The Grey Leno Show Live - Shroomjam 2025

Experience what it’s like to be Grey Leno (minus the existential dread)! Play as Grey Leno in his early career, and navigate the challenging world of late night television!

First, choose an item to help with your monologue, then make the audience laugh (or die trying). After the break, interview your guest, and finally choose a band to close the show! Keep it up, you're on again tomorrow!

The game is a retro TV styled roguelite and will continue until Grey Leno succumbs of exhaustion (because the Grey Leno show never ends!)

CONTROLS:

ACTIONS:

• JOKE - Attack your audience (or your guest). Jokes can miss even if you do well in the minigame (some people won't get it, after all).
• OBSERVATION - Make a witty observation (Defend against attacks!)
• BITS - Use a special ability (Milky Way heals you!)

NOTES:
The game has received a bug fix update post jam but no new content was added, only existing content was fixed. See the devlog for details.

There are only 2 topics and 2 guests. More was planned to be added but cut due to time. Likewise, there were going to be more items and more bit abilities.

There is a rubber duck item but due to the item selection you might not see it right away.

"Parody Edition" is the same game but features the celebrity last names changed slightly as requested by the jam's judges.
