Something In Remembrance Of Poor Dírhaval

Amazing things are happening in the realm of 'how badly can I butcher stanza 4.'

This is a chunk of the Eärendillinwë in Old English.

Dirhaval was killed in the 3rd kinslaying (Sun-Year 538, as Elrond and his twin brother Elros were 6 years of age) as the First Age of Middle Earth was almost over. The remaining Sons of Feanor came down upon the Havens at Sirion's mouth and killed a large number of the inhabitants (Dirhaval the chronicler being one of these folks, the author of the Narn I Hin Hurin). The Silmaril eluded them however, for Elwing threw herself into the Sea and was saved by Ulmo. Being transformed into a bird she flew to her husband Earendil and together, they sailed to Valinor and delivered the Errand which signaled it was time for the Valar to launch their Host against Morgoth and end the First Age by breaking Thangorodrim and expelling Morgoth from Arda.

No intent to infringe upon the rights holders of the legendarium (the Tolkien Estate, the movie rights holders, anyone else related to that). Nonmonetized, completely free track for all.

Intended to be the same vintage of OE (900AD) as Edward the Elder since that's when AElfwine supposedly got back from Tol Eressëa.

The listenable MIDI version online at Musescore's -site- is....much faster and not as slow as I sing it.

The wildness/newness is i took the leap and actually started singing a chunk of this thing which I suspect was always an eventual goal since June of 2022 starting with the Roland synthesizer (where the first piece I ever put online is different bits of this poem, elevated to a full movie main theme of the Silmarillion, but not the same spot as Stanza 4 quite honestly).

Whatever, lol. Anyway it's submitted in time for the deadline.
