Well... I thought I was doing something wrong. Then I watched the video and realized the game really is boring. The dude has a sword in the screenshots, but it seems like I have to endure too much boredom to get it. The art is beautiful. But the level design it's fail...

I wish I could write something more pleasant for you. I just don't appreciate the hypocritical, fake feedback for trying to promote a submission, as always happens at jams.

Good luck.

The character animations are super nice, the jump especially looks great, and the sprites overall have a lot of charm. The music fits the vibe too, it gives it that little adventure feeling.

I found the sword so I'm super proud of that lol. The idea of grabbing the guidebooks while dodging stuff works, and it felt satisfying whenever I made progress without getting smacked.

For a jam platformer, this is a solid start, and the visuals really stand out. Nice work getting it all put together as a solo dev.

Very good choice of assets. I really like the music too. Fun little platformer. Some collision issues with the coins at times, and a temperamental camera that makes the game difficult. But it was fun, good job!

It's a bit unpleasant that at the start of the game you immediatly fall onto an enemy, but overall, the music is cool and the graphics are nice, well done.

Game is brutal, you get spawned right into enemy and there are some bugs like getting stuck on walls when moving towards them, but it's a nice platformer start i guess. Seems like the game was made for graphics more than functionality, but it's not bad based on deadline time and dev count

Making a platformer is hard, I think that the game need more gamefeel and polish as other comments said. It has a good world building.

The basic mechanics are functional, but the game is missing some general polish... Things like unresponsive hitboxes for the coins, inconsistent camera movement, getting stuck on slopes, etc. add up and detract from the overall experience. Still, I imagine you were constrained by the game jam's timeline, especially as a solo developer. What you've completed here is still impressive, and I hope you learned a lot in the process!

I just played your game and want to share my personal opinion.
What I like—visuals and level design are implemented nicely. All of that is fitting the theme as well, so that's a good job.
What I didn't like - the level design in terms of player progression. What I mean by that is we should never make players spawn on top of the enemy—it does minus 30% to the game perception. The number of enemies at the very beginning of the platformer game is inappropriate. As it was mentioned, collisions are a bit bugged, but it is fine, I can deal with that.

It is a fine project if you are a beginner. So if you are, then good job!

Visual is cool but there is some collisions problems. Otherwise it's pretty funny, great job.
