Version 1.0.0

The full version of Wildsilver is out now!

This marks the end of a long journey that started with Wildsilver Zero, the free demo/prototype released back in 2021 that turned into its own kind of game, and continued through early access with a steady stream of patches.

While the full story has been playable for a long time, this release represents the moment where everything feels complete and coherent.

Save files will remain compatible, just like with previous patches. You can continue your journey, whether you’re mid-game or close to the end. If your last play session has been some time ago, however, I highly recommend starting anew to see all the little improvements that add up to a very different experience.

Thank you to everyone who played Wildsilver Zero or the early-access version, reported bugs and/or shared feedback. Your support helped shape the game into what it is today!

Story

Accompany Velven on a mission to save her sister Soire who has been poisoned by a Basilisk. Meet a little robot with a hammer and a brave knight from the capital who offer their help and venture right into the lair of the fierce dragon.

From there, the story takes a few turns to become god-slayingly epic as expected from a game of this genre. You will acually get to see the capital yourself, find out what ancient secrets it hides and, though courage, skill and, to be fair, some lucky circumstances, save the world from destruction.

Gameplay

Explore environments, find chests, fight monsters, get stronger, learn skills, buy items, customise equipment, solve puzzles, talk to people, break urns. In that order if played as designed.

Features
  • 15 hours of playtime
  • epic and emotional story
  • easy-going progression with some challenges
  • ATB system (you can choose between wait and active mode)
  • robotic companion (people seem to like Gilbert a lot)
  • many ways of accumulating power
  • many reversible customisation options (that is, equipment with effects)
  • finisher skills
  • clean level design and user interfaces
  • smooth lighting, tilt shift, parallax water and other visual effects
  • self-written soundtrack with 49 tracks
  • awesome sound effect for critical hits (this is more important than you’d think!)
  • many cutscenes, but mainly short ones (I hope this is a good compromise)
  • British English
  • no time pressure (I didn’t like this in Majora’s Mask or Pikmin)
  • no missable items (no need to keep a guide and double-check every 5 minutes)
  • no game over (except for elite and boss battles)

Pepper hopped up on my bed to snuggle earlier... and now there's grains of kitty litter all over the foot of my bed. Now she's in her own bed fast asleep. Sometimes, I like to wonder what Pepper dreams about... does she dream of chasing her toys? Pouncing on the lizards she sees on her patio? Purring in a sunny window? Receiving pets and scritchies?
Oh no... she's back in my bed.
Really interesting seeing the public be so okay with the placeholder art in Slay the Spire 2. I guess they trust in the potential of the final product, but it would be cool if the general consumer had a better understanding of dev pipelines.
Haven't updated my status in awhile. I'm taking a short break from working on my game because I have a sliiiight burnout,,
