Iron

First in a monthly series of postcard-sized wargames, Iron!

Inspired by the battle of Hampton roads between the USS Monitor and CSS Virginia, 1862, the game is to simulate the inconclusive exchange between the two warships over the span of six turns. Your objective is to disable your opponent or cause as much damage as possible in the allotted time.

As the Monitor you have a high degree of protection with simply being small. The twin turreted monitor allows you to blast your opponent, but to do the right damage you need to get a matching result when attacking your opponent. You have nimbleness on your side and a revolving turret to move one direction and attack in another.

As the Ironclad you have weapons facing in all directions, but you'll struggle to land a hit on the venerable Monitor's lone exposed turret. Can you weather the assault long enough to land that disabling hit?

This is untested as of now, but I wanted the release to coincide with the date of the battle, which is today 7:00am EST!
