MV Howdy all!

Hello everyone! I'm excited to be here, I recently got into rpgmaker mv! I made a game waaaay back when the og rpgmaker was out for the PlayStation one when I was a kid. If anyone wants to chat just let me know! I'm working on a dark fantasy RPG that deviates from the 'hero of light and his buddies go kill the bbeg' trope and am trying something different. Glad to be here, and any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thank you! Just subscribed to your YT i'll be checking out your tutorials later to see if it can help me with learning things in MV

I don't specifically recommend my tutorials for people without some experience with MZ or MV because I sort of just made tutorials for things I hadn't seen elsewhere. I learned from more comprehensive tutorial series that started generally from the beginning and then progressed to more advanced things.

But most of my tutorials should work with MV, except for references to the default plugins (MZ) TextPicture and ButtonPicture. I don't think MV has equivalent plugins that are default to MV so you would have to find something that does the same thing.

Most of my tutorials are older and based on my experiments as I learned. So, I would probably do a lot of things differently today.

But if they help at all, that's awesome.

I noticed you mentioned Discord in your status post. I don't really use Discord, but if you ever need anything, feel free to private message me on this forum and I'm happy to try to help.

Thank you! I'll keep that in mind, and watching more complex things (i do complex things for a living much brain damage haha) helps me with critical thinking and keeping an open mind as I learn. I'll make sure to give you feedback if it is helpful!

Welcome to the forum, Yusef! Man, the PS1 RPG Maker brings back memories. It was such a blast sharing the games I made with my friends back in the day.

MV now is a powerhouse compared to the old console versions. Your project sounds very intriguing, Good luck with the project!
