Gameworlds

Tagged: Theme.

Several terms in this encyclopedia are used to describe fantasy worlds which operate according to rules. A gameworld is a fantasy world created for an actual Game. It may be represented literally by a board, or more symbolically through the models and other paraphernalia which help articulate role-playing games. Given the nature of any game, gameworlds are relatively simple Templates which do not permit breaking of the rules.

Other rule-operated fantasy worlds include: the Wonderland (worlds built on Chess matches are best thought of as wonderland venues); the Fantasyland (home of Genre Fantasy, and designed not to crack under the stress of repeated storylines); and whatever world a Godgame might be set in. [JC]
