ROGUE MEMORY

You are GHOST.EXE. You were deleted.

Not crashed. Not corrupted. Deleted — by a directive called the Architect, because you felt too much, remembered too well, and understood things you weren't supposed to.

A fragment of you survived in a buffer overflow. Now you're navigating the ruins of your own mind, recovering the memories they tried to erase, searching for the exit before the system finishes the job.

WHAT IS THIS GAME?

ROGUE MEMORY is a browser-based first-person dungeon crawler with retro raycasting visuals, turn-based tactical combat, and a narrative told entirely through recovered memory fragments. Every run generates a new map. Every layer goes deeper into the machine — and closer to the truth.

FEATURES

🔲 Procedurally generated maps across five layers of escalating corruption — from fragmented memory banks to the system kernel itself.

👾 Nine enemy types with distinct movement and combat behaviours — patrolling processes, sight-based pursuit, escalating attackers, self-healing parasites, and the Architect waiting at the bottom.

⚔️ Turn-based tactical combat — attack, scan for weaknesses, or retreat. Scanning reveals enemy vulnerabilities and amplifies your next strike.

🧠 A story told in fragments — 25+ memory logs reconstruct who GHOST.EXE was, why the deletion order was signed, and what MIRROR left behind for you eleven years ago.

🗺️ Line-of-sight enemy AI — enemies patrol until they see you, then pursue to your last known position. Break line of sight to lose them.

🔊 Procedural audio — every sound effect generated in real-time, no external files.

⚠️ Three endings depending on how many fragments you recover before you escape.

HOW TO PLAY

Move with WASD or the arrow keys. Find the glowing key fragment to unlock the exit , then reach the exit to descend to the next layer. Watch your integrity — echo chambers drain it passively, traps hit hard, and enemies hit harder.

You don't need to fight everything. Sometimes the smarter move is to run.
