How does your game represent "Slick"?
You play as a computer virus with sandbox-esque combat designed to make you feel slick

As a guy on a laptop with a trackpad, this game is definitely not made for me xD, BUT I still found myself enjoying it a good bunch! The super is quite overpowered, and is basically what carried me as far as it did, really polished game with cool mechanics imo! :] Ya did a great job on this! <3

This is one of those games that made me go "damn why didn't I make that!". I can tell the thought you put into the design of everything here. The attacks that let you get time back, the health regeneration, the enemy design and the risk / reward ability when your health is full - it all comes together to make me play this in a fast and chaotic way. I also loved all of the blood effects you added, how they splatter when I'm doing damage and then explode with blood when they're killed - everything feels really satisfying to do.

There's so much to talk about here, you've made a lot of mechanics with a lot of polish and it's cohesive. I'm a huge fan of the presentation and sliding around exploding enemies that get in the way felt ultra slick! Incredible work :)

This game totally rocks. It feels good to play, the music is nice, I took a little longer than I cared to admit to learn that I could slide continuously, but it was super rad. The sprites are cool, the animations are slick, the combat takes a second to learn but feels nice with the balance of time and health!

Super fantastic work!

This is a really fun and punchy, it all feels great to play!  I like how many mechanics you were able to add to the game and none of them are wasted as you have to use all of them to defeat the various enemy types.  Everything is implemented brilliantly and well polished.  Grabbing enemies and absorbing them for health felt good, and same with the sliding around to dodge projectiles.  I like that you also made some abilities consume health too - good use of risk = reward.

Sprite work is top-notch, and there's some nice effects in there too.  The art style is so simple but works really well.  Everything is readable and I really like the use of colour to make the characters/enemies pop against the darker backdrop.

I like the music as it makes you feel awesome as you're sliding around beating everything up but I would have preferred something a bit more retro/8-bit to match the visuals and sound effects.

Great job overall and I'm impressed with how much you were able to fit in, especially as a fellow solo-developer!  Having a fully functional tutorial to explain and test out all the mechanics was a nice touch too.

Fun and impressive, there is alot of potential with this game and its very fun! Dope style and mechanics.

I am so bad at this game!  I really like the quirky theme and retro art style.

I had a lot of fun with your game dude, I also enjoyed watching your updates throughout the jam cycle in the discord.  Great work and glad I got around to finally playing it through, the combat synergy with grabbing and throwing enemies is such a great mechanic to add to the slickness.

Great work!!

Final section was crazyyyy, got insta-killed :') Very fun game, all the ways you can destroy enemies are so satisfying ! The mouse sensitivity is a bit too high I think, but controller support would be perfect for this game !

Awesome !! The blend of pixel art and 3D looks stunning <3 Slick slide and combat and love the virus concept !!

i suck at this but other than that masterpiece

Super cool visual style! Drifting around and catching enemies to charge my super felt insanely slick! I like that there were multiple ways to dispatch enemies, and throwing an enemy into a shield was always satisfying. Having to manage your health with your ranged attacks and super was a really nice way to keep combat engaging and varied, fantastic job!

Why is this so much fun? This is an amazing action game, 10/10, would play a full steam release. Congratulations!

What a cool game you guys have made. Sliding between sections felt so smooth, going out of my way to get... civilians XD Really loved being able to grab enemies and crush them in my hand to heal, that was slick. That ultimate move was cool too. Your style and aesthetic gave me tmnt vibes, would love to see more references of me being a virus in a pc causing havoc

The only gripe I had was the mouse felt a bit too sensitive, and when I did use the ultimate move, sometimes I would find a way to spin the camera around me, so I couldn't see where the thunder was going (but that could have just been me with bad hand eye coordination).

There's no team. It's only me ( though I didn't make the music )

Apologies for the issues you faced. Didn't really have time to add a mouse sensitivity slider. Thanks for playing the game and for the feedback

It was really fun to watch your playthrough :)

Slick game

Very easy to jump into game with layers of complexity to learn as you play! Very fun arcadey style with great polish on the game feel and animations.

I like how arcade-y this game is! Its core mechanics are simple but deep and the visual style is awesome! An improvement might be adding a little bit of a freeze frame when you break an enemy's shield, since I kept accidentally killing enemies instead of grabbing them after breaking their shield in melee (that might just be a skill issue on my part, though lol). Had a good ol' time playing it!

Great game!  It felt really good to control and the art was on point.

I've always wanted to see a computer virus in action, I knew it would be cool, but didn't expect it to be this cool!

The visuals are spot on, the audio is well balanced and matches well for the game. The variety of controls and how easily accessible/logical they are is well thought out, collisions are clean (no jank there).

The sliding from holding shift would've been a little nicer to catch up with the camera direction a bit faster when holding the shift but you can get around this by letting go and pressing again.

Some sort of visuals for the ranged attack (like projectile rings) would make it a bit more consistent for the brain to keep up with where we're aiming.

The camera is a bit wild to control when performing turns/strafing and going into zoomed mode, it feels like the offset/latency you put on the camera for turns ends up waving around if you do a lot of quick zigzags and the final snap to center for the camera is a bit violent/fast, I think if this was tightened up then this would be a little easier to play/control.

Overall aced the game, just the few small issues in comparison to the mountain of well executed features.

I could add a particle effect for when you shoot. That would definitely help ensure the direction is in one's mind

Apologies for the camera sensitivity. I don't know what it is about the web build, but the sensitivity is always off there no matter how I tune it. Along with that I didn't really have time to add a slider, so that issue is still present in the desktop version as well

Still, thanks for playing and for the feedback :)

Submitted(+1)

ahh I will give the desktop version a go as well then!

Wow this was so good. I loved the art style and presentation in general. Game play was really fun too! All in all, amazing job here. 10/10
