Welcome to Rule of Carnage Jam #2! This Jam is designed to get people designing miniature games during the long winter slog.
The theme this time is: GREEN or GREEN JAM!
What do you think of when you think of the colour GREEN? How do you interpret it?
Put your GREEN elf (alien, orc, goblin, gnome, gremlin, etc.) cap on, and give it a think.
1. The game MUST be about the colour or concept of GREEN, in some way.
You might make a miniatures game about greenskins; you might make it about inexperienced, GREEN soldiers or GREEN plastic army toys. Perhaps it's about plants, the environment, recycling, upcycling, radiation, or something gross like boogers and slime. If you are feeling a little festive, you can even do something holiday-related.
2. The game MUST be accessible and easy to learn, as if you are teaching a family member, friend, or someone new (or GREEN) to miniature games.
I know it's a busy time, which is why there is such a long window to participate in this Jam, with the holiday season and family obligations—but after that, it is a long, dreary stretch until spring.
The good thing about the holiday season and family obligations is that it brings together great people to playtest with.
A length or time restriction seems too limiting, so instead, the second challenge of the Jamis that your game MUST be easy to learn, as if you're teaching a family member, friend, or someone new (or GREEN) to miniature games.
Participants have until February 11th to submit a miniature game to the GREEN JAM that engages with the theme in some way.
The participants’ game MUST be publicly accessible at least for the duration of the Jam and voting period.
A miniatures game should feature miniatures in some way, but the definition of what a miniatures game is not concrete; try to be innovative. A solely card-based game is not a miniature game.
Paper miniatures are acceptable.
Participants’ submissions can be new game projects, but they are encouraged to start a new one. Using the Jamto complete a work-in-progress project is fine too, as long as it fits the theme and meets the requirements.
The goal of the GREEN JAM is to improve one’s skills, get inspired, finish something of their own, and most importantly, have fun (perhaps with family and friends).
Participants can work on their own or in a team.
Multiple entries from participants are welcome.
All submissions remain the property of their creators.
An explanation of how the theme of GREEN coloured (inspired) the participants’ project and how the game is accessible to new players is required; this can be presented in a simple blurb, a paragraph, or several paragraphs.
