Gnorts VS The Greylenoids!
It's late into another Sunday stream and Vinny is up once again playing bad games. Nothing seems out of the ordinary- but just before calling it a night, his alien sidekick Gnorts is getting a bad feeling. Before long, a dreadful grey figure would emerge from the static...

Now you'll have to take control of Gnorts as he dives head-first into the terrible digital world of Grey Leno and help him put an end to his twisted show once and for all.
- Experience fast-paced and brutally difficult gameplay as you blast your way across a sprawling 2.5D dimension overrun with hordes of Grey Leno's mutant clones.
- Run, double-jump, shoot, and bomb through droves of enemies and a final boss fight with gameplay reminiscent of Earthworm Jim, Metal Slug, and Contra.
- Fantastic original artwork and character designs by Loopsdaloop.
- Rocking Genesis-style soundtrack composed by the amazing BassClefff.
- Full controller support (and recommended)

From the developer:
Thanks so much for checking out our submission to ShroomJam 2025! This was my first time making something for the jam, and it was a blast. I've been wanting to make a beefy 2.5 side-scrolling shoot-em-up for some time now (as well as a proper Vinesauce fan game), and being a part of ShroomJam was a great inspiration. Big thanks to BassClefff and Loopsdaloop for their tremendous help on art and music! Hope you enjoy the game and can't wait to catch the stream.

wonderful game!
this game is so nostalgic
Fantastic game, with a great retro PS1 feel.
I would recommend getting rid of the built-in controller code, because the current input model is as coercive as can be, and the results aren't pretty.

I ran a test in which 3 controllers were plugged in. I was hoping that (perhaps) the Xbox One or Atari controller would "absorb the imposed controller layout". But.... they didn't. The game forces its layout on all 3 controllers, so I can't create a JoyToKey profile for any of them.
Love it
Does anybody know if it would work if i connect ps3 controller
See above.
Thank you
i don't quite get how this happens, but I have a cheap pad from Esperanza, it's mapping is not reported as standard, but it's almost standard. the shape keys are in wrong order, but that's not a problem... however the R2 or what you call it is sending right signal according to gamepad tester online, yet in the game it causes PAUSE. the only way to shoot I found so far is by clicking left mouse button...
The game is great, the animation is amazing! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
it's amazing. you definitely should release it on steam and consoles
Love the games, is there any way I can contact you? I have a few questions on the development
Hi HorseFish- Thanks! I am currently not available for development questions unfortunately. I see you have some interesting games on your page- I really like the look of Judgement of Atlantis. Best of luck with your future projects!
Kick butt!

wonderful game!
Best PS1 platformer game that wasn't, period!
This game is amazing, I played it with my xbox controller and the movement is peak, I loved the idea and the feel of the game, the boss fight at the end was tuff but I was able to collect extra lifes and beat the game, 10 out of 10
Thank you, bigcock!
i love this!
wonderful game!
That music is totally Amiga ... where did you get that module?
Surprisingly great. lol
this is ridiculous how did you do this in a week? amazing work wow
Lots of free time and long sleepless nights :')
cant make the jump up by the first video tape on keyboard in web version. literally double jumping and dashing for 10 minutes cant clear enough height to advance level. not bad just unable.
Weird, first I'm hearing of this. It's a bit of a height, but should definitely be possible if you time your double jump at the height of your single jump at that part. Not sure what could be going on unless it's something going on with your specific browser
I lost to the boss fight, and now I am mad >:( . Cool game.
Don't let Grey Leno beat you!
Very good, I liked the joystick support and the fact that you can also use the keyboard and shoot with the mouse. Shooting with the mouse feels like a real shooter. And most importantly, being able to play directly in the browser without downloading anything is spectacular.
As a fellow Vinesauce fan, I had to do a double take when I saw this in my feed. Great job as always Sodaraptor! I can't wait to see Vinny play this
Cannot download via itch.io app
My PS4 or Switch controllers didn't seem to play nice with it (mapping was all messed up) but I'm able to use them through Parsec so I'll give that another shot later!
What I did play with Keyboard and Mouse though was incredible! The vibe is perfect, and that intro really sells it too!
NICE RETRO
Definitely a very cool side scroller shooter! I do think the game should let you run and shoot if you hold down the shoot button like in Metal Slug instead of making you sit still, and I feel like going back to the pistol after you're further in the level is a bit rough.
first jump's downwards velocity doesn't reset after touching ground.
the keyboard controls are really rough. it's worth a day's work to chuck in code for custom keybinds.
