Upset at my own slow and somewhat meandering progress, I made a checklist of all the assets I need for my demo (And most of the game after). Then I came up with an approximate time to do all of it, which came to... 21 working hours left to go.

I usually work in 1-2 hour bursts...

Was thinking about re-rendering some music I made in the past to distribute it in some way, but apparently, when I changed the file location of one of my VSTs... all the settings in the project files disappeared, ig? ANyway none of the tracks work anymore and I want throw myself into the ocean

I took my game to another event, and this time I had the space to set up a little spot for people to try the game. The most enthusiastic person to try was a little kid with surprisingly specific feedback.

I've redone my Earth guard Boss, or at least the shading, to match the new style I've set for the enemies.

Plus it now shares a design element with the lesser spirit, and that's fun storytelling.

I made a post somehwere a while back about Hakuen Studio's Name Boxes for MV having a glitch. Uh, turns out the issue doesn't come up in the deployed version of the game, which is a plesant surprise that I only encountered on accident.

First day going back to working on my project after my break. Turns out I was using some RTP that I forgot about and deleted, in my testing map for all the mechanics. Whoops. Easy fix, at least.

After writing out and ideating an updated style for my enemies, I think I'm at a point where I need to relieve pressure from myself, so I think I'm going to stay off this website for the next week or so, just so I don't get an impending feeling of unproductivity. There's something eternally tragic about seeing an old movie or series that was sequel-baiting so hard, only to fail and never get that sequel.

Anyway, that's why I have to make sure I finish NDftE, because I sequel-baited hard with SotE's ending like an idiot.

The real problem I may have with monster design is my general lack of experience drawing animals, compared to humans (Which I also can't draw particularly well). As Chuck Jones said: If you're going to draw a funny horse, it's helpful to know how to draw a real horse"

I've only made 1 enemy for NDftE, but I think I'm going to have to scrap it and come up with a simpler style to render enemies in. The one I made was trying (and failing) to match the MV RTP. Now that I've determined I can't mix them, I should come up with a style that doesn't require 2-3 hours per enemy sprite.
