About

Kirigiri Execution, also known as Danganronpa Execution, is a bad ending from the 2010 video game Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. The execution is called "After School Lesson." This ending reveals that the character Kyoko Kirigiri has been executed, and it is a bad ending route. In February 2026, it became a meme format in which meme creators used it to express dread or portray impending doom via text captions alongside background music that featured a Thomas the Tank Engine remix of "Thick of It" by KSI (called "Thick of it Thomas the train remix extended music").

Origin

The scene used in the meme comes from chapter 5 of the 2010 video game Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. During the trial, the character Kyoko Kirigiri was wrongly accused because the evidence was manipulated. As a result, she was executed and died.

On March 19th, 2025, YouTube user SixtyCargp posted a "Thick of It" by KSI remix featuring Thomas the Tank Engine, which received over 2.1 million views and 81,000 likes in a year.[1] The song later became incorporated into many of the meme edits featuring Kirigiri.
