What if Arthur, suddenly one day, had his arm change? And let's also say, that, hypothetically of course, he was in a war, and then he was like, recruited into this Company of sorts. And what if he had glasses and a ponytail, and he changed his name to Gregor Samsa, I think that'd be pretty cool.
This theory is based on the "bad" ending of the Elizabeth storyline
What happened to Elizabeth's father and some idk
We all know that Elizabeth's mother is harsh, cold, demanding and have high expectations for her and specifically want the girl to do the trial since she failed and have Elizabeth.
In the "bad" ending, it is said that after doing the union of flesh. Elizabeth become just like her mother or something and is pregnant with Arthur child.
In the end, the question is: would the cycle repeat itself?
Now we all know that the trial required both male and female to goes in together so.
What if Elizabeth's mother did the same and also done the union of the flesh and got impregnated by Elizabeth's father.
For the entire game, we never see any other male other than Arthur himself and Elizabeth's mom always threaten Elizabeth with reporting Arthur as a man to the elven and who knows.
What happened to Elizabeth's father? Most definitely in my theory is that he was taken by the elf and got lock up or experimented on or executed
But why would Elizabeth's mom threaten to do such things to Arthur if she had been in Elizabeth's position before?
Of course, I understand that Annie's inability to talk to other souls was leaked for no reason. But despite the fact that Maeve was not sure at the first meeting that Arthur would be humanoid, it still suggests that men are at least alien to this world. And that's the whole point of the game, that Arthur is the only male in the magical world, you can't just merge that.
Then I'll also put forward my theory: "Where the dragons live"
My theory is that women live on a vast continent surrounded by an ocean, believing that this is the whole world. But in fact, on the other side of the planet there is the same continent where only men live, also unaware of the existence of women. And in the core of the planet, hollow creatures called "dragons" live, preventing the inhabitants of the continents from learning about each other and feeding on donations from followers, whose patrons they are. (The owl god, whose idol we see in Agnes' store, is one of those dragons.)
That theory from Daily dose of cats yesterday gave me my own idea for a theory on why men aren't in the magic realm, or rather, why we find none in the places we can visit.
I will fork off of Ddoc's theory with the gendered segregation, however I think that instead of the men and women going to war, the men were all brought over to the Elves. We already saw that Elena is desperate to bring over any and all magic folk she can to the world of machinery, and from the little lore sprinkled throughout the games dialogue, you find out that basically all Elves are like that. And I believe that they began with the men of magic because they are way easier to bring over. What did they use for that? Idk maybe Elfkind invented Legos or something.
So what I'm saying is that the men aren't gone, and neither are they dead. They're just in the one place that was promised to them as eternal heaven which is the same place that has been entirely unaccessible to us.
But that's just a theory. A MAEVE THEORY! Thanks for reading.
The reason why there are no men in the magic realm is the main question of the game (apart from questioning how to crack molly-bot). My belief is that there were men in the lands, however they practiced a much different kinds of magic than women, something like men being wizards while women are witches. Because of that the past society of magic lands was heavily gender segregated, to the point where men and women barely considered each other the same speacies. Practicing magic differenty means there were a lot of conflicts between the genders for the "correct" way of doing magic. However, when all of the fighting and rivaly came to the boiling point, men and women went to a full fledged Magical War. As you could already tell, women were victorious, but in the blind rage rulers of the time decided to destroy all men that remaind after the War to not let something like this happens ever again. The one that weren't killed had to either go hidding indefinetly or try to blend in with the women. In conclusion, I believe that there are no men in the magic lands because:
Either you have done everything you can currently in this version, or you haven't, in which case you should look at the quest book that will tell you where to go and what to do
Except for Elizabeth, whose quests are detailed in her own character screen

The trial changed her of course.
Well that's my theory
