Update on Bloodstone's future
First of all: thank you. I put a symbolic goal of 50 dollars for this sale, to confirm that people are still in love with the game. And you answered in less than 24 hours.
So, I think it's time to address the situation and the future of the project.
Because the project was silent
I worked so hard in the past 2 years to bring the game in physical form. I talked with publishers, and we had a plan. But life happens, and the project is not ready yet. We'll try harder in 2026, but I cannot say more than this at this time (I don't like to promise something I'm not sure of at 100%).
Anyway, working on this physical edition put the game on pause - for more time than I initially thought. Also, put me under a lot of mental stress.
But now, I want to go back to the project with full enthusiasm.
The future
In 2026, I want to release more stuff for the game. And, because I don't like to promise something without being sure I can do it for sure, you can trust the (small) list below as a starting point. Maybe I can do more, but these are certain things I will do:
- A scenario/adventure: the map is only a taste of the new stuff we can do in Bloodstone when the Apostoles are involved. New hunts, full of dangers and challenges, are awaiting the brave hunters.
- Deeper class system: I think we can give more love to the character's personalization, without adding complexity to the game.
- Solo mode: rules to play the game in solo mode. I never designed a solo game, BUT I have a lot of friends who did in the past, and I will stalk them to the death to ask for help (yep, I'm talking to you René-Pier).
- A fantasy spin-off: I'm a huge fan of the From Software games (you don't say :D), and I want to bring this game format to Elden Ring-style. The spin-off will be a separate game, but fully compatible with Bloodstone (so you can interchange characters, elements, etc.). When I launch this project, I want to find a way to give a special price for those who already have Bloodstone.
Thank you again,
Matteo
p.s. because we already reached the goal, I added 120 community copies. Anyone who wants to try the game can do so. I appreciate if you support the game, but I love more if you play it, no matter what.

Very curious about the Solo mode !
Even more so since I've been trying to use your game to make a Vagrant Story emulator ^^'
Happy you're still working on this... love your work. Thank you !!
Ah, the Solo Mode is really interesting to design. Luckily, I can study Ironsworn :D
Any chance for updates so the game is suitable for longer campaigns too, Matteo? Because as far as i know, Bloodstone is one of the best ttrpg that replicates souls-like game experiences.
In one of the next updates, I will add a full scenario (a different "hunt"), and I think there will be the space to add rules to link more than one hunts - basically, a campaign with episodic "style" (like, Supernatural or Buffy serie tv).
I'm so glad that you're still working on Bloodstone, i've been playing it a whole lot since i got it, it might seem silly but i really like it and it pushed me towards getting into designing my own stuff, so i'm very grateful. I can't wait to see all you come up with as time goes on, good luck on 2026! I'll definitely keep an eye out.
Thank you so much for your words. They mean a lot to me.
