittles him just as much as the rest of I.M.P. for prying into their work.
  • Oh, Crap!: Pretty prone to this when things go haywire for him, but one particularly gut-wrenching example was when he slowly realized just who the helicopter was taking him and I.M.P to...
  • Only Sane by Comparison: Among the demons in I.M.P, he seems the most on-track regarding their actual work, trying to keep everybody else in line and get jobs done right. It's implied he has heart problems due to the constant insanity around him. He's not without issues and neurosis, however. His main issue is inability to assert himself; lacking the force of personality and self-confidence of Blitzo and Millie, and the intimidation and apathy of Loona, Moxxie is consistently outclassed by the willpower around him. He also has an extremely fragile sense of self-esteem and ego due to years under Crimson, leading him to seek validation and desire to prove himself, but gets so bogged down in his own head that he requires Blitzo or Millie to keep him in check.
  • Out of Focus: Suffers from this in Season 2 where he's absent in a couple of episodes due to the focus on Blitzo and Stolas.
  • Pale Females, Dark Males: Inverted with his wife. Millie is a slightly but noticeably darker shade of red than him.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: As "Murder Family" shows, this is what he would prefer to do when it comes to their targets, despite they're working for demons of Hell. As such, he struggles to complete the job in the episode because the mother and her family seem so wholesome and not follow this trope. It's only after they're revealed to be cannibalistic Satanists that he has no qualms killing Martha, and even then he ends up calling the police with the intent on giving the rest of the family a fair trial.
  • Precision F-Strike: He's normally the one demon least likely to swear, but sometimes he can't contain himself:
    • His professional demeanor goes right out the window when he discovers Blitzo spying on him through the window while he serenades his wife.
Moxxie: Are you fucking filming us right now?!
    • Just before they go to do their job in "Murder Family", he lets out a single "fuck" in anticipation of how badly things are probably going to go for him.
    • When he's about to get flying elbow-smashed by a shark in the Pain Games of "The Harvest Moon Festival", he only has this to react with:
      Moxxie: MOTHERFUCK-!
    • During his Disney Acid Sequence musical number in "Truth Seekers", he takes advantage of being dosed with a truth gas to lay into his boss, Blitzo:
Moxxie: (singing)"Not trying to divulge too much, but I'm in too deep/ So, first of all FUCK YOU!"
    • When Blitzo crashes the van and ruins I.M.P.'s chances of escaping in "Mastermind":
Moxxie: I fucking hate you so much, Blitz.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner: Tries to get one in on Keenie in "The Full Moon", but doesn't get a chance to pull the trigger.
  • Prone to Tears: Although an assassin, he is shown to cry in a lot of episodes. He gets teary or emotional at the drop of a hat and it’s not always played for laughs. (especially in Exes and Oohs)
  • Punny Name: According to a Freeze-Frame Bonus in "Exes and Oohs", Moxxie's last name is "Knolastname" (as in "no last name").
  • Queer Establishing Moment: At first, Moxxie's bisexuality was hinted at in what seems like throwaway jokes, like him wanting to have sex with Michael Crawford, only really being confirmed through a comment from an official source. Enter "Exes and Oohs" and we learn that Moxxie dated Chaz, a male shark demon, and he explicitly clarifies to his father that he's bisexual and not gay.
  • Rage Breaking Point: While generally more pragmatic than the other I.M.P. members, after finally finding his target in "Unhappy Campers" after a week of humiliation searching for him, he makes no bones that he's taking his frustrations out on this one, up to beating him, cutting and strangling him as he begs for mercy, even attacking Barbie Wire for trying to stop him.
  • Real Men Cook: Skilled in the culinary field.
  • Retcon: In a Season 1 flashback, he tells Blitzo (who is watching him and Millie sleep) that he was dreaming of his parents being murdered and that he'd like to get back to it, suggesting he hates them. As of Season 2, it's revealed that he only hates his dad, as his mom was loving and caring to him before her presumed death.
  • Rude Hero, Nice Sidekick: “Protagonist” would be the better word, but compared to his abrasive and obnoxious boss that he serves as second-in-command to, Blitzo, Moxxie is much more polite, understanding, and has higher moral priorities when it comes to the targets he’s assigned to kill.
  • Serenade Your Lover: Moxxie's "Oh Millie" song is a romantic love song for his wife, Millie. The end credits of the pilot show he apparently made the song for her before they married.
  • Sexual Karma: He has the strongest morals among the demons, while his wife is at worst a Punch-Clock Villain who can get along with people who aren't threatening them, and both of them have the happiest relationship and most loving sex life amidst the whole cast.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: Heavily hinted, and a rare instance of fiction set in organized crime rather than a military context. In Season 1, Moxxie dreams about the murder of his parents in the pilot episode, struggles to breathe for no apparent reason after preventing Blitzo from killing Martha in front of her children in Episode 1, and becomes unnerved by the Loo Loo Land Park, panicking inexplicably in front of the mascot in Episode 2. If you only watched Season 1, these moments may seem like a dark humor joke, a minor detail, and another dark joke, respectively. However, Season 2, Episode 3 reveals that Moxxie's father is a mafia boss who conceals part of his criminal activities, including torture and murder, in an abandoned Loo Loo Land park and is abusive toward Moxxie. He also killed Moxxie's mother, took Moxxie to the lake where he disposed of her body, and forced Moxxie to participate in an assassination at the very same location. Therefore, in the pilot and Episodes 1 and 2, Moxxie was very likely experiencing manifestations of PTSD.
  • Sickeningly Sweethearts: Whenever they're together, Blitzo usually comments how some of their affectionate acts are "too wholesome" for him. They even get a line lampshading this by Asmodeus, the embodiment of lust himself.
Asmodeus: Aww, ain't that just such a happy display? It sickens me! GET THE FUCK OUT!
  • A Sinister Clue: He's a remorseless assassin who holds a knife, a gun, and a guitar left-handed.
  • Sissy Shaming: Moxxie isn’t overtly feminine per se, but he’s still the Feminine Boy to his wife Millie’s Masculine Girl; He has a rather polite and gentle demeanor outside of his job as a Professional Killer, is the least physically strong out of all members at I.M.P., has a big interest in musical theatre and enjoys Millie ”pegging” him every so often. His lack of ”manly” attributes is shown to be one major reason why Millie’s family dislike him immensely, as it clashes with the Wrath Ring’s Testosterone Poisoning culture, and his homophobic Abusive Dad Crimson is also shown to hold his son in contempt both over this and his bisexuality, as he derided Moxxie’s relationship with his ex-boyfriend Chaz as a ”sissy lifestyle”.
  • Straight Gay:
    • He's a bisexual man, but he doesn't display any form of stereotypes for the sexuality, never stooping to the Depraved Bisexual attitudes of Blitzo, nor does he express any sort of Extreme Omnisexual mentality.
    • Even the sexuality itself is quite downplayed, as while his love and lust towards Millie is quite blatant, his interest in men is subdued and only rarely mentioned, such as admitting to Millie saying he'd want to fuck Michael Crawford if he had the chance, politely turning down sex offers from guys solely due to being married, and noting how the male Loopty torturing the also-male Lyle would be "kind of hot". Subverted, as his bisexuality gets a lot more explicit in Season 2, where it's revealed he was in a relationship with Chaz, a male demon; openly states his sexuality to his queerphobic father; and finds Striker choking him to be arousing.
  • Suddenly Shouting: Courtesy of being voiced by Richard Horvitz, Moxxie has a tendency of suddenly shouting especially when pushed to the limit by his co-workers' unprofessional antics.
  • Supreme Chef: One of the episode flashbacks shows Moxxie cooking. His Instagram has several pictures of the latest dish he's made, and they all are expertly presented.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Millie is the only one he actually enjoys being around; Blitzo's incompetence and lack of boundaries and Loona's Jerkass behaviour and laziness greatly annoy him.
  • Team Mom: Though more in a "frustrated with bratty kids" vein, Moxxie is easily the most mature and sensitive of the I.M.P employees. In "Loo Loo Land", when Octavia says she's "literally" going to be sick, Moxxie immediately reaches into his fanny pack and offers her medicine to help (including morphine he promptly dumps in a baby carriage when she refuses it). On Instagram, he's shown to constantly be chiding Blitzo about his dietary habits, especially how much coffee he drinks.
  • Teeny Weenie: Blitzo insinuates this numerous times over the first season, although stops for whatever reason in the second. It's unknown if he's actually really small down there, or if Blitzo just wanted to insult his pride — although Chaz's nude drawing of him features a minuscule censor bar where his bits and bobs should be, so go figure.
  • Tempting Fate: Really, Moxxie should have known better than to sing a love song in a club owned by the lust enjoying Asmodeus, Moxxie was practically begging him to get involved and overtake his presence.
  • Token Good Teammate: Moxxie is the only one out of the cast who has qualms about killing an "innocent" family. He would rather only kill those who deserve it, instead of just killing whoever the client wants to be killed. Downplayed in that he is still a hitman who takes pride and enjoyment in this work, and on a few occasions his temper and bloodlust are stifled enough, he will become just as feckless and unfettered as Blitzo and Millie, as seen in cases like "CHERUB". This becomes subverted by the events of "Operation: Orphan Time", not because of anything Moxxie did, but rather because of Loona showing herself to actually have more morals than him when it comes to the target of the episode.
  • Too Kinky to Torture: When Striker chokes him in "Western Energy", he responds with an aroused "Harder". This could just be him purposefully throwing Striker off, but given Moxxie's attraction to violence, it could be legit.
  • Tragic Villain: The entire reason he grew up to pursue a life of crime and murder-for-hire is because of his father grooming him to become accustomed to horrific acts like murder when he was a child and raising him in an abusive cesspit where he was heavily implied to have killed his genuinely loving mother who was the only source of nurturing affection in his life when she tried to stop him from leading their child down the path of bloodshed and violence.
  • Twink: Barbie Wire calls him one in Unhappy Campers due to his dainty figure and cross-dressing.
  • Unholy Matrimony: While he initially has a few difficulties willing himself to kill innocent folk, he eventually comes around to Blitzo and Millie's advice about not letting that get in the way of his job, and regardless of personal morality he never had any actual compunctions about killing people in the first place. He's also in a lovingly stable relationship with Millie.
  • Uptight Loves Wild: The straight-laced and Only Sane Man Moxxie is Happily Married to the Cute and Psycho Millie.
  • Villain Has a Point: Moxxie makes valid points throughout the pilot in regards to Blitzo's poor managerial skills along with his inappropriate stalking and Loona's unprofessional attitude.
  • Walking Armory: As I.M.P's resident weapons expert, it makes sense that Moxxie carries a lot of killing tools at his disposal. "C.H.E.R.U.B" shows that the weapons he carries includes (but isn't limited to) assault weapons, a crossbow, a hunting bow, a tommy gun, an old fashion shotgun, revolvers (in three colors), chainsaws, and katanas.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Compared to his counterparts, Moxxie is not much of a brawler or a physical powerhouse. But, he's an excellent marksman and proficient in a variety of weapons. "The Harvest Moon Festival" deconstructs this by showing that when he is caught in a fight without his weapons, he gets defeated rather quickly without outside help.
  • Western Zodiac: If his troll answer to Agent Two is true, he's apparently a "Virgo", which actually fits rather well with his personality. Explanation (It's also probably a virgin joke.)
  • What the Hell, Hero?:
    • Moxxie calls Millie's parents out for giving her a hard time for getting hurt by Striker, who they hired. Millie's father actually seems to acknowledge it.
    • Also delivers one to Blitzo for treating people horribly then being surprised when they inevitably get sick of it and leave.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: He is heavily unnerved by theme parks, seeing them as somewhat disturbing, and is outright terrified by mascots, to the point of threatening one. Going by him calling the first one he sees (Loo Loo, the mascot of Loo Loo Land) a "pervert" shortly after his terrified screaming, it's strongly implied he had a bad experience with them in the past.
  • Wicked Cultured: An assassin with a talent and love for music and cooking, and "Truth Seekers" implies that he's a fan of Cats. Blitzo's drug trip emphasizes this by giving Moxxie the voice and mannerisms of an English dandy and even putting him in an elegant ball gown at one point. It's also somewhat presented in a tragic light, as it reveals Blitzo's insecurities regarding his own conduct and intelligence, which is part of the reason why he seems to pick on Moxxie so frequently.
  • Would Not Hurt A Child: Has some serious reservations about killing innocent children, as he's horrified when he accidentally shoots one in the pilot (though he changes his mind when the child is both the correct target and an asshole). Despite the family from "Murder Family" being monstrous cannibals, he still makes an effort to spare the father and kids, and he's horrified when the police end up blowing everyone up anyways.
  • Would Rather Suffer: During a Flashback in the pilot, he wakes up to find Blitzo staring at him. He then states that he just had a nightmare about his parents being murdered, and admits that he would prefer to go back to that.
  • Wrong Line of Work: He appears to be the least likely person to be an assassin. Despite considering himself a Hitman with a Heart, his strong moral compass often prevents him from killing targets. He lacks physical strength without his firearms, frequently argues with his boss over professionalism, behaves more like an actor who appreciates the arts, and regularly complains about the company's condition, requiring his wife to calm him down. This raises questions about why he remains an assassin. "Exes and Oohs" explains that he didn't choose this life but was born into it as a Mafia Prince. His loving mother tried to steer him away from a mobster's life, but his Abusive Dad forced him into it until he was abandoned to the police. In prison, he met Blitzo, who helped him escape and became a father figure to him. The life of a mobster is all he knows, and his desire to impress Blitzo keeps him in the assassin role, despite it not being who he truly is.
  • Youthful Freckles: He's a heavily downplayed case. He has some splotches of freckles on each cheek, and while he's a near-inversion of most qualities, being the Only Sane Man instead of expressing naïve innocence, he does possess a notable case of idealism about the potential good in humanity that the other members lack.

"Guilty and innocent aren't our business, Mox. Killing who we're paid to is. Our. Business."

Voiced by: Erica Lindbeck (original pilot), Vivian Nixon ("Mission: Zero" official pilot and series) (English) Foreign VAs

"Not exactly a shortage of imp assassins in Wrath. Reputation is everything."

The bruiser of Immediate Murder Professionals, Blitzo's Best Friend in the company, and Moxxie's wife. While outwardly sweet and calm, she has a rather violent side to her that comes out at work.
  • Accent Adaptation: While not very exaggerated like similar cases, the Geecko Productions' Latin American Spanish dub has her speaking with an audible Northener (Norteño) accent, in order to replicate the Southern accent from her family. On the other hand, the official one has her speak with a Mexico City one instead, though she switches to the Norteño accent when talking with her parents, and more often starting season 2.
  • A-Cup Angst: One of the things she insults Keenie for, along with her hypocritical nature and her judgmental attitude towards imps, is "tit-having". Despite the fact that her chest is relatively noticeable, she's apparently flat enough to pass off as a teenage boy during "Unhappy Campers" (Though to be fair, she was wearing a oversized shirt at the time).
  • Affably Evil: An incredibly violent, unrepentant assassin; but provided you don't meet her "on the job" or threaten her husband Millie will be nothing but sweet and friendly with you.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Various characters she is close to (Blitzo, Sallie May, Moxxie) have occasionally called her "Mills".
  • Art Evolution: In the pilot, Millie's skin is a brighter shade of red similar to Moxxie's, and she has a white patch on her hair. In the series proper, her skin is darker than the rest of I.M.P and her hair is fully black.
  • Attractive Bent-Gender: When in disguise in "Unhappy Campers" as "Millerd Realboy", she inadvertently attracts the rabid infatuation of all of the pre-teen female campers—and apparently, even some of the male ones.
  • Ax-Crazy: Millie considers murder and mutilation to be fun pastimes, and she takes great pride in her deadly skills, even clarifying a kill-count from a past experience as a lesser but still notably high number. It's half the reason she works for Blitzo, the other half being it giving her plenty of chances to work alongside her husband Moxxie to slaughter people. Her murdering skills and how much fun she has doing it is explicitly one of the things Moxxie finds attractive about her.
  • Back-to-Back Badasses: With Moxxie during the "Oh Millie" song, as they are shown shooting guns together while back-to-back.
  • Badass Adorable: In both looks and personality, she's the cutest, cuddliest, and overall friendliest member of the main cast, with the only secondary characters rivalling her in cuteness being the cherubs. Her status as both a Dark Action Girl and The Brute also makes her among the most badass, able to utilize various melee weapons to slaughter targets with greater ease than everybody except Stolas, and oftentimes she's still capable of looking cute during her slaughters.
  • Bad with the Bone: As seen in "Exes and Oohs", she is capable of tearing bones and weaponizing them out of the enemies she kills. Less of a special skill of hers, and more that she was just so ripshit pissed when she did that tearing out someone's spine and garroting someone else with it was the best way to express it.
  • Barbaric Battleaxe: As shown in "Truth Seekers" and "Western Energy", Millie likes to use a double-headed axe that's taller than herself, which she wields with extreme proficiency, spinning it fast enough to act like a blender or skillfully enough to even to block bullets at short range.
  • Bare Midriffs Are Feminine: Downplayed. Millie's attire consists of a cold-shoulder crop top, though it only exposes the bottom of her stomach.
  • Battle Couple: An Unholy Matrimony variant with Moxxie, her husband. They're co-workers and assassins for hire.
  • The Berserker: Millie tends to go absolutely feral when fighting, and when Moxxie's in danger she absolutely explodes. Simply put, you don't make Millie mad if you value breathing, and don't hurt Moxxie if you don't want to make her mad; apparently nine other Wrath Ring imps learned of her anger before she was banned from the Pain Games, Striker gets a bunch of stab wound-shaped lessons from her for hurting Moxxie and D.H.O.R.K.S. learned the same harsh, bloody lesson when they captured Moxxie. And Crimson's shark goons got a double dose of this same lesson when Millie literally tore them apart with her bare hands.
  • Berserk Button: Given how much her job at I.M.P. empowers her and turned her life around (and how normal killing and violence is in her community anyway), she is proven to be the most aggressively defensive I.M.P. member towards others disapproving of them for being assassins. This becomes a two-way case in "C.H.E.R.U.B." where her and Keenie butting into each other's work and berating their lack of ethics very quickly devolves into a mutually venomous Cat Fight. She is generally more sympathetic around Moxxie's more polite moral qualms, though when he actually successfully gets a more unscrupulous hit called off in "Sinsmas", Millie nearly explodes at him (she caught herself when she realized how uncomfortable he'd become).
  • Best Friend: She is Blitzo's closest friend in I.M.P. and the one who gets along with him the most even with his abrasive behavior. While their dynamic was implied in Season 1 and early episodes of Season 2 by how she's Blitzo's most loyal employee, "Ghostf**kers" confirms it, as the episode explores just how powerful and meaningful their relationship is.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: While one of the more friendly assassins, she's also one of the more ruthless ones and will not hesitate to showcase how dangerous she can be.
  • Blade Enthusiast:
    • She may be a Multi-Melee Master, but her specific weapon of choice is wielding a decent variety of knives. Her enthusiasm is to the point where her side of the bed in her and Moxxie's bedroom is littered with knives.
    • Millie has also shown a certain fondness for axes, wielding a spiked axe when meeting Loopty Goopty in "C.H.E.R.U.B" and, more notoriously, a double headed greataxe in "Truth Seekers", which is twice her height, that she uses to chop through D.H.O.R.K's forces.
  • Boyish Short Hair: She keeps her hair in a messy bob cut, which probably makes it easier for when she does her assassin job.
  • Bruiser with a Soft Center: As brutal as Millie can be, she's also a rather Nice Girl to be around with. She loves stuffed animals, Loo Loo Land and openly cries when she's upset over her husband's disappearance in "Truth Seekers". And, she adores the songs Moxxie makes for her.
  • The Brute: Millie is the main physical muscle for her assassin organization. She's so good at what she does that, when her husband was nearly married off to a member of the mafia, Millie took out pretty much the entire mob by herself.
  • Character Blog: She has an Instagram account called beautymarkbabe666.
  • Characterization Marches On:
    • She has one of the most subtle changes between the pilot and series among the main cast, which in her case is getting character interactions and receiving Hidden Depths that show her having an existence outside of being Moxxie's wife.
    • Additionally, due to the higher Comedic Sociopathy in Season One, she tended to let a lot more abuse towards Moxxie slip by, something that would be unthinkable in later episodes (she flat out ignores him suffocating under rubble in "C.H.E.R.U.B.").
    • In later episodes, she has a soft spot for Blitzo and Loona; the first whom she's indebted to because he gave her a place where she belonged, a job, and a husband. Unlike in previous episodes, when she barely did much towards either of them while being with Moxxie.
  • Childish Tooth Gap: Millie has a small but noticeable gap and is a Cute and Psycho woman.
  • Cool Big Sis: It's heavily implied that she's the oldest of her siblings, and at the very least, she's this towards Sallie May.
  • Country Mouse: While working with I.M.P., she eventually had to leave Wrath and settle for life in the Pride Ring in order to be able to work sinners. Played with in that Millie's struggles that come with this mainly have to do with her reluctance to accept such a tall order in terms of who the crew are now aiming to do business with rather than anything to do with their new environment of conducting work in.
  • Covert Pervert: Not only does she apparently have a rather active sex life with her husband, but she also asks Blitzo what sex with Verosika was like. A text between her and Blitzo in "Seeing Stars", shows that she's asked her boss' advice on sex toys for her and Moxxie.
  • Cute and Psycho: She's an absolute sweetie who can often be seen acting adorable, especially when it involves Moxxie. She's also the main muscle in I.M.P when it comes to murdering people. Moxxie himself absolutely adores this mercilessly monstrous aspect of her going by the song he wrote.
  • Cute Bruiser: She’s pint-sized, plucky, hardly seen not smiling, gushes over stuffed animals, gets all mushy with her husband regularly, and can charge head-first into battle tearing apart dozens of people in her wake without so much as breaking a sweat. And that’s not even mentioning the giant fish monster who she’s managed to slash open from the inside or the infestor demon she beat the ever-living shit out of with her own bare hands while he was in the body of her closest friend.
  • Cute Monster Girl: A sexy, cheerful imp from Hell.
  • Cuteness Proximity: She squeals and gushes over the stuffed animal at Loo Loo Land and is thrilled when Moxxie wins it for her.
  • Daddy's Girl: She loves her dad dearly. In "The Harvest Moon Festival", she rushes into her dad's arms and hugs him the second they are reunited. Her dad also loves her dearly as he is happy to see her and calls her his "deadly little pumpkin spice".
  • Dark Action Girl: Awwwwwww! Ain't she just a deadly little pumpkin spice?
  • Dating What Daddy Hates: A bit downplayed since Millie's parents at least tolerate him, but Moxxie's interactions with Millie's parents make it clear they disapprove of him being such a "weakling", by their own standards, since they value brawn over brains and don't consider Moxxie's technical prowess to be as valuable as physical prowess. This later changes, a little, after he stands up for Millie over Striker's deception, pointing out that they were the ones who allowed Striker to work on the farm in the first place. This display earns Moxxie a begrudging nod from Millie's father, though given Millie's reaction, such a gesture is apparently his way of saying Moxxie earned a bit of respect from him.
  • Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu?: Downplayed. She violently interrupts Asmodeus (one of the Seven Deadly Sins)'s Diss Track to Moxxie so he can finish his song. But the terrified look on her face when he angrily tells them to Get Out! implies she knows not to push her luck.
  • Dude Magnet: Her husband Moxxie loves her unconditionally, she's hit on by one of the Loo Loo Land park employees, a club goer tries (and fails) to come onto her, and she's confirmed to have had at least one ex before she settled down with Moxxie. In "Unhappy Campers", she also attracts a lot of campers (male and female) while disguised as "Millerd".
  • Dysfunctional Family: Out of the main characters, Millie does have the best relationship with her family, though she still has a few unresolved issues with them. While her parents love her, they don't exactly approve of her marriage to Moxxie nor are they pleased with her having a freelance job, and at one point they are shown to be quite hypocritical (scolding Millie for her violent tendencies but always defend her sister who is equally as deadly). In the Harvest Moon festival episode, it didn't seem like Millie got along with her sister Sallie May that much, but the Helluva Boss short Hell's Belles show that they actually are very close and do love each other dearly.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Normally, Millie doesn't really have a problem when Blitzo tries to pry into her and Moxxie's love life. But when he tries to do it on their anniversary, she's just as annoyed as her husband is (albeit better at hiding it).
    • She loves Moxxie no matter his faults, but she does have a limit before even his shenanigans get on her nerves. She has to remind him to use his gun against Striker, and when Moxxie gets distracted by dealers during their entire time in LA, she has to kill the last one and order him through the portal home. She also lets Moxxie have it for letting his obsession with doing things his way at her popularity’s expense.
    • On more than one occasion, she will happily let her Hot-Blooded side of her personality get the better of her, which is fitting since she is a Wrathian Imp. However, she won't do it at the expense of hurting her loved ones emotionally. When she saw Moxxie's disappointed and uncomfortable expression when she's about to explode on him, she realized she had let it gone a little too far and apologize for her behavior, especially when he was just trying to cheer her up.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: For a brief moment. During "Sinsmas", the group's hit to kill an ex-husband who has a new partner and family hits too close to home for Blitzo and he calls off a job for the first time ever. While Moxxie and Loona immediately understand why, Millie is confused and indignant, and insists on doing the job herself until Blitzo sharply calls her off. Fortunately this gets subverted after she caught herself when noticing Moxxie's frowning expression when she's about to explode on him, apologizing to her husband and admitting that she doesn't know what's gotten into her and why this angers her so much, and judging by her calmed-expression when going through the portal, it's safe to say she changed her mind after softening up. Furthermore, it could serves as Foreshadowing for her pregnancy, since it is common to experience mood swings.
  • Evil Laugh: Lets out an adorable giggle after decapitating someone in the Pilot episode.
  • Evil Virtues: Just like the other assassins in I.M.P, Millie is more than a pure killing machine.
    • Camaraderie: Naturally she's on good terms with her husband, but Millie generally gets along well with her coworkers, not outright antagonizing Loona (outside of occasional Innocently Insensitive comments towards her, the frequency of which decrease as the show progresses) and often going along with Blitzo's zany ideas or congratulating him, in turn, neither insults her like they do Moxxie, Blitzo even goes as far as complimenting her skills, albeit in his own crude way.
    • Love: Her marriage is nothing less than blissfully harmonious, with Moxxie readily standing up for his wife and Millie offering moral support to cheer her husband up when he's down, or speaking sense to him when he's dragging his feet to get the job done. She also has a loving relationship with her parents Joe and Lin, and it seemingly extends to her siblings as well, even though her relationship with her sister Sally May can be a bit strained at times.
    • Passion: By far the most enthusiastic assassin on the team, smiling broadly as she butchers people, the pilot even has her laughing triumphantly after decapitating a target.
    • Valor: She readily proved her courage by charging a giant fish-monster that had swallowed Moxxie, and then defeating it with nothing but a knife, a Molotov cocktail and pure muscle.
  • Experienced Protagonist: While she's more of an experienced tritagonist, "Ghostf**kers" establishes that Millie has been killing for hire before the events of the series or even before she ended up joining I.M.P., as it shows her working as an independent assassin in a flashback who was specifically stated to have taken out a target originally meant for Blitzo and Moxxie before the former took notice of her talent and potential.
  • Farmer's Daughter: As revealed in "The Harvest Moon Festival", her parents are the owners of the Rough n' Tumbleweed Ranch. And putting aside the fact that she works as an assassin and takes glee from slaughtering humans, she fits this trope to a t: being pretty, charismatic, and treating everyone around her (as long as they aren't targets on her hit list of if they just so happened to cross one of her loved ones) with kindness most of the time.
  • Flipping the Bird: Flips off Loona with both hands after she insults Moxxie in the pilot episode.
    • In the series, Millie does it again in "C.H.E.R.U.B" to Keenie while also calling her a "Prude".
  • Foil: Her Beta Couple with Moxxie is essentially the "win state" for Stolas and Blitzo, both of them having overcome any fundamental insecurities and gone on to a happy relationship.
  • Fury-Fueled Foolishness: Most of the time, Millie's temper is a bigger problem for her opponent (even though ironically she's not the one with the hair-trigger type of temper, that would be Loona). Both of her fights with Keenie however left her in such a rage that she almost got herself killed tussling with her. In the first, the two grapple each other and fall offstage (which is a bigger problem for her as Keenie has wings), requiring Moxxie to swing in and catch her. In the second, after Keenie flies off with Moxxie, Millie pounces her and angrily stabs her jetpack to stop her....only then realising they are high up in the air. Loona has a break their fall.
  • Genki Girl: Generally, Millie is an outgoing, lively and extroverted woman who is mostly seen with a smile on her face.
  • Girls Like Musicians: She is married to a talented musician. While it is not known if she fell in love with Moxxie because of his music, we do see that she is touched by his singing as shown in the Oh Millie music video and his song in the episode OZZIE'S. Of course, it probably helps that she is a good singer herself, and has also shown to be capable of playing a multitude of musical instruments (including a guitar like Moxxie does) in "Unhappy Campers".
  • Girls Love Stuffed Animals: She gets excited about one of the Loo Loo Land stuffed animals at a carnival game.
  • Glass Cannon: She possesses a great amount of speed and agility than Blitzo and Moxxie, whilst having enough physical strength to pry open a giant monster's mouth, with what being The Brute of I.M.P and all. However, she can't really take much damage before being incapacitated, with her being taken out in one hit on two separate occasions. This is, of course, a Depending on the Writer circumstance. In cases such as "Western Energy" and "Ghostf**kers" for example, she manages to shake off a rather intense beating to overcome an opponent. She also comically no-sells as many major injuries as the rest of I.M.P.
  • The Glorious War of Sisterly Rivalry: Initially between her and her sister Sallie May in "The Harvest Moon Festival". Millie gripes to her mother that Sallie May gets to compete in the Pain Games while she has to sit it out, only for Sallie to gloat that she knows how to hide her body count better. Later, Sallie May seems to get a kick out of heckling Millie when she's trying to cheer up Moxxie. However in "Hell's Belles" onwards, it's subverted as it's revealed that she and Sallie are actually very close, though it is somewhat implied that their hinted rivalry was just competitive and teasing spirit.
  • Hammerspace Hair: While fighting Blitzo during their first meeting, she pulls out a knife from her large ponytail.
  • Happily Married: Millie is happily married to Moxxie, with his safety and happiness meaning the world to her. They are the only two members of I.M.P who get along swimmingly and have a stable home life outside of their jobs.
  • Hartman Hips: She has incredibly thick thighs and large, child-bearing hips that are wider than her waistline and bust, and is pregnant by the time of the season 2 finale.
  • Hayseed Name: Her real name is Mildred, an Outdated Name which fits well with her farmland upbringing.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • She's very fond of Loo Loo Land, since her parents would bring her and her siblings there as children, when they could afford to.
    • Despite her overwhelming support for her husband, Millie admits in "Unhappy Campers" that she sometimes feels stuck in his shadow, which is why she was so excited to be warmly welcomed by all the campers.
    • Millie shows in "Unhappy Campers" that she is surprisingly multitalented: Aside from physical prowess like athleticism and sports, she is also a very good musician with several instruments (drums, guitar, and banjo), a talented singer and knows how to perform several classic circus acts, like how to use a torch to blow fire and swallowing a sword whole.
  • Horn Attack: Played for laughs in "Loo Loo Land". When Blitzo announces that I.M.P. is going to Loo Loo Land, Millie is so excited she smashes her horns through the reinforced glass of his office door, shouting, "LOO LOO LAND?!" with giant sparkles in her eyes.
  • Horrifying the Horror: At the end of "Exes and Oohs", Millie's ruthless slaughter of all of his men leaves Crimson, a mob boss who is shown to have killed dozens of other demons, just as horrified as Chaz is.
  • Hot as Hell: She's a Cute Monster Girl with a very feminine look and curvy hips that looks like an archetypal demon.
  • In Love with Your Carnage: While Moxxie's normally subdued personality means Millie doesn't get to express it often, and the main thing she likes about him is how much of a good-hearted guy he is, whenever situations arise that bring out Moxxie's violent side, Millie shows that she's just as attracted to Moxxie being incredibly skilled at killing as he is to her.
  • Innocently Insensitive: She loves Moxxie dearly, but tends to be ignorant to a lot of his pain and frustrations, especially when they originate from Blitzo, who she thinks the world of. Her blissful indifference is also shown to annoy Sallie May as she explains her frustrations being stuck at home, though Millie does talk to her compassionately about it when she realises she is upset.
  • In-Series Nickname: Everyone calls her Millie, but Striker reveals her full name is Mildred.
  • Internalized Categorism: As revealed in "Ghostf**kers", Millie used to have a low opinion of herself, and imps as a whole, due to having grown up with a normalized perspective of Hell's Fantastic Racism, thinking she could never be more than a farm girl or a hired mook. The episode also reveals that Blitzo, with his I-can-be-anything-I-want-to-be attitude, pulled her out of this mindset, and how much it means to her that he was able to make her see herself as better than what society had always told her that she was.
  • Jerkass Realization: During "Sinsmas" after Blitzo calls off a mission because he couldn't bring himself to murder the father of a family, Moxxie tries to comfort Millie when he notices her being annoyed and disappointed, in which she proceeds to berate him for not being "demon enough" to finish the job. However, before it escalates, she quickly realize the way she was acting when she notices her husband's uncomfortable frowning expression, and apologize for her behavior.
  • Leitmotif: During badass scenes with her (such as her fight with the mutated fish in "Spring Broken" or her sections of the fight against the D.H.O.R.K.S in "Truth Seekers"), she's associated with a movement blending punk and (fitting her Farm background) Country Western themes, featuring what sounds like a high-pitched theremin emulating a Spaghetti Western style whistle.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: She's normally really sweet, peppy, and delights in causing carnage, but when a drunk Moxxie almost gets eaten by a giant mutant fish, she drops her bubbly demeanor and completely demolishes the Kaiju with ruthless efficiency.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: She's an extremely tough woman, contrasting her subdued and physical weaker husband Moxxie. The massive gender-role reversal has resulted in everybody that knows them concluding that she's the top in their relationship.
  • Massive Numbered Siblings: Millie has a total of five siblings, though only Sallie May is named.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name could be a pun on the word "melee", as Millie mainly uses close-range weapons for her job. Millie is just a nickname though, as her given name is actually "Mildred", but since that name means "gentle strength", it still fits parts of her character and attributes. The second syllable of "Mildred" also sounds like "dread", fitting for how she's a genuinely terrifying combatant beneath the sweetness.
  • Messy Hair: Her hair (both short and long) is quite messy and voluminous.
  • More Deadly Than the Male: In every single way, she is leagues more dangerous than her husband Moxxie, something that Moxxie outright finds very appealing, even sexy. She's Ax-Crazy, a Pint-Sized Powerhouse skilled with various melee weaponry, and when her husband is threatened becomes a Violently Protective Girlfriend who can take on Kaiju to protect him, to contrast Moxxie being relatively sane and emotionally grounded, Weak, but Skilled while wielding various guns that don't require being strong or tough, and hasn't really gotten the chance to need getting angrily protective about his wife.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She's a cute, pretty, perky woman who's been hit on more than any other character in the series, and very frequently teases her husband. While it's not to Loona's extent, she's also gotten her fair share of Male Gaze shots and outfits that show off her slim but bottom-heavy figure.
  • Multi-Melee Master: As a contrast to her husband Moxxie's skill with guns and such, Millie has shown herself to be incredibly capable at killing using various forms of melee weaponry, whether for stabbing, slashing, or smashing. For the most part she favors herself a knife nut, but she's also used axes, machetes, maces, hammers, and more when the situation has called for them.
  • Murderous Thighs: "Truth Seekers" shows that her thick legs aren't just for show, as she's capable of snapping an adult human's neck with them.
  • Nice Girl: Out of everyone in I.M.P, she is the most laid-back and friendly employee and treats everything in a light-hearted manner.
  • Number of the Beast: Her online username is "beautymarkbabe666".
  • One-Woman Army: Millie's the most deadly and competent member of I.M.P. and tends to rack up an enormous body count whenever subtlety needs to be dropped. In "Exes and Oohs" she slaughters an entire army of mafia goons in under a couple of minutes by herself, only using Blitzo as as an impromptu spear.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: "The Harvest Moon Festival" reveals that her name is short for Mildred.
  • Only Sane Woman: Along with being the most down-to-earth member of I.M.P., Millie is also the most psychologically healthy and balanced, which is quite fitting given how she's the only one who doesn't have a Dark and Troubled Past. This is especially noticeable when you compare her to the cynical and uncooperative Loona with her Hair-Trigger Temper, the Nervous Wreck Moxxie with his family-enduced trauma, and the complete general bundle of issues that is Blitzo.
  • Out of Focus: Despite nominally being the tritagonist of the whole show she's had one real focus episode, as well as one short. Even in Season 2, she's absent in a couple of episodes. She shines the most "Ghostf**kers, however.
  • Pale Females, Dark Males: Inverted with her husband. She's a slightly but noticeably darker shade of red than Moxxie.
  • Parrying Bullets: Millie performs this in "Exes and Oohs" both with an dildo on a stick, and more impressively, with her foot.
  • Persona Non Grata: She apparently caused 9 separate funerals at the last Harvest Moon Festival's Pain Games, and is banned from participating in them as a result. In the Wrath Ring.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: She's about equal with Moxxie in regards to being one of the shortest non-child demons around, but unlike him she packs a pretty impressive amount of strength in that frame, able to utterly slaughter beings bigger and stronger than her, such as the mutant fish Kaiju from "Spring Broken", which she utterly butchers while simultaneously saving her drunk husband from being eaten with barely any real effort, just a little Molotov MacGyvering and Tranquil Fury. In "C.H.E.R.U.B.", she can even lift Blitzo from the back with just one arm. That said, she is somewhat of a Glass Cannon, Depending on the Writer at least.
  • Platonic Life-Partners: With Blitzo. While Blitzo certainly finds Millie attractive and would gladly like to participate in a threesome with her and Moxxie (though he eventually gets over that), he mostly just views her as a very close friend. It's the same way vice-versa, though Millie doesn't show sexual attraction towards Blitzo, and considers him her best friend who gave Millie her dream job and made her life better.
  • Pregnant Badass: Downplayed, In "Sinsmas" it turns out she's pregnant but only by a few weeks at most, so beyond morning sickness her actual fighting prowess isn't really affected.
  • Pretender Diss: In "The Full Moon", when she, Moxxie, and Milie fight C.H.E.R.U.B. to keep them from interfering in Blitzo's night with Stolas, she goes toe-to-toe with Keenie in her Powered Armor meant to mimic her, and shatters the blades on Keenie's forearms, before giving her a little bit of taunting.
Millie: Sorry, hun. You can play as me, but that don't mean you're anywhere close!
  • Protectorate: Even though she's the Violently Protective Girlfriend, Moxxie is still highly protective of Millie. Best shown during "Exes and Oohs" when he confronts his abusive father, Crimson.
Moxxie: I spent my whole life of being afraid of you, but I'm not giving up the only good thing I've ever had just so you can keep your fragile little sense of control over everything. Millie is a good woman, a better woman than I deserve. And there's nothing that scares me more than hurting her, not even you.
  • Psycho Knife Nut: Slightly downplayed. Millie has an affinity for knives and is shown to find violence and murder fun, though just like her husband, she's definitely more Affably Evil and a Punch-Clock Villain.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: While she works for an assassination business, along with finding murder and mutilation to be incredibly fun, she otherwise doesn't have any serious interest in killing people. If she's neither paid to kill nor pissed off, she's quite capable of being friendly to people outside I.M.P, including living humans. That said, unlike her highly moral husband, she still maintains the attitude of a contract killer, pointing out to Moxxie that their job is to kill for money, and any concerns about innocence or guilt are irrelevant to that work.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: You can really tell when she's on the war path when the red of her irises show.
  • Relative Button: Do not hurt Moxxie if you value your life. While being protective when Moxxie is in danger is an understandable thing, she gets murderously violent about any slights directed at her husband, with even lighter stuff such as insulting him making her want to brutally kill the offender simply for hurting Moxxie's feelings. Just watch the expressions she makes whenever someone, usually Loona, throws an insult Moxxie's way in front of her; it's the few times you actually see her expression turn actively hostile towards an I.M.P employee. The glaring exception to this is Blitzo, who, being her Best Friend, she tends to shrug off as just being playful despite being one of the most belligerent and infuriating towards Moxxie early on.
  • Renaissance Woman: "Unhappy Campers" reveals that besides being a skilled assassin, Millie is highly adept at multiple different things: volleyball, parkour, electric guitar, banjo, singing, drums, nunchucks, and circus acts that would make Fizzarolli jealous. This makes Millie the most talented member in I.M.P.
  • Satellite Character: Millie's portrayal in the series often revolves around her relationship with Moxxie. In the pilot, insults target her marital choice, while "The Harvest Moon Festival" focuses on Moxxie's acceptance by her family. "Truth Seekers" and "OZZIE'S" highlight her role in Moxxie's abduction and her defense of his singing ability, respectively. "Seeing Stars" and "Exes and Oohs" emphasize her proximity to Moxxie and her anger towards his ex, Chaz, who also dated her. Millie's past with Chaz remains unexplored, and her hostility stems from Chaz's treatment of Moxxie. "Unhappy Campers" shows Millie feeling overshadowed by Moxxie and Blitzo, rarely feeling distinct, though Moxxie's support remains the focus. "Hell's Belles" finally subverts this trope, shifting the focus to her relationship with her sister Sallie and family, with Moxxie briefly appearing. "Ghostf**kers," the first episode from her perspective, allows Millie to step out of Moxxie's shadow, exploring her relationships, goals, and personality independently, particularly her friendship with Blitzo.
  • Screw You, Elves!: In "C.H.E.R.U.B" Millie is the most vocal about her dislike of angels, frequently calling out their Holier than Thou attitude and Moral Myopia against imps.
  • Sexual Karma: While she's not as strongly moral as her husband Moxxie, who is the Token Good Teammate, she's still a close second in that she doesn't get kicks out of abusing and murdering people like Blitzo and Loona, treating the killing of innocent folk as Nothing Personal while otherwise getting along with most people outside the job. She and Moxxie also have the healthiest and happiest sex life out of everybody.
  • Shipper on Deck: Implied, as she refers to Stolas as Blitzo's boyfriend in "The Harvest Moon Festival", though he himself denies it vehemently.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: In "OZZIE'S", Millie knocks Fizzarolli over the head with a guitar while he and Asmodeus were delivering a musical "The Reason You Suck" Speech to Moxxie, as they believe that intimacy was all about lust, while Moxxie was singing about how much he loves Millie.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: Somewhat ironic since she is a demon from hell, but it is implied that this is one of the aspects that she likes about her husband, since in the first episode she tells him that he has a good heart, he just has a fuzzy head, before affectionately squeezing his cheek. "Sinsmas" however, implies this is Zigzagged somewhat, as while she appreciates Moxxie's good heartedness around her and the team, him managing to overrule one of their hits due to moral ethics actually leaves her incredibly frustrated, since Millie has zero exception to who and what they kill for their job.
  • Southern Belle: A malevolent variant. Millie has a Southern accent and while she's a sweetie, she's also an unrepentant and very gleeful killer. Florida native Vivian Nixon voicing her makes the accent more obvious.
  • Surprise Pregnancy: At the end of "Sinsmas", Millie discovers that she's pregnant. She calls up her sister and breaks down in tears because she has no idea what to do about it.
  • Strong as They Need to Be: She is often the most seasoned and powerful I.M.P. member, especially when angered, effortlessly slaughtering an entire mafia mob, destroying all three C.H.E.R.U.B. members' Powered Armor single handed after they overpowered Moxxie and Loona, and gutting a giant mutated demon fish to name but few examples. Even in tougher fights, she is shown to take a lot of damage while barely even slowing down. With that said, she also holds the dubious honour of being one-shot knocked out by a normal human. Twice. At least some of this can be attributed to Played for Laughs, since Millie isn't nearly as often a Butt-Monkey as Moxxie or even Blitzo, the times she does finally get the brunt of it are more jarring.
  • Tattooed Crook: Millie has a black heart tattoo on her right shoulder. She's also a psychotic murderer.
  • The Tease: As much as she loves him, Millie can't help but tease Moxxie just a little. An example is during the remade pilot "Mission Zero" where she and Blitzo started chanting "Kill all Kids!" in front of Moxxie against his protest of leaving the children out of bloody carnage. However, she seems to have realized that that upset him as she was seen nuzzling him lovingly afterwards, perhaps to cheer him up.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Heavily Downplayed. While Millie is largely shown as a kind-hearted and sensible person, she is also shown to be the most bloodthirsty member of I.M.P. Unlike Moxxie, Blitzo, and even Loona who all struggle with occasional moments of Being Evil Sucks, Millie is shown to be empowered by her job as an assassin. Justified, however, as mentioned above, she's the only member of I.M.P to not come from a very troubled background, instead growing up with a (mostly) loving family who, just like her, finds murder and slaughter fun.
  • Token Minority: Inverted. The show's pride merch confirms that she is the only straight character in the main cast, with everyone else being LGBT.
  • Tomboyish Ponytail: When she had longer hair, she kept it into a large ponytail, still reflecting her overall rugged nature.
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: Being a rough-and-tumble Wrathian assassin, Millie naturally has a knack for closed-combat and weaponry, whilst having a fierce, assertive and tough attitude and a punkish-goth like aesthetic. She's also openly affectionate towards Moxxie and generally loves all the romantic gestures he does, loves stuffed animals and dressing up for formal events, and during the short "Hell's Belles", she's essentially more feminine than her sister, Sallie May, as she suggest the first thing they do is have a spa day and go shopping.
  • Took a Level in Cheerfulness: "Ghostf**kers" showed us that she was much surlier and grumpier before she met Blitzo and Moxxie.
  • Took a Level in Idealism: Downplayed, before joining IMP, Millie was a lot more jaded and believed she, and other imps, were only ever good for being thugs and farmhands, practically only be the servants Satan envisioned them to be. But when IMP set up shop in the Pride Ring, and after a small chat with Blitzo, she got a new outlook that she could be more than that just a thug.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: On a related note, marrying Moxxie made her a much nicer imp.
  • Tranquil Fury: In "Spring Broken", when a giant mutant fish monster almost eats her husband. Millie drops her normally bubbly demeanor and single-handedly slays the monster with ruthless efficiency, then coolly and smugly blackmails Verosika and her entourage into forfeiting the Demon Duel by threatening to expose how they created said monster.
  • Undying Loyalty: She claims in "Ghostf**kers" that Blitzo is her best friend, and nothing is ever going to shake that. His dreams of becoming a self-made imp showed her that she herself could be more than a simple farm girl or a goon for hire. She was convinced that imps can never be anything more than the lowest of the low, and she looks up to Blitzo for proving her wrong. For that, there's nothing Blitzo can do with all his self-destructive habits that will ever cause her to leave.
  • Unholy Matrimony: She's a Punch-Clock Villain who is completely unrepentant about killing people, regardless of innocence, and she's in a lovingly stable relationship with Moxxie.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: In contrast to Moxxie's Weak, but Skilled. Apart from their inversion of the usual Guys Smash, Girls Shoot trope, "The Harvest Moon Festival" shows that Millie tends to get sloppy when she's competitive or enraged. Prime example is when she catches Striker trying to murder her husband, she goes completely berserk trying to maul him with her bare hands and teeth, but Striker is still able to get the upper hand by using his wits to outmaneuver her.
  • Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Unlike her husband, Millie is fairly laid-back whenever Blitzo decides to suddenly intrude on their personal life.
  • Villain Has a Point:
    • Millie stopping Moxxie from continuing his rant to Blitzo because the latter is their boss makes perfect sense. He may be a complete Jerkass but, as their superior, Blitzo can have them fired.
    • She also has a point when trying to help Moxxie get over his nerves regarding killing a (seemingly) innocent family: their primary job is killing whoever their client is paying them to kill. The guilt or innocence of their targets really isn't their concern.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: One of the most surefire ways of making her genuinely, violently angry is seeing anybody either insult or threaten her husband Moxxie. When it comes to insults, like people calling him a spineless wimp or saying he has a Teeny Weenie, she speaks louder while swearing and flipping off the offender. For threats, she switches from bubbly niceness to Tranquil Fury as she methodically butchers whoever harmed him. When Moxxie nearly gets eaten alive by a giant mutant fish in "Spring Broken", she wastes no time in brutally slaughtering the creature. In "The Harvest Moon Festival", we see her eyes go bloodshot berserk when she catches a hired hand trying to kill Moxxie and she repeatedly stabs him in the back and tries to slice his throat. And let's not forget the Roaring Rampage of Rescue she and Loona go on in "Truth Seekers" when Blitzo and Moxxie are captured by D.H.O.R.K.S. Compare or contrast her later rampage in "Exes and Oohs" where she takes on a mob boss's army of henchmen almost entirely on her own to prevent her husband from being forced into an Arranged Marriage.
  • Vocal Evolution: The first episode gives her voice a more obvious Southern twang than the pilot.
  • "Well Done, Daughter!" Girl: Has shades of this in "The Harvest Moon Festival." While she dearly loves her parents and vice-versa, she seems disheartened by their mild disapproval that she left the farm to go into "freelance" work (which they seem to think means "work for free") and at the end of the episode when they admonish her for not being strong enough to fight off the farm hand that they hired.
  • What Does She See in Him?: Loona and Eddie's insults for Millie aren't so much directed at her but that she would marry someone like Moxxie.
  • Wicked Heart Symbol: A Cute and Psycho murderer with a black heart tattoo.
  • Wingding Eyes: She gets happy sparkles in her pupils when Blitzo tells her they're going to Loo Loo Land.
  • The Worf Effect: She's the most dangerous member of I.M.P due to being an Ax-Crazy Pint-Sized Powerhouse. Unfortunately for her, her strength means she occasionally acts as a measuring stick for showing an opponent's threat-level, specifically by getting her ass whooped, such as Ralphie easily knocking her out with a glass bottle or Striker subduing her with only some struggle.
  • Worf Had the Flu: She lost her fight against Striker in "The Harvest Moon Festival" because she was too pissed off to think clearly after she walked in on him trying to kill Moxxie.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Unlike her husband, Millie has no qualms about hurting or killing kids, though unlike her boss, she's capable of keeping that side of hers at bay as she's aware that it triggers Moxxie's sensitive side.
  • Younger Than They Look: At least to Loona, who calls Millie an old lady in "Truth Seekers", but Millie herself states that she's only about 5 years older than the hellhound, who is confirmed to be 22.

"Oh, this company is fucked."

The receptionist of Immediate Murder Professionals, and Blitzo's adopted daughter. Loona is an apathetic, lazy, irascible hellhound who would rather be doing anything but work, but she manages to keep her position thanks to Blitzo's incessant coddling. Despite her rough exterior, though, she's actually quite sensitive, as well as a total sweetheart when someone gets to know her well.
  • Accent Adaptation: Inverted in a way between the official and Geecko's Latin American Spanish dubs. Loona speaks with a neutral accent in the official one, while the imps speaks with Mexican accents, as her voice actress, Carmen Mazariegos, is from Guatemala. On the other hand, in the Geecko one, she speaks with the same accent like the rest of the cast, barring Millie.
  • Adult Adoptee: Loona reveals in "Spring Broken" that she was adopted by Blitzo when she was almost 18 years old. In "Seeing Stars", it was shown that Loona was going to be aged out of the hellhound adoption circuit less than a month before Blitzo adopted her, meaning he adopted her no more than a handful of days before she became a legal adult.
  • Advertised Extra: Both In-Universe and Meta:
    • In-Universe: the commercial for I.M.P shown in the pilot depicts Loona engaging in assassination duties, despite her being a receptionist who mans the portal rather than a field operative. "Spring Broken" implies it's because Blitzo is very overprotective and doesn't want Loona coming along because Earth is supposedly full of "freaks". However, Blitzo mentions in "Western Energy" that Loona has been doing more "field work" recently.
    • Meta: As mentioned below in Out of Focus, despite being as prominent as the rest of IMP in the pilot, getting plenty of space in the series poster, and being a heavy focus on the series' merchandise, Loona is treated more as a secondary character in the show proper. The first season quickly has her left Out of Focus, with only "Spring Broken", "Truth Seekers", and "Queen Bee" giving her time to shine. In the second season, only "Seeing Stars" counts as a proper focus episode, with her mostly demoted to non-speaking cameos until the back half. In the Helluva Shorts, she is mostly absent altogether, with "Mission: Orphan Time" being the only short focused on her.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Blitzo lovingly calls her "Loonie".
  • Afraid of Needles: Much like a normal dog, Loona is deathly afraid of getting a shot, slipping into a silent panic mode, just at the thought of getting one, extremely unlike her usual self. She even goes on a near-feral rampage upon seeing the comedically large needle that's going to be injected into her, forcing Blitzo and the Doctor to fight and restrain her to finally take it.
  • The Alcoholic: In the pilot it's shown that she loves her drink, managing to get a hangover from her morning drinking alone.
  • All Amazons Want Hercules: While she herself is not very muscular, she's easily among the most capable fighters in the series, and falls for the big and imposing Tex.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: In the adoption agency, she was considered a menace and bullied by her own kind, including other presumably orphan teens. The agency's owner seems downright relieved at the idea of getting rid of her.
  • Angry Animalistic Growl: Very, very frequently, as a Furry Reminder.
  • Apathetic Clerk: She is the head secretary of I.M.P. headquarters, but she would rather stare at her phone, read magazines, or drink than do her work.
  • Aura Vision: She's capable of tracking specific people by sniffing their names from a list, causing her to see them in a red color.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other:
    • Loona almost calls Blitzo "Dad" in "Spring Broken" until she catches herself and calls him by his name. After her argument with Blitzo in the same episode, she tries to apologize to him, and she looks genuinely upset when he walks away.
    • In "Seeing Stars", while Loona still doesn't give Blitzo any physical affection, she does smile when he is relieved she is okay. Even though she does whack him with a book, she even smiles when he tries to give her a hug. She even has a moment with Octavia in the same episode where she talks about how even Blitzo does mess up as a dad a lot, the fact that he is trying to do the right thing does mean a lot to her.
    • At the end of "Queen Bee", Blitzo rambles about he's worried about Dying Alone and asks if Loona will be there. After Blitzo buries his face in a pillow, Loona gently tells him "I'll be there, Dad", and puts a blanket over Blitzo to comfort him.
    • Twofer in "The Full Moon". She, Millie, and Moxxie all tail Blitzo to make sure his night with Stolas goes perfectly, and that includes taking care of unwanted distractions like cherubim assassins, though she claims to C.H.E.R.U.B. that it's so they don't lose their meal ticket. When they and C.H.E.R.U.B. start throwing down and Millie and Moxxie start plummeting from up in the sky after Keenie and Cletus' power armors fail, Loona only hesitates for a second to come up with a plan before grabbing a rocket launcher and knocking down a building to give them a swimming pool to land in.
    • In "Ghostf**kers", after being left in charge of Moxxie, who is struggling to work out I.M.P.'s finances, one would expect Loona to torment him left and right. However, it's implied all she's really doing is making sure he doesn't hurt himself too badly, and when he has his hope of financially working out I.M.P.'s problems snatched away by Loona pointing out he made an error, she immediately snatches him and takes him to Blitzo's coping room, where she provides him with a blanket, ice cream, and a musical to watch to cheer him up, rather than delighting in him going off the rails like one would imagine she normally would do.
    • Comes to a head in "Mastermind", where the only thing she doesn't destroy while I.M.P. torch the place is a picture of them all completing their first job. She is also the most vocally affectionate to Blitzo in this episode, calling him "Dad" several times and being completely torn up about everything happening to him during the court session. When they get home, she shares how happy she is that he's alright, before they hug, and she whispers, "I love you Dad".
  • The Baby of the Bunch: She's confirmed to be 22 in "Hell" years during a Q&A on Vivziepop's channel, making her the youngest adult at I.M.P. And given how Millie mentions in "Truth Seekers" that she's older than her by five years, this makes her (and possibly Moxxie) 27-years-old.
  • Babysitter's Nightmare: Blitzo references a babysitter for her in a flashback during 'Exes And Ohs', heavily implying her to be one of these.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Loona was eager to take an active part in the group's missions since the start of the show. When she finally gets to do such following Stolas taking over as receptionist, her first two targets are perfectly innocent people. Her response to Mr. Wrigglers not being an Asshole Victim in particular makes clear this wasn't the type of action she was hoping for, and she ends the job visibly traumatized.
  • Barefoot Cartoon Animal: Her attire consists of a pair of toeless stockings that leave her paws and claws exposed.
  • Bare Midriffs Are Feminine: She wears a rather small, off-the-shoulder crop-top.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Being called a "furry" pisses her off (since she's the real deal and dislikes being compared to "freaks").
    • Also, don't mention shots or put her in the same room as a syringe. Hysteria will ensure, and not necessarily the funny kind.
  • The Berserker: Not to Millie's extent, but she's shown to be rather aggressive on the occasions where she isn't "busy" with her job. When we finally see her in action against the D.H.O.R.K.S agents in "Truth Seekers", she acts like a feral dog on two legs.
    Loona: DIE, MOTHERFUCKERS!!!
  • Big Eater: A good chunk of "Sinsmas" has her snacking on different kinds of dog treats, seemingly as a nod to her Gluttony origins.
  • Bound and Gagged: A particularly cruel case in "Mastermind". While all four I.M.P. members are chained up during their court case, Loona is also made to wear a steel muzzle, meaning she is Forced to Watch her father takes the fall for her and almost get executed without even getting to say any parting words.
  • Bratty Teenage Daughter: She's Blitzo's adoptive daughter and is quite surly. Though the "teenage" part is a bit of a stretch given how she's in her early twenties.
  • Break the Nihilist: Downplayed. Since "Murder Family", Loona has mocked the idea of innocent goodwilled people and is uneager to trust or open up to anyone, even her adoptive father, as a result, believing everyone is depraved or selfish deep down. While she shows signs of softening as the series goes on, it is Blitzo Taking the Heat in "Mastermind" so only he will be executed that truly leads her to realise someone can genuinely and selflessly care about her, reducing her to remorseful tears. This is repeated in "Mission: Orphan Time", where her first proper mission has the target turn out to be a perfectly sweet man rather than a fraudulent Slimeball like she assumed, leaving her clearly disturbed when she finally does the job (and even unwittingly makes it more painful than she intended).
  • Brilliant, but Lazy:
    • It originally seemed Loona was just a lazy, Sassy Secretary who always chooses to stay behind at I.M.P's headquarters and has no real combat experience — and whenever she did come along, she was usually fiddling around on her phone. Then comes the D.H.O.R.K.S agent slaughter of "Truth Seekers", where she shows herself to be the best fighter of the whole group!
    • She's usually focused on her cell phone, giving the impression that she doesn't pay attention to things going on around her. But in "Murder Family", she has the foresight to grab the grimoire before evacuating the office when it catches fire.
    • Her poor attitude while at work forces Blitzo to confront her in "Seeing Stars" about her seeming lack of "people skills". But as seen later with Octavia, as well as previously in "Spring Broken" with Vortex, Loona can be friendly and personable when she wants to be.
  • The Bully: In the pilot especially, she seems to have it out for Moxxie — she eats his lunch, faxes him a weight-loss ad, tapes a "Kick-Me" sign on his back, and has a phone app dedicated to Photoshopping ridiculous costumes on him, with another one that simulates all sorts of nasty scenarios on him. Anywhere else but Hell, and she would've been reported and fired 30 times over. The show tones down this aspect increasingly, though some vitriol between her and Moxxie remains for a while.
  • But Not Too Bi: Loona's bisexuality is confirmed via Word of God, but except for a throwaway line where she says Queen Beelzebub is "hot", she otherwise only expresses attraction to male characters.
  • Calling Parents by Their Name: Blitzo is her adoptive father, but she almost always refers to him by his name since she doesn't like showing the fact she cares about him. That said, there are times where she slips up: on Instagram, she was so worried about him being kidnapped that she straight out called him "dad", though she immediately tried to walk it back out of embarrassment by claiming she was just upset that food was running low in their home. In "Spring Broken", she was so flustered with seeing Vortex that she almost slipped and called Blitzo "Dad" before catching herself. This has however all changed following the events of "Mastermind" where, upon almost losing him, Loona has begun to call Blitzo "dad" almost constantly.
  • Can't Take Criticism: She's not at all good with facing any form of feedback. In the pilot, she gets offended and goes berserk when Millie questions on why she would drink on a work morning, and when Moxxie points out that she was eating his lunch respectively. Then in "Seeing Stars", she physically attacks Blitzo when he tries to have "the talk" with her about her behavior on handling clients.
  • Character Blog: She has an Instagram account called moonlight_howling_666.
  • Character Development: Following his near death in "Mastermind", Loona is finally actively showing how much she cares for Blitzo, proceeding to call him Dad at every opportunity, and showing concern for him when he seems torn up about I.M.P.'s latest assignment in "Sinsmas". After the party with Beelzebub at the end of Season 1, she is seen happily hanging out with her new hellhound friends.
  • Characterization Marches On:
    • Loona was initially shown in the pilot as a lazy and misanthropic secretary, apathetic to her co-workers, selfish, ungrateful, and a generally unpleasant alcoholic who was implied to have slept around. The series proper retools her to a moody young woman just barely out of her teens by toning down some of her nasty personality, making her much more mellow and giving her some Hidden Heart of Gold moments while still keeping the angry goth aesthetic. "Mastermind" defrosts her even more so into the "Heart Of Gold" aspect of her character, remaining snarky and crude a lot of the time, but showing a much gentler and friendlier side around her team, especially her father.
    • Additionally the pilot conveys Loona as exceptionally antipathetic and wrathful even outside I.M.P's circle, punting a baby to cool her nerves, and taking gleeful pleasure revealing Eddie is their target over a petty insult, sealing his fate. Within the main show, Loona is implied to be more empathetic than she lets on, recurrently craving a social circle, and her first mission falling apart because she hesitates in killing a target who is a perfectly sweet and innocent man.
  • Chest Insignia: Loona's top is designed to resemble the sigil of Baphomet, adding to her punk-girl image.
  • Commonality Connection: In "Seeing Stars", she quickly finds herself empathizing with Octavia over her troubled relationship with Stolas. She comforts Octavia by assuring her that parents can be flawed, but they are at least trying.
  • Cone of Shame: Loona is put in one of these after getting her Hellbies shot in "Western Energy", which she, given how fast she collapses in the car, is too exhausted to care about.
  • Cool Big Sis: "Seeing Stars" shows that she acts as one for Octavia, besides the fact that their dads are kind of dating, the two are shown to have an awful lot in common in both taste and personality. Octavia is the only person Loona is actually nice to without any underlining reason, who of all people actually helps Octavia by just talking to her. We also see that Loona is very protective of Octavia, pushing the younger girl behind her when Blitzo runs at the two.
  • Cosmic Motifs: The Moon, this is evident from her name, an alternative spelling for Luna, that she uses the name moonlight_howling_666 on instagram, and the small crescent moon that's on her shorts.
  • Crush Blush: She gets one around Vortex, another hellhound, in "Spring Broken". When Blitzo sees it, he immediately steps between the two hellhounds to tell off Vortex.
  • Daddy's Girl: Although she doesn't like to show it, Loona is shown to deeply love Blitzo and the two become much closer as the show goes on, with her even affectionately calling him "dad" multiple times.
  • Daddy's Little Villain:
    • Played with, she's Blitzo's adopted daughter and in "Truth Seekers" upon seeing her furiously mow down numerous agents alongside the rest of I.M.P and cursing like a sailor, he's awestruck and beaming with pride at the carnage she's causing, and much to her chagrin, gives her a kiss on the cheek.
    • Played straighter from "Mastermind" onwards, where Loona has become much closer to her dad and more eager to be involved in his work. In "Sinsmas" Loona insists on taking part in a mission with Blitzo, and when it's clear he's having second thoughts about their target, she gently offers to do the job herself.
    • Deconstructed in "Mission: Orphan Time" however, where Loona finally goes on a mission with Blitzo....and dithers to kill their target when they turn out to be a perfectly Nice Guy. It is made apparent that the parallels to him and Blitzo is one of the reasons Loona is skittish about doing the job, as the guy is also an adoptive father.
  • Dark Action Girl: In "Truth Seekers", she takes down and slaughters a bunch of Agents, proving her to be quite possibly the most dangerous member of I.M.P.
  • Dark and Troubled Past:
    • Her past was first mentioned during "Spring Broken" where, during an argument with Blitzo, she mentions that she was "almost 18" when he adopted her, and based on her tone of voice, it's implied that she had to look out for herself and wasn't ready to rely on others just yet, hence the reason why she's so grumpy and guarded all the time.
    • "Seeing Stars" dives a bit further to her past, which reveals that she was living in an Orphanage of Fear that closely resembled a hybrid of a dog-pound and a prison. When Blitzo meets her in her cell for the first time, she was in a Troubled Fetal Position and begun crying heavily, to the point that seeing her like this hits his Trauma Button pretty hard.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Since she usually doesn't participate in jobs, she tends to stay out of the spotlight overall, though there are three exceptions: "Queen Bee" is an episode all about her, while "Seeing Stars" and the short "Mission: Orphan Time" heavily feature her.
  • Deadpan Snarker: While in the pilot all of her aggression was channeled into being a surly Hair-Trigger Temper Jerkass, the series proper changes it into most of her insulting attitude being passive-aggressive in nature, so she regularly acts incredibly snarky towards things that annoy her, such as sarcastically saying she "feels so loved" when Millie tries to stop Moxxie from shooting her since she's "their only hellhound", or understatedly expressing how peeved she is that Loopty smashed through the wall to get in when there were perfectly functioning doors he could've used.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: While making some subtle development throughout Seasons One and Two, "Mastermind" truly galvanizes her bond with Blitzo when the latter pulls a Heroic Sacrifice for her and the rest of the group in court, taking full blame for their crimes so only he will face execution. Realising the full extent her adoptive father cares about her (and that she was very nearly deprived the chance to make things right with him), Loona wastes no time at all expressing her love for Blitzo after they make it out alive.
  • Delinquent Hair: She has long messy hair swept to the left side of her head, with her bangs sometimes obscuring part of her left eye. This is furthered in her human form, with the right side of her head being shaved to mimic her hellhound form's style.
  • Desperately Craves Affection: To the point where Blitzo takes one look at her at the pound and sees himself in her. She has no friends and constantly pushes the people she cares about away due to her insecurities and history. She also gets extremely defensive when Bee starts complimenting her, thinking Bee is actually making fun of her. Despite this, she really does appreciate what Blitzo is trying to do for her deep down, even though she hates showing it in public, and ends her focus episode in Season 1 happy to have been an accepted part of Queen Bee's party before taking Blitzo home to get him some rest in his alcohol-addled depressed state.
  • Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu?: Mouths off to Beelzebub, a much more powerful being than her, at their own party. When Bee grows in size and challenges Loona, she's only briefly afraid before jumping back into a ready stance. She only backs down when she realizes the adverse effect their tussle is having on Vortex.
  • Dreary Half-Lidded Eyes: Of the 'bored and pissed off' variety. She can open them fully, but bouts of emotion are few and far between.
  • Drinking on Duty: Given her alcoholism, this comes as no surprise. The prime example being "OZZIE'S" where she causally drinks from a bottle and then uses it to activate the portal for her coworkers to return to hell.
  • Ear Notch: Her right ear has a couple of tears. Her adoption photo in "OZZIE'S" and the flashback in "Seeing Stars" show she used to have ear piercings there that matched her other ear, implying they had been ripped out since.
  • Embarrassing Ringtone: Her desk phone barks like a Chihuahua, and has a receiver shaped like a bone. One presumes Blitzo bought it for her.
  • Even the Girls Want Her: In "Spring Broken", Loona's Honey Trap routine lures in a number of women as well as men.
  • Everyone Has Standards: She's normally a Lazy Bum when on duty, mostly playing with her cell phone. But in "Seeing Stars" upon realizing that said cell phone lets her find Octavia through Sinstagram, Loona has a crisis of conscience before ultimately choosing to go after Octavia.
  • Expressive Hair: Her hair gets frizzy when she's agitated.
  • Extreme Omnivore: In the pilot she eats what's left of Blitzo's cell phone after he blends it. It was at his request, but she drinks it with no comment on its taste or texture and was in the room to see the red slurry she just drank was the remains of Blitzo's phone. In the series proper comes up again in Ghostf**kers, when she steals everyone's coffee by dumping all of them, cups included, into her mouth. Come "Sinsmas", it is implied this may be a consequence of her being a hellhound, the native denizens of the Gluttony Ring.
  • Felon's Failson: Due to Blitzo adopting her fairly late in her youth and mostly being very skittish about actually involving her directly in his work, Loona exhibits aspects of several different variants of the trope depending on the circumstance. She spends most of the early series as the Spoiled Brat, being lazy, rude and putting zero effort into her job, though Character Development sees her wanting to involve herself more with her adoptive father, only for cases such as "Mission: Orphan Time" to end up more ruthless than she had bargained for, ironically giving her aspects of the Try Hard and White Sheep. Downplayed of course, since Blitzo still loves her dearly, and her failings have yet to be much worse than the rest of I.M.P's incompetence despite their success rate as assassins.
  • Femme Fatale: Despite not having much of a sex drive at all during it, she willingly uses her attractiveness for business during I.M.P.'s competition against Verosika, reeling in people for her cohorts to discretely kill.
  • Flipping the Bird: Does this when Moxxie insults her in the pilot, and in some of her Instagram photos. She gives Blitzo two middle fingers in "Seeing Stars" when he tasks her with finding Octavia after he and Stolas are captured.
  • Foil: To Vortex. Loona is hard to work with and is very dismissive about Blitzo and the rest of the company, while Vortex is actually pretty nice and doesn't give his boss Verosika trouble.
  • Freudian Excuse: It's implied in "Seeing Stars" that her very lonely upbringing in the hellhound-equivalent of an Orphanage of Fear is why she's so ill-tempered, and why she violently reacts to Blitzo's displays of affection.
  • Friendless Background: Says she doesn't have any friends in "Spring Broken" during her Gibberish of Love around Vortex. After he invites her to Beelzebub's party she managed to make some other hellhound friends, even waving goodbye to them when she takes Blitzo home.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: The only member of I.M.P who likes her is Blitzo, and even he is quick to get the Hell out of her way when she's sufficiently angry with him. By contrast, Moxxie doesn't seem to like her at all, and while Millie occasionally gets along with her, she will more likely side with her husband whenever Moxxie and Loona get into an argument. In "Spring Broken" she flat-out admits to Vortex that she doesn't have any friends.
  • Furry Reminder: There have been numerous scenarios that show how, while she might stand upright and be as intelligent as any other common demon, she's still a canine with all the quirks and traits common to them.
    • In the I.M.P commercial, she grabs a demon in her mouth and violently shakes it like a dog playing with a chew toy.
    • Her hair puffs up if she is in dangerous situations or is angry. Real life dogs raise their hackles when they are feeling extreme emotions like fear, anxiety, excitement, nervousness or anger.
    • Occasionally, she is seen wagging her tail or doing a whining noise, such as when she gets a Crush Blush near Vortex.
    • Her lip curls whenever Blitzo hugs her, showing off her fangs. Dogs (and wolves) who hate having their personal space invaded reflexively expose their fangs as a warning that they're about to bite.
    • When their new client barges in through the windows instead of going through the wall in "C.H.E.R.U.B", Loona is seen dropping on all fours with her fangs out.
    • When she hears Blitzo call for help against Striker in "The Harvest Moon Festival", Loona's ears perk up, which some breeds of dog are known to do when they become alerted to something.
    • In "Truth Seekers": When one of the agents throws a kusarigama at Blitzo, Loona intercepts the weapon by "fetching" it instead of using her hands.
    • An official promotional image showing I.M.P hanging out with the crew at Chaos Emporium, who co-animated "Truth Seekers", she is seen drinking out of a wine glass with her tongue the same way a dog would.
    • She admits she barks at a postman if they annoy her.
    • In "Seeing Stars": Before shrinking into a Troubled Fetal Position at the hellhound kennel, Loona lets out a canine-like whimper.
    • "Western Energy" has an entire B-Plot revolving around this, showing Loona's fear of shots and how she lashes out when backed into a corner with a threat.
    • "Queen Bee" has her shaking various foodstuffs off her like a dog rather than using her hands to wipe them off.
  • Fury-Fueled Foolishness: While it's not to Millie's extent (ironically since she's not the one with the Hair-Trigger Temper), there are more than one occasion that Loona can let her anger issues get the better of her.
    • The first time was in "Spring Broken" during an argument with Blitzo, in which she got so fed up in him trying to baby her that she straight up tells him that she didn't need him before he adopted her, and that she didn't need him now. That caused Blitzo to become emotionally hurt by this, and after an awkward silence, Loona realized that she'd gotten too far and begun to apologize, though Blitzo brushing it off stops her from finishing.
    • The second time was during "Queen Bee" where it's clear that Loona become slightly jealous of Vortex's healthy relationship with Beezlebub, and when Bee herself ask Loona to go check on Blitzo (who was heavily drinking and thus, disturbing all the party guests), Loona lets her envy of Bee slip up when she made a snide comment under her breath, angering Bee and causing her to use her Full Demon form to intimidate the hellhound to "not fuck with her". While Loona was ready to brawl with Bee, it isn't until she saw Tex's uncomfortable expression is when she finally realized that she was making a scene and had, once again, let her temper get the better of her, thus apologizing to Bee and slumped sadly as she was walking over to check on Blitzo.
  • Gibberish of Love: She starts awkwardly stammering and going on long tangents when she's talking to Vortex in "Spring Broken". She reveals that she doesn't have any friends by accident this way.
  • Glowing Eyes: While not always apparent, certain scenes in darker environments like the end of 'Seeing Stars' show her eyes to be luminescent.
  • Goth Girls Know Magic: Her outfit is more "gothic" than normal for Hell and she's the one who usually casts the portal spell. She also has the ability to cast a Human Disguise spell on herself to pass for human, something her coworkers can't do on their own.
  • Grayscale of Evil: Her color scheme includes white, grey, and black, in contrast to the other I.M.P employees' Red and Black and Evil All Over. She's also a Villain Protagonist like the rest of I.M.P, being complicit if not outright involved in the deaths of many humans on Earth, in addition to being fairly surly and violent in general.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: It's subtle, but during the majority of "Queen Bee", we can clearly see that Loona is slightly jealous of Beelzebub (AKA the Queen Sin of Gluttony), given how she's basically the opposite of her (friendly, lively, sociable and easily makes friends from left-to-right) and how she and Vortex has a stable and loving relationship with each other. When Bee herself tries to tell Loona to go check up on Blitzo (who was drinking heavily at the time), Loona let her envy of Bee get the better of her and absentmindedly insult her under her breath. That said, her outfit during "Sinsmas" slightly resembles Beelzebub's trademark crop-top with a heart-shaped cutout and shorts, indicating that she may have admire her as well, somewhat.
  • Groin Attack: She administers a ruthless one to Blitzo in "Seeing Stars" when he tearfully races to hug her, whilst apologizing profusely for saying he'd replace Loona earlier in the episode.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: She has a pretty nasty temper though it's most prominent in the Pilot, with a prime example is where she explodes when Moxxie simply asked her on why she was eating his avocado salad he brought for lunch. It somewhat dies down in the proper series where she became more of a sullen and grumpy Deadpan Snarker, though it’s still brought up from time-to-time, like in "Seeing Stars".
  • Hammerspace: At one point she pulls Stolas' Grimoire seemingly from out of thin air behind her back despite not having a waistline nearly wide enough to conceal it.
  • Happily Adopted: Double Subverted. While Blitzo is her adoptive father, Loona always acts surly and distant from him, with a particularly notable case of Blitzo butting into her personal life causing her to outright declare he's not her real dad. However, various points through both "Spring Broken" and their Instagrams show that this is really being embarrassed about showing affection, and that Blitzo was the first person to care for her after spending most of her life in the hellhound adoption circuit. Whenever she gets really emotional, Loona can show that she's grateful for Blitzo having come into her life. It just takes quite a bit to get there.
  • Hartman Hips: Due to her species' powerful leg strength, along with her being the tallest member of I.M.P., her design draws attention to her hips. This even carries out in her human form (who has a slimmer build).
  • Has a Type: Loona has a thing for Hunks. She has Love at First Sight for Vortex in "Spring Broken" and when she initially wanted to leave the party in "Queen Bee", a different hunky hellhound showing interest in her immediately changes her mind into wanting to stay.
  • Hates Being Touched: Loona is shown throughout the series to have a strong aversion to being touched, reacting either with threatening growls or violence:
    • In the pilot, she growls when Blitzo hugs her and starts nuzzling her face.
    • In "Truth Seekers", during the fight, she goes into a rage when Blitzo nuzzles and kisses her cheek with paternal pride.
    • In "Seeing Stars", Blitzo races over to hug her, which she prevents by reflexively kicking him in the groin, and shortly after bops him in the face with the grimoire when he tries again. However, this episode reveals her aversion to being touched may stem from her Dark and Troubled Past, and she can handle being touched when she's the one initiating the contact, as seen when she allows Octavia to hug her and then holds her hand through the portal.
  • Hellhound: An anthropomorphic example. Billboards show hellhounds are treated like real-world dogs, in that hellhounds are pets. However, both Loona and another hellhound named Vortex show that hellhounds are fully sapient.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • In "Murder Family", when Moxxie says that I.M.P shouldn't kill an innocent family, Loona looks at the photo she was holding for target practice with a sad expression as if agreeing with him, before harshly doubling down on it. This would be culminated in "Mission: Orphan Time" where it's revealed Loona does have qualms about killing a kindly adoptive father, and her Character Development since then means she is less willing to sound it out.
    • She's implied to have an above-average aptitude for demonic magic. She's usually the one who uses Stolas' Grimoire, and she's the only member of I.M.P capable of conjuring a Human Disguise, an ability implied to be fairly rare by "Seeing Stars". In that episode, Octavia, despite Stolas claiming she's a prodigy at magic, doesn't use a disguise herself, though he may simply have neglected to teach it to her since she has no reason to visit Earth. It ties into Loona's characterization as someone who is extremely talented but barely motivated.
  • Hiding Behind Your Bangs: Loona's hair is styled with bangs that sometimes cover parts of her left eye (though, due to the art style, said eye is still completely visible even if her bangs are still curtaining them), and it's often there to communicate a general distaste for social interaction and her Bratty Teenage Daughter aspects.
  • Hitman with a Heart: Surprisingly Loona proves to be this in her first active mission in "It's Orphan Time". When faced with the reality that Mr. Wrigglers isn't a phony or creep and simply an innocent father figure targeted for petty reasons, she tries her hardest to give him a gentle final moment. As with Moxxie in "Murder Family", however, it all backfires horribly, as when Mr. Wrigglers panics from seeing her hound form, she accidentally shoots him, with Blitzo having to finish him in a painful gory manner.
  • Honey Trap: Serves as this in "Spring Broken". To get I.M.P's targets isolated, Loona puts on a human disguise with magic, leads people away from the crowds with the implication that they're going to have sex, then has the rest of I.M.P kill the victim.
  • Hot in Human Form: While donning her Human Disguise in "Spring Broken", Loona has no problem attracting human beachgoers. Funnily enough, Blitzo thinks it looks hideous.
  • Human Disguise: She's capable of using magic to transform herself into a human-like appearance that's similar to her look as a hellhound. In "Spring Broken", multiple demons are shown to be capable of this, and Loona yells at everyone else in I.M.P for killing people on Earth without maintaining the masquerade.
Millie: You have a human disguise?
    Loona: Yeah! Don't you?
(everyone else at I.M.P looks around nervously)
Loona: You three have been screwing around on Earth this whole fucking time... without human disguises?!
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: In "Spring Broken", she admits to Vortex she doesn't have any friends and seems bothered greatly by that, and perks up when Vortex suggests she come to one of his parties so she can make some. (Even if she was upset he had a girlfriend.)
  • Informed Deformity: Being a hellhound, her appearance is supposed to be so terrifying to the average human that most literally drop dead of fright upon seeing her true form. However, the art style depicts her as a conventionally attractive anthropomorphic wolf girl whose demonic appearance varies little from her human disguise.
  • Interspecies Adoption: She's a hellhound that's been adopted by an imp.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: In sharp contrast to her usual anger issues, she seems to accept Vortex having a girlfriend despite her obvious attraction. She attends his party anyway, compliments said girlfriend and backs off from what could have been a confrontation when she sees how it bothers him.
  • Jade-Colored Glasses: Due to spending most of her life in an orphanage due to constant rejections, Loona has a deeply cynical outlook and believes everyone is Secretly Selfish. The odd times she realises someone has legitimate good intentions and the glasses are finally lifted however, Loona often demonstrates a much softer more compassionate side to her still exists, as observed by Blitzo's Heroic Sacrifice in "Mastermind", or being assigned to kill the unflappably good-willed Mr. Wriggers in "Mission: Orphan Time".
  • Jerkass: During the pilot where she's at her worst, being a cynical, ill-tempered, bullying, ungrateful and outright insulting bitch who shows little to no empathy towards her co-workers. It dies down by the time the main series aired, in which she becomes more of a Jerk with a Heart of Gold.
  • Jerkass Has a Point:
    • Like her adoptive father, Loona's blunt statement of Stolas being a "clingy, rich asshole" is not untrue in the slightest. Subverted in later episodes, where it's shown that he's not all that bad.
    • When Moxxie shows hesitation over the possibility of killing an innocent family, she points out that Moxxie has no way of knowing for certain that they're truly innocent, and that they could, in fact, be very terrible people. Sure enough, Loona is proven right when the imps encounter a seemingly innocent family who turn out to be Satanic, cannibalistic psychopaths.
    • In "Spring Broken", she expresses frustrated shock that Blitzo, Millie, and Moxxie have been carrying out assignments on Earth without human disguises, pointing out that they could get in serious trouble if they get caught.
  • Jerkass Realization:
    • The first sign she has limits in her coldness is in "Spring Broken" where she angrily lashes out at Blitzo that him adopting her was a formality and she never actually needed him her whole life. After an awkward silence, she realizes she went too far and begins to apologize, but a hurt Blitzo brushes her off.
    • "Mastermind" truly puts into perspective for Loona just how genuinely Blitzo loves her, as he ends up Taking the Heat for the whole group in court so only he will be executed but they will be spared. After years wasting opportunities to requit these affections with only Jerkass behavior (and almost having to watch Blitzo die without being able to do so there due to her being Bound and Gagged), Loona wastes no time accepting him after the group are freed, hugging Blitzo in tears.
      Loona: *sobbing* Dad!!
  • Jerkass to One: Whether it's her more Jerkass pilot self or her more gold-hearted series self, one consistent aspect of her jerkassery is that she uses Moxxie as the designated target for her worst attitude. Even when she's being nicer to him, she's still more aggressive and abusive than when she acts nicer to others like Blitzo or Millie.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: The pilot had Loona at her most cruel, being a literal bitch that treats everybody around her as little more than nuisances, even her adoptive father Blitzo. But there were still a few scenes here and there that implied a Hidden Heart of Gold. The series proper amplifies that heart, still having her be a major literal bitch, but toning it down to where she occasionally expresses actual concern and helpfulness towards others, albeit hidden behind a major Tsundere facade, and deep down she genuinely appreciates how Blitzo took her in and gave her a home to belong, even if her Bratty Teenage Daughter persona makes it hard for her to show it. "Mastermind" onwards fully amplifies this trope, after her defrosting during the emotional court hearing, Loona has become much more open and comfortable around her father and the rest of the group, though retains her acerbic nature about her job.
  • Kick the Dog: Happens twice during the pilot, though it's played for Black Comedy:
    • She hangs up on Millie when she calls her for help after she's been stabbed.
    • She literally kicks a baby carriage to "blow off steam".
  • Lack of Empathy: Par for the course for a resident of Hell. In a flashback, Millie calls her to ask for help because she was stabbed. Loona's responds by immediately hanging up on her. This is downplayed in the series, as in "Truth Seekers", when Millie is having a breakdown when they're forced to shut the portal, thus leaving Blitzo and Moxxie behind in the living world, Loona asks if the Imp is okay with a concerned and awkward expression.
  • Lady in Red: She wears a red dress to Tex's party, potentially signalling her still-lingering attraction to him despite his girlfriend.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: Even in conjunction with her short temper, Loona is extremely foul-mouthed, with the only bigger offender being Blitzo.
  • Lazy Bum: While Loona is ostensibly the secretary/receptionist at I.M.P., it is evident that she treats her job as a nuisance at best, and is pretty much only able to hold on to the position due to being Blitzo's adoptive daughter, instead spending the vast majority of her work time (when she bothers to show up) either on her personal phone or asleep.
  • Leg Focus: In addition to her big hips, she also has long and incredibly toned legs in both her hellhound and human form.
  • Lightning Bruiser: In "Truth-Seekers", she swiftly tears through dozens of D.H.O.R.K.S agents like sheet paper without taking a single scratch.
  • Like Parent, Like Child:
  • Literal Man Eater: While not eating her victims, she's a physically monstrous creature who takes the form of an attractive human female to lure in and kill men.
  • Love at First Sight: Loona immediately goes ga-ga for Vortex when she sees him for the first time. After stepping off the elevator to get to I.M.P's office, Loona laments that her makeup is "shitty today", and gets a Crush Blush when she sees Vortex again. Too bad she found out he already has a girlfriend.
  • Magical Star Symbols: The pentagram formed from the shirt straps on her chest represents her demonic nature, even if she doesn't frequently use magic.
  • Man Bites Man: Part of her fighting style, illustrating her savagery and fury. In 'Truth Seekers' she catches a man's entire head in her mouth and bites down on it.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name is an alternate spelling of Luna, the Latin word for the Moon, fitting for a werewolf-like character with mostly white fur.
  • Morphic Resonance: Her Human Disguise retains the white fur her hellhound form has by giving her an albino-esque skintone, and her hair is in a shaved undercut style to mimic how her hellhound form's hair is swept to the right to reveal her ear. The type of shoes she wears while human also evokes her original hellhound form's hind paws with the tips of the shoes in particular designed in way to resemble her typically exposed hellhound toes.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Loona is very attractive and good-looking (in both her regular hellhound and human form), and out of all the members of I.M.P., she has the most revealing outfit with a crop-top and a pair of short-shorts, thus highlighting her figure nicely. In "The Full Moon", she even briefly wiggles her rear when saying how the C.H.E.R.U.B. got ass-kicked in the past by the I.M.P. Hell, it's gotten to a point where fans have taken notice of this to such a degree it was even referenced in the show itself.
Blitzo: Spring break is no place for young vulnerable goth girls. You know the kind of FREAKS up there who'd drool all over you!
[Cue all of I.M.P looking straight at the camera in disgust for several seconds]
  • Multi-Melee Master: While she usually fights with her own claws and teeth, she has effectively used firearms, throwing knives and stars, and blades, and even utilising some of CHERUB's gunfire against them.
  • My Nayme Is: It's "Loona", not the more traditional "Luna".
  • Mysterious Past: What we know of her begins at age 17, when she was adopted by Blitzo just before aging out of the system. How long she was in said system, when her biological parents died/if she ever even knew them, and the many other questions remain unanswered.
  • Nepotism: She's flippantly open about how much she hates her job, hardly puts in any effort, and doesn't respect her boss and co-workers, but keeps her position because of Blitzo's affection for her. This is addressed in "Seeing Stars" when Blitzo is forced to tell her that her poor attitude is driving away customers.
  • Never Got to Say Goodbye: Narrowly averted. In "Mastermind", Blitzo is readied for execution in Satan's court. Despite making his final declarations of love to his daughter and the rest of I.M.P., Loona, due to being chained and muzzled, is unable to say any parting words to her father, and can only sob in heartbreak as she is about lose him forever. While Stolas manages to stop things Just in Time, nearly losing Blitzo on a mostly cold, turbulent relationship galvanized Loona's much kinder treatment of her father immediately afterwards. Tellingly she insists on letting Mr. Wrigglers say goodbye to all his kids in "Mission Orphan Time".
  • Noble Demon: "Mission: Orphan Time" reveals she may be an even bigger case than Moxxie. Due to her earlier cynical nature and I.M.P.'s usual track record for clients, she seemed under the assumption that their general targets were Asshole Victims. When she discovers her first job is the genuinely sweet and charitable TV host and adoptive father to many, Mr Wrigglers, she becomes very uncomfortable with following it through, and insists on making the death as merciful as possible.
  • No Full Name Given: Only ever referred to as Loona, her foster name. Whether or not she took Blitzo's last name is dubious, but it's entirely possible that he also forwent his father's name.
  • Non-Action Snarker: Initially played straight, but becomes zig-zagged by "Truth Seekers". Loona's job keeps her out of combat most days, not that it stops her from sharing her opinions on everyone else who does the dirty work. However, when things get serious, she's brought out as a last resort, and can definitely hold her own.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: She stands out compared to her coworkers, with a contrasting color-scheme, unmatched height, and the fact that she's basically a humanoid wolf. She does however, share several design quirks with the newly employed Stolas, an even taller anthropmorphised Goetia.
  • The Nose Knows: Quite fittingly for a hellhound, she has an incredibly keen sense of smell, with it being so strong, she's able to sniff a list of names and immediately pinpoint every person on the list in an Aura Vision way.
  • No Social Skills: Her foul temper and emotional issues mean she has a lot of trouble interacting with people. Even when Tex invites her to a party to make friends, she frequently comes close to biting people's heads off for the smallest things even when it's Tex or Bee being genuinely kind to her. Even when Bee asks her to check up on Blitzo, Loona is spoiling for a fight.
  • Now Allowed to Hug: A textbook example occurs in "Seeing Stars" where Octavia, after being comforted by Loona over her relationship with her dad and bonding with her over dads who doesn't get parenting right, hugs her as thanks, and Loona's only reaction is to pat her on the back with a small smile. While she's bluntly not there with Blitzo yet in the same episode, she extends to him in "Mastermind" after his Heroic Sacrifice.
  • Now That's Using Your Teeth!: Catches a thrown sickle in her teeth mid leap in 'Truth Seekers', complete with a Slo-Mo shot.
  • Older Than They Look: Loona looks and acts like an angsty teen, but was almost 18 when Blitzo adopted her, and is currently 22. Of course, this is in Hell years, making her age in human years a bit more ambiguous.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: Allegedly threw up at a Hellhound party, earning her the nickname 'Lunatic Loona' and still remembered when she tries to make a comeback at Bee's party.
  • One-Woman Army:
    • In "Truth Seekers", she's shown to be even more deadly in close combat than Millie, taking out dozens of government agents mostly using her claws and teeth. This only makes sense; as a hellhound, she's larger, stronger, and more durable than any imp. She's also shown to be proficient with both melee and ranged weapons; racking up an impressive body count with both the Japanese Edo-period weapons taken from D.H.O.R.K.S agents, as well as firearms she and Millie brought with them for the mission. This makes her possibly the most capable combatant of the entire IMP crew.
    • Somewhat downplayed in "The Full Moon". While she still battles competently, because the cherubs were backed up by DHORKS' mech suits this made Collin a more even match for her, causing her to find cover until Millie neutralizes Collin.
  • One-Winged Angel: In "Sinsmas" she transforms into a quadrupedal wolf large enough for imps to ride on with two pairs of secondary eyes.
  • OOC Is Serious Business:
    • Even after her Character Development, Loona still generally acts rather aloof and snarky. As such, the moments Loona is openly soft and empathetic are often a blatant sign the situation has become very sensitive or personal.
    • A reactive case. She often walks all over Blitz, and even after their growing bond post-"Mastermind", she remains rather sassy around him. The rare times Blitzo finally loses patience with Loona however often leave her rather cowed, implying his approval means a lot more to her than she lets on. In "Mission: Orphan Time" in particular she is left meekly negotiating with Blitzo due to wanting to show mercy on Mr. Wrigglers, aware her adoptive father is getting aggravated at her stalling her first assassination.
  • Our Werewolves Are Different: While she's actually a Hellhound, she has a few traits that reference werewolves on some way. Such as her name being a pun on "lunar" and having the ability to assume human form. "Sinsmas" shows that she has a dire wolf form as well.
  • Out of Focus: Despite having equal prominence alongside the imps during the pilot, Loona was far less prominent in the first season. "Spring Broken", "Truth Seekers", and "Queen Bee" all gave her more focus, but she was otherwise treated as a secondary character that appears during the office scenes and is absent otherwise. Season two's dedicated focus on Blitzo's relationships with Stolas and Fizzarolli made this worse, with Loona having minimal roles outside non-speaking cameos early on. Downplayed in the latter half of the season, where Loona appears more consistently and even gains more Character Development.
  • Parental Title Characterization: Throughout the early series, Loona only ever referred to Blitzo by his first name, refusing to acknowledge him as her adoptive father. A couple occasions she slipped out "Dad" however, showing she was starting to warm to him. This is signified in "Mastermind" where, after Blitzo nearly got executed to protect her, she immediately belts out a tearful "Dad!" upon reuniting with him. Though she still refers to him as "Blitz" on occasions she is being sassy, she openly calls him "Dad" more frequently, showing the growth in their bond.
  • Perpetual Frowner: Loona is typically depicted with a scowl and appears quite lethargic; however, there are still plenty of moments when she does crack a smile.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • She's genuinely touched when Blitzo calls her family. She also attends the after-party in the first episode of the series proper after the target is killed, and has a smile on her face the whole time.
    • In "Truth Seekers", she shows empathy towards Millie after they have to leave Blitzo and Moxxie behind in the human world. She even tries to ask if she is okay.
    • In "Queen Bee", it's revealed that Loona actually does call Blitzo "dad", both in public and private. While the first time was more in response to a brief emotional high that Blitzo himself couldn't hear, the second instance was right to his face in the most tender tone she could manage.
    • In "Seeing Stars", despite being angry with Blitzo, she ultimately decides to find Octavia as he requested for her to do. She's also immensely gentle and friendly with Octavia when she does finally find her.
    • In "Ghostf**ckers" she agrees to watch over Moxxie in Millie and Blitzo's absence. When Moxxie nearly has a mental breakdown dealing with their tax sheets, Loona calms him by putting him on the sofa in front of the TV to mellow out.
    • In "Mission: Orphan Time", after finding out their target is a sincerely good-willed man and adoptive father to multiple children, Loona dithers pulling the trigger, and quickly appeases his last request of saying goodbye to all his kids. Realising Mr. Wrigglers' gracefulness to go out, Loona attempts to give him a peaceful death... only to botch it horribly by accidentally shooting him.
  • Phoneaholic Teenager: While her age was originally unknown — she's officially been stated as being 22 according to Word of God — she looks like a teenager and Moxxie mentions that Blitzo treats her like one. In any case, Loona is frequently more busy with her cellphone than properly attending meetings in the pilot episode, listening to Blitzo's plan to win a bet in "Spring Broken", or hearing Blitzo whistle for help in "The Harvest Moon Festival". Even when she is paying attention, Loona nearly always has her cell phone in her hand.
  • Professional Slacker: Despite how utterly she refuses to take her job seriously, she remains on the payroll in part due to Blitzo's love for her. This isn't incompetence on her part, and when she wants to, she proves herself to be very capable; she just rarely wants to.
  • Protectorate: Blitzo is incredibly protective of Loona. While this generally only came through in comedic or embarrassing ways for most of the early series, in "Mastermind", it is this that makes Loona realises just to what level Blitzo loves her, Taking the Heat for her and the rest of I.M.P. in court so he will be executed while they will be spared.
Blitzo: [to Moxxie, voice quavering] Just....Just take care of Loona for me.
    [Loona gives tearful Puppy-Dog Eyes]
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: She has blood-red sclera, switching to blood-red irises when in her human disguise, contrasting the Yellow Eyes of Sneakiness the imps have, and she's also the most Jerkass and emotionally volatile among the group.
  • Sassy Secretary: She's the sassy receptionist of I.M.P who is constantly faxing Moxxie weight loss flyers, eating his lunch, and generally not doing much. She's quite happy to hand the job over to Stolas in "Sinsmas", telling him straight it's barely even work. Amusingly, even in the midst of a mental breakdown, Stolas doesn't do much more incompetently than Loona's usual effort.
  • Savage Wolves: A hellhound from Hell who works for an assassin company and is shown to be quite the temperamental jerk. This is especially prominent when she finally is shown fighting in "Truth Seekers", as the way she fights is more like a ferocious animal who knows how to use weapons, such as wielding a Sickle Between Her Teeth to slash with the blade and whip with the chain, along with biting through people directly, all while snarling like a mad dog.
  • Sexy Secretary: She's a receptionist with a relatively curvaceous body, being attractive enough that the first time she went on a job to act as a Honey Trap, she easily lured in numerous men and women.
  • Shaking the Rump: She’s done this in at least two instances:
    • In the pilot episode, she wiggles her bottom while rummaging through the fridge in I.M.P’s office, which is shown in close-up from the side.
    • In "The Full Moon", she briefly shakes her butt to taunt Colin of C.H.E.R.U.B. about getting their asses kicked before by the imps, which is shown from a suggestive angle.
  • Shapeshifting Excludes Clothing: Played With. Her crop-top and shorts visibly tear when she transforms into her "Dire" form.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: "Queen Bee" has her wearing a gorgeous red dress that, when combined with her already-attractive nature, grabs the attention of several male hellhounds.
  • Shoo Out the Clowns:
    • In "OZZIE'S", she gets invited to a party by Vortex, leaving Blitzo all alone during the episode's Downer Ending.
    • Inverted in "Seeing Stars": the entire main cast is shooed out over the course of the episode so Loona alone can have a heartfelt conversation with Octavia.
  • Short Teens, Tall Adults: Subverted and Inverted. She comes off acting like a teenager to those unaware of her actual age (22), yet she's the tallest member of I.M.P due to being a hellhound among a company of imps, at least until Stolas is employed into I.M.P., who towers above even her.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: She seems to enjoy getting under Moxxie's skin, most often by claiming he's fat. They lean a little more into Vitriolic Best Buds territory after her Character Development.
  • The Slacker: One who still keeps her secretarial job, but rarely actually goes out killing.
  • Small Parent, Huge Child: Loona towers over all of her fellow imp crewmates at I.M.P, including her adoptive father, Blitzo.
  • Sour Outside, Sad Inside: Both Blitzo and herself state that she's "sensitive" — which might have some merit given her genuine anger when Eddie states he won't talk to her because he's a cat person, whereas before she only seemed to be capable of expressing general apathy.
  • Spikes of Villainy: She's a Villain Protagonist whose accessories include a spiked collar.
  • Statuesque Stunner: A tall, attractive hellhound with toned legs and broad hips.
  • Stealth Pun: She offers her father a hangover remedy after his intense partying. Drinking more alcohol to cure a hangover is called "hair of the dog."
  • Stocking Filler: She wears a pair of dark gray thigh-high stockings as a part of her already revealing Fanservice-y outfit.
  • Supermodel Strut: Some of her walking animations has her swaying her hips side to side.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: Loona had a tendency to very awkwardly and oddly deny, clarify, or otherwise deflect what her relationship with Blitzo is like, since she hates showing affection, or at least hates the idea that people will get the impression that she cares about her adoptive father.
    • Refers to Blitzo as "dad" in one post on her Instagram. When Blitzo takes notice, she responds by insisting that it was a "stupid typo".
    • When Blitzo returns home from being kidnapped, she insists that the only reason she was worried was that they were running out of food in the house.
    • When Blitzo introduces Loona as his daughter in "The Harvest Moon Festival", Loona quickly adds "only on paper", after looking around frantically with Wide Eyes and Shrunken Irises.
    • During "Queen Bee", Loona quickly identifies herself as Blitzo's adopted daughter, while looking very embarrassed.
  • Sword and Fist: When she gets to fight all out in "Truth Seekers", she shows that her preferred fighting style combines animalistic Bare-Fisted Monk moves like punching and biting with skillful use of various sharp weaponry like blades, axes, and sickles.
  • Tail Slap: Against her own father in 'Western Energy' during their fight where he tries to get her to take her Hellbies shot.
  • Through a Face Full of Fur: She can be seen blushing after she bumps into Vortex in "Spring Broken", despite being in her furry hellhound form at the time.
  • Token Minority: Of the 'Minority Species' variety, being the only Hellhound on an all-Imp team.
  • Took a Level in Cheerfulness: As the series progressed, she has smiled more often, and has become less abrasive and violent.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: After the events of "Mastermind", Loona is more openly affectionate with Blitzo, calling him "dad" without issue, and showing concern for him when he shows doubts over completing their latest assignment. She also has no problem including Millie and Moxxie when she plays a game with her friends.
  • Tough Spikes and Studs: She dresses in a large collar-like choker with spikes, matching her sharp fangs.
  • Troll: Faxes Moxxie an ad to a weight loss program for seemingly no reason other than to insult him. She also makes similar comments on his weight on Instagram.
  • Tsundere: A parental variation; she's Happily Adopted by Blitzo, but doesn't like showing it. She refuses to call him "Dad", and the one time she did on Instagram, she insisted that it was because they were running low on food. Here are some other examples:
    • In "Spring Broken", she almost calls him "Dad" but catches herself.
Blitzo: Aw, you look perfect, Loonie, as always!
Loona: Shut up, Da— ugh! Blitz!
    • In "Seeing Stars" when Blitzo tries to hug her, she smacks him in the face with the grimoire, though she does have a small smile on her face.
    • After she agrees to watch over Moxxie while Millie and Blitzo are "ghost"-hunting, Millie gives her a sincere "Thank you, Loona". While she briefly gets flustered over this, Loona quickly scowls that Millie shouldn't get used to it.
  • Ultimate Job Security: Justified. Everyone, Blitzo included, realizes she's an awful secretary, but he has too much of a soft spot for her to actually risk her position.
  • Unanthropomorphic Transformation: "Sinsmas" reveals she has a much larger feral wolf form she can tap into at will.
  • Underboobs: Occasionally, in her human form, side views of her show that her ripped top doesn't quite reach all the way down. Never enough for anything explicit, but just enough to show the underside of her bust with the right angle.
  • Underestimating Badassery: When confronting CHERUB in "Full Moon", she gleefully menaces Collin and gloats how dumb it was for them to come for a second asskicking. Despite being scared out of his mind and only half Loona's size, Collin's Powered Armor allows him to slowly overpower Loona, leaving her cornered until Millie drops Cletus on top of Collin.
  • Ungrateful Bitch: Has shades of this. At one point, she angrily yells at Blitzo that she didn't need him back when he was adopted and doesn't need him now. Considering how most hounds end up as pets or in pounds, it seems she doesn't fully appreciate what he did for her. It's a bit subverted by the time of "Seeing Stars" where she explains to Octavia that it matters a lot when dads try to be there for their kids even when they fail; this, however, doesn't stop her from kicking Blitzo in the groin when he rushes at her, telling her how sorry he is for what he said earlier in the episode.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: In "Full Moon," she offhandedly tells Blitzo that Stolas giving him a break from their booty calls is a sign that the Goetia is getting bored of him. It's not said out of malice and her reasoning isn't without merit, but it does put Blitzo on his guard which, along with Stolas' less-than-tactful approach to trying to redefine their relationship, leads to Blitzo melting down and their fall out.
  • Vague Age: Moxxie compares her to a teenager at one point, and she certainly acts like one, but it's not clear if she actually is one. Her being an anthropomorphic hellhound only muddies the waters further. In "Spring Broken" she says she was "almost 18" when Blitzo adopted her, implying she's in her late teens or early twenties, but her actual age is never stated. According to an interview, she's 22 years old, although that is in hell years, which can be and often are radically different to Earth years.
  • Vapor Wear: She doesn't seem to be wearing anything under the tattered crop top she usually wears. Her human disguise, however, has a small top underneath.
  • Victoria's Secret Compartment: While vacating their building in "MASTERMIND", Loona grabs a photo from their first outing together and stuffs it in her bra.
  • Visual Pun: It is rather natural that the female hellhound is often a bitch.
  • What You Are in the Dark: In "Seeing Stars", when Octavia is stranded in the living world and Loona is the only one who can find her, she chooses to blow off the mission and wanders around Los Angeles alone instead, on her phone with some coffee. However, she sees several Sinstagram posts from Octavia, revealing she's nearby. Loona could have easily pretended she never saw them and go on her way, and no one would know. But after a moment of hesitation, she throws the coffee away and tries to track down Octavia in earnest.
  • When She Smiles:
    • Loona is usually scowling or frowning, but she does manage a small, surprisingly sweet smile when Blitzo insists she's family and they don't get rid of family at I.M.P while listening to Moxxie's complaints.
    • There's also this selfie after Blitzo bought her a bacon-flavored boba tea.
    • She lets out a few adorably goofy smiles when interacting with Vortex, who she's smitten with.
    • In the sneak peek for "Queen Bee", she has what might just be her sweetest smile yet.
    • She gives a heartwarmingly wholesome smile while talking with Octavia at the observatory about how their dads are doing their best for them, in spite of their flaws.
    • After her defrosting in "Mastermind", she is prone to several genuinely warm smiles around Blitzo, particularly when hugging him and telling him she loves him after they escape the trial.
  • Wide Eyes and Shrunken Irises: Spends nearly the entirety of 'Western Energy' with these, uncharacteristically frazzled from having to go to the vet.
  • Wolf Man: A very lupine-appearing anthropomorphic Hellhound.
  • Womanchild: Despite being confirmed to be in her early-twenties (in Hell years that is), Loona's personality is that of a moody, irritable and angsty goth teenager, often reacting poorly when receiving criticism while going out of her way to bully those that are considered "weaker" (like Moxxie for example). Taken up to an extreme during "Western Energy" where her fear of needles made her behave like a nervous puppy when waiting for her Hellbies shot, requiring Blitzo's reassurance. Perhaps justified given what we seen of her past, as it's implied that growing up in an Orphanage of Fear causes her to be emotionally stemmed and from acting like her age.
  • Women Prefer Strong Men: Her attraction to Tex, obviously muscular and physically attractive.
  • The Worf Effect: Downplayed. While she and I.M.P. still win the battle, CHERUB instantly demonstrate their Mid-Season Upgrade in "The Full Moon" by being the first opponent Loona struggles against and takes injuries from. She fails to overpower Collin in particular, who manages to blast her shoulder and has her cornered until Millie throws Cletus onto him. She still gets the honour of kicking their asses back into DHORKS' hideout however.
Loona: (smugly) You have a lot of nerve coming to our neighborhood after the ass-kicking you took last time.
Cletus: A lot of nerve, and a lot of upgrades, MUTT! (extends arm and sucker punches Loona)
  • Would Hurt a Child: She vents her frustration in the pilot by kicking an imp baby carriage into the sky. She also doesn't have any compunctions about killing children if that's what the client wants, since their innocence can be questionable.
  • You Are Fat: Repeatedly and derogatorily finds ways to call Moxxie fat, even when completely unrelated to the current situation (and very visibly untrue).
  • You're Not My Father: In "Spring Broken", Loona angrily tells Blitzo, "You're not my real dad", and mentions she was "almost eighteen" when he adopted her. Loona refuses to call Blitzo "Dad" and insists it was a mistake when she did so on Instagram. In "Spring Broken", she catches herself and calls him "Blitzo" instead. In Season 1, she calls him "Dad" only twice during "Queen Bee": once in excitement when Blitzo wins a drinking contest, and once when comforting him about his fear of dying alone. In Season 2, Loona becomes more affectionate, calling him "Dad" multiple times in "Mastermind". She sobs when Blitzo is nearly executed and calls him "Dad" while hugging him after he is spared. Upon their return home with a stripped Stolas, she expresses relief and affection, hugging Blitzo and telling him she loves him.
  • Your Size May Vary: Prior to Stolas joining the organization, Loona is clearly the tallest member of I.M.P. Depending on shot however, this ranges anywhere between being almost twice Blitzo's height to barely being a head taller than him.

    The New Receptionist (UNMARKED SPOILERS!)

Stolas

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stolas_as_receiptionist.jpg
"Hello? I.M.P? Yes, we can kill your asshole!"

A former Goetia Prince taking the form of a long-legged owl and the one who initially granted I.M.P permission to use his magical Grimoire in exchange for Blitzo having sex with him every night of the full moon. When I.M.P are caught by Hell's authorities due to their illegal past use of the Grimoire, Stolas sacrifices himself and fabricates a lie that it was he who was really behind I.M.P and their use of the book.

For his crimes, he is stripped of his rank, powers, riches, and privileges and banished to live amongst the imps he once looked down upon for one hundred years as a consequence. With absolutely no money and having to resort to living with Blitzo to find a decent roof, Stolas finds a job at I.M.P as their new receptionist. The abrupt change in his living situation and loss of custody over his daughter have left the former prince a depressed shell hung up on the selfish decisions that led him to his current state.
